the_o honourable_a the_o master_n of_o the_o roll_n bear_v date_n the_o 18_o day_n of_o june_n in_o the_o 20_o year_n of_o the_o reign_n of_o his_o late_a majesty_n king_n charles_n the_o second_o of_o bless_a memory_n for_o the_o better_a regulate_v the_o six_o clerk_n office_n it_o be_v among_o other_o thing_n order_v ordain_v and_o decree_v that_o the_o number_n of_o the_o under-clerk_n to_o be_v allow_v and_o admit_v to_o practice_v as_o clerk_n of_o this_o court_n in_o the_o say_v six_o clerk_n office_n shall_v be_v reduce_v and_o stint_v to_o sixty_o clerk_n and_o no_o more_o at_o which_o number_n the_o say_a under-clerk_n shall_v be_v continue_v unless_o this_o court_n shall_v find_v it_o necessary_a to_o increase_v or_o abridge_v the_o same_o and_o further_o that_o as_o irregularity_n and_o disorder_n tend_v manifest_o to_o the_o obstruction_n of_o justice_n and_o the_o orderly_a proceed_n and_o dispatch_n thereof_o to_o the_o great_a scandal_n and_o dishonour_n of_o this_o high_a and_o honourable_a court_n and_o the_o irreparable_a damage_n to_o the_o king_n and_o subject_a if_o not_o prevent_v the_o right_a honourable_a george_n lord_n jeffreys_n lord_n chancellor_n of_o england_n and_o the_o right_n honourable_a sir_n john_n trevor_n master_n of_o the_o roll_n take_v the_o same_o into_o their_o serious_a consideration_n and_o the_o way_n and_o mean_n for_o redress_v and_o prevent_v the_o same_o for_o the_o future_a do_v hereby_o and_o by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o high_a and_o honourable_a court_n of_o chancery_n order_n ordain_v and_o decree_n that_o all_o and_o every_o such_o person_n and_o person_n so_o as_o aforesaid_a allow_v office_n supernumerary_a clerk_n except_o two_o wait_a clerk_n to_o each_o six_o clerk_n not_o swear_v discharge_v from_o practise_v in_o the_o say_v office_n permit_v or_o license_v by_o the_o six_o clerk_n in_o their_o several_a division_n and_o office_n call_v supernumerary_n or_o licenciary_a clerk_n not_o allow_v swear_v and_o admit_v as_o under-clerk_n to_o practice_v as_o clerk_n of_o this_o court_n except_v the_o two_o wait_a clerk_n allow_v to_o each_o six_o clerk_n be_v and_o be_v the_o same_o with_o all_o the_o like_a advantage_n pay_v the_o like_a fee_n due_n and_o duty_n as_o the_o now_o swear_a under-clerk_n of_o this_o court_n have_v enjoy_v and_o pay_v or_o aught_o to_o have_v enjoy_v and_o pay_v all_o which_o number_n make_v fifteen_o in_o every_o six_o clerk_n division_n the_o swear_a under-clerk_n of_o this_o court_n shall_v continue_v unless_o this_o court_n shall_v find_v it_o necessary_a to_o reduce_v abridge_v or_o increase_v the_o same_o and_o from_o time_n to_o time_n upon_o any_o vacancy_n by_o forfeiture_n surrender_n or_o death_n such_o only_a shall_v be_v swear_v and_o admit_v by_o the_o master_n of_o the_o roll_n into_o their_o respective_a place_n as_o his_o honour_n in_o his_o judgement_n shall_v think_v fit_o qualify_v and_o allow_v of_o for_o the_o say_a employment_n the_o nomination_n of_o the_o six_o clerk_n be_v only_o for_o his_o honour_n information_n and_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o six_o clerk_n at_o the_o swear_n and_o admittance_n of_o a_o under-clerk_n be_v only_o that_o he_o the_o six_o clerk_n may_v take_v notice_n of_o such_o new_a under-clerk_n so_o swear_v and_o admit_v and_o further_o the_o say_a under-clerk_n hereby_o decree_v to_o be_v swear_v and_o admit_v be_v to_o have_v such_o seat_n and_o place_n provide_v and_o appoint_v for_o they_o to_o sit_v write_v and_o officiate_v in_o in_o the_o of_o the_o young_a clerk_n now_o servant_n or_o which_o hereafter_o shall_v be_v clerk_n servant_n to_o the_o swear_a under-clerk_n of_o this_o court_n servant_n none_o permit_v to_o dispatch_v any_o
