triumph_v in_o our_o victory_n be_v nothing_o so_o good_a as_o to_o be_v constant_a and_o resolve_v notwithstanding_o that_o we_o be_v a_o little_a overcome_v in_o those_o spiritual_a consolation_n which_o we_o thirst_v after_o we_o do_v not_o always_o receive_v so_o much_o profit_n as_o we_o do_v pleasure_n but_o in_o the_o want_n of_o they_o if_o our_o will_n be_v thereby_o more_o perfect_o subdue_v to_o his_o we_o receive_v both_o a_o very_a great_a benefit_n and_o in_o the_o issue_n no_o small_a pleasure_n you_o have_v see_v perhaps_o or_o you_o may_v imagine_v the_o smoke_n of_o a_o potter_n furnace_n how_o thick_a and_o black_a it_o be_v as_o if_o it_o will_v make_v a_o picture_n of_o hell_n itself_o who_o will_v think_v that_o the_o vessel_n of_o clay_n which_o be_v bake_v there_o will_v not_o be_v burn_v to_o ash_n by_o the_o fury_n of_o the_o fire_n or_o that_o at_o lest_o they_o will_v come_v out_o as_o black_a as_o soot_n by_o the_o foulness_n of_o the_o smoke_n and_o yet_o when_o the_o fire_n be_v put_v out_o and_o the_o vessel_n unfurnace_v you_o see_v there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n but_o that_o which_o be_v soft_a and_o yield_a be_v become_v hard_a and_o strong_a and_o its_o complexion_n likewise_o be_v so_o much_o mend_v that_o a_o prince_n need_v not_o disdain_v the_o use_n of_o some_o of_o these_o cup_n just_o thus_o it_o be_v with_o a_o distress_a soul_n when_o it_o be_v cover_v with_o a_o cloud_n and_o wrap_v in_o darkness_n and_o burn_v thereby_o in_o a_o great_a and_o sore_a displeasure_n against_o itself_o it_o be_v apt_a to_o think_v that_o this_o sure_a be_v the_o gate_n of_o hell_n that_o it_o be_v forsake_v of_o god_n and_o shall_v either_o perish_v in_o this_o condition_n or_o not_o escape_v out_o of_o it_o without_o much_o loss_n but_o after_o a_o while_n when_o the_o work_n of_o god_n be_v do_v and_o the_o vapour_n be_v vanish_v and_o disappear_v it_o find_v itself_o to_o be_v grow_v much_o in_o firmness_n purity_n and_o splendour_n and_o that_o it_o be_v make_v a_o vessel_n of_o honour_n fit_a for_o the_o master_n use_n there_o be_v no_o loss_n of_o any_o thing_n but_o of_o its_o self-will_n nothing_o be_v consume_v but_o its_o softness_n and_o delicacy_n which_o make_v it_o loath_a to_o be_v touch_v the_o like_a may_v be_v say_v of_o many_o little_a passion_n and_o disorderly_a desire_n to_o which_o our_o frail_a nature_n be_v subject_a if_o we_o can_v free_v ourselves_o from_o one_o inordinate_a passion_n which_o be_v a_o too_o vehement_a desire_n to_o be_v quite_o rid_v of_o they_o it_o may_v bring_v we_o little_a less_o peace_n than_o if_o we_o be_v and_o our_o profit_v will_v no_o less_o appear_v in_o continue_v still_o to_o do_v our_o duty_n of_o which_o we_o complain_v that_o they_o be_v so_o great_a a_o hindrance_n however_o there_o be_v no_o reason_n for_o such_o conclusion_n as_o those_o which_o good_a mind_n have_v be_v apt_a to_o make_v in_o a_o gloomy_a day_n that_o if_o god_n love_v they_o he_o will_v not_o treat_v they_o after_o that_o manner_n there_o be_v rather_o great_a reason_n consider_v what_o have_v be_v say_v to_o be_v not_o only_o patient_a but_o thankful_a to_o he_o in_o such_o a_o condition_n for_o it_o be_v not_o inconsistent_a with_o his_o care_n and_o infinite_a kindness_n to_o let_v we_o be_v obnoxious_a to_o those_o change_n and_o those_o weakness_n too_o which_o i_o have_v mention_v but_o you_o see_v plain_o it_o must_v be_v so_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v best_o to_o be_v well_o please_v with_o these_o method_n of_o our_o heavenly_a father_n at_o least_o content_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o and_o let_v i_o add_v this_o for_o a_o conclusion_n of_o this_o discourse_n that_o god_n may_v suffer_v some_o person_n to_o be_v thus_o overcast_v with_o darkness_n and_o he_o may_v withhold_v his_o gracious_a influence_n from_o they_o for_o the_o sin_n of_o their_o former_a life_n before_o they_o be_v convert_v which_o deserve_v he_o shall_v never_o have_v afford_v his_o grace_n unto_o they_o at_o all_o what_o be_v we_o shall_v such_o man_n say_v that_o we_o shall_v expect_v to_o live_v always_o under_o the_o eclipse_v or_o rather_o that_o our_o life_n be_v but_o one_o long_a night_n than_o to_o complain_v that_o a_o cloud_n sometime_o pass_v over_o we_o or_o a_o mist_n gather_v about_o we_o it_o be_v but_o fit_a that_o we_o shall_v be_v hereby_o teach_v what_o it_o be_v to_o sin_n against_o god_n and_o it_o be_v well_o for_o we_o that_o we_o be_v not_o send_v to_o learn_v it_o in_o outer_a darkness_n we_o be_v not_o ill_o deal_v withal_o if_o we_o can_v learn_v at_o so_o cheap_a a_o rate_n the_o value_n of_o pardon_v mercy_n but_o shall_v have_v cause_n in_o heaven_n to_o praise_n god_n that_o we_o pay_v no_o dear_a for_o it_o be_v this_o all_o the_o punishment_n that_o be_v due_a for_o our_o many_o fault_n do_v he_o not_o use_v we_o very_o kind_o if_o we_o be_v not_o quite_o cast_v out_o of_o his_o presence_n o_o what_o a_o joy_n will_v it_o be_v to_o we_o to_o find_v that_o we_o be_v in_o his_o favour_n in_o the_o other_o world_n and_o we_o may_v be_v content_a if_o he_o please_v to_o stay_v for_o our_o joy_n till_o that_o time_n when_o we_o shall_v certain_o know_v whether_o we_o have_v reason_n to_o rejoice_v or_o no._n but_o i_o shall_v say_v no_o more_o of_o this_o to_o you_o who_o have_v spend_v your_o time_n so_o innocent_o and_o virtuous_o that_o there_o be_v reason_n you_o shall_v reap_v the_o fruit_n of_o it_o now_o in_o perpetual_a joy_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o heart_n from_o the_o consideration_n of_o god_n goodness_n to_o you_o and_o i_o have_v whole_o omit_v this_o last_o advice_n do_v not_o i_o know_v the_o weakness_n of_o humane_a mean_a and_o below_o the_o name_n and_o the_o authority_n which_o they_o bear_v from_o whence_o you_o may_v conclude_v how_o inconceivable_o great_a that_o reward_n will_v be_v which_o the_o majesty_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n will_v honour_v we_o withal_o if_o a_o prince_n do_v but_o send_v his_o charity_n to_o the_o poor_a it_o be_v not_o like_o one_o of_o we_o but_o like_o himself_o and_o therefore_o such_o will_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n be_v which_o he_o intend_v to_o deal_v to_o all_o his_o servant_n though_o they_o be_v but_o servant_n though_o they_o be_v but_o unprofitable_a servant_n and_o have_v do_v no_o more_o than_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o do_v yet_o he_o will_v reward_v they_o like_o a_o king_n like_o the_o king_n of_o all_o the_o world_n like_o the_o bless_a and_o only_a potentate_n the_o king_n of_o king_n and_o the_o lord_n of_o lord_n who_o only_o have_v immortality_n he_o will_v feast_v and_o entertain_v they_o suitable_o to_o the_o excellence_n of_o his_o what_o will_v thou_o do_v for_o we_o in_o the_o palace_n if_o thou_o grant_v such_o solace_n in_o the_o day_n of_o our_o tear_n what_o will_v thou_o give_v we_o on_o the_o day_n of_o our_o marriage_n when_o we_o shall_v not_o only_o behold_v jesus_n in_o all_o his_o glory_n but_o live_v with_o he_o and_o live_v with_o he_o for_o ever_o and_o receive_v the_o utmost_a effect_n of_o his_o mighty_a love_n and_o be_v prefer_v to_o sit_v with_o he_o in_o heavenly_a place_n and_o have_v a_o crown_n of_o righteousness_n set_v on_o our_o head_n which_o he_o the_o righteous_a judge_n will_v give_v to_o all_o those_o who_o love_v his_o appear_v and_o be_v there_o not_o great_a reason_n my_o friend_n that_o we_o shall_v love_v it_o and_o set_v our_o heart_n on_o this_o as_o the_o most_o desirable_a good_a which_o so_o far_o surpass_v all_o other_o that_o they_o have_v no_o power_n at_o all_o to_o tempt_v we_o from_o it_o while_o we_o keep_v in_o mind_n its_o incomparable_a greatness_n persuade_v yourself_o therefore_o as_o strong_o as_o you_o can_v that_o jesus_n live_v and_o that_o because_o he_o live_v you_o shall_v live_v also_o and_o that_o you_o shall_v live_v with_o he_o in_o inconceivable_a bliss_n according_a to_o his_o gracious_a promise_n believe_v they_o hearty_o fix_v they_o deep_o in_o your_o mind_n and_o by_o such_o art_n as_o these_o represent_v to_o yourself_o as_o sensible_o as_o you_o can_v how_o exceed_v precious_a they_o be_v for_o it_o be_v neither_o the_o certainty_n nor_o the_o goodness_n nor_o the_o greatness_n of_o any_o thing_n
