babylonian_n which_o be_v mere_a hunter_n of_o man_n and_o so_o oppress_v not_o the_o people_n of_o israel_n only_o but_o all_o other_o people_n that_o they_o can_v reach_v when_o therefore_o the_o people_n of_o israel_n be_v deliver_v from_o the_o sword_n and_o captivity_n of_o the_o babylonian_n these_o gentile_n also_o be_v deliver_v and_o by_o reason_n of_o that_o delivery_n they_o have_v by_o sin_n and_o the_o devil_n though_o therefore_o in_o the_o first_o and_o historical_a sense_n of_o these_o word_n moses_n speak_v here_o of_o the_o corporeal_a deliverance_n of_o the_o people_n of_o israel_n and_o such_o gentile_n as_o be_v persecute_v and_o hold_v captive_a by_o the_o assyrian_n and_o babylonian_n and_o the_o like_a from_o their_o sword_n and_o their_o captivity_n yet_o treat_v of_o this_o latter_a subject_n any_o thing_n may_v arise_v to_o prove_v his_o former_a matter_n he_o take_v notice_n of_o it_o oftentimes_o though_o it_o be_v but_o by_o the_o by_o and_o though_o he_o have_v no_o other_o reason_n so_o to_o do_v but_o because_o it_o prove_v his_o former_a matter_n a_o example_n of_o this_o you_o may_v have_v rom._n 10.17_o in_o those_o word_n so_o then_o faith_n come_v by_o hear_v which_o be_v not_o the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o subject_n which_o he_o have_v then_o in_o hand_n for_o the_o subject_n which_o he_o be_v then_o about_o be_v to_o prove_v that_o all_o the_o jew_n believe_v not_o for_o they_o that_o be_v the_o jew_n have_v not_o all_o obey_v the_o gospel_n say_v he_o verse_n 16._o and_o this_o he_o prove_v there_o verse_n 17._o general_n a_o ardent_a and_o vehement_a desire_n to_o please_v god_n and_o to_o do_v according_a to_o his_o will_n be_v a_o thing_n praise_v worthy_a but_o not_o according_a to_o knowledge_n i._n e._n but_o their_o ardent_a desire_n to_o please_v god_n and_o to_o do_v according_a to_o his_o will_n be_v not_o according_a to_o knowledge_n though_o a_o zeal_n of_o god_n and_o a_o ardent_a desire_n of_o please_v he_o be_v good_a and_o praise_n worthy_a if_o it_o be_v consider_v in_o the_o general_a yet_o if_o it_o be_v consider_v with_o this_o particular_a viz._n of_o not_o be_v according_o to_o knowledge_n it_o be_v naught_o how_o their_o zeal_n be_v not_o according_a to_o knowledge_n and_o so_o vicious_a or_o naught_o he_o show_v in_o the_o next_o verse_n ver._n 3._o for_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o god_n righteousness_n i._n e._n for_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o that_o way_n which_o god_n have_v appoint_v for_o obtain_v righteousness_n or_o justification_n righteousness_n that_o be_v justification_n be_v to_o be_v take_v here_o by_o a_o metonymy_n for_o the_o way_n to_o righteousness_n or_o justification_n the_o way_n which_o god_n appoint_v for_o obtain_v righteousness_n or_o justification_n be_v by_o faith_n in_o christ_n which_o the_o jew_n know_v not_o or_o at_o least_o will_v not_o believe_v and_o so_o be_v willing_o ignorant_a of_o go_v about_o to_o establish_v opportunity_n serve_v so_o that_o he_o must_v be_v ready_a at_o all_o time_n in_o the_o preparation_n of_o his_o heart_n to_o confess_v with_o his_o mouth_n the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o not_o only_o that_o but_o to_o do_v every_o good_a work_n also_o and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o apostle_n intimate_v here_o willing_a that_o we_o shall_v know_v that_o justify_v faith_n be_v not_o a_o dead_a barren_a or_o fruitless_a faith_n but_o a_o operative_a faith_n which_o will_v bring_v forth_o good_a work_n as_o opportunity_n offer_v itself_o wherefore_o by_o that_o which_o he_o say_v of_o confession_n with_o the_o mouth_n understand_v all_o good_a work_n beside_o as_o well_o as_o that_o but_o he_o seem_v to_o make_v mention_n of_o this_o only_a not_o to_o exclude_v other_o good_a
