endeavour_v for_o second_o but_o the_o true_a distinction_n be_v in_o the_o manner_n answ_n 2_o of_o our_o care_n and_o endeavour_v here_o observe_v i._o some_o seek_v for_o temporal_a and_o spiritual_a thing_n negligent_o and_o supine_o but_o this_o be_v to_o tempt_v god_n providence_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v neither_o be_v careless_a and_o sluggish_a in_o our_o honest_a calling_n &_o vocation_n nor_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o religion_n and_o mean_n of_o grace_n ii_o some_o seek_v for_o temporal_a and_o spiritual_a thing_n industrious_o and_o these_o the_o lord_n crown_v here_o observe_v again_o what_o god_n forbid_v and_o what_o he_o command_v first_o god_n prohibit_v these_o three_o thing_n namely_o i._o the_o use_n of_o wicked_a mean_n we_o must_v not_o by_o indirect_a and_o evil_a course_n labour_v to_o enrich_v ourselves_o 2_o chron._n 15.7_o and_o ii_o care_n we_o must_v not_o be_v solicitous_o careful_a for_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n matth._n 6._o and_o iii_o hope_n in_o the_o mean_n in_o themselves_o for_o although_o we_o must_v use_v the_o mean_n which_o god_n have_v apponited_a because_o otherwise_o we_o tempt_v his_o providence_n yet_o we_o must_v not_o trust_v in_o the_o mean_n or_o to_o the_o mean_n for_o that_o be_v to_o distrust_v his_o providence_n second_o the_o lord_n forbid_v not_o but_o rather_o command_n these_o three_o thing_n viz_o i._o the_o use_n of_o the_o mean_n and_o ii_o a_o desire_n of_o the_o end_n and_o prayer_n unto_o he_o to_o bless_v the_o mean_n for_o the_o obtain_n of_o the_o wish_a end_n and_o iii_o labour_n and_o industry_n 2_o king_n 13.19_o that_o be_v we_o must_v use_v the_o mean_n for_o the_o obtain_v both_o of_o temporal_a and_o spiritual_a thing_n and_o we_o must_v desire_v that_o god_n will_v make_v they_o effectual_a mean_n that_o by_o spiritual_a exercise_n our_o inward_a man_n may_v grow_v up_o in_o grace_n and_o by_o corporal_a exercise_n and_o employment_n our_o estate_n may_v be_v better_v for_o it_o be_v lawful_a to_o pray_v to_o god_n for_o a_o blessing_n upon_o our_o labour_n and_o to_o prosper_v the_o work_n of_o our_o hand_n and_o last_o we_o must_v be_v industrious_a both_o in_o our_o temporal_a vocation_n and_o in_o our_o spiritual_a action_n and_o performance_n thus_o i_o conceive_v that_o in_o these_o particular_n spiritual_a and_o temporal_a thing_n differ_v not_o but_o only_o in_o degree_n for_o first_o as_o we_o must_v use_v the_o mean_n for_o the_o obtain_n of_o spiritual_a grace_n so_o also_o for_o the_o procure_n of_o temporal_a blessing_n and_o second_o as_o we_o must_v desire_v a_o blessing_n from_o god_n upon_o the_o use_n of_o spiritual_a mean_n for_o the_o obtain_n of_o spiritual_a grace_n so_o also_o upon_o temporal_a mean_n the_o procure_n of_o temporal_a blessing_n and_o three_o as_o we_o must_v be_v industrious_a in_o the_o use_n of_o spiritual_a exercise_n for_o the_o obtain_n of_o those_o grace_n which_o belong_v unto_o the_o hide_a man_n of_o the_o heart_n so_o also_o in_o our_o honest_a vocation_n for_o the_o procure_n of_o those_o temporal_a thing_n which_o concern_v our_o be_v or_o well_o be_v in_o regard_n of_o our_o outward_a life_n or_o temporal_a estate_n only_o we_o must_v more_o earnest_o desire_n and_o more_o industrious_o endeavour_v for_o spiritual_a then_o temporal_a thing_n as_o be_v plain_a from_o
