charitable_a exhibition_n when_o i_o be_v a_o poor_a student_n in_o oxford_n hope_v that_o this_o dedication_n will_v not_o only_o encourage_v you_o to_o continue_v and_o increase_v as_o god_n shall_v enable_v your_o christian_a charity_n to_o student_n of_o good_a hope_n in_o either_o university_n than_o which_o i_o know_v not_o a_o more_o charitable_a and_o fruitful_a work_n of_o faith_n but_o also_o stir_v you_o up_o both_o to_o read_v the_o catechism_n diligent_o yourselves_o &_o careful_o to_o cause_v your_o family_n to_o learn_v it_o for_o it_o be_v common_o see_v that_o howsoever_o too_o many_o be_v new-fangled_a yet_o for_o the_o most_o part_n man_n be_v rather_o move_v with_o those_o treatise_n which_o be_v express_o &_o special_o address_v unto_o themselves_o and_o that_o by_o such_o as_o in_o some_o special_a sort_n belong_v unto_o they_o this_o only_a i_o desire_v that_o you_o will_v take_v some_o pain_n in_o examine_v the_o quotation_n because_o they_o give_v both_o light_n unto_o the_o understanding_n and_o warrant_v to_o the_o confirmation_n of_o the_o several_a point_n of_o this_o catechism_n i_o doubt_v not_o of_o your_o good_a will_n but_o whereas_o this_o catechism_n be_v likely_a to_o come_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o some_o who_o will_v not_o with_o you_o entertain_v it_o favourablie_o for_o my_o sake_n i_o suppose_v this_o objection_n one_o general_n and_o well_o conceive_a catechism_n do_v most_o edify_v therefore_o many_o be_v but_o to_o little_a purpose_n whereunto_o i_o ready_o and_o free_o answer_v that_o have_v experience_n how_o profitable_o the_o study_n of_o child_n have_v be_v further_v since_o diversity_n of_o grammar_n have_v be_v abolish_v and_o one_o certain_a grammar_n general_o to_o be_v teach_v by_o act_n of_o parliament_n establish_v i_o grant_v that_o one_o general_a and_o well_o conceive_a catechism_n do_v most_o edify_v in_o respect_n of_o public_a use_n but_o i_o be_o assure_v that_o as_o sundry_a grammar_n so_o sundry_a catechism_n do_v much_o good_a in_o private_a study_n and_o use_v for_o the_o same_o method_n of_o teach_v which_o seem_v to_o some_o plausible_a &_o pleasant_a plain_a and_o profitable_a do_v not_o seem_v so_o to_o other_o and_o one_o catechism_n do_v more_o clear_o lie_v open_v some_o point_n of_o christian_a faith_n than_o another_o yea_o handle_v some_o necessary_a point_n which_o another_o do_v altogether_o omit_v again_o it_o help_v much_o to_o the_o confirmation_n of_o faith_n when_o it_o be_v see_v that_o howsoever_o sundry_a man_n in_o sundry_a age_n &_o country_n publish_v sundry_a catechism_n or_o make_v sundry_a confession_n between_o which_o two_n there_o be_v no_o great_a difference_n as_o to_o say_v with_o john_n baptist_n behold_v the_o lamb_n of_o 29._o joh._n 1._o 29._o god_n which_o take_v away_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o world_n or_o with_o peter_n thou_o be_v the_o christ_n the_o son_n of_o the_o live_a god_n the_o one_o publish_v his_o office_n the_o other_o confess_v his_o nature_n yet_o they_o hold_v the_o same_o head_n believe_v in_o the_o same_o christ_n justify_v the_o same_o wisdom_n and_o profess_v the_o same_o truth_n what_o great_a profit_n do_v god_n child_n reap_v by_o the_o harmony_n of_o confession_n as_o of_o church_n so_o of_o ancient_a and_o late_a writer_n what_o benefit_n have_v and_o do_v redound_v to_o the_o church_n of_o god_n by_o sundry_a creed_n not_o only_o extant_a but_o some_o of_o they_o in_o public_a use_n too_o as_o the_o apostolic_a nicene_n and_o athanasian_n every_o one_o do_v know_v and_o acknowledge_v in_o these_o consideration_n i_o conceive_v hope_n that_o this_o little_a catechism_n will_v be_v offensive_a to_o none_o but_o acceptable_a to_o you_o and_o profitable_a to_o all_o such_o as_o with_o religious_a humility_n will_v use_v &_o peruse_v it_o and_o the_o rather_o because_o they_o shall_v find_v the_o most_o necessary_a doctrine_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n more_o plain_o set_v down_o in_o this_o catechism_n than_o in_o many_o other_o of_o no_o great_a volume_n well_o what_o good_a opinion_n soever_o this_o catechism_n shall_v find_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o other_o reader_n let_v i_o exhort_v you_o as_o a_o brother_n to_o edify_v yourselves_o with_o all_o holy_a diligence_n especial_o in_o hear_v the_o word_n preach_v and_o as_o you_o may_v in_o read_v
