and_o all_o as_o far_o as_o he_o have_v influence_n and_o therein_o to_o follow_v the_o conduct_n and_o advance_v the_o work_n of_o that_o good_a providence_n which_o seem_v now_o to_o be_v vindicate_v the_o oppress_a cause_n of_o true_a religion_n and_o which_o though_o we_o have_v high_o deserve_v god_n anger_n yet_o have_v open_v a_o way_n to_o we_o to_o become_v yet_o a_o very_a happy_a if_o we_o will_v but_o be_v a_o reform_a people_n and_o i_o insist_v the_o more_o on_o this_o because_o i_o very_o believe_v that_o be_v man_n vice_n and_o debauchery_n well_o cure_v it_o will_v prove_v a_o great_a heal_n of_o all_o our_o division_n and_o difference_n it_o be_v but_o too_o notorious_a that_o many_o seek_v to_o increase_v and_o set_v forward_o these_o not_o so_o much_o for_o any_o real_a concern_v they_o have_v at_o the_o bottom_n for_o one_o side_n of_o the_o question_n or_o the_o other_o as_o for_o fear_v that_o if_o we_o shall_v agree_v there_o will_v in_o time_n be_v a_o more_o strict_a rein_n of_o discipline_n lay_v upon_o their_o neck_n and_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v suffer_v to_o be_v so_o open_o profane_a and_o licentious_a this_o make_v too_o many_o listen_v themselves_o in_o that_o party_n which_o they_o think_v will_v give_v least_o restraint_n to_o their_o belove_a vice_n who_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n little_o concern_v themselves_o which_o side_n have_v the_o truth_n or_o so_o much_o as_o where_o the_o real_a difference_n lie_v but_o certain_o it_o seem_v a_o very_a plain_a case_n that_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o every_o christian_a as_o to_o live_v according_a to_o the_o certain_a and_o uncontested_a rule_n of_o piety_n and_o virtue_n so_o to_o join_v himself_o in_o the_o worship_v of_o god_n with_o those_o who_o have_v the_o advantage_n of_o a_o public_a and_o legal_a establishment_n so_o far_o as_o he_o may_v do_v it_o without_o sin_n and_o if_o but_o so_o much_o as_o this_o be_v well_o consider_v and_o conscientious_o put_v in_o practice_n it_o be_v enough_o to_o make_v we_o a_o very_a happy_a nation_n and_o to_o cure_v many_o of_o our_o worst_a distemper_n such_o admonition_n as_o these_o if_o we_o will_v be_v persuade_v to_o take_v we_o need_v not_o at_o all_o question_n the_o good_a effect_n of_o it_o but_o if_o after_o all_o that_o god_n have_v do_v for_o we_o by_o his_o providence_n in_o a_o way_n of_o chastisement_n or_o in_o a_o way_n of_o mercy_n there_o still_o appear_v no_o amendment_n among_o we_o as_o we_o shall_v high_o deserve_v so_o i_o know_v no_o reason_n but_o we_o shall_v expect_v to_o either_o have_v total_o cut_v they_o off_o and_o destroy_v they_o or_o else_o that_o he_o shall_v at_o least_o have_v give_v they_o over_o and_o no_o long_o own_a they_o as_o his_o people_n but_o he_o be_v more_o merciful_a than_o so_o and_o therefore_o send_v they_o a_o far_a summons_n by_o the_o prophet_n to_o try_v if_o at_o last_o their_o stout_a heart_n will_v yield_v or_o whether_o they_o thought_n that_o make_v the_o morning_n darkness_n and_o tread_v upon_o the_o high_a place_n of_o the_o earth_n the_o lord_n the_o god_n of_o host_n be_v his_o name_n but_o other_o and_o i_o think_v the_o great_a part_n of_o interpreter_n choose_v rather_o to_o understand_v it_o in_o somewhat_o a_o mild_a sense_n as_o a_o exhortation_n to_o repentance_n by_o which_o possible_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n may_v yet_o be_v appease_v and_o his_o judgement_n avert_v or_o at_o least_o if_o not_o so_o if_o the_o decree_n be_v peremptory_o and_o irreversible_o go_v out_o against_o they_o yet_o they_o may_v be_v the_o better_a able_a to_o submit_v to_o the_o stroke_n and_o bear_v with_o patience_n and_o fortitude_n the_o evil_a that_o be_v come_v upon_o they_o for_o be_v there_o no_o more_o in_o it_o than_o so_o it_o be_v a_o very_a useful_a and_o necessary_a warning_n when_o trouble_n be_v a_o come_v it_o be_v very_o good_a to_o be_v well_o prepare_v yet_o that_o repentance_n will_v still_o have_v prevent_v the_o evil_a that_o be_v threaten_v seem_v very_o probable_a as_o for_o other_o reason_n so_o because_o of_o that_o say_n which_o you_o have_v twice_o repeat_v in_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o next_o chapter_n seek_v the_o lord_n and_o you_o shall_v live_v i_o therefore_o look_v on_o the_o former_a part_n of_o the_o word_n as_o a_o threaten_v and_o the_o latter_a as_o a_o exhortation_n to_o repentance_n whereby_o the_o threaten_v evil_a may_v be_v prevent_v yet_o not_o so_o as_o to_o exclude_v either_o of_o the_o other_o sense_n wherein_o they_o may_v be_v take_v to_o towards_o he_o we_o have_v the_o history_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n to_o let_v we_o know_v what_o befall_v the_o people_n of_o god_n in_o those_o early_a age_n of_o the_o world_n and_o how_o he_o chastise_v they_o for_o their_o offence_n and_o deliver_v they_o ofttimes_o upon_o their_o repentance_n and_o we_o have_v the_o very_a word_n of_o the_o prophet_n who_o god_n send_v among_o they_o many_o time_n very_o pungent_a and_o penetrate_a word_n such_o as_o carry_v a_o more_o than_o ordinary_a force_n and_o spirit_n in_o they_o very_o applicable_a in_o many_o instance_n to_o our_o own_o condition_n these_o thing_n be_v write_v for_o our_o example_n and_o admonition_n and_o indeed_o set_v aside_o the_o divine_a authority_n there_o be_v no_o other_o book_n in_o the_o whole_a world_n contain_v so_o many_o wholesome_a and_o useful_a instruction_n such_o comfort_n and_o support_v in_o the_o time_n of_o adversity_n nor_o such_o necessary_a direction_n and_o useful_a caution_n for_o
