to_o be_v commit_v to_o some_o prison_n until_o the_o same_o be_v pay_v and_o by_o the_o statute_n 23_o el._n ch._n 1._o every_o person_n not_o repair_v to_o church_n according_a to_o the_o statute_n aforesaid_a shall_v forfeit_v twenty_o pound_n for_o every_o month_n they_o so_o make_v default_n and_o if_o the_o offender_n be_v not_o able_a to_o pay_v and_o do_v not_o pay_v within_o three_o month_n after_o judgement_n then_o to_o be_v commit_v to_o prison_n and_o there_o to_o remain_v until_o he_o have_v satisfy_v the_o same_o or_o shall_v conform_v himself_o and_o go_v to_o the_o church_n by_o the_o statute_n 3_o jac._n 1._o ch._n 4._o the_o king_n may_v refuse_v the_o twenty_o pound_n a_o month_n for_o absent_v from_o the_o church_n and_o take_v in_o lieu_n thereof_o two_o three_o part_n of_o the_o absenter_n land_n and_o lease_n but_o here_o he_o shall_v not_o include_v the_o recusants_n mansion-house_n nor_o demise_n the_o two_o three_o part_n to_o a_o recusant_n or_o to_o any_o other_o for_o a_o recusants_n use_n the_o churchwarden_n and_o constable_n of_o every_o parish_n or_o one_o of_o they_o or_o if_o there_o be_v none_o such_o then_o the_o high-constable_n of_o the_o hundred_o there_o shall_v present_v once_o every_o year_n at_o the_o general_a session_n of_o the_o peace_n the_o monthly_a absence_n from_o church_n of_o every_o popish_a recusant_n and_o then_o child_n be_v above_o the_o age_n of_o nine_o year_n and_o their_o servant_n together_o with_o the_o age_n of_o their_o child_n as_o near_o as_o they_o can_v know_v they_o on_o pain_n to_o forfeit_v respective_o for_o every_o such_o default_n twenty_o shilling_n which_o presentment_n the_o clerk_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o town-clerk_n shall_v record_v without_o fee_n on_o pain_n of_o forty_o shilling_n if_o upon_o such_o presentment_n be_v the_o first_o the_o recusant_n be_v convict_v the_o officer_n that_o present_v he_o shall_v have_v forty_o shilling_n reward_n to_o be_v levy_v by_o warrant_n upon_o the_o recusants_n good_n and_o estate_n as_o the_o more_o part_n of_o the_o justice_n of_o peace_n shall_v think_v fit_a but_o note_v that_o his_o majesty_n protestant_a subject_n dissent_v from_o the_o church_n of_o england_n and_o qualify_v according_a to_o the_o late_a statute_n of_o indulgence_n be_v exempt_v from_o the_o penalty_n of_o these_o statute_n the_o command_n of_o the_o sabbath_n have_v a_o special_a memento_n prefix_v to_o it_o which_o may_v not_o only_o note_v to_o we_o that_o we_o be_v by_o this_o memento_n remember_v thou_o keep_v holy_a the_o sabbath-day_n to_o observe_v the_o lord_n zeal_n for_o the_o observance_n thereof_o but_o we_o be_v thereby_o put_v in_o mind_n timely_a to_o lay_v aside_o our_o worldly_a business_n and_o get_v our_o heart_n into_o readiness_n for_o the_o entertainment_n of_o god_n into_o the_o same_o and_o although_o nothing_o be_v more_o acceptable_a to_o god_n than_o the_o true_a and_o sincere_a worship_n and_o service_n of_o he_o according_a to_o his_o holy_a will_n and_o that_o the_o holy_a keep_n of_o the_o lord's-day_n be_v a_o principal_a part_n of_o the_o true_a worship_n and_o service_n of_o god_n yet_o the_o people_n of_o this_o kingdom_n have_v enjoy_v a_o long_a continue_a series_n of_o peace_n plenty_n and_o prosperity_n instead_o of_o render_v thanks_o to_o almighty_a god_n for_o this_o great_a blessing_n and_o of_o serve_v he_o in_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n of_o life_n and_o conversation_n they_o on_o the_o contrary_a like_o the_o idolatrous_a jew_n upon_o the_o make_n of_o their_o golden-calf_n they_o sit_v down_o to_o eat_v and_o drink_v and_o rise_v up_o to_o play_v exod._n 32._o 6._o 1_o cor._n 10._o 7._o nay_o the_o people_n of_o this_o realm_n be_v so_o entire_o devote_v to_o game_n and_o pastime_n that_o they_o can_v not_o or_o will_v not_o forbear_v they_o upon_o the_o lord_n day_n but_o spend_v that_o
