temper_n that_o without_o they_o we_o can_v neither_o pretend_v to_o our_o nature_n nor_o our_o religion_n for_o ii_o it_o be_v in_o the_o practice_n of_o these_o thing_n that_o religion_n do_v because_o it_o be_v the_o best_a for_o they_o but_o yet_o in_o after-age_n when_o the_o rudeness_n of_o their_o mind_n begin_v to_o wear_v off_o he_o by_o degree_n do_v inculcate_v to_o they_o that_o religion_n that_o be_v more_o acceptable_a to_o he_o than_o their_o most_o pompous_a service_n wherewithal_o shall_v i_o come_v before_o the_o lord_n and_o how_o myself_o before_o the_o high_a god_n of_o oil_n shall_v i_o give_v my_o first-born_a for_o my_o transgression_n the_o fruit_n of_o my_o body_n for_o the_o sin_n of_o my_o soul_n these_o be_v inquiry_n that_o a_o jew_n who_o religion_n do_v exact_a from_o he_o pompous_a and_o visible_a expiation_n may_v make_v but_o however_o god_n dress_v up_o a_o religion_n of_o this_o nature_n for_o he_o yet_o he_o tell_v he_o by_o his_o the_o eye_n of_o men._n but_o yet_o if_o while_o we_o tithe_v mint_n annis_n and_o cummin_n we_o neglect_v the_o weighty_a matter_n of_o the_o law_n judgement_n mercy_n and_o faith_n if_o while_o we_o eager_o contend_v for_o doubtful_a opinion_n and_o external_a circumstance_n we_o be_v unconcern_v for_o the_o do_v justice_n the_o love_a mercy_n and_o the_o walk_v humble_o with_o our_o god_n we_o represent_v religion_n as_o so_o poor_a and_o lank_a a_o thing_n as_o the_o reason_n of_o man_n can_v possible_o stoop_v to_o the_o exercise_n of_o piety_n towards_o god_n and_o justice_n and_o charity_n towards_o our_o neighbour_n be_v such_o lofty_a and_o sublime_a matter_n that_o a_o understand_v creature_n be_v easy_o reconcile_v to_o a_o great_a and_o venerable_a opinion_n of_o they_o but_o a_o religion_n that_o consist_v only_o in_o theatrical_a show_n and_o pompous_a pageantry_n in_o thing_n that_o only_o exercise_v the_o body_n and_o please_v the_o sense_n be_v fit_a for_o a_o beast_n that_o can_v look_v no_o further_o than_o to_o object_n of_o sense_n than_o a_o man_n than_o be_v capable_a of_o sublime_a and_o spiritual_a entertainment_n though_o therefore_o religion_n can_v well_o be_v perform_v without_o some_o kind_n of_o rite_n yet_o the_o few_o they_o be_v the_o better_a because_o the_o less_o there_o be_v in_o religion_n to_o please_v our_o sense_n the_o more_o will_v our_o mind_n be_v at_o liberty_n to_o attend_v to_o those_o spiritual_a object_n and_o the_o exercise_n of_o those_o divine_a virtue_n wherein_o the_o life_n of_o it_o do_v consist_v i_o will_v not_o enter_v upon_o the_o dispute_n whether_o the_o rite_n of_o our_o church_n be_v so_o many_o and_o of_o that_o nature_n as_o will_v justify_v any_o one_o in_o separate_v from_o it_o for_o that_o will_v carry_v i_o much_o further_o and_o require_v more_o time_n than_o a_o discourse_n upon_o this_o occasion_n will_v permit_v or_o allow_v i_o but_o this_o methinks_v i_o may_v say_v that_o since_o the_o difference_n between_o we_o be_v only_o about_o indifferent_a thing_n and_o our_o unhappy_a division_n have_v of_o late_a like_a
