continual_o verse_n 11._o then_o the_o devil_n leave_v he_o and_o behold_v the_o angel_n come_v and_o minister_v unto_o he_o these_o word_n contain_v the_o three_o part_n temptation_n of_o this_o description_n of_o christ_n temptation_n to_o wit_n the_o happy_a event_n and_o issue_n thereof_o in_o christ_n glorious_a victory_n over_o the_o tempter_n which_o be_v the_o principal_a part_n wherein_o consist_v the_o main_a comfort_n of_o god_n church_n for_o as_o in_o temptation_n christ_n stand_v in_o our_o room_n and_o stead_n so_o be_v this_o victory_n not_o his_o a_o lone_n but_o the_o devil_n leave_v he_o that_o be_v after_o that_o by_o temptation_n he_o can_v nothing_o avail_v than_o he_o betake_v himself_o to_o flight_n in_o this_o appear_v the_o unspeakable_a mercy_n of_o god_n unto_o his_o church_n in_o mitigate_a and_o in_o due_a time_n put_v a_o end_n unto_o the_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n thereof_o for_o the_o case_n of_o christ_n the_o head_n in_o this_o conflict_n be_v the_o case_n and_o condition_n of_o all_o his_o member_n now_o here_o we_o see_v what_o a_o gracious_a issue_n the_o lord_n put_v to_o these_o great_a assault_n of_o satan_n in_o due_a time_n his_o enemy_n fly_v and_o so_o will_v the_o lord_n deal_v in_o all_o the_o misery_n of_o his_o church_n &_o child_n god_n promise_v to_o david_n concern_v solomon_n 14._o that_o if_o he_o sin_v he_o will_v chastise_v he_o with_o the_o rod_n of_o man_n and_o with_o the_o plague_n of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n that_o be_v with_o such_o punishment_n as_o he_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o bear_v themselves_o with_o those_o miracle_n which_o christ_n do_v ordinary_o work_v among_o they_o three_o a_o man_n tempt_v god_n when_o he_o go_v on_o in_o any_o sin_n against_o god_n commandment_n for_o the_o guard_n of_o his_o angel_n to_o his_o child_n while_o they_o keep_v themselves_o in_o their_o way_n if_o therefore_o thou_o will_v have_v this_o protection_n thou_o must_v keep_v thyself_o in_o those_o way_n that_o god_n will_v have_v thou_o to_o walk_v in_o also_o in_o theri_fw-la hesse_z of_o his_o love_n god_n have_v make_v a_o promise_n of_o everlasting_a life_n with_o freedom_n from_o eternal_a perdition_n to_o those_o that_o believe_v in_o christ_n john_n 3._o 16._o thou_o therefore_o that_o will_v enjoy_v the_o comfort_n of_o this_o promise_n to_o thy_o immortality_n and_o life_n title_n to_o the_o promise_n peter_n tell_v simon_n magus_n plain_o he_o have_v no_o part_n with_o they_o in_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n while_o his_o heart_n retain_v a_o purpose_n to_o live_v in_o sin_n act._n 8._o 21._o break_v off_o therefore_o the_o course_n of_o sin_n and_o inure_v thyself_o to_o the_o practice_n of_o obedience_n so_o shall_v god_n promise_n be_v sweet_a unto_o thy_o heart_n and_o the_o more_o thou_o proceed_v in_o obedience_n the_o more_o comfort_n thou_o shall_v find_v in_o god_n gracious_a promise_n but_o if_o thou_o do_v lay_v hold_n on_o sin_n the_o comfort_n of_o the_o word_n will_v depart_v from_o thou_o and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o second_o temptation_n verse_n 8._o again_o the_o devil_n take_v he_o up_o into_o a_o exceed_a high_a mountain_n and_o
