it_o far_o unto_o a_o understanding_n of_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o be_v in_o the_o community_n of_o believer_n yet_o be_v there_o place_n remain_v for_o a_o eminency_n therein_o by_o virtue_n of_o a_o especial_a spiritual_a gift_n and_o as_o to_o what_o he_o add_v about_o knowledge_n puff_v up_o he_o expound_v in_o the_o next_o word_n if_o any_o man_n think_v that_o he_o know_v any_o thing_n he_o know_v nothing_o yet_o as_o he_o ought_v to_o know_v ver._n 2._o it_o be_v not_o man_n knowledge_n but_o the_o vain_a and_o proud_a conceit_n of_o ignorant_a man_n suppose_v be_v continue_v he_o who_o give_v some_o apostle_n and_o some_o prophet_n and_o some_o evangelist_n give_v also_o some_o pastor_n and_o teacher_n and_o as_o he_o furnish_v the_o former_a with_o extraordinary_a gift_n so_o as_o far_o as_o any_o thing_n of_o the_o like_a kind_n be_v needful_a for_o the_o continual_a edification_n of_o the_o church_n he_o bestow_v it_o on_o the_o latter_a also_o as_o shall_v be_v declare_v §_o 3._o and_o these_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n add_v unto_o his_o grace_n in_o real_a holiness_n be_v the_o glory_n honour_n and_o beauty_n of_o the_o church_n of_o old_a man_n have_v but_o deceive_v themselves_o and_o other_o when_o they_o have_v seign_v a_o glory_n and_o beauty_n of_o the_o church_n in_o other_o thing_n and_o whatever_o any_o think_v or_o say_v where_o these_o gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o be_v the_o ornament_n of_o the_o church_n her_o clothing_n of_o wrought_a gold_n and_o her_o raiment_n of_o needlework_n be_v neglect_v and_o lose_v and_o they_o think_v to_o adorn_v she_o with_o the_o meritricious_a paint_n of_o pompous_a ceremony_n with_o outward_a grandeur_n wealth_n and_o power_n she_o be_v utter_o fall_v from_o her_o chastity_n purity_n and_o integrity_n but_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o this_o be_v the_o state_n of_o many_o church_n in_o the_o world_n which_o be_v therefore_o worldly_a and_o carnal_a not_o spiritual_a or_o evangelical_n power_n and_o force_v and_o wealth_n the_o gift_n in_o this_o case_n of_o another_o spirit_n under_o various_a pretence_n and_o name_n be_v their_o life_n and_o glory_n indeed_o their_o death_n and_o shame_n i_o deny_v not_o but_o that_o it_o be_v lawful_a for_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o enjoy_v earthly_a possession_n which_o they_o do_v attain_v by_o any_o commendable_a way_n among_o other_o men._n neither_o be_v they_o require_v unless_o in_o extraordinary_a case_n to_o part_v with_o the_o right_n and_o use_v of_o their_o temporal_a good_n because_o once_o dream_v of_o that_o new_a kind_n of_o beauty_n glory_n and_o power_n consist_v in_o numberless_a superstitious_a ceremony_n instead_o of_o religious_a worship_n worldly_a grandeur_n instead_o of_o humility_n and_o self-denial_n and_o open_a tyranny_n over_o the_o conscience_n and_o person_n of_o man_n in_o the_o room_n of_o spiritual_a authority_n effectual_a in_o the_o power_n of_o
