despise_v our_o poor_a brethren_n or_o insult_v over_o they_o 1._o pet._n 5._o much_o less_o be_v enlarge_v in_o compassion_n of_o their_o affliction_n 30.6_o psal_n 30.6_o or_o open_a hand_a to_o in_o it_o infancy_n and_o so_o as_o power_n be_v in_o our_o hand_n adorn_v the_o worship_n of_o god_n with_o vain_a pomp_n and_o outward_a compliment_n as_o if_o this_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o the_o increase_n and_o perfection_n of_o religion_n that_o it_o be_v now_o more_o glorious_a &_o acceptable_a to_o the_o world_n 7._o last_o whereas_o prosperity_n usual_o puff_v up_o with_o a_o conceit_n of_o goodness_n if_o now_o therefore_o be_v aloft_o when_o we_o have_v bring_v religion_n to_o our_o lure_n as_o to_o countenance_v our_o greatness_n and_o sort_n with_o our_o excess_n we_o shall_v now_o as_o the_o manner_n be_v grow_v to_o esteem_v base_o of_o religion_n as_o stoop_v to_o our_o lust_n and_o so_o either_o neglect_v the_o power_n thereof_o in_o our_o obedience_n thereunto_o or_o rest_n in_o the_o form_n thereof_o content_v ourselves_o with_o carnal_a and_o corrupt_a mean_n will_v not_o this_o corrupt_a the_o judgement_n and_o so_o make_v way_n for_o apostasy_n will_v not_o this_o cool_a our_o zeal_n and_o dead_a our_o heart_n make_v we_o confess_v indifferent_a lukewarm_a etc._n etc._n and_o therefore_o that_o prosperity_n may_v not_o work_v these_o effect_n in_o we_o 1._o know_v we_o that_o where_o god_n give_v more_o there_o he_o require_v more_o at_o our_o hand_n 2._o that_o hereby_o we_o be_v prevent_v of_o many_o let_n which_o may_v hinder_v our_o proceed_n and_o supply_v with_o many_o help_n to_o do_v more_o good_a to_o abound_v in_o thanksgiving_n and_o therefore_o carry_v we_o ourselves_o thus_o in_o our_o outward_a increase_n 1._o acknowledge_v that_o from_o god_n we_o have_v receive_v it_o and_o therefore_o shame_v we_o to_o honour_n god_n with_o our_o substance_n and_o with_o the_o first_o fruit_n of_o our_o increase_n 2._o be_v we_o always_o jealous_a of_o estate_n especial_o when_o we_o most_o abound_v that_o so_o be_v humble_v in_o our_o outward_a measure_n we_o may_v grow_v in_o the_o inward_a 3._o employ_v our_o talent_n before_o we_o be_v heal_v and_o do_v not_o our_o great_a sin_n require_v a_o sharp_a corrasive_n can_v we_o be_v bring_v to_o sound_a repentance_n till_o we_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o ourselves_o and_o but_o by_o a_o sentence_n of_o death_n even_o by_o the_o terror_n of_o hell_n must_v we_o not_o have_v some_o sense_n of_o what_o we_o have_v deserve_v that_o so_o we_o may_v by_o repentance_n avoid_v further_a comfort_n herein_o because_o when_o we_o be_v about_o this_o practice_n of_o judge_v of_o ourselves_o and_o the_o lord_n by_o this_o inward_a rod_n draw_v we_o thereto_o it_o be_v now_o satan_n policy_n to_o keep_v we_o in_o these_o distraction_n and_o so_o to_o suck_v we_o in_o despair_n by_o perswading_n that_o our_o case_n herein_o be_v singular_a either_o none_o be_v so_o grievous_a sinner_n as_o we_o be_v or_o else_o none_o so_o deep_o plunge_v in_o this_o extremity_n as_o ourselves_o therefore_o learn_v we_o this_o to_o resist_v his_o fiery_a dart_n first_o though_o we_o shall_v be_v the_o great_a of_o all_o sinner_n yet_o shall_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n appear_v the_o great_a in_o pardon_v so_o grievous_a a_o sinner_n more_o glory_n shall_v redound_v to_o his_o name_n in_o be_v so_o incomparable_o merciful_a more_o love_n be_v due_a from_o so_o great_a a_o sinner_n more_o care_n to_o please_v so_o bountiful_a a_o father_n second_o it_o will_v not_o appear_v that_o we_o be_v great_a sinner_n than_o any_o so_o long_o as_o we_o feel_v our_o sin_n and_o desire_n to_o be_v ease_v of_o they_o see_v these_o two_o thing_n make_v up_o the_o measure_n of_o sin_n sinner_n who_o be_v the_o great_a sinner_n either_o not_o to_o feel_v sin_n at_o all_o by_o reason_n of_o hardness_n of_o heart_n and_o the_o conscience_n be_v past_o seek_v or_o else_o to_o despise_v and_o reject_v the_o remedy_n against_o sin_n though_o we_o have_v some_o sense_n thereof_o either_o through_o pride_n that_o we_o need_v it_o not_o or_o through_o despair_n that_o we_o think_v it_o will_v do_v no_o good_a three_o though_o we_o be_v not_o the_o great_a sinner_n in_o comparison_n of_o other_o sinner_n 11_o it_o be_v not_o unprofitable_a to_o commence_v ourselves_o to_o be_v the_o great_a sinner_n yet_o shall_v it_o not_o be_v amiss_o to_o commence_v ourselves_o to_o be_v such_o partly_o because_o we_o know_v our_o own_o estate_n best_o and_o not_o other_o and_o therefore_o in_o this_o respect_n we_o may_v esteem_v our_o case_n more_o heinous_a than_o any_o other_o and_o partly_o because_o we_o be_v more_o inflame_v with_o the_o love_n of_o christ_n and_o so_o in_o the_o abundance_n of_o his_o love_n do_v discern_v our_o unworthiness_n and_o corruption_n more_o and_o more_o in_o ourselves_o that_o so_o still_o we_o may_v more_o deny_v ourselves_o and_o labour_n to_o be_v find_v in_o christ_n not_o have_v our_o own_o righteousness_n ought_v we_o not_o in_o charity_n to_o think_v other_o better_a than_o ourselves_o may_v we_o not_o hope_v the_o best_a of_o the_o worst_a because_o the_o lord_n may_v recover_v they_o and_o be_v there_o any_o outward_o so_o vile_a but_o that_o our_o heart_n tell_v we_o we_o find_v far_o more_o fearful_a corruption_n within_o we_o then_o possible_o we_o can_v challenge_v other_o by_o that_o which_o appear_v outward_o and_o shall_v not_o our_o charity_n to_o other_o call_v we_o more_o into_o ourselves_o that_o so_o we_o may_v more_o narrow_o search_v our_o own_o heart_n more_o judge_v ourselves_o that_o we_o may_v not_o be_v judge_v of_o the_o world_n shall_v not_o the_o sense_n of_o our_o vileness_n make_v we_o more_o compassionate_a unto_o other_o that_o so_o the_o lord_n may_v have_v compassion_n on_o we_o and_o can_v we_o be_v too_o vile_a in_o our_o eye_n that_o so_o we_o may_v hunger_n more_o earnest_o after_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o though_o other_o may_v be_v great_a sinner_n than_o we_o yet_o be_v it_o wisdom_n for_o we_o to_o feel_v ourselves_o to_o be_v the_o great_a that_o so_o there_o may_v be_v no_o place_n leave_v for_o go_v further_o on_o the_o score_n that_o we_o may_v now_o think_v it_o sufficient_a that_o we_o have_v spend_v the_o time_n past_a yea_o too_o much_o that_o we_o have_v already_o so_o provoke_v our_o god_n that_o we_o may_v not_o differ_v our_o repentance_n any_o long_o that_o the_o mean_n of_o god_n may_v not_o be_v reject_v of_o us._n if_o we_o wise_o consider_v the_o policy_n of_o satan_n herein_o howsoever_o he_o lie_v to_o we_o that_o we_o be_v the_o great_a of_o all_o sinner_n yet_o hereby_o he_o intend_v to_o plunge_v we_o deep_o in_o sin_n to_o drive_v we_o to_o despair_v that_o so_o we_o may_v despise_v mercy_n &_o so_o deprive_v ourselves_o of_o the_o possibility_n of_o it_o and_o therefore_o to_o admit_v we_o be_v the_o great_a sinner_n though_o we_o feel_v ourselves_o to_o be_v in_o worse_a case_n than_o any_o this_o shall_v be_v a_o mean_n to_o be_v more_o empty_v in_o ourselves_o the_o more_o to_o faint_v after_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n jesus_n nay_o be_v it_o not_o satin_n policy_n by_o persuade_v we_o that_o we_o be_v of_o all_o sinner_n the_o chief_a if_o he_o can_v plunge_v we_o in_o despair_n yet_o to_o make_v we_o secure_v and_o careless_a we_o know_v the_o worst_a and_o therefore_o let_v we_o make_v no_o bone_n of_o sin_n let_v we_o not_o trouble_v ourselves_o with_o any_o such_o reckon_n god_n mercy_n be_v great_a christ_n merit_n be_v sufficient_a do_v we_o what_o we_o can_v god_n purpose_n can_v not_o be_v alter_v thus_o do_v satan_n play_v upon_o the_o left_a hand_n and_o on_o right_n now_o urge_v to_o despair_v because_o never_o any_o so_o bad_a as_o we_o then_o provoke_v to_o presumption_n be_v we_o never_o so_o bad_a and_o do_v not_o our_o wise_a and_o gracious_a god_n bring_v light_n of_o this_o darkness_n that_o because_o we_o be_v so_o vile_a therefore_o we_o not_o presume_v any_o further_a it_o be_v the_o wonder_n of_o god_n love_n to_o tender_a grace_n to_o so_o great_a sinner_n and_o shall_v be_v the_o glory_n of_o our_o father_n to_o give_v hope_n to_o such_o castawaye_n it_o shall_v be_v our_o great_a comfort_n that_o he_o accept_v such_o
