resolve_v and_o say_v i_o will_v justify_v god_n though_o god_n have_v not_o choose_v i_o and_o my_o child_n &_o though_o god_n have_v not_o choose_v my_o friend_n yet_o no_o unrighteousness_n in_o he_o true_o this_o be_v the_o way_n to_o overcome_v the_o temptation_n and_o till_o a_o soul_n be_v bring_v to_o this_o a_o soul_n that_o be_v trouble_v about_o his_o election_n will_v never_o find_v rest_n till_o he_o come_v to_o justify_v god_n and_o lie_v at_o the_o foot_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o say_v lord_n though_o thou_o condemne_v i_o and_o all_o my_o child_n and_o friend_n thou_o be_v righteous_a till_o we_o justify_v god_n we_o shall_v have_v no_o peace_n in_o ourselves_o what_o a_o restless_a condition_n be_v job_n in_o when_o he_o stand_v quarrel_v with_o god_n decree_n he_o never_o have_v peace_n till_o he_o come_v to_o justify_v god_n job_n 42._o 2._o i_o know_v that_o thou_o can_v do_v every_o thing_n i_o will_v contend_v no_o more_o when_o job_n come_v thus_o to_o justify_v god_n than_o job_n temptation_n vanish_v and_o then_o the_o lord_n turn_v unto_o job_n and_o turn_v again_o his_o captivity_n and_o double_v the_o mercy_n he_o have_v take_v away_o that_o i_o be_o not_o send_v but_o to_o the_o lose_a sheep_n of_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n what_o follow_v she_o come_v and_o worship_v he_o she_o speak_v not_o a_o word_n of_o discontent_n but_o fall_v with_o one_o word_n of_o answer_n yet_o be_v comfort_v this_o may_v be_v the_o condition_n of_o god_n own_o people_n and_o let_v i_o say_v further_o by_o way_n of_o encouragement_n that_o the_o lord_n hint_n which_o the_o lord_n be_v please_v at_o one_o time_n or_o other_o to_o bring_v to_o thy_o spirit_n some_o hint_n of_o life_n some_o hint_n of_o comfort_n sure_o if_o thou_o have_v observe_v while_o thou_o have_v wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n there_o have_v be_v some_o secret_n hint_n of_o comfort_n that_o after_o thou_o have_v be_v before_o the_o lord_n thou_o have_v be_v at_o ease_n and_o thy_o trouble_n be_v not_o so_o great_a as_o it_o be_v hannah_n when_o she_o pour_v out_o her_o soul_n before_o the_o lord_n she_o be_v in_o great_a distress_n but_o before_o she_o go_v away_o the_o lord_n hear_v her_o prayer_n and_o this_o be_v the_o sign_n there_o be_v some_o ease_n in_o her_o spirit_n her_o burden_n be_v take_v off_o a_o great_a deal_n refresh_v in_o her_o spirit_n and_o so_o such_o as_o be_v ready_a to_o break_v thy_o very_a spirit_n to_o make_v thy_o soul_n fade_v and_o faint_v and_o yet_o thou_o be_v support_v thou_o have_v cry_v to_o the_o lord_n and_o thou_o say_v she_o away_o for_o she_o cry_v after_o we_o lord_n stop_v her_o mouth_n send_v she_o away_o give_v she_o a_o answer_n dispatch_v she_o for_o she_o cry_v after_o we_o and_o this_o be_v do_v say_v they_o that_o so_o the_o trial_n of_o this_o woman_n faith_n may_v be_v the_o great_a but_o i_o rather_o conceive_v that_o the_o disciple_n in_o these_o word_n do_v pray_v for_o she_o they_o do_v perform_v a_o office_n and_o duty_n of_o love_n in_o intercede_v with_o christ_n for_o she_o for_o first_o of_o all_o it_o seem_v they_o be_v very_o earnest_a in_o it_o they_o come_v and_o beseech_v he_o say_v send_v she_o away_o sure_o if_o it_o have_v be_v only_o to_o stop_v her_o mouth_n to_o dispatch_v she_o the_o disciple_n will_v not_o have_v be_v so_o earnest_a with_o christ_n to_o beseech_v he_o good_a nature_n will_v have_v teach_v they_o more_o compassion_n and_o therefore_o grace_n teach_v they_o much_o more_o and_o then_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v affect_v with_o the_o cry_n of_o the_o woman_n she_o cry_v after_o we_o send_v she_o away_o it_o break_v our_o heart_n the_o cry_n that_o she_o make_v thou_o son_n of_o david_n have_v mercy_n on_o i_o and_o three_o it_o be_v clear_a and_o evident_a in_o the_o follow_a verse_n from_o the_o answer_n that_o christ_n give_v upon_o their_o seek_n of_o he_o i_o be_o not_o send_v but_o to_o the_o lose_a sheep_n of_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n therefore_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o disciple_n do_v not_o plead_v with_o christ_n to_o send_v she_o away_o to_o stop_v her_o mouth_n but_o they_o do_v plead_v with_o christ_n though_o not_o mention_v that_o he_o will_v grant_v her_o request_n the_o truth_n than_o which_o the_o word_n hold_v forth_o to_o we_o be_v this_o that_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o christ_n disciple_n to_o present_v the_o condition_n of_o other_o unto_o the_o lord_n in_o prayer_n as_o well_o as_o their_o own_o doctrine_n we_o find_v that_o moses_n the_o servant_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v much_o in_o this_o work_n much_o in_o pray_v for_o other_o and_o intercede_v for_o israel_n upon_o every_o occasion_n he_o step_v in_o and_o plead_v with_o god_n for_o the_o people_n and_o so_o david_n in_o many_o of_o the_o psalm_n he_o present_v the_o condition_n of_o other_o unto_o the_o lord_n and_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n himself_o who_o be_v our_o great_a pattern_n be_v much_o in_o the_o performance_n of_o this_o duty_n john_n 17._o you_o shall_v â—nd_v there_o that_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o time_n that_o christ_n spend_v in_o prayer_n it_o be_v spend_v in_o pray_v for_o other_o there_o be_v but_o one_o petition_n that_o he_o put_v for_o himself_o in_o ver_fw-la 1._o and_o repeat_v again_o in_o ver_fw-la 5._o and_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o his_o time_n it_o be_v of_o pray_v for_o other_o rom._n 1._o 9_o he_o do_v appeal_v to_o god_n that_o he_o do_v not_o neglect_v this_o duty_n for_o god_n be_v my_o witness_n who_o i_o serve_v with_o my_o spirit_n in_o the_o gospel_n of_o his_o son_n that_o without_o cease_v i_o make_v mention_n of_o you_o always_o in_o my_o prayer_n and_o so_o 2_o tim._n 1._o 3_o i_o thank_v god_n who_o i_o serve_v from_o my_o forefather_n with_o pure_a conscience_n that_o without_o cease_v i_o have_v remembrance_n of_o thou_o in_o my_o prayer_n paul_n do_v remember_v other_o before_o the_o lord_n but_o in_o the_o open_n of_o the_o point_n i_o shall_v show_v you_o first_o who_o they_o be_v that_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o pray_v for_o who_o condition_n god_n people_n be_v bind_v to_o remember_v before_o the_o lord_n and_o they_o have_v attain_v and_o have_v assurance_n i_o have_v seek_v and_o i_o can_v meet_v with_o assurance_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o certain_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o love_v i_o i_o answer_v to_o this_o temptation_n know_v that_o thou_o can_v not_o conclude_v that_o god_n have_v not_o call_v thou_o effectual_o because_o thou_o have_v not_o assurance_n and_o if_o thou_o can_v not_o conclude_v that_o god_n have_v not_o call_v thou_o effectual_o because_o thou_o have_v not_o assurance_n much_o less_o can_v thou_o conclude_v that_o god_n have_v not_o choose_v shall_v find_v that_o this_o woman_n supplication_n it_o be_v accompany_v with_o faith_n fervency_n without_o faith_n can_v not_o avail_v but_o there_o be_v a_o expression_n of_o her_o faith_n that_o title_n which_o she_o give_v to_o christ_n lord_n lord_n help_v she_o look_v upon_o he_o as_o the_o lord_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n so_o she_o apply_v herself_o to_o he_o in_o her_o distress_n they_o too_o the_o day_n of_o conversion_n and_o return_v to_o god_n be_v the_o first_o of_o all_o good_a day_n the_o daybreak_n of_o eternity_n he_o therefore_o double_v his_o exhortation_n to_o they_o and_o he_o begin_v in_o chap._n 11._o verse_n 9_o there_o he_o give_v one_o warn_v piece_n to_o young_a man_n rejoice_v o_o young_a man_n in_o thy_o youth_n and_o let_v thy_o heart_n cheer_v lord_n he_o take_v delight_n in_o the_o prayer_n of_o his_o servant_n the_o prayerâ—_n the_o upright_o be_v his_o delight_n and_o he_o will_v give_v no_o present_a answer_n that_o so_o they_o may_v go_v on_o pray_v 〈◊〉_d cry_v second_o the_o lord_n may_v seem_v to_o be_v silent_a 〈◊〉_d the_o prayer_n of_o his_o people_n that_o so_o he_o may_v exerce_v the_o faith_n and_o patience_n of_o his_o servant_n it_o be_v great_a trial_n of_o the_o faith_n and_o patience_n of_o the_o saiâ—â—_n when_o as_o the_o lord_n seem_v to_o take_v no_o notice_n 〈◊〉_d give_v no_o answer_n to_o their_o prayer_n it_o be_v for_o 〈◊〉_d end_n that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n give_v not_o a_o 〈◊〉_d of_o answer_n to_o this_o woman_n of_o canaan_n it_o be_v that_o may_v try_v her_o faith_n and_o her_o patience_n and_o that_o may_v exercise_v it_o and_o that_o by_o the_o exerciâ—â—_n faith_n faith_n may_v be_v increase_v and_o her_o faith_n 〈◊〉_d arise_v to_o a_o great_a faith_n by_o this_o exercise_n for_o at_o 〈◊〉_d christ_n commend_v she_o for_o her_o faith_n oh_o 〈◊〉_d great_a be_v thy_o faith_n be_v it_o unto_o thou_o even_o as_o 〈◊〉_d wait_n again_o the_o lord_n be_v silent_a many_o time_n at_o the_o prayer_n of_o his_o people_n to_o try_v whether_o they_o will_v continue_v in_o prayer_n though_o the_o lord_n do_v give_v they_o no_o present_a answer_n oh_o here_o be_v the_o trial_n of_o perseverance_n god_n have_v hear_v my_o prayer_n say_v david_n therefore_o will_v i_o call_v upon_o he_o as_o long_o as_o i_o live_v ah_o but_o that_o be_v no_o great_a matter_n for_o a_o man_n to_o say_v god_n have_v hear_v my_o prayer_n and_o therefore_o i_o will_v call_v upon_o he_o still_o but_o for_o a_o soul_n to_o say_v i_o have_v be_v cry_v and_o call_v and_o i_o will_v still_o wait_v upon_o he_o as_o long_o as_o i_o live_v i_o will_v wait_v upon_o god_n oh_o here_o be_v perseverance_n in_o prayer_n in_o which_o christ_n do_v delight_n four_o the_o lord_n be_v silent_a many_o time_n upon_o this_o ground_n he_o give_v no_o present_a answer_n that_o so_o he_o may_v prepare_v a_o answer_n for_o they_o and_o that_o he_o may_v prepare_v they_o for_o a_o answer_n god_n give_v no_o present_a answer_n that_o so_o he_o may_v prepare_v mercy_n and_o ripen_v mercy_n and_o make_v mercy_n fit_a for_o his_o people_n and_o that_o he_o may_v ripen_v they_o and_o fit_v they_o and_o their_o heart_n for_o the_o mercy_n so_o that_o it_o be_v in_o abundance_n of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n and_o love_n that_o the_o lord_n be_v please_v many_o time_n not_o to_o give_v out_o a_o present_a answer_n to_o his_o people_n for_o all_o the_o time_n the_o lord_n be_v silent_a he_o be_v prepare_v of_o mercy_n and_o goodness_n for_o they_o he_o be_v make_v of_o the_o mercy_n fit_a for_o his_o people_n the_o mercy_n shall_v be_v ripe_a and_o the_o mercy_n shall_v be_v sweet_a and_o wholesome_a and_o do_v they_o good_a at_o the_o heart_n when_o the_o lord_n have_v thus_o prepare_v mercy_n for_o they_o and_o fit_v they_o for_o the_o mercy_n they_o shall_v have_v the_o mercy_n see_v what_o be_v say_v in_o isa_n 80._o 18._o and_o therefore_o will_v the_o lord_n wait_v that_o he_o way_n be_v gracious_a unto_o you_o and_o therefore_o will_v he_o be_v exalt_v for_o the_o lord_n be_v a_o god_n of_o judgement_n bless_a be_v all_o they_o that_o wait_v for_o he_o he_o wait_v that_o he_o may_v be_v gracious_a he_o wait_v for_o the_o best_a season_n the_o fit_a opportunity_n he_o will_v stay_v till_o the_o soul_n have_v need_n of_o help_n in_o the_o fit_a time_n the_o lord_n will_v come_v in_o mercy_n when_o he_o may_v be_v most_o exalt_v for_o mercy_n when_o his_o people_n may_v see_v most_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n when_o they_o most_o prize_v their_o mercy_n and_o glorify_v god_n for_o mercy_n god_n wait_v for_o such_o a_o time_n and_o therefore_o you_o see_v it_o be_v for_o gracious_a end_n that_o god_n many_o time_n seem_v to_o be_v silent_a for_o a_o season_n and_o give_v not_o one_o word_n in_o answer_n to_o prayer_n as_o christ_n here_o to_o this_o woman_n of_o canaan_n for_o the_o application_n of_o the_o point_n application_n first_o it_o speak_v sad_o of_o they_o that_o never_o regard_v whether_o the_o lord_n give_v a_o answer_n or_o no_o to_o their_o prayer_n that_o pray_v and_o pray_v and_o look_v not_o after_o a_o answer_n how_o far_o be_v such_o man_n and_o woman_n from_o the_o disposition_n of_o god_n child_n a_o gracious_a heart_n can_v but_o be_v affect_v when_o it_o speak_v to_o the_o father_n and_o the_o father_n give_v no_o answer_n and_o therefore_o sure_o when_o man_n and_o woman_n make_v many_o prayer_n and_o look_v not_o up_o for_o a_o answer_n that_o regard_v not_o whether_o the_o lord_n answer_n or_o not_o either_o they_o be_v none_o of_o his_o child_n or_o else_o under_o a_o sore_a temptation_n for_o let_v i_o say_v unto_o you_o that_o though_o it_o be_v not_o for_o your_o prayer_n that_o god_n do_v regard_n prayer_n yet_o if_o you_o do_v not_o look_v up_o for_o a_o answer_n if_o you_o do_v not_o regard_v your_o prayer_n neither_o will_n god_n regard_v your_o prayer_n and_o let_v i_o say_v further_o that_o this_o be_v a_o great_a dishonour_n to_o god_n oh_o what_o a_o 〈◊〉_d be_v it_o it_o be_v a_o loss_n to_o god_n and_o it_o be_v a_o loss_n also_o to_o the_o soul_n for_o a_o man_n to_o lose_v all_o his_o prayer_n it_o be_v a_o loss_n indeed_o when_o as_o a_o soul_n do_v not_o regard_n whether_o god_n answer_v or_o no_o god_n lose_v he_o lose_v that_o glory_n which_o will_v redound_v to_o he_o in_o the_o answer_n of_o prayer_n call_v upon_o i_o say_v god_n in_o the_o day_n of_o trouble_n and_o i_o will_v deliver_v thou_o and_o thou_o shall_v glorify_v i_o now_o if_o the_o soul_n call_v upon_o god_n and_o do_v not_o observe_v whether_o god_n hear_v or_o no_o it_o can_v glorify_v god_n for_o the_o return_n of_o prayer_n but_o god_n lose_v that_o honour_n that_o thankfulness_n and_o that_o love_n and_o obedience_n and_o that_o dependence_n which_o a_o answer_n of_o prayer_n may_v engage_v the_o soul_n to_o and_o as_o god_n lose_v so_o the_o soul_n lose_v oh_o they_o that_o look_v not_o after_o the_o return_n of_o prayer_n they_o lose_v that_o which_o will_v make_v their_o soul_n rich_a for_o a_o merchant_n to_o lose_v all_o his_o return_n it_o will_v make_v he_o a_o poor_a tradesman_n in_o conclusion_n that_o soul_n that_o do_v not_o look_v after_o the_o return_n of_o prayer_n lose_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o faith_n and_o dependence_n and_o experience_n for_o god_n by_o give_v out_o a_o answer_n to_o the_o prayer_n of_o his_o people_n he_o do_v encourage_v they_o and_o engage_v they_o to_o trust_v in_o he_o at_o all_o time_n so_o long_o as_o they_o live_v they_o that_o lose_v the_o return_n of_o prayer_n lose_v the_o strengthen_n of_o faith_n and_o the_o engage_v of_o their_o heart_n to_o god_n but_o second_o let_v i_o speak_v to_o such_o poor_a soul_n as_o be_v in_o the_o same_o condition_n with_o this_o woman_n of_o canaan_n that_o have_v pray_v and_o have_v not_o meet_v with_o one_o word_n of_o answer_n poor_a soul_n be_v this_o the_o condition_n of_o any_o of_o you_o i_o know_v that_o it_o have_v be_v and_o may_v still_o be_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o lord_n dear_a servant_n they_o may_v pray_v and_o the_o lord_n may_v seem_v to_o give_v no_o answer_n remember_v it_o be_v so_o with_o david_n jeremiah_n and_o habakkuk_n and_o with_o christ_n himself_o and_o let_v i_o say_v this_o unto_o thou_o that_o if_o thou_o regard_v any_o iniquity_n in_o thy_o heart_n any_o know_a sin_n that_o thou_o regard_v or_o connive_v at_o or_o if_o there_o be_v slightness_n in_o the_o performance_n of_o thy_o duty_n or_o content_a thyself_o with_o a_o slothful_a performance_n of_o thy_o duty_n or_o thou_o do_v not_o regard_v thy_o prayer_n when_o thou_o have_v put_v it_o up_o to_o the_o lord_n for_o this_o we_o have_v cause_n to_o be_v humble_v and_o no_o wonder_n the_o lord_n do_v not_o answer_v our_o prayer_n but_o now_o if_o thy_o own_o spirit_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n can_v testify_v that_o thou_o desire_v to_o regard_v no_o iniquity_n in_o thy_o heart_n but_o to_o walk_v up_o to_o thy_o duty_n and_o desire_v to_o be_v conformable_a to_o christ_n and_o desire_v to_o cry_v in_o faith_n and_o to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n for_o a_o answer_n be_v of_o good_a comfort_n
