seem_v we_o labour_v in_o vain_a yet_o must_v we_o satisfy_v ourselves_o with_o the_o testimony_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n but_o if_o this_o consolation_n take_v no_o place_n in_o we_o then_o be_v it_o certain_a that_o we_o be_v not_o
for_o my_o sake_n give_v way_n not_o that_o it_o be_v seemly_a for_o the_o faithful_a to_o drive_v their_o brethren_n out_o of_o the_o place_n wherein_o they_o dwell_v but_o the_o prophet_n borrow_v withdraw_v from_o she_o the_o sign_n of_o his_o presence_n because_o of_o the_o world_n unthankfulnes_n who_o have_v nourish_v these_o those_o who_o be_v banish_v and_o often_o remove_v their_o habitation_n can_v not_o well_o nourish_v nor_o bring_v up_o child_n so_o when_o the_o law_n and_o doctrine_n of_o godliness_n sound_v no_o more_o in_o the_o temple_n spiritual_a nourishment_n must_v needs_o fail_v but_o the_o lord_n who_o stand_v in_o no_o need_n of_o humane_a help_n beget_v unto_o himself_o child_n after_o a_o extraordinary_a manner_n by_o the_o incredible_a virtue_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o these_o he_o nourish_v how_o and_o in_o what_o place_n it_o please_v he_o now_o to_o accomplish_v this_o pprophecy_n he_o have_v contrary_a to_o all_o hope_n raise_v up_o nurse_n so_o as_o the_o church_n admire_v not_o without_o cause_n at_o the_o foster_a and_o bring_v up_o of_o her_o child_n when_o we_o read_v this_o pprophecy_n we_o be_v admonish_v not_o to_o vex_v ourselves_o above_o measure_n if_o at_o any_o time_n we_o see_v the_o church_n lest_o like_o a_o widow_n use_v neither_o so_o far_o to_o give_v way_n to_o distrust_n as_o to_o think_v that_o god_n who_o be_v all_o sufficient_a can_v not_o in_o a_o moment_n renew_v and_o restore_v she_o to_o a_o perfect_a estate_n though_o for_o the_o present_a we_o see_v no_o likelihood_n nor_o appearance_n severe_a think_v that_o the_o wicked_a complain_v as_o if_o god_n deal_v too_o severe_o in_o that_o he_o spare_v not_o his_o people_n and_o handle_v they_o over_o rigorous_o they_o therefore_o think_v lord_n show_v some_o sign_n of_o his_o glory_n that_o we_o may_v bold_o rest_v upon_o it_o and_o therefore_o the_o prophet_n mean_v to_o arm_v the_o faithful_a against_o such_o a_o blasphemy_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o suffer_v their_o faith_n to_o be_v shake_v by_o the_o flout_n and_o mock_n of_o the_o wicked_a this_o place_n also_o may_v be_v take_v in_o this_o sense_n namely_o that_o the_o wicked_a promise_v themselves_o wonder_n and_o mountain_n as_o if_o by_o their_o good_a deed_n they_o have_v merit_v god_n favour_n which_o amos_n in_o chap._n 5.18_o reproach_v the_o jew_n withal_o to_o wit_n that_o they_o persuade_v themselves_o god_fw-we will_v be_v merciful_a unto_o they_o while_o they_o obstinate_o provoke_v the_o lord_n in_o as_o much_o then_o as_o under_o pretext_n of_o their_o sacrifice_n they_o despise_v all_o threaten_n and_o yet_o make_v their_o brag_n as_o if_o god_n will_v aid_v they_o the_o prophet_n answer_v that_o they_o shall_v see_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n but_o after_o another_o manner_n than_o they_o expect_v in_o a_o word_n it_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v the_o lord_n at_o his_o come_n will_v cause_v the_o faithful_a to_o know_v that_o their_o hope_n be_v not_o vain_a for_o he_o will_v appear_v with_o favour_n to_o the_o good_a but_o to_o their_o shame_n and_o destruction_n who_o affirm_v that_o he_o will_v come_v to_o maintain_v their_o impiety_n whereof_o he_o be_v the_o enemy_n and_o avenger_n the_o one_o sort_n shall_v enjoy_v gladness_n of_o heart_n and_o consolation_n but_o the_o other_o shame_n and_o confusion_n for_o they_o shall_v speedy_o taste_v of_o god_n vengeance_n at_o which_o they_o now_o jest_v verse_n 6._o a_o voice_n sound_v from_o the_o city_n even_o a_o voice_n from_o the_o temple_n the_o voice_n of_o the_o lord_n that_o recompense_v his_o enemy_n full_o he_o confirm_v the_o former_a sentence_n sentence_n a_o confirmation_n of_o the_o former_a sentence_n namely_o that_o god_n have_v not_o threaten_v in_o vain_a that_o he_o will_v quick_o come_v to_o punish_v the_o hypocrite_n
