weep_v but_o only_o the_o continual_a bark_n of_o thy_o dog_n i_o be_o the_o sure_a messenger_n who_o come_v first_o at_o the_o gate_n and_o go_v to_o the_o lord_n who_o follow_v he_o always_o and_o more_o sweet_a and_o of_o pleasant_a taste_n than_o to_o other_o which_o happen_v after_o the_o good_a appetite_n and_o stomach_n that_o they_o have_v and_o the_o sound_a that_o their_o taste_n be_v and_o their_o tooth_n the_o better_a thereafter_o they_o find_v this_o fruit_n the_o sweet_a and_o more_o pleasant_a for_o some_o there_o be_v who_o have_v rot_a tooth_n &_o to_o those_o this_o fruit_n be_v unsavoury_a for_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o chaw_v it_o and_o some_o do_v eat_v it_o without_o appetite_n or_o hunger_n because_o their_o stomach_n be_v already_o overload_v with_o other_o meat_n and_o to_o those_o likewise_o it_o be_v unpleasant_a because_o they_o can_v well_o digeste_v it_o although_o it_o do_v they_o but_o sinal_a hurt_n and_o some_o there_o be_v who_o taste_n be_v mar_v through_o a_o fever_n or_o a_o unnatural_a heat_n and_o these_o know_v nothing_o of_o this_o fruit_n but_o only_o by_o hear_v say_v i_o pray_v you_o qd_n desire_v let_v i_o taste_v of_o this_o fruit_n i_o be_o glad_a answer_v to_o desire_v gâ—d_v be_v thou_o willing_a to_o taste_v of_o it_o for_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o we_o during_o this_o life_n shall_v satisfy_v ourselves_o or_o sil_fw-fr our_o belly_n with_o it_o but_o only_o taste_v how_o sweet_a and_o pleasant_a it_o be_v wherefore_o quoth_v desire_n therefore_o answer_v to_o desire_n god_n for_o if_o man_n can_v here_o satisfy_v his_o appetite_n with_o it_o &_o feed_v plentiful_o unto_o his_o own_o will_n of_o it_o he_o will_v never_o be_v willing_a to_o leave_v this_o prison_n and_o go_v to_o thirst_n in_o the_o summer_n after_o the_o springe_n of_o water_n so_o likewise_o do_v our_o soul_n hunger_n after_o that_o day_n this_o fruit_n be_v of_o such_o force_n and_o virtue_n that_o only_o a_o small_a bit_n do_v fill_v our_o stomach_n so_o much_o that_o it_o be_v not_o able_a to_o contain_v more_o how_o great_a a_o feeder_n soever_o a_o man_n be_v but_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v with_o god_n accompainied_a with_o these_o lady_n and_o say_v behold_v friend_n these_o lady_n must_v wash_v thou_o the_o first_o be_v call_v courtesy_n the_o second_o unity_n the_o three_o pity_n the_o fruit_n be_v only_o minister_v to_o the_o hungry_a and_o not_o to_o any_o other_o the_o thirteen_o damsel_n be_v call_v long_o suffer_v the_o fourteen_o constancy_n the_o fifteen_o peace_n the_o company_n and_o so_o long_o as_o thou_o be_v to_o be_v find_v among_o they_o they_o will_v further_o thou_o great_o in_o the_o eat_n of_o this_o fruit_n and_o whensoever_o thou_o do_v eat_v they_o all_o the_o rest_n be_v subject_a under_o it_o and_o our_o commander_n and_o chief_a govenour_n the_o first_o founder_n of_o it_o do_v dwell_v here_o and_o although_o he_o go_v in_o progress_n house_n he_o great_o marvel_v at_o the_o fairness_n and_o beauty_n thereof_o and_o the_o more_o because_o it_o seem_v outwarde_o but_o very_o simple_a and_o homely_a and_o of_o no_o great_a shoe_n but_o be_v within_o very_o profitable_a and_o necessary_a the_o foundation_n whereof_o be_v not_o set_v upon_o gravel_n or_o sand_n but_o upon_o a_o fair_a and_o precious_a stone_n and_o after_o he_o have_v say_v his_o prayer_n in_o the_o chapel_n stand_v in_o the_o house_n the_o lady_n do_v lead_v he_o into_o the_o chamber_n of_o her_o sovereign_n who_o receive_v he_o most_o courteous_o and_o because_o she_o find_v he_o so_o advise_v and_o circumspect_a in_o all_o his_o word_n bid_v he_o to_o sit_v down_o next_o to_o her_o side_n and_o say_v my_o son_n wherefore_o be_v thou_o come_v to_o we_o see_v that_o we_o be_v so_o simple_a poor_a and_o despise_v ah_o most_o reverend_a lady_n answer_v desire_n i_o seek_v for_o a_o knight_n call_v the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o i_o be_o tell_v that_o i_o shall_v not_o find_v he_o unless_o i_o remain_v for_o a_o certain_a time_n with_o your_o ladyship_n and_o if_o it_o will_v please_v you_o i_o will_v most_o glad_o tarry_v here_o at_o your_o in_o a_o city_n call_v remember_v what_o thou_o be_v what_o thou_o have_v be_v and_o what_o thou_o shall_v be_v and_o my_o grandmother_n be_v bear_v in_o a_o city_n call_v remembrance_n of_o the_o love_n god_n and_o to_o come_v to_o the_o city_n where_o they_o be_v bear_v there_o be_v but_o two_o way_n and_o two_o gate_n to_o come_v in_o the_o one_o be_v himself_o and_o the_o other_o the_o creature_n beside_o they_o say_v that_o none_o can_v come_v into_o the_o foresay_a gate_n but_o fly_v and_o how_o the_o lord_n himself_o have_v build_v the_o city_n with_o his_o own_o hand_n for_o there_o be_v no_o man_n able_a to_o build_v so_o great_a fair_a and_o strong_a a_o city_n than_o he_o only_o how_o say_v desire_n the_o lord_n who_o be_v so_o excellent_a will_v be_v busy_a himself_o to_o make_v such_o wall_n of_o earth_n i_o answer_v she_o for_o he_o be_v a_o cunning_a mason_n and_o delight_v great_o to_o make_v wall_n and_o monument_n of_o earth_n wherefore_o do_v he_o this_o see_v he_o need_v nor_o want_v nothing_o quoth_v desire_n therefore_o answer_v she_o because_o he_o be_v so_o bountiful_a that_o he_o will_v never_o be_v idle_a in_o do_v good_a to_o other_o and_o of_o all_o that_o he_o do_v seek_v but_o every_o man_n health_n rest_n and_o salvation_n although_o the_o honour_n hereof_o apertaine_v to_o he_o only_o and_o therefore_o he_o make_v his_o work_n of_o once_o a_o commander_n of_o such_o a_o like_a place_n for_o there_o be_v great_a difference_n to_o command_v and_o to_o be_v command_v the_o lady_n humility_n hear_v these_o word_n begin_v to_o bitter_o wherefore_o desire_n demand_v she_o the_o occasion_n of_o her_o sorrow_n &_o weep_v then_o answer_v she_o i_o weep_v because_o i_o see_v thou_o outward_o &_o not_o inward_o clad_v with_o humility_n and_o carry_v only_o the_o bare_a name_n of_o a_o advise_a man_n thy_o heart_n and_o mind_n be_v notwithstanding_o far_o from_o it_o in_o vain_a have_v thou_o speak_v yet_o to_o i_o and_o dainty_o because_o he_o shall_v not_o wax_v too_o bold_a or_o too_o stubborn_a for_o there_o be_v no_o worse_a man_n than_o a_o wicked_a prisoner_n further_o i_o ask_v she_o whether_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n be_v to_o be_v get_v with_o eat_v drink_v sleep_a and_o secureness_n of_o life_n not_o so_o true_o for_o our_o saviour_n christ_n do_v not_o enter_v into_o it_o in_o this_o sort_n &_o see_v that_o he_o who_o be_v our_o only_a guide_n do_v not_o take_v this_o way_n to_o come_v thither_o but_o by_o pain_n and_o suffering_n enter_v into_o everlasting_a blessedness_n therefore_o if_o we_o will_v obtain_v the_o same_o joy_n then_o be_v we_o force_v to_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o suffering_n and_o poverty_n for_o when_o the_o head_n will_v go_v this_o way_n and_o the_o foot_n another_o the_o body_n shall_v never_o be_v join_v and_o come_v together_o and_o if_o we_o do_v not_o keep_v the_o high_a way_n of_o suffering_n travail_n pain_n and_o contempt_n than_o we_o can_v in_o no_o wise_n be_v incorporate_v but_o shall_v be_v cut_v off_o as_o unprofitable_a member_n and_o branch_n and_o be_v cast_v into_o hell_n fire_n and_o if_o we_o refuse_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o his_o cross_n &_o passion_n than_o we_o shall_v not_o participate_v of_o his_o joy_n and_o resurrection_n and_o if_o we_o do_v not_o find_v christ_n in_o punish_v our_o flesh_n as_o he_o be_v whip_v spit_v at_o despise_v weary_a poor_a hungry_a thirsty_a and_o suffer_a death_n between_o two_o thief_n as_o a_o ill_a doer_n be_v nevertheless_o about_o stain_n or_o spot_n and_o altogether_o innocent_a than_o we_o be_v sure_a never_o to_o taste_v of_o his_o joy_n and_o enjoy_v his_o lovely_a and_o sweet_a countenance_n be_v now_o make_v king_n of_o all_o king_n &_o lord_n of_o lord_n sometime_o this_o wicked_a woman_n come_v to_o assault_v i_o when_o i_o be_o in_o my_o chamber_n at_o my_o prayer_n although_o she_o be_v weary_v and_o trouble_v with_o too_o much_o heat_n or_o frost_n then_o i_o tell_v she_o woman_n a_o devout_a damsel_n feel_v no_o tediousness_n of_o a_o good_a thing_n beside_o what_o shall_v i_o pay_v to_o the_o lord_n again_o for_o all_o that_o he_o have_v give_v i_o what_o can_v i_o suffer_v to_o requite_v my_o dear_a and_o well-beloved_n saviour_n christ_n who_o through_o mere_a love_n have_v lose_v his_o life_n upon_o the_o cross_n not_o lie_v together_o and_o beside_o remain_v three_o hour_n alive_a upon_o the_o cross_n in_o such_o pain_n grieâ—e_n and_o martyrdom_n that_o no_o tongue_n be_v able_a to_o speak_v it_o or_o any_o understand_v it_o to_o conceive_v or_o comprehend_v it_o all_o which_o seem_v little_a unto_o he_o for_o the_o great_a love_n and_o affection_n he_o bear_v to_o all_o mankind_n and_o particular_o to_o every_o one_o of_o we_o &_o will_v have_v suffer_v much_o more_o if_o it_o have_v be_v needful_a he_o notwithstanding_o be_v a_o king_n and_o i_o worse_o than_o a_o slave_n he_o god_n and_o i_o more_o vild_a than_o the_o earth_n dust_n or_o ash_n he_o most_o holy_a and_o innocent_a and_o i_o a_o great_a and_o grievous_a sinner_n worthy_a of_o severe_a punishment_n and_o see_v he_o have_v do_v all_o this_o consider_v off_o have_v deserve_v and_o this_o the_o lord_n suffer_v for_o my_o sin_n sake_n for_o to_o make_v i_o ready_a in_o this_o world_n that_o i_o may_v learn_v to_o suffer_v some_o thing_n in_o the_o mean_a season_n for_o his_o cause_n those_o who_o thou_o say_v that_o wish_n i_o ill_o and_o do_v speak_v ill_a behind_o my_o back_n and_o can_v abide_v my_o sight_n they_o hate_v not_o my_o soul_n but_o my_o sin_n only_o my_o fault_n and_o wickedness_n therefore_o i_o be_o bind_v to_o love_v they_o for_o their_o purpose_n and_o intent_n be_v good_a &_o goodly_a and_o if_o i_o be_o god_n servant_n i_o shall_v soon_o spy_v &_o hate_v my_o own_o fault_n wherefore_o then_o shall_v i_o curse_v or_o wish_v any_o harm_n to_o they_o who_o do_v that_o which_o i_o will_v endeavour_n to_o soon_o as_o desire_n do_v hear_v this_o fall_v in_o a_o sound_n but_o the_o love_n of_o god_n take_v he_o by_o the_o hand_n and_o lift_v he_o up_o reviue_v he_o again_o and_o when_o he_o see_v the_o love_n of_o god_n make_v so_o much_o of_o he_o he_o begin_v most_o bitter_o to_o weep_v insomuch_o that_o he_o can_v not_o speak_v any_o word_n at_o all_o which_o the_o love_n of_o god_n see_v be_v superfluity_n and_o tempt_a of_o god_n for_o believe_v i_o that_o under_o the_o cover_n &_o colour_n of_o necessity_n lie_v oftentimes_o hide_v diverse_a and_o many_o sin_n &_o chief_o in_o thing_n belong_v to_o the_o maintenance_n &_o and_o sustenance_n of_o the_o body_n as_o more_z drink_n apparel_n and_o such_o like_a thing_n be_v how_o shall_v i_o know_v quoth_v desire_v whether_o it_o be_v needful_a superfluity_n or_o wantonness_n only_o that_o which_o i_o demand_v or_o crave_v to_o have_v see_v answer_v the_o love_n of_o god_n whether_o thou_o can_v forbear_v it_o and_o live_v without_o it_o without_o the_o great_a hindrance_n peril_n and_o danger_n of_o thy_o soul_n and_o body_n but_o if_o thou_o do_v perceive_v that_o it_o shall_v turn_v thou_o to_o such_o peril_n &_o damage_n then_o to_o desire_v nothing_o be_v a_o great_a sin_n and_o madness_n and_o contrary_a to_o god_n commandment_n but_o if_o thou_o can_v forbear_v it_o and_o be_v without_o it_o so_o it_o be_v not_o as_o i_o have_v say_v dangerous_a and_o hurtful_a to_o thy_o health_n although_o somewhat_o painful_a troublesome_a and_o tedious_a to_o thy_o flesh_n then_o to_o desire_v nothing_o be_v a_o great_a virtue_n and_o morthie_a of_o praise_n and_o commendation_n but_o as_o the_o holy_a scripture_n say_v bless_a be_v the_o man_n that_o suffer_v something_o for_o the_o love_n of_o god._n therefore_o if_o thou_o can_v forbear_v it_o without_o the_o hazard_n and_o endanger_n both_o of_o thy_o soul_n and_o body_n then_o to_o crave_v ask_v and_o demand_n esteem_v it_o wantonness_n only_o although_o it_o cover_v itself_o which_o the_o cloak_n of_o necessity_n want_n need_v &_o holiness_n for_o sin_n never_o disclose_v and_o show_v themselves_o hare_n but_o present_v themselves_o always_o under_o the_o colour_n of_o good_a thing_n and_o hereby_o may_v thou_o know_v whether_o it_o be_v necessary_a or_o not_o when_o thou_o crave_v some_o thing_n and_o that_o none_o deceive_v themselves_o in_o their_o own_o opinion_n they_o need_v great_o a_o diligent_a inquisition_n &_o a_o virtuous_a exercise_n and_o if_o they_o be_v destitute_a hereof_o then_o set_v they_o go_v about_o their_o business_n with_o counsel_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n or_o with_o the_o advice_n of_o
magnify_v he_o therein_o i_o do_v not_o forget_v also_o his_o great_a mercy_n show_v unto_o his_o enemy_n which_o he_o do_v daily_o yet_o continue_v marvel_v great_o in_o his_o omnipotency_n excellency_n &_o incomprehensible_a goodness_n in_o that_o he_o do_v not_o punish_v they_o according_a to_o their_o desert_n but_o rather_o do_v make_v they_o partaker_n of_o his_o bounty_n and_o liberality_n i_o thank_v he_o also_o for_o the_o great_a mercy_n which_o in_o he_o be_v always_o resident_a delight_v to_o recount_v his_o virtue_n &_o beauty_n which_o flow_n and_o run_v from_o he_o praise_v and_o magnily_v he_o for_o those_o and_o rejoice_v in_o they_o &_o in_o his_o unspeake_v able_a mercy_n and_o this_o i_o do_v oftentimes_o because_o i_o know_v that_o this_o be_v his_o will_n and_o do_v great_o please_v he_o beside_o his_o will_n be_v that_o we_o be_v familiar_a with_o he_o shall_v talk_v of_o secret_a and_o heavenly_a thing_n which_o be_v hide_v from_o those_o that_o do_v not_o esteem_v to_o enter_v in_o his_o privy_a chamber_n although_o they_o be_v of_o his_o household_n and_o daily_a servant_n wherefore_o quoth_v desire_n do_v you_o give_v he_o all_o this_o praise_n thanksgiving_n and_o blessing_n because_o answer_v the_o love_n of_o god_n the_o more_o i_o extol_v his_o goodness_n and_o the_o more_o i_o disable_v and_o humble_v myself_o before_o he_o the_o more_o i_o be_o agreeable_a and_o acceptable_a unto_o he_o for_o this_o be_v his_o most_o bless_a &_o holy_a will_n that_o we_o shall_v have_v always_o before_o our_o eye_n his_o unspeakable_a goodness_n a_o office_n that_o it_o will_v likewise_o please_v he_o to_o give_v i_o the_o spirit_n of_o humility_n who_o may_v draw_v and_o turn_v away_o my_o mind_n from_o pride_n &_o from_o all_o that_o do_v displease_v he_o to_o the_o end_n my_o service_n be_v not_o to_o his_o dishonour_n but_o to_o his_o honour_n and_o glory_n give_v i_o that_o which_o he_o know_v to_o be_v most_o needful_a unto_o i_o &_o that_o which_o he_o be_v willing_a i_o shall_v have_v to_o his_o glory_n for_o to_o be_v more_o acceptable_a unto_o he_o and_o this_o i_o do_v for_o no_o other_o cause_n but_o that_o i_o may_v my_o lord_n for_o it_o be_v all_o my_o comfort_n joy_n pleasure_n and_o my_o sovetaigne_n good_a to_o be_v in_o his_o company_n to_o speak_v and_o ask_v his_o advice_n and_o counsel_n and_o i_o be_o never_o content_v quiet_a satisfy_v or_o assure_v but_o when_o i_o be_o with_o he_o and_o therefore_o i_o have_v determine_v to_o leave_v &_o forsake_v all_o thing_n for_o to_o dwell_v and_o remain_v with_o he_o and_o never_o to_o go_v from_o he_o but_o when_o he_o do_v command_v it_o i_o it_o be_v yet_o quoth_v desire_n sometime_o needful_a to_o read_v also_o it_o be_v true_a answer_v the_o love_n of_o god_n that_o read_v be_v good_a not_o for_o to_o become_v crafty_a and_o subtle_a thereby_o but_o only_o for_o to_o learn_v to_o know_v god_n and_o his_o way_n &_o to_o love_v he_o as_o we_o shall_v and_o to_o this_o i_o need_v not_o many_o book_n but_o will_v deep_o fall_v in_o love_n with_o my_o lord_n and_o set_v all_o my_o desire_n and_o whole_a mind_n upon_o he_o with_o all_o my_o understanding_n and_o wisdom_n for_o his_o love_n do_v suffice_v i_o and_o will_v instruct_v i_o in_o all_o thing_n which_o be_v requite_v for_o i_o to_o know_v and_o he_o will_v by_o the_o mean_n of_o love_n disclose_v and_o open_v unto_o i_o more_o secreate_v than_o all_o the_o book_n of_o the_o world_n be_v able_a to_o do_v and_o my_o soul_n gather_v more_o pureness_n fear_n fervency_n reverence_n repentance_n strength_n and_o force_n to_o resist_v my_o flesh_n when_o i_o be_o with_o he_o then_o when_o i_o do_v read_v beside_o i_o know_v that_o he_o never_o will_v ask_v a_o account_n how_o much_o i_o have_v read_v &_o study_v but_o how_o i_o have_v honour_v and_o love_v he_o yet_o hereby_o i_o will_v not_o seem_v to_o condemn_v read_n chief_o in_o those_o who_o know_v not_o the_o way_n of_o god_n nor_o the_o government_n of_o the_o spirit_n nor_o can_v frame_v in_o good_a order_n their_o thought_n word_n and_o deed_n as_o they_o shall_v do_v to_o those_o i_o say_v it_o be_v necessary_a that_o they_o shall_v read_v a_o long_a time_n to_o become_v prompt_a &_o ready_a in_o spiritual_a &_o inward_a exercise_n for_o other_o wise_a it_o will_v be_v a_o great_a madness_n presumption_n nay_o a_o contempt_n &_o despise_v oâ—_n the_o king_n that_o a_o clownish_a fellow_n who_o know_v not_o the_o use_n custom_n and_o language_n of_o the_o court_n will_v come_v personal_o to_o speak_v with_o the_o king_n in_o the_o presence_n of_o all_o his_o lord_n &_o noble_n &_o now_o be_v in_o that_o midst_n of_o his_o talk_n shall_v cast_v forth_o unwise_a &_o foolish_a word_n according_a unto_o his_o custom_n for_o this_o shall_v turn_v to_o his_o great_a shame_n &_o confusion_n for_o the_o king_n will_v command_v he_o to_o be_v drive_v away_o so_o that_o it_o shall_v have_v be_v better_o for_o he_o never_o to_o have_v presume_v to_o show_v himself_o before_o his_o majesty_n and_o thus_o it_o be_v with_o spiritual_a matter_n but_o those_o that_o have_v get_v the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o of_o heavenly_a thing_n either_o by_o read_v or_o hear_v prayer_n be_v much_o more_o profitable_a &_o a_o more_o excellent_a a_o exercise_n then_o read_n be_v now_o somewhat_o acquaint_v with_o the_o manner_n use_v and_o custom_n use_v in_o the_o spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a court_n and_o when_o i_o be_o now_o before_o my_o lord_n than_o i_o take_v heed_n that_o i_o turn_v not_o my_o head_n eye_n &_o body_n hither_o and_o thither_o because_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n of_o contempt_n of_o his_o word_n when_o one_o speak_v unto_o he_o and_o then_o turn_v his_o face_n another_o way_n declare_v this_o unto_o i_o quoth_v desire_n somewhat_o better_a for_o i_o
appertain_v to_o the_o service_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o his_o honour_n and_o to_o the_o maintenance_n of_o his_o house_n therefore_o i_o do_v my_o endeavour_n that_o nothing_o be_v neglect_v chief_o which_o concern_v any_o godly_a exercise_n as_o be_v read_v fast_a chasten_v of_o the_o flesh_n and_o such_o like_a although_o some_o do_v but_o little_a esteem_n of_o these_o thing_n further_o i_o servant_n and_o although_o all_o the_o world_n shall_v fail_v and_o there_o shall_v none_o be_v remain_v yet_o i_o will_v never_o be_v unfaithful_a unto_o he_o till_o death_n the_o nine_o chapter_n shall_v be_v find_v faithful_a unto_o he_o and_o in_o no_o wise_a shall_v use_v any_o falsehood_n practise_v treason_n against_o he_o but_o shall_v withdraw_v myself_o as_o soon_o as_o it_o be_v possible_a &_o come_v again_o for_o i_o know_v certain_o that_o how_o narrow_o we_o look_v to_o ourselves_o and_o as_o much_o good_a as_o we_o can_v do_v yet_o we_o be_v like_a to_o get_v there_o nothing_o but_o be_v always_o in_o danger_n to_o loose_a much_o in_o this_o sort_n i_o hate_v like_o my_o sin_n iniquity_n uncleanness_n carnal_a motion_n week_n desire_n and_o unnatural_a passion_n and_o be_o vetie_a pensive_a and_o sorrowful_a that_o they_o dwell_v within_o i_o know_v that_o they_o be_v contrary_a to_o my_o lord_n will_v &_o do_v altogether_o displease_v he_o therefore_o i_o endeavour_n myself_o always_o to_o amend_v through_o love_n like_o wise_a for_o the_o love_n of_o he_o i_o eschew_v and_o fly_v from_o all_o those_o that_o be_v in_o his_o house_n except_o it_o be_v in_o thing_n of_o necessity_n and_o love_n withdraw_v myself_o altogether_o from_o they_o wherefore_o do_v you_o so_o quoth_v desire_n because_o now_o a_o day_n there_o be_v no_o spiritual_a prayer_n love_n and_o goodly_a zeal_n practise_v and_o exercise_v and_o those_o that_o boast_v of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n common_o decay_v in_o slothfulness_n therefore_o i_o will_v accustom_v myself_o to_o be_v alone_o and_o addict_v myself_o to_o prayer_n that_o my_o soul_n may_v receine_v and_o feel_v some_o comfort_n and_o joy_n in_o the_o lord_n and_o i_o learn_v to_o love_v he_o as_o it_o become_v i_o for_o to_o that_o intent_n i_o have_v forsake_v the_o world_n and_o all_o the_o vanity_n thereof_o but_o quoth_v desire_v other_o will_v account_v you_o fantastical_a &_o partial_a and_o every_o man_n will_v cast_v his_o eye_n upon_o you_o it_o be_v no_o matter_n answer_v the_o love_n of_o god_n for_o i_o shall_v not_o serve_v to_o please_v man_n and_o chief_o in_o thing_n which_o be_v contrary_a to_o god_n and_o when_o i_o give_v no_o offence_n to_o my_o brother_n i_o care_v not_o what_o the_o world_n speak_v so_o i_o do_v my_o duty_n in_o that_o which_o be_v command_v i_o without_o by_o her_o favour_n and_o outward_a apparel_n seem_v very_o honest_a &_o virtuous_a who_o see_v his_o dog_n be_v afraid_a of_o he_o and_o begin_v to_o shake_v but_o desire_v will_v she_o within_o but_o tarry_v here_o a_o while_n till_o i_o go_v call_v a_o damsel_n who_o will_v show_v thou_o direct_o where_o thou_o may_v find_v he_o the_o seven_o chapter_n how_o vainglory_n keep_v be_v call_v vainglory_n answer_v she_o watch_v continual_o at_o the_o gate_n till_o they_o be_v open_v and_o whensoever_o the_o porter_n look_v not_o narrow_o to_o she_o or_o take_v small_a heed_n self-conceit_n these_o three_o be_v our_o great_a foe_n in_o the_o world_n be_v yet_o great_a enemy_n to_o the_o lord_n and_o chief_a of_o the_o house_n call_v the_o love_n of_o god_n will_v thou_o know_v what_o injury_n she_o do_v unto_o we_o whensoever_o she_o enter_v by_o one_o way_n or_o another_o into_o the_o house_n she_o be_v very_o greedy_a and_o hungry_a and_o run_v present_o to_o a_o garden_n and_o eat_v all_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o best_a tree_n which_o we_o have_v by_o the_o which_o we_o do_v live_v only_o &_o be_v all_o maintain_v and_o have_v but_o one_o of_o these_o tree_n which_o be_v not_o yet_o very_o fruitful_a when_o she_o have_v thereof_o steal_v the_o fruit_n away_o we_o remain_v very_o poor_a and_o be_v scarce_o able_a to_o live_v beside_o which_o be_v far_o worse_a she_o be_v a_o great_a flatterer_n and_o have_v so_o smooth_a a_o tongue_n that_o whensoever_o she_o be_v come_v within_o there_o be_v none_o that_o be_v able_a to_o thrust_v she_o out_o again_o but_o only_o our_o sovereign_a humility_n who_o when_o she_o see_v present_o show_v her_o heel_n and_o run_v away_o as_o fast_o as_o she_o can_v therefore_o it_o be_v best_a not_o to_o let_v she_o come_v in_o &_o to_o this_o intent_n have_v we_o make_v this_o old_a man_n our_o porter_n because_o he_o be_v something_o hard_a and_o froward_a and_o speedy_o clap_v the_o door_n to_o her_o face_n and_o take_v great_a heed_n that_o she_o enter_v not_o by_o stealth_n or_o on_o a_o sudden_a moreover_o we_o have_v desire_v he_o that_o he_o shall_v look_v well_o to_o his_o charge_n in_o open_v and_o shut_v the_o gate_n desire_n wonder_v at_o this_o lady_n word_n say_v thou_o have_v reason_n not_o to_o suffer_v she_o to_o come_v in_o see_v what_o great_a harm_n you_o all_o receive_v by_o she_o the_o sixth_o chapter_n concern_v the_o way_n to_o humility_n tell_v i_o say_a desire_n who_o bring_v thou_o in_o this_o fair_a &_o costly_a palace_n two_o lady_n answer_v she_o the_o one_o call_v contempt_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o other_o contempt_n of_o herself_o whereof_o the_o last_o be_v more_o holy_a than_o the_o first_o these_o two_o damsel_n do_v guide_v and_o conduct_v i_o how_o do_v they_o call_v this_o knight_n quoth_v desire_n the_o love_n of_o god_n answer_v she_o all_o which_o do_v make_v desire_n glad_a and_o do_v increase_v his_o desire_n more_o to_o serve_v he_o because_o he_o perceive_v that_o the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v so_o much_o esteem_v of_o in_o this_o place_n sister_n say_v desire_n of_o what_o kindred_n be_v these_o two_o lady_n who_o bring_v thou_o hither_o for_o it_o profit_v great_o to_o virtuousness_n to_o be_v the_o child_n of_o honest_a and_o godly_a parent_n because_o for_o the_o most_o part_n the_o tree_n take_v her_o force_n from_o the_o root_n i_o know_v their_o kindred_n very_o well_o answer_v the_o lady_n for_o they_o be_v of_o a_o great_a stock_n and_o their_o father_n be_v for_o they_o be_v sister_n one_o of_o the_o chief_a in_o the_o king_n court_n &_o be_v call_v knowledge_n beside_o i_o do_v know_v their_o grandfather_n call_v observe_v a_o very_a wise_a and_o sensible_a man_n do_v all_o his_o thing_n with_o counsel_n &_o advice_n who_o take_v a_o wife_n call_v wisdom_n then_o say_v desire_n the_o knight_n who_o meet_v thou_o upon_o the_o way_n be_v he_o alone_a no_o quoth_v she_o for_o he_o have_v a_o page_n with_o he_o who_o he_o love_v sincere_o and_o be_v call_v neighbourly_a love._n can_v thou_o not_o show_v i_o say_v desire_n whether_o this_o knight_n be_v go_v i_o say_v she_o but_o first_o we_o will_v go_v within_o and_o i_o will_v bring_v thou_o by_o some_o that_o will_v give_v thou_o better_a direction_n but_o good_a lord_n quoth_v she_o what_o do_v thou_o with_o this_o great_a mastine_n he_o be_v give_v i_o say_v he_o for_o at_o the_o first_o i_o have_v but_o a_o small_a one_o that_o be_v bring_v up_o in_o my_o chamber_n till_o i_o meet_v a_o shepherd_n who_o have_v bestow_v this_o dog_n upon_o i_o to_o bring_v i_o in_o safety_n through_o this_o great_a forest_n how_o do_v thou_o call_v he_o say_v she_o goodwill_n say_v he_o it_o be_v a_o very_a good_a dog_n quoth_v she_o &_o if_o thou_o can_v keep_v he_o well_o thou_o shall_v be_v sure_a as_o long_o as_o he_o shall_v remain_v with_o thou_o that_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v any_o harm_n to_o fall_v upon_o thou_o and_o thou_o need_v not_o to_o fear_v that_o thou_o shall_v go_v astray_o out_o of_o the_o right_a way_n tell_v i_o say_v desire_n who_o shall_v show_v i_o this_o knight_n brother_n answer_v she_o he_o dwell_v far_o from_o this_o place_n and_o thou_o must_v go_v seven_o day_n journey_n at_o the_o least_o through_o this_o desert_n before_o thou_o can_v come_v to_o he_o where_o he_o dwell_v there_o be_v seven_o house_n in_o this_o desert_n and_o there_o be_v no_o other_o high_a way_n but_o one_o but_o for_o the_o love_n of_o god_n i_o will_v show_v thou_o a_o short_a foot_n path_n which_o will_v shorten_v thy_o way_n that_o thou_o may_v come_v the_o soon_o to_o thy_o journey_n end_n but_o thou_o must_v follow_v my_o counsel_n desire_n be_v glad_a to_o hear_v these_o word_n and_o chief_o because_o she_o do_v it_o only_o for_o love_n and_o say_v whatsoever_o thou_o command_v i_o to_o do_v that_o will_v i_o do_v most_o willing_o for_o hereby_o to_o find_v out_o the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o this_o desert_n say_v she_o stand_v eight_o house_n or_o palace_n the_o first_o be_v the_o palace_n of_o humility_n the_o second_o of_o justice_n the_o three_o of_o wisdom_n the_o four_o of_o fortitude_n the_o five_o of_o temperance_n the_o sixth_o of_o faith_n the_o seven_o of_o hope_n the_o eight_o of_o charity_n and_o in_o the_o last_o of_o all_o dwellet_n the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o be_v sovereign_n of_o the_o house_n &_o all_o this_o way_n must_v thou_o go_v so_o thou_o will_v not_o go_v out_o of_o thy_o way_n but_o as_o i_o have_v tell_v thou_o before_o so_o according_a to_o my_o promise_n will_v i_o show_v thou_o a_o foot_n path_n to_o shorten_v thy_o way_n but_o first_o of_o all_o must_v thou_o dwell_v for_o a_o time_n here_o in_o this_o house_n for_o to_o learn_v mark_n and_o remember_v all_o our_o manner_n and_o become_v acquaint_v with_o our_o sovereign_n &_o her_o watch_a maid_n and_o never_o to_o forget_v their_o name_n nor_o their_o countenance_n and_o when_o thou_o shall_v have_v have_v a_o trial_n of_o all_o belong_v to_o this_o house_n and_o shall_v bring_v certain_a token_n from_o we_o to_o the_o love_n of_o god_n then_o soon_o will_v he_o entertain_v thou_o for_o the_o great_a affection_n he_o bear_v to_o our_o house_n above_o any_o of_o the_o rest_n and_o chief_o when_o he_o shall_v see_v a_o letter_n from_o our_o sovereign_n wherefore_o demand_v desire_n do_v this_o knight_n love_v this_o house_n more_o
and_o such_o wealth_n and_o that_o they_o receive_v great_a gift_n and_o i_o none_o at_o all_o and_o i_o do_v say_v although_o they_o enjoy_v all_o this_o that_o i_o possess_v yet_o much_o more_o they_o they_o for_o i_o bear_v so_o great_a and_o noble_a a_o mind_n that_o i_o esteem_v it_o a_o great_a baseness_n to_o settle_v my_o heart_n upon_o such_o mean_a vile_a &_o transitory_a thing_n as_o all_o earthly_a thing_n be_v but_o now_o i_o will_v overthrow_v thou_o with_o humility_n whereof_o i_o bear_v the_o name_n and_o tell_v thou_o that_o the_o child_n of_o god_n do_v free_o possess_v all_o these_o gift_n and_o many_o more_o &_o not_o i_o that_o be_o but_o a_o slave_n and_o not_o worthy_a of_o the_o least_o of_o these_o thing_n then_o she_o turn_v she_o back_o quick_o and_o present_o assault_v i_o with_o a_o spiritual_a envy_n of_o another_o man_n goodness_n and_o holiness_n of_o life_n say_v this_o man_n be_v more_o advise_v more_o servant_n in_o prayer_n quiet_a more_o mortify_v &_o sober_a than_o thou_o be_v whereupon_o i_o do_v answer_v she_o &_o i_o say_v let_v we_o now_o speak_v with_o reason_n wherefore_o shall_v i_o spite_v at_o this_o see_v they_o prick_v i_o forward_o to_o godliness_n and_o give_v i_o a_o occasion_n to_o rejoice_v when_o i_o see_v that_o my_o good_a lord_n and_o master_n have_v such_o servant_n who_o be_v lo_o fervent_a and_o wherewithal_o i_o be_o endue_v and_o bestow_v they_o upon_o other_o who_o shall_v use_v they_o better_o to_o his_o glory_n than_o i_o who_o be_o unworthy_a of_o the_o ground_n whereon_o i_o tread_v and_o most_o unthankeful_o have_v entertain_v his_o grace_n &_o favour_n so_o abundant_o bestow_v upon_o i_o for_o i_o desire_v nothing_o else_o then_o the_o glory_n and_o praise_n of_o my_o lord_n exercise_n and_o therefore_o to_o overcome_v thou_o i_o will_v be_v more_o diligente_a &_o zealous_a in_o pray_v watch_v &_o fast_v to_o pass_v my_o time_n in_o godly_a contemplation_n and_o when_o she_o see_v that_o i_o thus_o prepare_v myself_o to_o the_o combat_n she_o take_v another_o course_n with_o i_o and_o say_v do_v thou_o not_o see_v &_o perceive_v that_o thou_o be_v altogether_o only_o or_o because_o i_o find_v in_o it_o a_o sweet_a and_o pleasant_a taste_n but_o to_o serve_v my_o lord_n and_o god_n &_o beside_o i_o know_v his_o will_n for_o to_o do_v it_o exercise_v myself_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o name_n in_o all_o virtue_n and_o holiness_n now_o when_o this_o wicked_a damsel_n do_v perceyve_v that_o she_o be_v not_o able_a to_o draw_v i_o from_o the_o love_n of_o my_o god_n by_o these_o mean_n she_o turn_v she_o aside_o and_o endeavour_n to_o allienate_v i_o from_o that_o love_n of_o my_o neighbour_n by_o the_o help_n of_o these_o two_o other_o foresay_a damsel_n call_v ill_a suspicion_n &_o false_a or_o light_a judgement_n for_o to_o despise_v they_o in_o my_o hart_n and_o judge_v they_o to_o be_v wicked_a and_o malicious_a lay_v before_o my_o eye_n all_o that_o which_o may_v breed_v in_o i_o some_o ill_a suspicion_n of_o they_o for_o by_o these_o mean_n to_o entice_v i_o to_o give_v a_o false_a and_o rash_a judgement_n of_o their_o do_n and_o to_o bring_v their_o purpose_n to_o better_a effect_n they_o come_v accompany_v with_o murmur_a despise_v and_o backebit_v but_o present_o i_o answer_v thâ—â—n_n as_o it_o follow_v it_o do_v not_o become_v a_o slave_n suspect_v ill_a of_o his_o better_n sinner_n shall_v not_o touch_v sacred_a thing_n i_o must_v esteem_v every_o body_n to_o be_v good_a
of_o the_o treasure_n of_o the_o soul_n the_o first_o chapter_n intreat_v of_o patience_n desire_n part_v mere_o from_o the_o palace_n of_o humility_n have_v fill_v his_o belly_n with_o the_o sruâ—tes_n of_o the_o garden_n thereof_o and_o be_v well_o provide_v with_o good_a company_n namely_o with_o his_o dog_n goodwil_a and_o 〈◊〉_d his_o one_o side_n with_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o a_o great_a deal_n near_o than_o any_o other_o way_n yet_o notwithstanding_o do_v find_v it_o to_o be_v very_o hard_a and_o tedious_a full_a of_o stone_n hedge_n and_o thorn_n where_o upon_o he_o say_v to_o sincerity_n o_o good_a god_n how_o come_v this_o way_n so_o hard_a uneasy_a and_o todious_a i_o never_o will_v have_v think_v it_o that_o it_o can_v have_v be_v so_o maruaâ—le_v not_o qd_n sincerity_n for_o therefore_o it_o be_v call_v the_o way_n of_o patience_n and_o if_o it_o be_v not_o so_o full_a of_o stone_n prickle_n and_o thorn_n and_o not_o so_o troublesome_a to_o walk_v in_o it_o it_o shall_v not_o bear_v the_o name_n which_o it_o do_v and_o the_o house_n where_o it_o bring_v a_o man_n unto_o not_o of_o such_o a_o great_a estimation_n if_o the_o way_n be_v even_o and_o go_v namely_o in_o the_o palace_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n they_o do_v nothing_o but_o singe_v forth_o his_o praise_n teach_v i_o i_o pray_v you_o quoth_v desire_n to_o sing_v by_o his_o creature_n for_o i_o can_v learn_v it_o of_o myself_o willing_o answer_v sincerity_n in_o the_o mean_a while_n desire_v travel_v far_o and_o wide_o in_o this_o desert_n where_o he_o see_v many_o great_a wonder_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o begin_v to_o learn_v and_o to_o perceive_v his_o mercy_n and_o goodness_n &_o most_o part_n through_o sincerity_n help_v doctrine_n and_o teach_n yet_o he_o be_v force_v to_o endure_v and_o sustain_v many_o danger_n peril_n and_o pain_n for_o he_o do_v stumble_v oftentimes_o but_o sincerity_n keep_v he_o from_o fall_v and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o hold_v off_o from_o bark_v until_o he_o do_v rise_v again_o sometime_o the_o way_n be_v so_o tedious_a unto_o he_o that_o his_o heart_n begin_v to_o faint_v â—un_v and_o desire_v to_o turn_v back_o again_o but_o as_o soon_o as_o he_o do_v eat_v of_o the_o fruit_n to_o trust_v in_o god_n which_o he_o have_v in_o his_o pocket_n and_o in_o every_o place_n about_o he_o come_v to_o himself_o and_o wax_v strong_a again_o and_o sometime_o go_v by_o night_n lose_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o sincerity_n so_o that_o he_o miss_v his_o way_n but_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o day_n appear_v and_o the_o sun_n begin_v to_o shine_v find_v quick_o the_o way_n again_o by_o mean_n of_o his_o dog_n and_o when_o they_o have_v thus_o travail_v certain_a day_n come_v at_o the_o last_o into_o a_o fair_a large_a and_o pleasant_a field_n in_o the_o midst_n whereof_o stand_v a_o princely_a and_o coastly_a palace_n call_v love_n where_o the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v porter_n the_o third_o part_n of_o the_o treasure_n of_o the_o soul_n of_o love_n &_o charity_n the_o first_o chapter_n do_v entreat_v how_o the_o love_n of_o god_n do_v exercise_n and_o try_v us._n desire_n be_v glad_a when_o he_o see_v so_o fair_a and_o princely_a a_o palace_n &_o find_v by_o experience_n that_o this_o wearisome_a tedious_a and_o troublesome_a way_n have_v so_o good_a &_o pleasant_a a_o issue_n come_v therefore_o present_o at_o the_o gate_n of_o the_o palace_n but_o find_v they_o shut_v close_o begin_v to_o call_v and_o knock_v yet_o notwithstanding_o after_o long_o cry_v and_o knock_v none_o come_v to_o answer_v call_v and_o cry_v aloud_o quoth_v sincerity_n for_o in_o so_o do_v although_o they_o be_v all_o a_o sleep_n or_o half_a deaf_a it_o can_v be_v but_o they_o shall_v hear_v thou_o knock_v hard_a with_o the_o hammer_n which_o do_v hang_v at_o the_o gate_n and_o then_o soon_o they_o will_v open_v the_o door_n unto_o thou_o for_o there_o hang_v two_o hammer_n at_o the_o gate_n oftentimes_o but_o here_o we_o fame_n we_o all_o to_o be_v half_o deaf_a to_o try_v thou_o constancy_n and_o patience_n of_o traveller_n who_o come_v hither_o and_o when_o we_o find_v some_o that_o be_v weary_a and_o persuade_v themselves_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o else_o belong_v unto_o it_o but_o as_o soon_o as_o they_o be_v come_v then_o present_o to_o open_v the_o gate_n for_o they_o and_o let_v they_o come_v in_o then_o we_o let_v those_o without_o open_v unto_o they_o return_v back_o again_o because_o we_o open_v not_o the_o door_n to_o any_o who_o think_v that_o he_o have_v deserve_v it_o and_o persuade_v himself_o that_o he_o be_v worthy_a of_o it_o and_o that_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n and_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v it_o and_o be_v thou_o none_o of_o those_o fellow_n no_o my_o good_a lord_n quoth_v desire_n for_o although_o i_o have_v suffer_v and_o sustain_v much_o sorrow_n and_o pain_n both_o of_o body_n and_o soul_n yet_o i_o know_v for_o certain_a that_o i_o have_v not_o deserve_v &_o be_o altogether_o unworthye_a to_o enter_v into_o the_o house_n unless_o it_o will_v please_v your_o lord_n ship_n through_o your_o great_a mercy_n &_o goodness_n to_o lead_v and_o bring_v i_o within_o wherefore_o will_v thou_o come_v in_o quoth_v that_o love_n of_o god_n or_o who_o do_v thou_o seek_v here_o in_o this_o house_n my_o lord_n answer_v desire_v i_o be_o come_v that_o i_o have_v dwell_v in_o the_o palace_n of_o humility_n for_o a_o time_n and_o that_o they_o have_v show_v i_o there_o all_o the_o house_n the_o damsel_n their_o nature_n and_o condition_n but_o when_o it_o be_v substantial_a steadfast_a wilful_a and_o spring_v out_o of_o a_o fleshly_a lust_n for_o it_o be_v not_o in_o man_n power_n not_o to_o remember_v nothing_o but_o well_o not_o to_o suffer_v thought_n to_o remain_v and_o cast_v foundation_n in_o he_o but_o to_o turn_v they_o quick_o of_o and_o to_o think_v of_o god_n but_o because_o that_o this_o herb_n remember_v do_v water_n itself_o with_o a_o water_n call_v to_o see_v we_o must_v cast_v upon_o it_o a_o powder_n call_v diligent_o to_o have_v care_n to_o the_o eye_n which_o be_v very_o profitable_a so_o it_o these_o three_o intent_n do_v not_o only_o cleanse_v my_o soul_n of_o all_o worldly_a thing_n as_o selfe-wil_a &_o such_o like_a spot_n but_o they_o breed_v in_o i_o a_o great_a pureness_n &_o promptitude_n to_o love_v my_o lord_n draw_v from_o i_o all_o other_o love_n and_o unite_n i_o altogether_o with_o he_o in_o these_o three_o intent_n i_o have_v comprehend_v all_o the_o other_o godly_a exercise_n serve_v the_o spirit_n as_o well_o of_o humility_n as_o of_o any_o other_o virtue_n because_o i_o know_v that_o the_o perfection_n of_o virtue_n consist_v herein_o think_v not_o therefore_o that_o in_o vame_n i_o serve_v these_o three_o lady_n for_o they_o be_v very_o gracious_a and_o get_v i_o much_o favour_n one_o of_o the_o three_o call_v poverty_n have_v give_v i_o a_o fair_a jewel_n i_o that_o poverty_n can_v possess_v who_o be_v the_o rich_a lady_n of_o all_o the_o earth_n because_o she_o have_v as_o much_o treasure_n hereof_o as_o she_o will_v herself_o the_o sixth_o chapter_n do_v so_o wicked_a vile_a unclean_a &_o worse_a than_o any_o dog_n presume_v to_o undertake_v such_o a_o high_a office_n &_o to_o be_v so_o familiar_a with_o such_o a_o mighty_a lord_n &_o that_o such_o a_o renown_a majesty_n will_v vouchsafe_v to_o delight_v in_o my_o vile_a company_n &_o suffer_v i_o to_o speak_v &_o eat_v with_o he_o as_o his_o familiar_a and_o only_a friend_n and_o oftentimes_o myself_o do_v tell_v he_o of_o it_o say_v wherefore_o do_v thou_o suffer_v o_o my_o god_n these_o vile_a &_o unclean_a sinner_n to_o stand_v before_o thou_o how_o my_o lord_n be_v it_o decent_a that_o son_n who_o be_v the_o fair_a gentle_a and_o most_o worthy_a that_o ever_o be_v or_o shall_v be_v be_v like_a unto_o his_o father_n in_o all_o thing_n and_o yet_o the_o most_o obedient_a that_o be_v or_o ever_o shall_v be_v this_o son_n be_v love_v as_o much_o as_o hun_z self_n because_o he_o be_v more_o like_a unto_o he_o than_o ever_o son_n be_v unto_o his_o father_n and_o the_o unity_n and_o love_n between_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n be_v so_o exceed_v great_a that_o they_o be_v both_o one_o of_o one_o will_n force_n power_n wisdom_n &_o majesty_n and_o although_o they_o be_v distinguish_v in_o person_n be_v notwithstanding_o but_o of_o one_o substance_n and_o essence_n my_o lord_n do_v make_v with_o his_o own_o hand_n for_o this_o his_o son_n a_o shepherd_n garment_n wherewithal_o be_v clothe_v come_v out_o of_o his_o father_n chamber_n yet_o never_o be_v from_o he_o but_o always_o with_o he_o and_o be_v daily_o conversant_a with_o we_o in_o this_o house_n for_o otherwise_o we_o can_v not_o see_v nor_o know_v he_o and_o thus_o apparel_v his_o father_n send_v he_o with_o a_o basket_n at_o his_o arm_n through_o the_o whole_a world_n &_o likewise_o through_o this_o wilderness_n to_o seek_v out_o his_o sheep_n that_o be_v lose_v and_o run_v astray_o and_o as_o he_o be_v walk_a through_o the_o desert_n his_o father_n suffer_v he_o to_o be_v slay_v by_o the_o wolf_n and_o devour_v by_o dog_n and_o in_o no_o wise_a will_v come_v to_o aid_v or_o assist_v he_o although_o he_o be_v able_a enough_o to_o have_v do_v it_o but_o his_o will_n be_v that_o the_o wolf_n shall_v tear_v he_o in_o piece_n and_o put_v he_o to_o the_o most_o cruel_a death_n that_o can_v be_v invent_v or_o imagine_v and_o shall_v use_v he_o the_o worse_a because_o he_o be_v a_o king_n son_n and_o this_o do_v our_o lord_n for_o mere_a love_n which_o he_o bear_v we_o because_o that_o all_o they_o which_o be_v of_o his_o household_n may_v perceive_v and_o see_v how_o dear_o he_o love_v we_o in_o that_o he_o have_v not_o spare_v his_o own_o son_n but_o have_v give_v he_o in_o sacrifice_n for_o we_o therefore_o be_v we_o bind_v to_o love_v he_o also_o because_o he_o love_v we_o so_o much_o before_o when_o the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v tell_v this_o desire_v weep_v bitter_o so_o that_o his_o hart_n seem_v to_o break_v in_o piece_n the_o father_n love_v the_o son_n so_o much_o say_v the_o love_n of_o god_n that_o although_o he_o suffer_v he_o to_o be_v put_v to_o death_n yet_o through_o his_o omnipotency_n do_v soon_o raise_v he_o up_o again_o from_o the_o dead_z with_o more_o glozie_n and_o triumph_v they_o ever_o before_o carrying_z with_o he_o those_o sheep_n for_o who_o bee_n be_v come_v have_v a_o special_a care_n over_o those_o who_o he_o have_v yet_o have_v cast_v we_o long_o ago_o out_o of_o this_o house_n for_o our_o great_a wickedness_n sake_n because_o we_o serve_v he_o so_o negligent_o without_o any_o zeal_n or_o affection_n and_o so_o high_o do_v forget_v he_o &_o put_v he_o out_o of_o mind_n for_o every_o trifle_n and_o small_a occasion_n the_o father_n love_v his_o son_n so_o dear_o that_o i_o believe_v not_o that_o there_o be_v any_o thing_n in_o this_o world_n wherewith_o we_o can_v do_v he_o better_o service_n then_o in_o love_v of_o his_o son_n therefore_o i_o endeavour_n myself_o to_o love_n &_o please_v his_o son_n wherein_o
