who_o will_v therefore_o be_v he_o here_o describe_v to_o be_v the_o most_o high_a 4._o man_n short-coming_a in_o the_o matter_n of_o repentance_n and_o conversion_n to_o god_n flow_v from_o their_o want_n of_o straitness_n in_o not_o intend_v what_o they_o pretend_v to_o which_o be_v also_o a_o great_a sin_n for_o therefore_o it_o be_v add_v they_o be_v like_o a_o deceitful_a bow_n that_o be_v as_o a_o bow_n that_o have_v a_o throw_n in_o it_o do_v never_o direct_v the_o arrow_n to_o the_o mark_n however_o it_o seem_v to_o aim_v at_o it_o so_o however_o they_o pretend_v true_a repentance_n yet_o they_o do_v not_o intend_v it_o but_o only_o to_o deceive_v and_o flatter_v god_n till_o they_o may_v get_v out_o of_o trouble_n and_o then_o return_v to_o their_o wont_a course_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o they_o return_v but_o not_o to_o the_o most_o high_a 5._o as_o the_o sword_n be_v one_o of_o god_n scourge_n whereby_o he_o chastise_v his_o sinful_a people_n so_o great_a one_o need_v not_o think_v to_o be_v exempt_v when_o god_n draw_v it_o nor_o need_v people_n place_v their_o hope_n of_o safety_n in_o their_o ruler_n who_o by_o have_v chief_a hand_n in_o the_o defection_n of_o the_o time_n do_v provoke_v god_n to_o have_v a_o special_a controversy_n against_o they_o for_o their_o prince_n shall_v fall_v by_o the_o sword_n 6._o man_n blasphemous_a which_o be_v put_v in_o the_o sentence_n that_o it_o may_v not_o be_v forget_v as_o a_o chief_a cause_n of_o their_o stroke_n 7._o such_o as_o forsake_v god_n and_o join_v in_o confederacy_n with_o wicked_a man_n be_v just_o not_o only_a disappoint_v of_o help_n by_o they_o but_o leave_v destitute_a of_o all_o pity_n in_o their_o extremity_n and_o meet_v with_o derision_n in_o stead_n of_o comfort_n from_o these_o they_o confide_v so_o much_o in_o for_o this_o to_o wit_n their_o calamity_n for_o sin_n shall_v be_v their_o derision_n in_o the_o land_n of_o egypt_n whither_o many_o of_o they_o flee_v ch_n 9.6_o chap._n viii_o this_o chap._n be_v of_o the_o same_o subject_n with_o the_o former_a as_o contain_v denunciation_n of_o sad_a judgement_n to_o come_v upon_o israel_n for_o vers_fw-la 1._o notwithstanding_o any_o thing_n they_o can_v pretend_v to_o the_o contrary_a vers_fw-la 2_o 3._o second_o the_o cause_n of_o this_o judgement_n be_v specify_v and_o the_o judgement_n for_o these_o cause_n particularise_v the_o first_o cause_n be_v their_o sinful_a change_n of_o civil_a government_n ver_fw-la 4._o the_o second_o cause_n be_v the_o idolatry_n of_o the_o calf_n to_o cause_n be_v their_o further_a corrupt_v of_o worship_n by_o multiply_a idolatry_n and_o superstition_n ver_fw-la 11._o by_o contemn_v of_o the_o write_a word_n ver_fw-la 12._o and_o by_o their_o profanity_n and_o selfishnesse_n in_o what_o worship_n they_o pretend_v to_o offer_v to_o god_n ver_fw-la 13._o for_o which_o the_o lord_n reject_v they_o and_o threaten_v to_o send_v they_o into_o think_v it_o a_o small_a matter_n to_o stand_v so_o much_o upon_o the_o place_n of_o worship_n and_o they_o think_v it_o a_o unreasonable_a thing_n to_o urge_v that_o way_n of_o worship_n which_o will_v be_v so_o destructive_a to_o the_o state_n of_o israel_n if_o they_o go_v up_o to_o jerusalem_n and_o therefore_o they_o look_v on_o all_o these_o thing_n as_o little_o concern_v they_o ver._n 13._o they_o sacrifice_v flesh_n for_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o my_o offering_n and_o eat_v it_o but_o the_o lord_n accept_v they_o not_o now_o will_v he_o remember_v their_o iniquity_n and_o visit_v and_o who_o kindness_n to_o his_o people_n shall_v engage_v they_o not_o to_o abandon_v his_o worship_n nor_o trust_v in_o any_o thing_n beside_o he_o and_o particular_o how_o much_o soever_o man_n pretend_v to_o remember_v god_n by_o set_v up_o idol_n and_o temple_n to_o they_o yet_o in_o all_o this_o they_o do_v but_o bewray_v forgetfulness_n of_o god_n for_o israel_n have_v forget_v his_o maker_n who_o not_o only_o create_v he_o but_o advance_v he_o to_o that_o dignity_n he_o enjoy_v in_o his_o sin_v and_o the_o like_a be_v to_o be_v understand_v of_o judah_n 4._o mens_fw-la place_v their_o confidence_n in_o outward_a mean_n of_o defence_n and_o safety_n when_o yet_o they_o little_a mind_n the_o wrath_n of_o god_n against_o sin_n be_v a_o iniquity_n to_o be_v join_v in_o some_o because_o both_o draw_v the_o heart_n from_o god_n 5._o as_o judgement_n inflict_v in_o god_n anger_n will_v easy_o like_o fire_n consume_v most_o stately_a place_n so_o the_o lord_n be_v provoke_v to_o inflict_v these_o when_o man_n put_v confidence_n in_o these_o thing_n any_o thing_n a_o people_n and_o especial_o the_o church_n put_v confidence_n in_o will_v sure_o be_v plague_v for_o because_o judah_n have_v multiply_v fence_v city_n and_o make_v this_o his_o confidence_n otherwise_o it_o be_v no_o sin_n to_o use_v mean_n of_o defence_n i_o will_v send_v a_o fire_n upon_o his_o city_n and_o it_o shall_v devour_v the_o palace_n thereof_o chap._n ix_o the_o doctrine_n of_o this_o chap_n relate_v to_o a_o time_n wherein_o israel_n flourish_v much_o by_o reason_n of_o outward_a
