and_o inflame_v with_o his_o love_n all_o of_o we_o do_v beg_v and_o crave_v like_o leper_n but_o scarce_o one_o of_o ten_o do_v return_n praise_n and_o thanksgiving_n for_o our_o heal_n as_o though_o god_n gift_n be_v not_o worth_a thank_n we_o be_v not_o so_o kind_a to_o the_o lord_n for_o all_o his_o benefit_n as_o we_o be_v to_o a_o mortal_a man_n for_o one_o courtesy_n only_o the_o faithful_a be_v once_o thorough_o enlighten_v and_o effectual_o call_v be_v afraid_a to_o omit_v or_o neglect_v this_o duty_n and_o when_o they_o do_v fail_v therein_o they_o be_v not_o a_o little_a grieve_a common_o forget_v to_o praise_v the_o lord_n but_o like_o beast_n they_o sit_v and_o lie_v down_o and_o like_a beast_n they_o rise_v up_o again_o but_o little_a may_v we_o do_v belove_v if_o we_o can_v by_o prayer_n ask_v leave_v of_o god_n to_o take_v his_o blessing_n when_o we_o have_v no_o right_n to_o any_o thing_n but_o in_o christ_n and_o little_a may_v we_o do_v if_o we_o can_v give_v he_o thanks_o &_o acknowledge_v he_o to_o be_v the_o giver_n thus_o like_o thief_n we_o steal_v the_o lord_n benefit_n and_o do_v nothing_o for_o they_o as_o if_o we_o shall_v bold_o go_v into_o our_o neighbour_n house_n &_o take_v our_o dinner_n and_o his_o plate_n and_o go_v away_o and_o never_o say_v with_o your_o leave_n nor_o i_o thank_v you_o the_o lord_n open_v our_o eye_n and_o touch_v our_o heart_n some_o that_o will_v seem_v to_o be_v a_o little_a more_o mannerly_a will_v utter_v nay_o i_o may_v more_o true_o say_v smother_v out_o a_o few_o cold_a word_n of_o course_n like_a gossip_n &_o protestant_n at_o large_a when_o they_o meet_v one_o another_o here_o be_v a_o goodly_a weather_n god_n be_v praise_v oh_o you_o have_v a_o sweet_a child_n neighbour_n god_n bless_v he_o god_n be_v thank_v of_o your_o upsitting_n or_o your_o come_n abroad_o again_o and_o so_o forth_o but_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v add_v more_o than_o these_o common_a gratulation_n whereby_o god_n may_v reap_v
more_o glory_n that_o be_v a_o note_n of_o a_o puritan_n and_o he_o be_v too_o holy_a for_o our_o company_n some_o will_v give_v god_n thanks_n often_o than_o they_o do_v but_o they_o can_v remember_v he_o without_o a_o picture_n or_o a_o crucifix_n or_o some_o popish_a relic_n like_o the_o joclatrous_a jew_n which_o can_v not_o remember_v god_n till_o they_o see_v a_o calf_n as_o though_o the_o lord_n daily_a benefit_n be_v not_o sufficient_a remembrance_n &_o lively_a picture_n of_o the_o lord_n goodness_n or_o as_o though_o when_o any_o do_v bestow_v a_o benefit_n upon_o we_o by_o his_o son_n we_o shall_v not_o thank_v his_o father_n because_o we_o never_o see_v he_o and_o we_o want_v his_o picture_n some_o will_n for_o fashion_n sake_n give_v god_n a_o good_a word_n or_o two_o and_o say_v perhaps_o god_n be_v a_o good_a god_n god_n be_v bless_v i_o thank_v god_n for_o my_o deliverance_n etc._n etc._n but_o then_o they_o must_v run_v a_o long_a discourse_n of_o themselves_o but_o if_o i_o have_v not_o do_v this_o and_o that_o if_o i_o have_v not_o play_v y_o e_o man_n &_o have_v a_o good_a forecast_n etc._n etc._n it_o have_v not_o go_v so_o well_o with_o i_o as_o it_o do_v thus_o many_o deal_n with_o god_n like_v he_o that_o when_o he_o have_v tell_v out_o his_o money_n to_o his_o creditor_n which_o he_o ought_v he_o and_o take_v up_o his_o bond_n snatch_v up_o his_o money_n again_o and_o for_o a_o hundred_o pound_n give_v he_o a_o penny_n and_o a_o box_n on_o the_o ear_n but_o to_o leave_v all_o these_o to_o the_o lord_n this_o be_v most_o certain_a if_o we_o be_v afraid_a or_o ashamed_a or_o forgetful_a or_o indifferent_a to_o praise_v the_o lord_n or_o if_o we_o be_v unreverent_a or_o idolatrous_a or_o superstitious_a in_o praise_v god_n how_o can_v we_o assure_v ourselves_o to_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n but_o note_v further_o in_o this_o holy_a servant_n of_o god_n how_o he_o be_v qualify_v and_o prepare_v before_o he_o will_v or_o before_o he_o can_v offer_v any_o sacrifice_n of_o praise_n acceptable_a to_o god_n first_o he_o examine_v his_o heart_n and_o find_v his_o affection_n holy_a and_o upright_o before_o the_o lord_n his_o heart_n free_a from_o revenge_n his_o spirit_n humble_v under_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n his_o soul_n assure_v of_o god_n favour_n and_o his_o faith_n settle_v in_o his_o promise_n this_o be_v do_v he_o proceed_v and_o say_v bless_v be_v the_o lord_n god_n of_o israel_n etc._n etc._n assure_v himself_o that_o when_o his_o person_n be_v accept_v with_o god_n his_o praise_n &_o thanksgiving_n shall_v not_o be_v reject_v this_o be_v to_o teach_v we_o that_o they_o which_o come_v unsanctified_a and_o unprepared_a by_o a_o lively_a faith_n and_o true_a repentance_n and_o have_v nothing_o to_o commend_v they_o unto_o god_n but_o their_o pride_n their_o hatred_n their_o infidelity_n their_o impiety_n and_o such_o like_a they_o can_v praise_v the_o lord_n and_o if_o they_o do_v it_o be_v the_o king_n feast_n without_o his_o wedding_n garment_n and_o this_o doctrine_n run_v currant_n through_o the_o whole_a body_n of_o the_o scripture_n and_o no_o man_n do_v ask_v from_o whence_o it_o come_v or_o whither_o it_o go_v but_o every_o one_o of_o the_o lord_n seer_n and_o servant_n give_v testimony_n unto_o it_o the_o psalmist_n be_v of_o y_z t_z mind_n for_o he_o say_v 16_o the_o eye_n all_o the_o reprobate_n satan_n shall_v allege_v scripture_n to_o credit_n his_o own_o cause_n and_o balam_n will_v not_o because_o â—e_n can_v pass_v the_o bound_n of_o that_o which_o god_n have_v of_o a_o angel_n of_o light_n and_o put_v upon_o a_o foul_a matter_n a_o fair_a cloak_n of_o holiness_n the_o truth_n whereof_o may_v sufficient_o appear_v in_o the_o kingdom_n or_o popery_n amongst_o i_o say_v of_o frances_n ket_n another_o arian_n which_o succéede_v they_o kett._n in_o opinion_n more_o monstrous_a than_o his_o predecessor_n for_o he_o hold_v that_o whosoever_o be_v save_v must_v sacred_a bible_n almost_o never_o out_o of_o his_o hand_n himself_o always_o in_o prayer_n his_o tongue_n never_o cease_v praise_v of_o god_n when_o he_o go_v to_o the_o fire_n he_o be_v clothe_v in_o sackcloth_n he_o go_v leap_v and_o dance_v be_v in_o the_o fire_n above_o twenty_o time_n together_o clap_v his_o hand_n he_o cry_v nothing_o but_o bless_v be_v god_n bless_a be_v god_n bless_a be_v god_n and_o so_o continue_v until_o the_o fire_n have_v consume_v all_o his_o neither_o part_n and_o until_o he_o be_v stifle_v with_o the_o smoke_n that_o he_o can_v speak_v no_o long_o all_o which_o i_o be_v a_o witness_n of_o myself_o but_o shall_v we_o think_v that_o the_o lord_n take_v any_o delight_n in_o the_o prayer_n or_o praise_n of_o such_o a_o devil_n incarnate_a far_o be_v it_o from_o
