defensive_a do_v hold_v and_o defend_v a_o castle_n or_o fort_n against_o the_o king_n and_o his_o power_n this_o be_v levy_v of_o war_n against_o the_o king_n within_o the_o statute_n of_o the_o 25_o year_n of_o edw._n 3._o the_o king_n proclaim_v not_o those_o rebel_n or_o traitor_n who_o vote_v that_o they_o will_v raise_v a_o army_n and_o that_o the_o earl_n of_o essex_n shall_v be_v general_n of_o that_o army_n what_o ever_o he_o may_v have_v do_v nor_o the_o earl_n of_o essex_n himself_o a_o traitor_n upon_o those_o vote_n until_o he_o have_v accept_v that_o title_n and_o command_n of_o captain_n general_n and_o in_o that_o quality_n appear_v among_o the_o soldier_n animate_v and_o encourage_v they_o in_o their_o traitorous_a and_o rebellious_a design_n as_o appear_v by_o his_o majesty_n proclamation_n of_o the_o 9_o of_o august_n 1642._o by_o which_o he_o be_v first_o proclaim_v traitor_n and_o there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n to_o clear_v the_o earl_n of_o essex_n from_o
