david_n very_o good_a yet_o not_o upright_o in_o the_o matter_n of_o uriah_n noah_n one_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n yet_o overtake_v with_o excess_n of_o wine_n etc._n etc._n such_o twinkle_n do_v and_o will_v accompany_v the_o high_a and_o fair_a star_n as_o he_o who_o foot_n it_o best_o may_v be_v find_v sometime_o all_o along_o so_o the_o most_o even_a christian_a may_v be_v surprise_v with_o many_o unevenness_n 2._o there_o be_v some_o kind_n of_o sin_v which_o do_v contradict_v uprightness_n uprightness_n some_o kind_n of_o sin_v do_v contradict_v uprightness_n there_o be_v a_o double_a uprightness_n give_v i_o leave_v brief_o to_o distinguish_v there_o be_v a_o double_a uprightness_n one_o be_v habitual_a which_o be_v the_o constant_a frame_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o general_a course_n of_o the_o life_n bend_v and_o inclination_n to_o god_n in_o duty_n and_o for_o god_n against_o all_o sin_n another_o be_v actual_a which_o be_v the_o even_a carriage_n of_o the_o heart_n or_o life_n in_o respect_n of_o this_o or_o that_o particular_a act_n or_o motion_n there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o sin_v some_o be_v particular_a and_o by_o way_n of_o fact_n when_o this_o or_o sin_v there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o sin_v that_o fact_n be_v inconsonant_a to_o the_o rule_n and_o by_o it_o condemn_v other_o be_v general_n and_o by_o way_n of_o course_n when_o the_o frame_n and_o tenor_n of_o the_o life_n be_v either_o notorious_o vile_a or_o in_o some_o private_a path_n of_o wickedness_n constant_o draw_v out_o and_o follow_v out_o of_o these_o distinction_n observe_v these_o particular_a conclusion_n viz._n 1._o that_o particular_a sinning_n or_o sinning_n in_o respect_n of_o particular_a apply_v the_o distinction_n apply_v fact_n though_o they_o can_v stand_v with_o actual_a uprightness_n yet_o they_o may_v consist_v with_o habitual_a uprightness_n look_v as_o trip_v or_o fall_v though_o they_o be_v opposite_a to_o stand_v or_o move_v on_o in_o the_o particular_a yet_o they_o be_v not_o so_o opposite_a to_o the_o course_n of_o motion_n in_o a_o journey_n that_o a_o man_n by_o reason_n of_o they_o shall_v be_v say_v not_o to_o be_v go_v on_o in_o his_o journey_n or_o look_v as_o every_o particular_a stain_n do_v not_o blemish_v the_o universal_a fineness_n of_o the_o cloth_n so_o neither_o do_v this_o or_o that_o particular_a fact_n disprove_v and_o deny_v the_o general_a bend_v of_o the_o heart_n particular_n may_v not_o decide_v the_o estate_n either_o way_n it_o be_v true_a a_o man_n by_o a_o particular_a sin_v be_v denominate_v guilty_a with_o a_o upright_a heart_n 2._o that_o course_n of_o sin_n know_v and_o allow_v course_n do_v direct_o contradict_v uprightness_n you_o must_v distinguish_v betwixt_o frequent_o temptation_n and_o daily_a inclination_n and_o betwixt_o course_n of_o sin_n even_o the_o most_o upright_a heart_n may_v be_v frequent_o assault_v by_o satan_n and_o daily_o molest_v with_o inward_a corruption_n tempt_v and_o entice_a but_o all_o this_o may_v be_v with_o resistance_n detestation_n sorrow_n and_o grief_n so_o that_o the_o heart_n may_v be_v very_o upright_o notwithstanding_o all_o these_o disquietment_n but_o if_o the_o heart_n have_v a_o way_n of_o wickedness_n if_o it_o have_v a_o path_n of_o sin_v in_o which_o it_o will_v walk_v assure_o such_o kind_n infallible_o testify_v that_o the_o heart_n be_v false_a and_o not_o upright_o he_o who_o know_v sin_n and_o yet_o will_v sin_v he_o that_o do_v sin_n and_o allow_v himself_o in_o sin_v whither_o the_o kind_n of_o sin_v be_v single_a or_o multiply_v one_o or_o many_o as_o the_o prophet_n speak_v of_o the_o proud_a man_n hab._n 2._o that_o i_o say_v of_o this_o man_n his_o heart_n be_v not_o upright_o in_o he_o there_o be_v two_o thing_n which_o show_v great_a rottenness_n of_o heart_n one_o when_o any_o sin_n have_v our_o warrant_n seal_v with_o secret_a allowance_n another_z when_o we_o drive_v on_o the_o sin_n return_v to_o the_o king_n highway_n into_o the_o way_n of_o obedience_n and_o righteousness_n but_o it_o be_v with_o a_o base_a heart_n as_o it_o be_v with_o base_a mettle_n it_o will_v easy_o bow_v and_o steadfast_o keep_v its_o crooked_a figure_n the_o bias_n draw_v that_o way_n the_o heart_n be_v set_v on_o sin_n and_o regard_v it_o do_v sin_n and_o allow_v it_o will_v sin_v and_o love_v it_o now_o this_o be_v a_o infallible_a sign_n of_o a_o false_a and_o hypocritical_a heart_n that_o it_o regard_v any_o know_a iniquity_n as_o david_n speak_v psal_n 66._o 28._o or_o that_o it_o have_v a_o
