obey_v god_n shall_v always_o have_v pleasure_n that_o be_v outward_a comfort_n and_o contentment_n in_o this_o world_n many_o of_o the_o lord_n faithful_a servant_n have_v live_v in_o pain_n and_o sorrow_n so_o that_o if_o as_o david_n speak_v in_o this_o case_n psal_n 73.5_o we_o shall_v speak_v thus_o we_o shall_v offend_v against_o the_o generation_n of_o his_o servant_n some_o flourish_n in_o grace_n who_o wither_v in_o worldly_a comfort_n there_o be_v no_o certain_a connexion_n between_o these_o two_o grace_n and_o outward_a peace_n or_o pleasure_n the_o providence_n of_o god_n their_o basket_n and_o their_o store_n the_o fruit_n of_o the_o field_n etc._n etc._n these_o promise_n be_v suit_v to_o the_o state_n of_o that_o underage_n people_n who_o be_v lead_v on_o and_o entice_v by_o visible_a and_o sensible_a blessing_n as_o we_o do_v child_n with_o toy_n and_o gaudee_n and_o indeed_o all_o visible_a enjoyment_n be_v but_o such_o in_o comparison_n of_o spiritual_n believer_n under_o the_o gospel_n be_v come_v to_o a_o high_a state_n to_o full_a attainment_n the_o promise_n make_v to_o they_o run_v not_o much_o in_o that_o channel_n yet_o it_o can_v be_v deny_v that_o the_o gospel_n also_o hold_v out_o promise_n for_o temporal_n as_o well_o as_o the_o law_n and_o this_o latter_a dispensation_n of_o the_o covenant_n as_o well_o as_o the_o former_a have_v provide_v sufficient_o for_o our_o outward_a comfort_n three_o for_o answer_v let_v we_o consider_v the_o drift_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o this_o promise_n of_o pleasure_n job_n have_v often_o complain_v of_o his_o own_o sorrowful_a condition_n and_o conclude_v himself_o a_o man_n of_o sorrow_n for_o all_o the_o remainder_n of_o his_o day_n though_o his_o faith_n be_v strong_a for_o the_o resurrection_n of_o his_o body_n after_o death_n yet_o he_o have_v little_a if_o any_o faith_n at_o all_o that_o he_o shall_v be_v raise_v out_o of_o that_o miserable_a estate_n wherein_o he_o life_n do_v not_o consist_v in_o the_o abundance_n of_o that_o which_o he_o possess_v luke_o 12.15_o or_o in_o sense-pleasure_n but_o in_o that_o sweet_a composure_n and_o sedateness_n of_o his_o soul_n rest_v by_o faith_n in_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n or_o rather_o in_o the_o god_n of_o the_o promise_n and_o so_o suck_a sweetness_n from_o they_o last_o as_o though_o a_o servant_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v exercise_v with_o sorrow_n all_o the_o day_n of_o his_o life_n yet_o he_o can_v be_v say_v to_o spend_v his_o day_n in_o sorrow_n because_o he_o meet_v with_o many_o refresh_a intervall_n slight_v any_o thing_n that_o come_v by_o promise_n yea_o we_o shall_v high_o esteem_v those_o thing_n which_o consider_v in_o themselves_o be_v little_a worth_n as_o they_o come_v to_o we_o through_o the_o promise_n we_o may_v quick_o overrate_v and_o over-reckon_a outward_a thing_n in_o themselves_o and_o we_o ever_o do_v so_o if_o we_o rate_v or_o reckon_v they_o any_o better_a than_o vanity_n but_o as_o they_o be_v promise_v and_o bestow_v in_o a_o way_n of_o savour_n from_o god_n and_o as_o they_o be_v a_o part_n of_o the_o purchase_n of_o christ_n and_o hand_v to_o we_o by_o he_o so_o be_v even_o outward_a thing_n to_o believer_n thus_o they_o be_v very_o valuable_a upon_o these_o term_n to_o live_v and_o spend_v our_o day_n in_o good_a and_o our_o year_n in_o honest_a lawful_a pleasure_n be_v a_o great_a mercy_n from_o the_o whole_a take_v two_o corolary_n first_o how_o blasphemous_a then_o be_v their_o opinion_n who_o say_v it_o be_v a_o vain_a thing_n to_o serve_v the_o lord_n or_o that_o there_o be_v no_o profit_n in_o call_v upon_o he_o which_o blasphemy_n be_v resute_v chap._n 21.14_o second_o will_v we_o have_v a_o good_a end_n of_o or_o out-gate_n from_o our_o
