god_n love_v they_o and_o like_v of_o they_o but_o we_o see_v here_o howsoever_o many_o poor_a soul_n may_v deceive_v themselves_o it_o be_v a_o singular_a favour_n of_o god_n to_o a_o people_n when_o he_o give_v they_o his_o gospel_n to_o be_v true_o preach_v &_o teach_v unto_o they_o when_o they_o may_v call_v upon_o he_o in_o public_a and_o private_a this_o be_v a_o special_a favour_n of_o god_n but_o where_o this_o be_v want_v where_o prophesy_v fail_v 29._o prou._n 29._o the_o people_n perish_v for_o where_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v not_o preach_v and_o the_o people_n teach_v there_o they_o be_v ignorant_a blind_a and_o profane_a and_o all_o manner_n of_o sin_n abound_v and_o where_o sin_n abound_v there_o the_o curse_n of_o god_n must_v needs_o hang_v over_o the_o head_n of_o that_o people_n for_o where_o the_o word_n be_v not_o preach_v and_o the_o people_n teach_v though_o they_o abound_v in_o all_o prosperity_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o so_o great_a a_o favour_n as_o they_o think_v it_o to_o be_v nay_o it_o may_v be_v aiudgement_n unto_o they_o for_o what_o be_v they_o the_o better_a to_o have_v peace_n and_o plenty_n ease_n and_o liberty_n when_o as_o they_o want_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n for_o every_o blessing_n be_v not_o a_o benefit_n according_a to_o thy_o good_a pleasure_n these_o word_n contain_v the_o ground_n of_o his_o request_n namely_o the_o endless_a mercy_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n not_o any_o goodness_n or_o worthiness_n of_o their_o own_o of_o david_n or_o the_o people_n but_o he_o build_v his_o faith_n and_o petition_n of_o god_n mere_a and_o undeserued_a mercy_n in_o christ_n doctr._fw-la 4_o hence_o we_o learn_v merit_n faith_n must_v not_o rest_v upon_o other_o merit_n that_o we_o must_v build_v our_o mercy_n they_o be_v not_o consume_v for_o their_o sin_n 3.22_o lam._n 3.22_o because_o his_o compassion_n fail_v not_o so_o then_o let_v we_o know_v that_o we_o must_v by_o this_o ground_n of_o all_o our_o prayer_n even_o on_o god_n endless_a mercy_n in_o christ_n not_o our_o own_o worthiness_n use_v 1_o this_o condemn_v all_o such_o pride_n as_o the_o papist_n be_v guilty_a of_o when_o they_o of_o poor_a christian_n and_o to_o suck_v their_o blood_n but_o after_o he_o be_v wound_v and_o humble_v he_o become_v a_o preacher_n of_o the_o word_n 33.14_o act_n 9_o 2._o cor._n 33.14_o and_o seek_v to_o build_v as_o fast_o as_o ever_o he_o pull_v down_o before_o use_v well_o then_o have_v thou_o heretofore_o hate_v god_n child_n persecute_v they_o reproach_v they_o seek_v to_o hinder_v
