doctrine_n for_o we_o have_v here_o the_o sum_n of_o the_o whole_a gospel_n therefore_o we_o will_v have_v you_o thus_o take_v notice_n first_o we_o have_v man_n misery_n second_o you_o have_v the_o redeemer_n set_v out_o there_o three_o you_o have_v a_o peace_n of_o man_n redemption_n out_o of_o misery_n four_o you_o have_v the_o benefit_n and_o purchase_v set_v out_o last_o you_o have_v the_o ground_n of_o all_o this_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n now_o than_o i_o have_v five_o point_n of_o doctrine_n to_o speak_v a_o word_n short_o to_o from_o this_o that_o we_o have_v read_v and_o we_o shall_v labour_v to_o keep_v with_o your_o ordinary_a time_n the_o first_o thing_n than_o be_v this_o that_o by_o nature_n elect_a sinner_n all_o be_v well_o as_o other_o be_v in_o a_o very_a sad_a and_o lose_a estate_n it_o be_v not_o only_o the_o world_n that_o be_v here_o call_v their_o transgressor_n and_o enemy_n but_o it_o be_v even_o those_o that_o the_o lord_n have_v choose_v out_o of_o the_o world_n to_o save_v i_o say_v that_o even_o the_o elect_a people_n of_o god_n be_v by_o nature_n lie_v in_o a_o very_a deplorable_a condition_n wherein_o stand_v the_o sadness_n of_o their_o case_n but_o we_o have_v oft_o have_v occasion_n to_o speak_v to_o it_o and_o therefore_o we_o shall_v be_v but_o very_o short_a on_o it_o yet_o there_o be_v three_o thing_n there_o be_v first_o mickle_n corrupon_o of_o the_o whole_a nature_n and_o there_o be_v our_o actual_a transgression_n whereby_o we_o be_v defile_v enemy_n to_o god_n liable_a to_o his_o curse_n and_o wrath_n to_o all_o eternity_n this_o be_v the_o case_n of_o all_o the_o elect_n man_n and_o woman_n there_o be_v no_o ground_n then_o wherefore_o a_o sinner_n that_o god_n have_v show_v mercy_n upon_o have_v to_o boast_v of_o if_o he_o look_v to_o the_o rock_n from_o whence_o they_o be_v hew_v we_o will_v find_v it_o just_a our_o state_n that_o be_v the_o state_n of_o the_o wicked_a world_n that_o get_v hell_n jesus_n christ_n the_o son_n of_o god_n the_o second_o person_n of_o the_o trinity_n he_o for_o the_o salvation_n of_o lose_a sinner_n undertake_v many_o a_o great_a suffer_v all_o their_o expression_n hold_v out_o this_o and_o we_o may_v safe_o find_v a_o doctrine_n upon_o this_o word_n look_v to_o the_o whole_a chapter_n and_o you_o will_v see_v it_o clear_a for_o who_o it_o be_v that_o he_o suffer_v even_o the_o elect_a world_n christ_n you_o see_v suffer_v for_o they_o that_o give_v he_o no_o thanks_o he_o suffer_v for_o they_o that_o help_v on_o his_o suffering_n he_o be_v despise_v and_o count_v smite_v of_o god_n by_o they_o that_o think_v nothing_o of_o he_o they_o see_v no_o beauty_n nor_o comeliness_n in_o he_o it_o be_v even_o for_o they_o that_o he_o suffer_v i_o shall_v speak_v more_o particular_o to_o this_o doctrine_n in_o their_o thing_n first_o i_o shall_v show_v what_o great_a suffering_n our_o lord_n undergo_v for_o to_o bring_v heal_v and_o peace_n unto_o sinner_n second_o for_o who_o it_o be_v he_o undergo_v these_o suffering_n do_v our_o lord_n undergo_v such_o suffering_n for_o sinner_n to_o fall_v upon_o this_o be_v a_o very_a great_a head_n to_o speak_v to_o to_o tell_v you_o what_o he_o suffer_v in_o his_o conception_n and_o to_o tell_v you_o what_o he_o suffer_v when_o he_o be_v bring_v forth_o into_o the_o world_n in_o his_o childhood_n to_o tell_v you_o what_o he_o suffer_v before_o he_o enter_v upon_o his_o public_a ministry_n and_o to_o tell_v you_o what_o he_o suffer_v when_o he_o be_v take_v and_o arraign_v and_o bring_v before_o the_o judgement-seat_n of_o herod_n and_o pilate_n and_o condemn_v and_o to_o tell_v you_o what_o he_o suffer_v upon_o his_o rody_n and_o what_o he_o suffer_v upon_o his_o soul_n i_o say_v it_o will_v take_v very_o much_o time_n and_o we_o will_v but_o spill_v it_o in_o the_o speak_n too_o and_o therefore_o i_o recommend_v unto_o you_o the_o last_o chapter_n of_o matthew_n and_o the_o last_o chapter_n of_o luke_n and_o the_o last_o chapter_n of_o john_n and_o unto_o that_o which_o be_v here_o record_v of_o he_o by_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n ay_o but_o i_o shall_v tell_v you_o of_o some_o thing_n wherein_o his_o suffering_n appear_v to_o be_v very_o great_a and_o we_o may_v judge_v by_o their_o thing_n i_o pray_v you_o sir_n take_v heed_n first_o consider_v what_o be_v the_o debt_n that_o he_o undertake_v to_o pay_v it_o be_v not_o the_o debt_n of_o one_o or_o two_o but_o even_o of_o the_o whole_a elect_n man_n and_o woman_n many_o thousand_o million_o of_o they_o many_o thousand_o of_o they_o that_o can_v be_v count_v it_o be_v that_o which_o he_o suffer_v that_o they_o shall_v have_v suffer_v throw_v
as_o to_o die_v for_o sinner_n we_o can_v tell_v what_o call_v for_o wonder_v and_o this_o call_v not_o for_o wonder_v from_o we_o o_o the_o height_n o_o the_o breadth_n o_o the_o length_n o_o the_o depth_n of_o this_o mystery_n that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n shall_v have_v be_v put_v so_o sore_o to_o it_o as_o to_o die_v for_o sinner_n and_o not_o only_o to_o die_v but_o to_o drink_v the_o cup_n second_o i_o shall_v say_v this_o from_o it_o by_o way_n 〈◊〉_d exhortation_n be_v it_o so_o that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v put_v to_o so_o great_a suffering_n wa_n then_o i_o will_v exhort_v you_o to_o look_v how_o you_o shall_v look_v upon_o sin_n if_o sin_n shall_v not_o be_v very_o detestable_a to_o you_o and_o very_o abominable_a if_o you_o shall_v not_o be_v at_o very_a much_o pain_n to_o forsake_v sin_n that_o bring_v our_o bless_a lord_n jesus_n christ_n to_o undergo_v such_o great_a suffering_n which_o will_v have_v bring_v you_o to_o such_o sad_a condemnation_n now_o there_o be_v some_o of_o they_o that_o affirm_v that_o he_o be_v rise_v yet_o still_o they_o think_v it_o be_v but_o a_o notion_n and_o a_o mistake_v although_o there_o be_v angel_n come_v down_o from_o heaven_n and_o give_v testimony_n that_o he_o be_v rise_v yet_o some_o of_o they_o can_v not_o believe_v that_o but_o when_o he_o come_v in_o among_o they_o what_o say_v he_o to_o thomas_n even_o that_o which_o he_o say_v to_o we_o the_o day_n he_o hold_v out_o his_o hand_n and_o the_o hole_n that_o be_v in_o his_o side_n he_o show_v forth_o his_o hand_n and_o his_o side_n and_o say_v be_v not_o faithless_a but_o believe_v and_o that_o be_v the_o thing_n reach_v hither_o your_o hand_n into_o the_o hole_n of_o my_o side_n and_o be_v not_o faithless_a but_o believe_v and_o that_o be_v the_o thing_n that_o i_o be_o come_v here_o for_o the_o day_n as_o a_o messenger_n of_o the_o live_a god_n to_o let_v you_o see_v this_o day_n the_o wonderful_a condescend_v love_n of_o christ_n and_o to_o say_v unto_o you_o reach_v hither_o the_o hand_n of_o your_o faith_n and_o take_v a_o look_n of_o this_o bloody_a saviour_n who_o be_v crucify_a come_v put_v in_o your_o finger_n put_v in_o your_o hand_n in_o the_o hole_n of_o that_o bloody_a side_n of_o he_o and_o be_v not_o faithless_a but_o believe_v that_o be_v the_o great_a thing_n that_o christ_n call_v for_o that_o be_v the_o great_a end_n wherefore_o he_o will_v have_v his_o suffering_n tell_v we_o wherefore_o that_o it_o may_v bring_v his_o people_n to_o a_o close_a with_o he_o to_o give_v he_o credit_n and_o to_o believe_v in_o he_o therefore_o now_o we_o come_v here_o and_o that_o which_o we_o say_v to_o you_o we_o bid_v you_o reach_v hither_o your_o hand_n and_o be_v not_o faithless_a but_o believe_v that_o be_v the_o great_a end_n wherefore_o he_o will_v have_v his_o suffering_n tell_v to_o close_o with_o this_o suffer_a lord_n jesus_n christ_n come_v to_o he_o and_o be_v no_o more_o faithless_a but_o believe_v and_o say_v with_o that_o man_n thomas_n my_o lord_n and_o my_o god_n whenever_o that_o be_v present_v to_o he_o he_o can_v no_o long_o stand_v out_o and_o this_o argument_n prevail_v not_o with_o you_o i_o wonder_v what_o will_v prevail_v with_o you_o when_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n be_v lay_v out_o unto_o you_o therefore_o say_v thomas_n my_o lord_n and_o my_o god_n i_o can_v stand_v no_o long_o for_o now_o i_o have_v see_v the_o wonderful_a love_n of_o god_n now_o i_o see_v the_o wonderful_a love_n of_o christ_n which_o make_v he_o undergo_v all_o these_o great_a suffering_n now_o i_o have_v see_v the_o wonderful_a excellency_n of_o a_o saviour_n now_o therefore_o sir_n you_o man_n give_v i_o leave_v to_o insist_v here_o a_o little_a in_o the_o do_n of_o it_o i_o summon_v you_o to_o come_v hither_o and_o stretch_v out_o your_o hand_n and_o be_v not_o faithless_a but_o believe_v i_o summon_v you_o whoremonger_n adulterer_n three_o thing_n that_o i_o shall_v short_o speak_v to_o in_o this_o exhortation_n and_o i_o shall_v labour_v to_o contain_v myself_o in_o all_o be_v little_a bound_n as_o i_o can_v in_o prosecute_n the_o three_o thing_n you_o must_v close_o deliberate_o and_o then_o four_o you_o must_v close_o with_o he_o cheerful_o and_o you_o must_v close_v with_o whole_a christ_n with_o your_o whole_a soul_n the_o whole_a soul_n must_v give_v its_o consent_n you_o must_v not_o close_o with_o he_o with_o your_o conscience_n only_o and_o with_o your_o affection_n only_o but_o you_o must_v close_v with_o
