be_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n shall_v immediate_o govern_v we_o by_o himself_o and_o bring_v we_o to_o the_o livelie_a fountain_n of_o water_n now_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n be_v take_v in_o this_o latter_a sense_n for_o that_o government_n of_o the_o church_n ordain_v under_o the_o new_a testament_n whereby_o he_o which_o be_v the_o son_n be_v manifest_v in_o the_o flesh_n to_o take_v upon_o he_o the_o regiment_n of_o his_o own_o house_n do_v now_o from_o heaven_n by_o the_o operation_n of_o his_o spirit_n guide_n and_o govern_v his_o church_n be_v such_o as_o no_o part_n thereof_o must_v be_v administer_v by_o any_o office_n or_o officer_n save_v only_o by_o those_o who_o in_o his_o word_n he_o have_v appoint_v thereunto_o the_o which_o case_n stand_v upon_o such_o manifest_a ground_n of_o aequitie_n and_o justice_n that_o their_o madness_n be_v apparent_o wicked_a who_o go_v about_o to_o attempt_v the_o contrary_n for_o see_v no_o office_n can_v &_o will_n of_o god_n here_o then_o we_o will_v not_o be_v the_o judge_n let_v our_o adversary_n speak_v themselves_o whether_o their_o office_n be_v appoint_v in_o the_o new_a testament_n or_o not_o for_o therein_o must_v they_o be_v mention_v if_o they_o belong_v unto_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n and_o be_v the_o member_n of_o his_o body_n what_o will_v their_o answer_n be_v in_o this_o point_n sure_o they_o must_v confess_v that_o from_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n unto_o the_o latter_a end_n of_o it_o there_o be_v not_o a_o word_n speak_v of_o ll._n archb._n and_o bb._n so_o that_o whensoever_o or_o by_o whomesoever_o they_o have_v their_o original_n they_o have_v it_o not_o from_o our_o saviour_n christ_n and_o his_o word_n because_o he_o have_v ordain_v no_o member_n of_o his_o body_n and_o no_o office_n of_o his_o kingdom_n since_o the_o write_a word_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n be_v pen_v whereupon_o we_o must_v needs_o conclude_v that_o they_o belong_v not_o unto_o his_o kingdom_n nay_o we_o go_v further_o and_o say_v that_o ll._n archb._n and_o bb._n be_v so_o far_o from_o have_v their_o calling_n warrant_v by_o the_o word_n that_o their_o very_a name_n much_o more_o their_o office_n be_v by_o the_o same_o make_v detestable_a and_o odious_a unto_o the_o church_n as_o shall_v present_o appear_v as_o for_o their_o calling_n the_o corruption_n thereof_o be_v so_o great_a that_o they_o &_o the_o purity_n of_o the_o gospel_n together_o with_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o church_n can_v stand_v together_o concern_v the_o purity_n of_o the_o gospel_n their_o calling_n pollute_v the_o same_o 2._o manner_n of_o way_n and_o infringe_v the_o liberty_n of_o the_o church_n by_o as_o many_o first_o they_o will_v be_v minister_n and_o civil_a magistrate_n too_o that_o be_v they_o will_v be_v minister_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o world_n all_o at_o once_o whereby_o they_o declare_v unto_o we_o that_o they_o think_v it_o not_o sufficient_a to_o be_v as_o their_o 18.36_o their_o mat._n 10.24.25_o john_n 18.36_o master_n be_v who_o affirm_v his_o kingdom_n not_o to_o be_v of_o this_o world_n that_o be_v that_o he_o be_v not_o manifest_v in_o the_o flesh_n to_o intermeddle_v with_o the_o execution_n of_o civil_a function_n but_o to_o be_v ruler_n of_o a_o kingdom_n that_o consist_v in_o a_o other_o manner_n of_o government_n and_o dominion_n than_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o world_n do_v who_o example_n in_o this_o point_n all_o his_o true_a minister_n must_v needs_o follow_v unless_o they_o will_v make_v a_o shameful_a defection_n from_o their_o master_n unto_o who_o be_v here_o upon_o earth_n though_o he_o be_v the_o lord_n of_o all_o his_o creature_n it_o have_v be_v unlawful_a to_o have_v take_v upon_o he_o the_o function_n of_o the_o civil_a magistrate_n and_o therefore_o we_o read_v that_o when_o the_o multitude_n will_v have_v make_v he_o king_n 6.15_o john_n 6.15_o he_o withdraw_v himself_o out_o of_o the_o way_n because_o that_o he_o be_v not_o send_v hither_o to_o deal_v in_o any_o thing_n but_o in_o the_o work_n of_o man_n redemption_n and_o so_o if_o as_o a_o magistrate_n he_o have_v intermedle_v with_o the_o dispensation_n of_o civil_a thing_n he_o have_v not_o contain_v himself_o within_o the_o limit_n of_o that_o call_n whereunto_o he_o be_v anoint_v with_o the_o oil_n of_o gladness_n above_o his_o fellow_n not_o that_o the_o call_n of_o the_o magistrate_n be_v god_n ordinance_n be_v a_o thing_n unlawful_a in_o itself_o but_o that_o the_o lord_n have_v so_o appoint_v that_o he_o which_o be_v to_o be_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o glad_a tiding_n of_o the_o gospel_n can_v be_v the_o minister_n of_o civil_a justice_n and_o execution_n by_o reason_n that_o these_o two_o ordinance_n of_o the_o magistracy_n &_o ministry_n though_o proceed_v both_o of_o they_o from_o the_o lord_n do_v yet_o flow_v from_o he_o in_o a_o diverse_a consideration_n and_o respect_n for_o the_o civil_a magistrate_n be_v the_o lord_n livetennant_n and_o messenger_n in_o respect_n that_o the_o lord_n be_v governor_n and_o ruler_n of_o all_o his_o creature_n and_o especial_o of_o man_n and_o therefore_o have_v appoint_v the_o civil_a magistracy_n to_o keep_v they_o in_o that_o outward_a obedience_n which_o he_o requjer_v at_o their_o hand_n now_o the_o minister_n be_v the_o lord_n messenger_n in_o a_o other_o regard_n viz._n in_o respect_n that_o the_o lord_n offer_v peace_n and_o reconciliation_n unto_o man_n if_o they_o 1.9_o they_o 2._o thes_n 1.9_o believe_v and_o obey_v his_o gospel_n unless_o therefore_o we_o will_v make_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v the_o redeemer_n of_o mankind_n in_o that_o respect_n that_o he_o be_v the_o creator_n and_o the_o governor_n thereof_o &_o so_o confound_v the_o decree_n of_o the_o government_n of_o the_o creature_n with_o the_o decree_n and_o ordinance_n of_o man_n redemption_n we_o can_v without_o the_o breach_n of_o the_o lord_n holy_a will_n confound_v these_o two_o calling_n together_o and_o sure_o by_o how_o much_o the_o work_n of_o man_n redemption_n from_o the_o eternal_a wrath_n of_o god_n be_v more_o excellent_a than_o the_o work_n of_o the_o creation_n and_o government_n of_o the_o creature_n by_o so_o much_o the_o more_o detestable_a and_o odious_a do_v they_o
