prophet_n will_v bring_v they_o to_o fall_v under_o those_o judgement_n which_o though_o foretell_v they_o will_v not_o foresee_v and_o so_o likewise_o by_o their_o be_v break_v the_o utter_a cut_v off_o some_o may_v be_v intend_v and_o by_o their_o be_v snare_v and_o take_v the_o captivity_n of_o other_o ver._n 14._o therefore_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n you_o scornful_a man_n that_o rule_v this_o people_n which_o be_v in_o jerusalem_n this_o be_v mean_v of_o the_o whole_a nation_n of_o the_o jew_n only_o he_o call_v they_o this_o people_n which_o be_v in_o jerusalem_n because_o thither_o they_o use_v to_o resort_v to_o worship_n god_n as_o his_o people_n and_o to_o imply_v that_o their_o scorn_v be_v the_o great_a sin_n because_o they_o pretend_v to_o be_v god_n peculiar_a people_n ver._n 15._o because_o you_o have_v say_v we_o have_v make_v a_o covenant_n with_o death_n and_o with_o hell_n be_v we_o at_o agreement_n etc._n etc._n that_o be_v because_o you_o think_v yourselves_o so_o secure_a as_o if_o you_o have_v make_v a_o covenant_n with_o death_n and_o hell_n or_o because_o you_o run_v on_o so_o bold_o in_o your_o wicked_a way_n slight_v the_o vengeance_n of_o god_n denounce_v against_o you_o that_o it_o be_v all_o one_o in_o effect_n as_o if_o you_o shall_v open_o say_v we_o be_v not_o fright_v with_o your_o threaten_n of_o death_n and_o hell_n we_o have_v make_v a_o covenant_n with_o they_o both_o and_o therefore_o be_v sure_o they_o will_v do_v we_o no_o hurt_n this_o i_o conceive_v the_o prophet_n intend_v by_o these_o word_n yet_o it_o may_v well_o be_v that_o the_o wicked_a wretch_n of_o those_o time_n do_v use_v to_o say_v thus_o to_o the_o prophet_n not_o as_o think_v they_o can_v make_v a_o agreement_n with_o hell_n and_o death_n but_o only_o in_o a_o way_n of_o derision_n as_o if_o they_o shall_v have_v say_v think_v not_o to_o scare_v we_o with_o the_o threaten_n of_o death_n and_o hell_n alas_o we_o have_v make_v a_o strict_a league_n of_o friendship_n with_o death_n and_o with_o hell_n or_o the_o grave_n and_o therefore_o may_v well_o be_v fearless_a in_o regard_n of_o they_o both_o yea_o some_o think_v that_o by_o say_v they_o have_v make_v a_o covenant_n with_o death_n and_o the_o grave_a they_o may_v intend_v that_o death_n and_o the_o grave_n will_v do_v they_o good_a rather_o than_o hurt_v namely_o because_o they_o will_v take_v they_o out_o of_o harm_n way_n before_o those_o evil_n which_o the_o prophet_n threaten_a be_v like_a to_o come_v upon_o they_o when_o the_o overflow_a scourge_n shall_v pass_v through_o to_o wit_n which_o you_o the_o prophet_n tell_v we_o be_v come_v upon_o the_o land_n it_o shall_v not_o come_v near_o we_o and_o hereby_o may_v be_v intend_v either_o the_o assyrian_n invasion_n whereby_o the_o ten_o tribe_n be_v utter_o ruin_v and_o if_o this_o be_v intend_v it_o imply_v a_o exceed_a height_n of_o presumptuous_a security_n in_o these_o chap._n 44.20_o a_o deceive_v heart_n have_v turn_v he_o aside_o that_o he_o can_v deliver_v his_o soul_n nor_o say_v be_v there_o not_o a_o lie_n in_o my_o right_a hand_n or_o 2_o the_o respect_n which_o in_o some_o thing_n they_o pretend_v to_o have_v to_o god_n law_n and_o to_o his_o service_n and_o worship_n in_o the_o temple_n which_o be_v indeed_o no_o better_a than_o mere_a hypocrisy_n and_o a_o lie_n or_o 3_o their_o subtle_a shift_n their_o crafty_a dissemble_n and_o treacherous_a compliance_n with_o the_o enemy_n wherewith_o they_o may_v vain_o hope_v to_o secure_v themselves_o what_o ever_o become_v of_o other_o or_o 4_o the_o outward_a mean_n they_o have_v for_o their_o defence_n and_o whereby_o they_o do_v foolish_o hope_v to_o safeguard_v themselves_o as_o their_o great_a riches_n get_v by_o lie_n and_o falsehood_n their_o league_n with_o foreign_a prince_n

do_v nothing_o for_o the_o help_a of_o yourselves_o cry_v you_o out_o and_o cry_v to_o wit_n for_o the_o sad_a condition_n you_o be_v in_o and_o the_o grievous_a misery_n that_o be_v come_v upon_o
