careful_o to_o stand_v in_o watch_n against_o their_o infirmity_n lest_o it_o shall_v burst_v forth_o to_o the_o dishonour_n of_o god_n &_o likewise_o more_o hearty_o to_o require_v a_o ready_a and_o willing_a affection_n to_o procure_v the_o honour_n of_o his_o name_n by_o walk_v dutiful_o in_o this_o commandment_n and_o if_o the_o outward_a work_n of_o this_o commandment_n shall_v be_v attend_v upon_o of_o any_o never_o so_o diligent_o &_o yet_o god_n glory_n not_o seek_v therein_o it_o will_v profit_v we_o nothing_o for_o if_o we_o give_v man_n their_o due_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n deny_v the_o lord_n his_o what_o avail_v it_o we_o therefore_o those_o former_a four_o point_n wherein_o his_o glory_n consist_v contain_v in_o the_o former_a commandment_n must_v of_o necessity_n be_v join_v with_o all_o duty_n unto_o man_n which_o be_v first_o that_o we_o acknowledge_v all_o our_o welfare_n to_o come_v from_o the_o lord_n alone_o do_v depend_v whole_o and_o only_o upon_o he_o second_o that_o in_o love_n of_o he_o for_o his_o mercy_n we_o begin_v to_o obey_v he_o after_o his_o word_n three_o that_o his_o glory_n be_v the_o mark_n we_o shoot_v at_o make_v we_o careful_a in_o all_o our_o work_n so_o to_o do_v they_o as_o he_o may_v have_v honour_n by_o they_o four_o and_o last_o of_o all_o that_o in_o true_a acknowledge_v and_o travail_n in_o subdue_a of_o our_o own_o corruption_n which_o will_v not_o altogether_o be_v sunder_v from_o our_o way_n and_o work_n we_o humble_v ourselves_o in_o our_o best_a obedience_n that_o the_o lord_n may_v always_o retain_v the_o praise_n of_o the_o free_a and_o undeserved_a work_n of_o his_o grace_n now_o let_v we_o pray_v unto_o our_o heavenly_a father_n that_o we_o may_v true_o see_v and_o bewail_v the_o little_a reverence_n and_o regard_n that_o we_o have_v have_v both_o to_o superior_n and_o inferior_n become_v thereby_o not_o only_o unthankful_a unto_o they_o but_o also_o unto_o the_o lord_n who_o have_v place_v such_o grace_n for_o our_o benefit_n in_o they_o and_o let_v we_o crave_v of_o he_o that_o we_o may_v not_o only_o obtain_v more_o power_n to_o suppress_v the_o same_o but_o also_o may_v be_v enable_v from_o he_o to_o send_v abroad_o such_o fruit_n of_o true_a reverence_n and_o honour_n as_o may_v come_v to_o the_o sight_n &_o hear_v of_o many_o to_o the_o great_a praise_n of_o his_o name_n the_o six_o lecture_n upon_o the_o thirteen_o verse_n 13_o thou_o shall_v not_o kill_v the_o former_a commandment_n have_v give_v forth_o instruction_n for_o particular_a calling_n from_o which_o by_o reason_n of_o more_o particular_a employ_v of_o benefit_n mutualy_a one_o upon_o another_o there_o arise_v more_o particular_a duty_n of_o the_o one_o unto_o the_o other_o then_o that_o which_o every_o common_a man_n may_v claim_v unto_o himself_o now_o we_o be_v to_o be_v instruct_v in_o those_o duty_n that_o general_o we_o do_v owe_v unto_o all_o man_n amongst_o which_o this_o commandment_n of_o not_o kill_v have_v the_o first_o place_n wherein_o we_o be_v forbid_v to_o do_v any_o violence_n injury_n or_o wrong_n to_o the_o body_n &_o life_n of_o our_o neighbour_n and_o command_v to_o defend_v maintain_v and_o cherish_v the_o same_o it_o be_v to_o be_v observe_v that_o the_o lord_n bid_v we_o show_v forth_o love_n unto_o our_o neighbour_n have_v not_o leave_v it_o unto_o we_o to_o devise_v wherein_o to_o pleasure_v they_o but_o have_v set_v down_o what_o thing_n be_v most_o dear_a unto_o they_o that_o by_o our_o help_n give_v for_o the_o preservation_n of_o those_o thing_n safe_a unto_o they_o and_o in_o benefit_v they_o therein_o they_o may_v have_v true_a trial_n of_o the_o love_n and_o affection_n that_o we_o bear_v unto_o they_o our_o neighbour_n therefore_o in_o this_o consideration_n be_v not_o shut_v up_o in_o the_o alone_a flesh_n &_o blood_n of_o the_o man_n but_o the_o duty_n of_o neighbourhood_n reach_v unto_o the_o life_n and_o body_n wife_n good_n and_o good_a name_n of_o the_o man_n neither_o be_v love_v the_o not_o hate_v or_o not_o hurt_v of_o a_o man_n but_o the_o help_a and_o further_a of_o he_o to_o receive_v more_o comfort_n in_o those_o thing_n above_o recite_v over_o the_o which_o every_o man_n be_v so_o tender_a that_o be_v in_o any_o of_o those_o annoy_v he_o can_v no_o long_o account_v himself_o as_o a_o man_n love_v or_o regard_v of_o the_o author_n thereof_o for_o he_o himself_o be_v uphold_v in_o life_n and_o like_n by_o the_o comfort_n of_o they_o the_o lord_n in_o forbid_v murder_n forbiddith_v also_o all_o violence_n cruelty_n and_o wrath_n towards_o our_o neighbour_n labour_v in_o the_o detestation_n of_o this_o great_a evil_n to_o work_v in_o we_o a_o hatred_n towards_o all_o that_o be_v of_o any_o affinity_n with_o it_o and_o therefore_o not_o let_v we_o see_v they_o but_o in_o that_o form_n which_o may_v most_o fear_v we_o from_o they_o put_v upon_o they_o all_o that_o fearful_a form_n of_o murder_n the_o punishment_n of_o the_o offence_n against_o this_o commandment_n will_v help_v we_o to_o judge_v the_o greatness_n of_o the_o same_o touch_v the_o murderer_n it_o be_v say_v in_o leviticus_fw-la 24.17_o he_o that_o kill_v any_o man_n he_o shall_v be_v put_v to_o death_n violence_n burst_v forth_o into_o extremity_n of_o deal_v in_o the_o old_a law_n be_v punish_v with_o
