shall_v continue_v will_v soon_o ruin_v and_o waste_v the_o whole_a kingdom_n and_o overthrow_v religion_n law_n and_o liberty_n for_o suppress_v of_o which_o say_v army_n and_o ill_o affect_v person_n there_o be_v no_o probable_a way_n under_o god_n but_o by_o the_o army_n raise_v by_o authority_n of_o the_o parliament_n which_o say_v army_n so_o raise_v can_v be_v maintain_v without_o within_o their_o several_a and_o respective_a ward_n and_o limit_n shall_v have_v power_n to_o assess_v such_o person_n or_o person_n as_o be_v of_o ability_n and_o have_v not_o contribute_v and_o also_o such_o as_o have_v contribute_v yet_o not_o according_a to_o their_o ability_n to_o pay_v such_o sum_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n according_a to_o their_o estate_n as_o the_o say_a assessor_n or_o any_o four_o of_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a and_o reasonable_a so_o as_o the_o same_o exceed_v not_o the_o twenty_o part_n of_o their_o estate_n and_o to_o nominate_v and_o appoint_v fit_a person_n and_o collector_n for_o london_n have_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o ordinance_n and_o be_v it_o ordain_v that_o the_o sum_n so_o assess_v and_o levy_v as_o aforesaid_a shall_v be_v pay_v in_o at_o guildhall_n london_n to_o the_o hand_n of_o sir_n john_n wollastone_n knight_n john_n warner_n john_n towe_v and_o thomas_n andrews_n alderman_n or_o any_o two_o of_o they_o and_o the_o assessor_n parliament_n and_o kingdom_n or_o have_v not_o contribute_v proportionable_o to_o their_o estate_n and_o ability_n and_o whereas_o it_o be_v think_v fit_a that_o some_o addition_n be_v make_v for_o further_a explanation_n and_o better_a execution_n of_o the_o say_a ordinance_n be_v it_o further_o ordain_v and_o declare_v by_o the_o lord_n and_o common_a assemble_v in_o parliament_n that_o such_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v assess_v by_o the_o respective_a assessor_n in_o the_o say_a ordinance_n appoint_v and_o shall_v within_o six_o day_n next_o after_o notice_n give_v to_o they_o or_o leave_v at_o their_o several_a house_n within_o the_o say_a city_n suburb_n or_o borough_n pay_v in_o the_o one_o moiety_n of_o the_o say_a sum_n of_o money_n so_o assess_v and_o within_o twelve_o day_n after_o the_o say_a notice_n give_v as_o aforesaid_a the_o other_o moiety_n thereof_o unto_o the_o treasurer_n of_o money_n and_o plate_n in_o guildhall_n london_n or_o unto_o the_o collector_n appoint_v by_o the_o say_a ordinance_n respective_o to_o receive_v the_o same_o that_o the_o say_v treasurer_n or_o collector_n shall_v give_v acquitance_n for_o the_o same_o as_o have_v be_v do_v to_o such_o who_o have_v send_v money_n or_o plate_n upon_o the_o proposition_n of_o both_o house_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o the_o say_a money_n so_o pay_v to_o the_o say_a treasurer_n or_o to_o the_o say_v several_a collector_n shall_v be_v repay_v upon_o the_o public_a faith_n as_o all_o other_o money_n lend_v upon_o the_o say_a proposition_n of_o both_o house_n and_o as_o for_o those_o who_o shall_v so_o far_o discover_v their_o disaffection_n as_o not_o to_o bring_v in_o the_o several_a sum_n of_o money_n so_o assess_v upon_o they_o to_o the_o person_n before_o appoint_v within_o the_o time_n limit_v that_o then_o their_o good_n shall_v be_v distrain_v and_o sell_v according_a to_o the_o say_a ordinance_n and_o if_o no_o sufficient_a distress_n be_v find_v that_o then_o the_o say_a collector_n shall_v respective_o have_v power_n to_o inquire_v of_o any_o sum_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n due_a or_o to_o be_v due_a unto_o they_o respective_o so_o assess_v from_o any_o person_n or_o person_n for_o any_o rent_n tithe_n good_n or_o debt_n or_o for_o any_o other_o thing_n or_o cause_n whatsoever_o and_o the_o say_v respective_a collector_n shall_v have_v power_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o ordinance_n to_o receive_v all_o or_o any_o part_n of_o the_o say_a sum_n due_a or_o to_o be_v due_a unto_o they_o or_o any_o of_o they_o so_o assess_v until_o the_o full_a value_n of_o the_o sum_n or_o sum_n so_o assess_v and_o the_o charge_n in_o levy_v and_o recover_v of_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v receive_v and_o satisfy_v and_o the_o say_v respective_a collector_n shall_v have_v further_a power_n to_o compound_v for_o any_o of_o the_o say_a rent_n tithe_n good_n or_o debt_n due_a unto_o the_o say_a person_n so_o assess_v respective_o as_o aforesaid_a with_o any_o person_n or_o person_n by_o who_o the_o say_a rent_n tithe_n good_n or_o debt_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v owe_v as_o also_o to_o give_v full_a and_o ample_a discharge_n for_o the_o money_n by_o they_o so_o receive_v upon_o composition_n or_o otherwise_o which_o discharge_v shall_v be_v good_a and_o effectual_a to_o all_o intent_n and_o purpose_n and_o if_o the_o sum_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n so_o assess_v can_v be_v levy_v by_o any_o of_o these_o mean_n or_o way_n than_o the_o person_n so_o respective_o assess_v shall_v be_v imprison_v in_o such_o place_n of_o this_o kingdom_n and_o for_o so_o long_a time_n as_o the_o committee_n of_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o for_o examination_n shall_v appoint_v and_o order_v and_o the_o family_n of_o all_o such_o person_n so_o imprison_v shall_v no_o long_o remain_v within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n and_o westminster_n the_o suburb_n and_o the_o county_n adjacent_a and_o be_v it_o further_o ordain_v that_o all_o and_o every_o the_o assessor_n and_o collector_n of_o the_o say_v several_a sum_n shall_v have_v the_o protection_n of_o both_o house_n of_o parliament_n for_o their_o indemnity_n in_o this_o service_n and_o receive_v such_o reasonable_a allowance_n for_o their_o pain_n take_v and_o charge_v disburse_v or_o to_o be_v disburse_v therein_o as_o the_o committee_n of_o lord_n and_o commons_o for_o advance_v of_o money_n and_o other_o necessary_n for_o the_o army_n raise_v by_o the_o parliament_n shall_v apportion_v and_o appoint_v a_o ordinance_n of_o both_o house_n of_o parliament_n for_o the_o better_a provision_n of_o plate_n to_o lend_v as_o before_o and_o that_o upon_o certificate_n of_o any_o two_o of_o such_o committee_n the_o same_o provision_n of_o horse_n money_n and_o plate_n and_o the_o value_n thereof_o shall_v be_v enter_v by_o the_o treasurer_n of_o the_o proposition_n and_o shall_v be_v repay_v to_o the_o party_n from_o who_o the_o same_o be_v receive_v with_o like_a consideration_n as_o other_o money_n lend_v and_o in_o case_n the_o owner_n of_o such_o provision_n money_n plate_n and_o horse_n shall_v refuse_v or_o neglect_v to_o bring_v in_o the_o same_o upon_o the_o public_a faith_n for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o army_n for_o the_o better_a prevent_v the_o spoil_n and_o embezel_v of_o such_o provision_n of_o money_n plate_n and_o horse_n by_o the_o disorder_n of_o the_o soldier_n and_o that_o they_o may_v not_o come_v inno_fw-la the_o hand_n of_o the_o enemy_n it_o be_v further_o order_v that_o the_o committee_n afore_o mention_v or_o any_o two_o of_o they_o be_v hereby_o authorize_v and_o enable_v to_o send_v for_o such_o provision_n money_n plate_n and_o horse_n and_o take_v the_o same_o into_o their_o custody_n and_o to_o set_v a_o indifferent_a value_n and_o rate_n upon_o they_o which_o value_n they_o shall_v certify_v to_o the_o treasurer_n for_o the_o proposition_n to_o be_v repay_v at_o such_o time_n and_o in_o such_o manner_n as_o shall_v be_v order_v by_o both_o house_n of_o parliament_n it_o be_v likewise_o order_v that_o the_o say_v committee_n of_o the_o several_a and_o respective_a county_n shall_v meet_v and_o consult_v with_o the_o committee_n of_o the_o adjacent_a and_o neighbour_n county_n unto_o the_o place_n or_o place_n where_o the_o say_a army_n or_o any_o part_n thereof_o shall_v pass_v and_o remain_v concern_v the_o receive_n procure_v value_v and_o dispose_n of_o such_o provision_n horse_n money_n and_o plate_n and_o if_o they_o can_v convenient_o meet_v that_o then_o it_o shall_v be_v lawful_a for_o any_o two_o or_o more_o of_o the_o committee_n to_o execute_v the_o several_a service_n above_o mention_v in_o the_o adjoin_a county_n as_o well_o as_o in_o the_o county_n wherein_o he_o be_v name_v a_o committee_n and_o that_o such_o certificate_n as_o they_o shall_v make_v of_o any_o provision_n horse_n money_n or_o plate_n shall_v be_v as_o effectual_a for_o the_o security_n of_o the_o party_n as_o if_o the_o same_o be_v receive_v and_o take_v within_o the_o county_n for_o which_o he_o or_o they_o be_v name_v committee_n and_o the_o say_a committee_n or_o any_o two_o or_o more_o of_o they_o shall_v cause_v the_o say_a provision_n to_o be_v deliver_v to_o the_o commissary_n for_o the_o victual_n or_o to_o his_o deputy_n and_o such_o other_o officer_n of_o the_o army_n who_o may_v be_v charge_v with_o the_o same_o upon_o their_o account_n and_o shall_v certify_v the_o treasurer_n of_o the_o army_n or_o his_o deputy_n that_o so_o defalcation_n of_o the_o value_n thereof_o may_v be_v make_v out_o of_o the_o pay_n of_o such_o officer_n and_o soldier_n as_o shall_v receive_v the_o same_o and_o the_o say_a committee_n shall_v likewise_o cause_v all_o such_o
money_n and_o plate_n to_o be_v deliver_v unto_o the_o treasurer_n of_o the_o army_n or_o his_o deputy_n who_o shall_v take_v care_n to_o convey_v the_o plate_n unto_o the_o treasurer_n for_o the_o himself_o worth_a any_o thing_n or_o that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o law_n liberty_n property_n leave_v in_o england_n under_o the_o jurisdiction_n of_o these_o man_n and_o the_o same_o power_n that_o rob_v they_o now_o of_o the_o twenty_o part_n of_o their_o estate_n have_v by_o that_o but_o make_v a_o claim_n and_o entitle_v itself_o to_o the_o other_o ninteen_o when_o it_o shall_v be_v think_v fit_a to_o hasten_v the_o general_a ruin_n sure_o if_o the_o mind_n of_o all_o man_n be_v not_o stubborn_o prepare_v for_o servitude_n they_o will_v look_v on_o this_o ordinance_n as_o
