cause_n why_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o take_v off_o his_o heavy_a hand_n nor_o turn_v away_o his_o wrath_n from_o israel_n namely_o because_o the_o people_n be_v so_o stubborn_a and_o shameless_a as_o they_o will_v by_o no_o mean_n be_v bring_v to_o repentance_n and_o conversion_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v most_o just_a and_o equal_a that_o the_o lord_n shall_v not_o give_v they_o over_o and_o as_o it_o be_v give_v place_n and_o way_n unto_o they_o in_o their_o wickedness_n but_o as_o they_o go_v on_o in_o sin_v so_o he_o shall_v go_v on_o in_o smite_v they_o still_o until_o at_o as_o seek_v the_o lord_n of_o host_n and_o crave_v pardon_n and_o seek_v help_n at_o his_o hand_n for_o this_o last_o branch_n seem_v to_o be_v a_o further_a aggravation_n of_o their_o obstinacy_n intimate_v that_o they_o be_v so_o far_o from_o repentance_n and_o conversion_n as_o that_o they_o do_v not_o so_o much_o as_o seek_v unto_o the_o lord_n of_o host_n that_o smite_v they_o now_o in_o their_o relative_a consideration_n they_o set_v forth_o how_o just_a it_o be_v with_o god_n to_o go_v on_o still_o to_o be_v angry_a and_o still_o to_o stretch_v forth_o his_o punish_a hand_n not_o cease_v to_o smite_v till_o ruin_v and_o utter_v desolation_n come_v upon_o they_o in_o the_o word_n there_o be_v these_o particular_n especial_o considerable_a first_o who_o smite_v israel_n note_v they_o three_o the_o cause_n of_o the_o destroy_a sword_n among_o they_o be_v their_o depart_n from_o the_o lord_n by_o their_o sin_n four_o the_o end_n of_o smite_v be_v that_o they_o may_v return_v and_o seek_v the_o lord_n of_o host_n five_o israel_n be_v obstinate_a and_o impenitent_a so_o as_o they_o do_v refuse_v to_o turn_v and_o seek_v the_o lord_n six_o this_o obstinacy_n and_o impetinency_n do_v great_o provoke_v the_o lord_n to_o anger_n and_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o continuance_n of_o his_o anger_n and_o stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n to_o smite_v they_o still_o but_o because_o it_o will_v be_v impossible_a to_o speak_v of_o more_o than_o the_o one_o half_a of_o these_o doctrine_n within_o the_o compass_n of_o the_o time_n i_o shall_v reduce_v they_o unto_o these_o three_o conclusion_n and_o only_o touch_v upon_o some_o of_o the_o other_o as_o occasion_n shall_v serve_v in_o some_o of_o the_o use_v and_o because_o that_o which_o be_v here_o speak_v of_o israel_n do_v also_o belong_v unto_o any_o other_o people_n who_o case_n may_v be_v parallel_v with_o they_o i_o shall_v propound_v and_o handle_v these_o doctrine_n rather_o in_o thesi_fw-la then_o hypothesi_fw-la thus_o first_o that_o israel_n or_o any_o people_n in_o covenant_n smite_v with_o the_o sword_n of_o a_o enemy_n it_o be_v the_o lord_n that_o smite_v they_o second_o it_o be_v a_o heinous_a and_o grievous_a provoke_a sin_n for_o a_o people_n when_o they_o be_v thus_o smite_v not_o to_o turn_v and_o seek_v the_o lord_n of_o host_n three_o that_o israel_n or_o any_o people_n continue_v thus_o obstinate_a and_o impenitent_a be_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o continuance_n of_o god_n his_o anger_n and_o the_o increase_n of_o their_o punishment_n these_o be_v the_o doctrine_n which_o as_o i_o conceive_v will_v be_v most_o suitable_a and_o useful_a and_o therefore_o of_o they_o as_o time_n shall_v give_v leave_n and_o god_n shall_v assist_v and_o first_o i_o begin_v with_o the_o first_o doct._n 1_o when_o israel_n or_o any_o people_n be_v smite_v by_o their_o enemy_n in_o war_n it_o be_v the_o lord_n that_o smite_v they_o when_o a_o people_n be_v smite_v with_o the_o sword_n of_o a_o foreign_a or_o domestic_a enemy_n it_o be_v the_o lord_n that_o smite_v they_o the_o doctrine_n will_v be_v of_o use_n especial_o for_o way_n unto_o the_o rest_n something_o must_v therefore_o be_v speak_v of_o it_o although_o we_o shall_v be_v more_o brief_a in_o this_o and_o more_o large_a in_o the_o rest_n now_o this_o first_o doctrine_n for_o the_o sense_n of_o it_o i_o
