property_n in_o we_o to_o be_v like_a unto_o little_a child_n in_o true_a humility_n whether_o we_o be_v humble_a in_o heart_n and_o mind_n and_o whether_o we_o show_v it_o in_o outward_a behaviour_n resemble_v little_a child_n in_o lowly_a carriage_n if_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o we_o this_o show_v we_o to_o be_v good_a christian_n and_o not_o otherwise_o therefore_o let_v we_o every_o one_o try_v ourselves_o by_o this_o property_n of_o good_a christian_n whether_o we_o do_v true_o resemble_v little_a child_n in_o humility_n more_o particular_o consider_v some_o special_a mark_n or_o property_n of_o humility_n which_o be_v in_o little_a child_n by_o which_o we_o may_v the_o better_o try_v and_o know_v whether_o we_o do_v resemble_v they_o herein_o or_o not_o 1._o little_a child_n be_v sensible_a of_o their_o own_o weakness_n and_o unability_n to_o go_v of_o themselves_o or_o to_o help_v themselves_o when_o they_o be_v very_o small_a and_o young_a and_o therefore_o they_o seek_v to_o their_o parent_n and_o depend_v on_o they_o for_o help_v examine_v whether_o it_o be_v so_o with_o we_o whether_o we_o be_v touch_v in_o heart_n with_o feel_v of_o our_o own_o spiritual_a weakness_n and_o unability_n of_o ourselves_o to_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o to_o do_v any_o good_a duty_n and_o whether_o we_o be_v sensible_a of_o our_o sin_n and_o corruption_n the_o cause_n of_o our_o spiritual_a weakness_n etc._n etc._n and_o whether_o this_o feel_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o infirmity_n do_v drive_v we_o out_o of_o ourselves_o unto_o god_n for_o help_n and_o assistance_n in_o all_o our_o way_n 2._o little_a child_n be_v not_o puff_v up_o with_o high_a conceit_n of_o themselves_o or_o of_o their_o own_o gift_n or_o good_a part_n as_o beauty_n comeliness_n think_v mean_o of_o ourselves_o notwithstanding_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n bestow_v on_o we_o either_o gift_n of_o nature_n or_o grace_n yea_o the_o more_o gift_n we_o have_v receive_v the_o more_o humble_a be_v we_o and_o low_a in_o our_o eye_n this_o show_v humility_n
this_o matter_n of_o founder_n judgement_n and_o do_v see_v the_o truth_n more_o clear_o than_o the_o apostle_n themselves_o whence_o observe_v that_o sometime_o man_n of_o mean_a gift_n and_o place_n in_o the_o church_n may_v see_v the_o truth_n and_o judge_v better_o in_o matter_n of_o religion_n than_o those_o of_o great_a gift_n and_o place_n joh._n 3._o 8._o as_o the_o wind_n blow_v where_o it_o list_v etc._n etc._n so_o do_v the_o lord_n give_v his_o spirit_n of_o illumination_n when_o and_o to_o who_o he_o please_v to_o open_v their_o eye_n to_o see_v the_o truth_n in_o matter_n of_o little_a child_n and_o a_o mean_n to_o discourage_v and_o hinder_v they_o if_o they_o will_v be_v hinder_v in_o this_o good_a work_n of_o bring_v their_o child_n to_o christ_n in_o that_o their_o commendable_a practice_n be_v thus_o blame_v and_o condemn_v by_o such_o as_o be_v so_o near_o unto_o christ_n this_o may_v teach_v we_o that_o we_o be_v to_o look_v for_o discouragement_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o other_o in_o good_a duty_n yea_o sometime_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o such_o as_o be_v of_o eminent_a place_n and_o authority_n in_o the_o church_n who_o shall_v rather_o encourage_v and_o
