to_o god_n when_o you_o be_v tempt_v about_o election_n thus_o worship_v he_o and_o second_o worship_v he_o with_o external_n worship_n there_o be_v two_o principal_a part_n of_o this_o worship_n that_o will_v tend_v to_o the_o silence_v of_o all_o temptation_n about_o election_n the_o first_o be_v prayer_n the_o second_o be_v thanksgiving_n when_o you_o be_v tempt_v about_o election_n or_o doubt_v of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n fall_v to_o prayer_n go_v and_o pour_v out_o a_o cry_n before_o the_o lord_n go_v and_o lament_v after_o he_o and_o say_v though_o i_o do_v not_o know_v whether_o instance_n for_o the_o proof_n of_o the_o point_n and_o then_o three_o consider_v the_o ground_n of_o the_o point_n
in_o such_o a_o supplication_n as_o be_v send_v up_o with_o a_o holy_a fervency_n unto_o god_n and_o indeed_o the_o lord_n bring_v his_o people_n into_o the_o furnace_n of_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n that_o so_o he_o may_v kindle_v this_o holy_a fire_n of_o zeal_n and_o fervency_n in_o their_o bosom_n the_o lord_n do_v raise_v the_o storm_n that_o so_o he_o may_v make_v the_o of_o as_o be_v accompany_v with_o faith_n the_o promise_n be_v make_v to_o faith_n whatever_o you_o ask_v in_o my_o name_n believe_v you_o shall_v receive_v and_o the_o prayer_n of_o faith_n shall_v save_v the_o sick_a the_o prayer_n of_o faith_n can_v do_v great_a thing_n four_o this_o woman_n prayer_n be_v accompany_v with_o constancy_n she_o hold_v on_o notwithstanding_o the_o discouragement_n she_o meet_v withal_o they_o be_v very_o many_o and_o great_a the_o lord_n as_o you_o hear_v before_o be_v silent_a to_o her_o a_o long_a time_n when_o he_o speak_v he_o speak_v a_o sad_a word_n that_o he_o be_v not_o send_v to_o such_o as_o she_o be_v yet_o she_o hold_v on_o this_o discouragement_n may_v have_v beat_v she_o off_o and_o make_v she_o to_o have_v say_v well_o i_o see_v that_o time_n of_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n brief_o thus_o affliction_n we_o shall_v cry_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v discover_v the_o cause_n of_o that_o affliction_n and_o that_o trial_n which_o the_o lord_n do_v exercise_v his_o people_n with_o true_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n that_o god_n do_v afflict_v we_o if_o need_v be_v you_o his_o praise_n sure_o the_o least_o affliction_n will_v crush_v we_o if_o we_o have_v no_o other_o strength_n than_o our_o own_o we_o shall_v be_v soon_o crush_v when_o under_o temptation_n o_o we_o for_o good_a god_n will_v make_v a_o good_a end_n as_o he_o do_v with_o job_n and_o you_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o

in_o such_o a_o way_n of_o seem_a mortification_n yea_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o body_n may_v be_v spend_v in_o seem_a mortification_n and_o the_o corruption_n unmortified_a but_o to_o reflect_v a_o little_a by_o way_n of_o application_n application_n oh_o that_o this_o may_v be_v a_o warn_a piece_n to_o we_o to_o take_v heed_n that_o we_o do_v not_o exalt_v any_o thing_n of_o man_n in_o the_o room_n of_o christ_n take_v heed_n we_o do_v not_o exalt_v our_o rule_n above_o christ_n rule_n that_o we_o do_v not_o form_v rule_n to_o ourselves_o to_o walk_v by_o and_o to_o worship_n by_o and_o decline_v the_o rule_n and_o institution_n and_o ordinance_n of_o christ_n there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o people_n that_o be_v and_o will_v be_v find_v guilty_a of_o this_o rule_n who_o shall_v not_o enjoy_v the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o christ_n will_v depart_v from_o such_o a_o people_n first_o such_o as_o set_v up_o outward_a form_n of_o their_o own_o in_o opposition_n to_o christ_n form_n there_o have_v be_v such_o a_o generation_n of_o man_n in_o this_o land_n and_o still_o there_o be_v who_o have_v such_o idol_n in_o their_o heart_n who_o set_v up_o their_o form_n above_o christ_n form_n christ_n have_v leave_v a_o rule_n and_o christ_n have_v give_v his_o form_n and_o his_o institution_n which_o must_v be_v observe_v till_o his_o come_n but_o now_o when_o man_n shall_v bring_v in_o their_o own_o invention_n and_o tradition_n their_o own_o superstitious_a ceremony_n into_o the_o worship_n of_o christ_n which_o christ_n have_v not_o command_v this_o be_v a_o great_a provocation_n to_o the_o lord_n and_o such_o a_o people_n can_v enjoy_v the_o spiritual_a presence_n of_o christ_n for_o â—aitâ—_n christ_n go_v teach_v and_o observe_v what_o i_o have_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v their_o rule_n to_o teach_v they_o and_o they_o shall_v not_o look_v to_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o scripture_n not_o look_v to_o any_o rule_n without_o they_o true_o both_o these_o sort_n of_o man_n will_v be_v find_v to_o set_v up_o their_o own_o rule_n above_o christ_n rule_n and_o oh_o how_o dangerous_a be_v it_o and_o as_o i_o say_v before_o so_o again_o and_o oh_o
