this_o work_n thrive_v in_o the_o soul_n so_o do_v the_o work_n of_o sanctification_n prosper_v in_o and_o upon_o we_o therefore_o whatsoever_o do_v conduce_v to_o the_o perfect_a or_o advance_v the_o work_n of_o humiliation_n in_o the_o soul_n must_v needs_o help_v forward_o the_o true_a fear_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o the_o work_n of_o sanctification_n but_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o do_v more_o natural_o humble_v the_o soul_n than_o a_o true_a sight_n of_o god_n this_o we_o may_v see_v isa_n 6.5_o then_o say_v i_o woe_n be_v i_o because_o i_o be_o a_o man_n of_o unclean_a lip_n and_o i_o dwell_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o a_o people_n of_o unclean_a lip_n for_o my_o eye_n have_v see_v the_o king_n the_o lord_n of_o host_n and_o in_o job_n 42.5_o 6._o i_o have_v hear_v of_o thou_o upon_o they_o but_o he_o be_v take_v up_o in_o eye_v the_o letter_n and_o word_n and_o thing_n which_o he_o discern_v through_o they_o this_o be_v the_o true_a use_n of_o the_o creature_n to_o look_v through_o it_o and_o not_o to_o be_v bound_v and_o terminate_v in_o it_o and_o the_o soul_n that_o set_v the_o lord_n much_o before_o he_o learn_v thus_o to_o pass_v through_o every_o thing_n unto_o the_o lord_n who_o be_v the_o centre_n of_o his_o thought_n and_o by_o do_v so_o the_o affection_n be_v fix_v with_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o it_o take_v little_a notice_n of_o the_o creature_n which_o it_o pass_v by_o have_v a_o more_o excellent_a object_n in_o his_o eye_n if_o we_o consider_v it_o in_o the_o second_o way_n propound_v than_o it_o crucifi_v the_o world_n thus_o it_o look_v down_o from_o the_o lord_n to_o the_o creature_n and_o so_o it_o behold_v it_o at_o a_o disadvantage_n and_o this_o view_n of_o the_o creature_n either_o lessen_v it_o or_o darken_v it_o as_o we_o see_v if_o a_o man_n behold_v any_o thing_n from_o the_o top_n of_o some_o high_a tower_n it_o seem_v very_o small_a to_o he_o what_o it_o do_v to_o he_o that_o stand_v level_a with_o it_o so_o it_o be_v with_o man_n that_o converse_v with_o god_n and_o walk_v with_o god_n they_o behold_v the_o creature_n afar_o off_o and_o much_o beneath_o they_o and_o they_o seem_v not_o so_o big_a to_o they_o as_o they_o do_v to_o those_o who_o stand_v upon_o the_o earth_n for_o by_o this_o mean_v the_o creature_n be_v darken_v as_o we_o find_v by_o example_n that_o if_o a_o man_n look_v steady_o on_o the_o sun_n he_o shall_v find_v a_o mist_n upon_o every_o thing_n that_o he_o behold_v immediate_o after_o so_o let_v a_o soul_n that_o have_v be_v contemplate_v and_o consider_v the_o goodness_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n take_v a_o view_n present_o of_o the_o creature_n and_o how_o cloudy_a and_o misty_a will_v it_o appear_v four_o it_o stir_v up_o choice_n breathe_n and_o long_n after_o god_n and_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o the_o soul_n by_o lie_v on_o god_n in_o christ_n begin_v to_o see_v he_o as_o the_o only_a desirable_a one_o the_o choice_n good_a the_o suitable_a and_o the_o satisfy_a good_a and_o from_o hence_o proceed_v choice_n breathe_n after_o he_o see_v one_o of_o these_o psalm_n 27.4_o one_o thing_n have_v i_o desire_v of_o the_o lord_n that_o will_v i_o seek_v any_o of_o the_o saint_n record_v as_o of_o david_n and_o indeed_o there_o be_v enough_o speak_v of_o he_o to_o testify_v he_o to_o be_v a_o man_n of_o the_o choice_a affection_n and_o one_o reason_n of_o this_o be_v as_o i_o shall_v afterward_o show_v you_o from_o hence_o he_o be_v a_o constant_a eyer_n of_o god_n he_o be_v still_o in_o his_o thought_n from_o hence_o do_v so_o many_o sweet_a its_o exercise_n the_o soul_n be_v not_o deprive_v only_o of_o the_o relish_n which_o it_o have_v of_o carnal_a thing_n but_o even_o of_o spiritual_a one_o also_o the_o reason_n why_o we_o shall_v enjoy_v so_o much_o more_o of_o god_n in_o heaven_n than_o we_o do_v or_o can_v do_v here_o be_v because_o our_o body_n shall_v be_v fit_v to_o our_o soul_n we_o shall_v have_v none_o of_o the_o not_o because_o his_o palate_n be_v weak_a and_o he_o can_v taste_v the_o sweetness_n that_o be_v in_o they_o old_a age_n be_v the_o sickness_n of_o nature_n then_o she_o begin_v to_o be_v feeble_a and_o it_o can_v be_v expect_v that_o the_o soul_n can_v act_v at_o the_o same_o rate_n either_o in_o natural_n or_o spiritual_n which_o it_o do_v when_o it_o be_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o its_o foundation_n but_o i_o shall_v lay_v down_o as_o safe_o and_o as_o cautious_o yet_o as_o plain_o as_o i_o can_v what_o we_o be_v to_o conceive_v of_o the_o ability_n and_o will_n of_o man_n in_o this_o point_n first_o it_o suppose_v that_o man_n who_o perish_v do_v not_o do_v what_o they_o can_v they_o do_v not_o exercise_v and_o improve_v that_o power_n which_o they_o have_v i_o suppose_v the_o difference_n betwixt_o natural_a and_o spiritual_a ability_n be_v discover_v in_o the_o parable_n of_o the_o talent_n he_o that_o have_v the_o single_a talon_n hide_v it_o when_o they_o who_o of_o will_n as_o as_o be_v mention_v god_n have_v leave_v it_o free_a but_o his_o own_o corruption_n have_v not_o leave_v it_o indifferent_a to_o good_a or_o evil_n but_o strong_o incline_v it_o to_o the_o latter_a and_o if_o the_o natural_a man_n stand_v in_o such_o a_o indifferency_n to_o good_a or_o evil_n it_o be_v very_o strange_a that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v speak_v so_o of_o the_o whole_a lump_n of_o mankind_n rom._n 3.10_o 11_o 12._o there_o be_v none_o that_o seek_v after_o god_n there_o be_v none_o that_o do_v good_a no_o not_o one_o it_o be_v strange_a that_o none_o shall_v choose_v the_o right_a way_n if_o they_o stand_v all_o indifferent_a three_o we_o see_v the_o renew_a man_n stand_v not_o in_o such_o a_o indifferency_n for_o grace_v which_o do_v not_o destroy_v the_o liberty_n of_o the_o will_n incline_v it_o to_o good_n we_o find_v that_o the_o will_v renew_v be_v the_o very_a seat_n of_o grace_n and_o holiness_n rom._n 7.18_o to_o will_n be_v present_a and_o the_o same_o apostle_n say_v with_o my_o mind_n i_o serve_v the_o law_n of_o god_n sure_o by_o his_o mind_n he_o proper_o mean_v his_o will_n that_o be_v strong_o move_v towards_o god_n and_o he_o can_v see_v grace_n there_o although_o he_o can_v see_v it_o not_o where_o else_o ver_fw-la 18._o in_o my_o body_n dwell_v no_o good_a thing_n saint_n see_v grace_n in_o their_o will_n which_o do_v support_v they_o against_o the_o corruption_n which_o they_o see_v in_o every_o part_n beside_o and_o by_o the_o rule_n of_o contrary_n if_o grace_n be_v most_o in_o the_o regenerate_v will_n corruption_n be_v most_o in_o the_o unregenerate_a will_n but_o this_o the_o natural_a man_n will_v not_o take_v notice_n of_o so_o that_o its_o manifest_a that_o although_o man_n in_o innocency_n in_o his_o fall_v and_o in_o his_o renew_a state_n have_v liberty_n in_o their_o will_n yet_o none_o of_o they_o have_v that_o liberty_n which_o consist_v in_o a_o indifferency_n to_o good_a or_o evil_n first_o for_o adam_n in_o innocency_n have_v liberty_n to_o choose_v good_a or_o evil_n but_o he_o be_v dispose_v and_o incline_v to_o good_a eccles_n 7.29_o god_n make_v man_n upright_o of_o god_n in_o their_o heart_n whatever_o come_v in_o to_o check_v the_o soul_n in_o the_o way_n of_o sin_n be_v a_o unwelcome_a guest_n so_o long_o as_o the_o will_n remain_v corrupt_v and_o taint_v and_o the_o will_n cast_v but_o the_o light_n of_o the_o understanding_n and_o the_o conviction_n of_o conscience_n as_o the_o mariner_n do_v pump_v out_o the_o water_n which_o break_v in_o upon_o they_o balaam_n have_v a_o clear_a knowledge_n of_o the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n but_o his_o will_n be_v for_o covetousness_n felix_n have_v a_o clear_a conviction_n of_o judgement_n to_o come_v but_o his_o will_n be_v for_o his_o corruption_n and_o therefore_o he_o resolve_v to_o stop_v the_o mouth_n of_o conscience_n by_o send_v paul_n away_o the_o will_n deal_v with_o the_o light_n of_o truth_n as_o the_o sore_a eye_n deal_v with_o the_o sun_n shut_v the_o window_n to_o keep_v it_o out_o because_o it_o offend_v john_n 3.17_o man_n love_v darkness_n rather_o than_o light_n
because_o their_o deed_n be_v evil_a they_o be_v set_v to_o do_v wicked_o and_o they_o resolve_v to_o do_v it_o quiet_o but_o when_o god_n work_v upon_o his_o elect_n he_o begin_v with_o their_o
