god_n it_o follow_v necessary_o that_o that_o episcopal_a power_n which_o the_o bishop_n use_n and_o exercise_v in_o england_n can_v not_o be_v divine_a but_o humane_a because_o episcopal_a authority_n which_o be_v divine_a be_v convey_v from_o the_o royal_a and_o sovereign_a authority_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n the_o giver_n of_o all_o power_n unto_o every_o officer_n within_o his_o ceurch_n can_v be_v transfer_v to_o any_o other_o person_n by_o the_o same_o bishop_n by_o the_o king_n by_o the_o body_n of_o the_o state_n or_o by_o custom_n for_o the_o king_n person_n and_o body_n of_o the_o state_n nor_o be_v make_v capable_a by_o the_o holy_a scripture_n to_o use_v and_o exercise_v that_o episcopal_a power_n which_o be_v of_o divine_a institution_n can_v never_o transfer_v the_o same_o to_o other_o whereof_o they_o be_v themselves_o uncapable_a and_o to_o defend_v that_o custom_n or_o any_o municipal_a law_n shall_v transfer_v divine_a episcopal_a power_n from_o a_o divine_a b._n to_o any_o human_a officer_n be_v more_o erroneous_a and_o from_o hence_o if_o the_o now_o l._n bish_n of_o london_n judge_v his_o episcopal_a power_n to_o belong_v unto_o he_o by_o divine_a and_o that_o by_o the_o same_o right_n he_o have_v power_n as_o well_o to_o ordain_v depose_v suspend_v and_o excommunicate_v presbyter_n as_o to_o confirm_v boy_n girl_n young_a man_n and_o maiden_n there_o seem_v to_o be_v good_a reason_n that_o the_o same_o b._n shall_v make_v it_o apparent_o know_v unto_o the_o king_n and_o realm_n by_o what_o power_n or_o commission_n descend_v from_o heaven_n he_o may_v delegate_v under_o his_o seal_n the_o same_o his_o divine_a authority_n of_o ordination_n deposition_n suspension_n excommunication_n and_o confirmation_n unto_o doctor_n stern_a his_o now_o suffragan_n of_o colchester_n for_o if_o from_o the_o holy_a scripture_n he_o can_v produce_v no_o warrant_n for_o the_o make_n of_o a_o delegation_n of_o any_o part_n of_o that_o episcopal_a power_n which_o he_o hold_v to_o be_v commit_v unto_o he_o from_o our_o saviour_n christ_n then_o well_o may_v we_o conclude_v against_o the_o ordination_n deposition_n suspension_n excommunication_n and_o confirmation_n make_v by_o the_o same_o his_o suffragame_n that_o the_o same_o his_o suffragans_n ordination_n deposition_n etc._n etc._n be_v not_o divine_a for_o how_o can_v a_o ordination_n a_o deposition_n etc._n etc._n make_v by_o a_o suffragan_n be_v divine_a when_o as_o the_o commission_n grant_v by_o the_o bishop_n be_v mere_o humane_a wherefore_o see_v the_o bishop_n himself_o have_v pluck_v certain_a of_o his_o principal_a feather_n from_o his_o own_o spiritual_a wing_n if_o so_o be_v his_o own_o wing_n may_v be_v spiritual_a and_o imp_v they_o with_o a_o untwysted_a thread_n of_o humane_a policy_n to_o the_o humane_a train_n of_o his_o suffragan_n and_o see_v also_o his_o archbishop_n grace_n of_o canterbury_n in_o case_n of_o his_o metropolitical_a prerogative_n the_o archdeacon_n london_n midlesex_n essex_n hertford_n the_o dean_n of_o paul_n and_o certain_a prebendary_n in_o paul_n the_o dean_n of_o westminster_n the_o master_n of_o the_o savoy_n and_o diverse_a other_o person_n have_v by_o papal_a privilege_n or_o by_o ancient_a custom_n prescribe_v almost_o all_o other_o part_n of_o his_o episcopal_a power_n there_o seem_v good_a reason_n that_o the_o bishop_n shall_v again_o declare_v whether_o the_o church_n within_o the_o say_a diocese_n after_o the_o decease_n or_o translation_n of_o his_o lordship_n shall_v stand_v in_o need_n of_o any_o lordly_a successor_n to_o sit_v in_o the_o same_o sea_n for_o any_o other_o profitable_a use_n or_o purpose_n than_o only_o for_o wear_v of_o a_o white_a rochet_n walk_v with_o a_o pastoral_a staff_n keep_v seven_o year_n sabbath_n from_o preach_v in_o his_o parish_n church_n at_o fulham_n consecrate_v of_o chapel_n hallow_v of_o fontes_n christen_v as_o they_o call_v it_o of_o bell_n white_v of_o wall_n paint_v of_o tomb_n garnish_v of_o sepulcher_n preserve_v of_o superstitious_a monument_n in_o glass_n window_n repair_v and_o gild_n rot_a and_o outwear_v cross_n confirm_v lease_n of_o benefice_n with_o cure_n of_o soul_n upon_o small_a rent_n impropry_v church_n or_o such_o like_a for_o if_o the_o great_a thing_n of_o the_o episcopal_a power_n may_v be_v transfer_v either_o by_o express_a or_o by_o secret_a consent_n either_o by_o commission_n or_o custom_n and_o that_o as_o well_o to_o a_o inferior_a as_o to_o a_o superior_a as_o well_o to_o a_o suffragrane_n a_o dean_n a_o archdeacon_n and_o a_o prebendary_a as_o to_o a_o archb._n than_o it_o seem_v reasonable_a that_o the_o small_a thing_n before_o speak_v of_o may_v well_o be_v perform_v without_o any_o lordly_a authority_n when_o i_o have_v thus_o finish_v according_a to_o our_o line_n that_o which_o i_o first_o undertake_v against_o the_o admonitor_n pray_v ense_v dangerous_a alteration_n innovation_n and_o inconvenience_n and_o be_v also_o purpose_v to_o have_v add_v that_o which_o in_o my_o opinion_n seem_v to_o prove_v that_o which_o the_o admonitor_n by_o his_o opinion_n deny_v viz._n that_o the_o external_a government_n of_o the_o church_n shall_v always_o and_o in_o all_o place_n be_v one_o when_o i_o say_v i_o have_v thus_o purpose_v by_o reason_n of_o some_o other_o present_a and_o for_o the_o time_n more_o necessary_a occasion_n i_o be_v drive_v to_o alter_v my_o mind_n and_o to_o show_v the_o same_o in_o a_o place_n somewhat_o more_o convenient_a and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n it_o shall_v not_o be_v amiss_o but_o a_o thing_n very_o necessary_a in_o this_o place_n so_o to_o clear_v the_o state_n of_o the_o question_n between_o the_o admonitor_n and_o i_o as_o the_o same_o be_v right_o before_o hand_n understand_v there_o may_v no_o prejudicate_a opinion_n be_v conceive_v against_o the_o truth_n the_o admonitor_n against_o the_o not_o have_v one_o form_n of_o external_a policy_n in_o all_o age_n and_o state_n of_o the_o chutch_n of_o christ_n allege_v that_o in_o denmark_n they_o have_v bishop_n both_o in_o name_n and_o in_o office_n that_o in_o saxony_n th●y_v have_v arcbishop_n and_o bishop_n i●_n office_n but_o not_o in_o name_n that_o in_o tigure_n they_o have_v no_o senate_n of_o elder_n nor_o the_o discipline_n by_o excommunication_n which_o they_o more_o mislike_v that_o in_o geneva_n in_o scotland_n and_o in_o other_o place_n they_o have_v a_o government_n not_o much_o unlike_o that_o platform_n which_o be_v desire_v to_o be_v among_o we_o that_o in_o saxony_n and_o basil_n they_o kneel_v at_o the_o lord_n supper_n all_o tigure_n they_o sit_v and_o it_o be_v bring_v unto_o they_o and_o that_o in_o other_o place_n they_o go_v and_o receive_v it_o for_o the_o more_o expedition_n as_o they_o pass_v and_o that_o he_o doubt_v not_o but_o that_o the_o learned_a man_n who_o god_n send_v to_o instruct_v those_o church_n in_o which_o the_o gospel_n in_o those_o day_n be_v first_o receive_v have_v be_v direct_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o retain_v this_o liberty_n that_o in_o external_a government_n and_o other_o outward_a order_n they_o may_v choose_v such_o as_o they_o think_v in_o wisdom_n and_o godliness_n to_o be_v most_o convenient_a for_o the_o state_n of_o their_o country_n and_o disposition_n of_o the_o people_n unto_o all_o which_o we_o answer_v brief_o viz._n that_o bishop_n both_o in_o name_n and_o in_o office_n be_v of_o divine_a institution_n aught_o as_o well_o to_o be_v in_o the_o church_n of_o england_n as_o of_o denmark_n
