by_o the_o mere_a light_n of_o nature_n and_o therefore_o i_o conceive_v that_o the_o midwife_n be_v not_o egyptian_n but_o israelite_n to_o which_o our_o tran●latours_n seem_v to_o incline_v in_o translate_n the_o hebrew_a word_n here_o use_v not_o the_o midwife_n of_o the_o hebrew_n but_o the_o hebrew_a midwife_n as_o for_o these_o two_o that_o be_v here_o name_v we_o must_v not_o thence_o conclude_v that_o there_o be_v no_o more_o for_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o two_o midwife_n shall_v be_v sufficient_a for_o this_o employment_n among_o so_o many_o thousand_o woman_n of_o the_o israelite_n but_o these_o two_o be_v only_o name_v because_o they_o be_v the_o chief_a and_o perhaps_o the_o rest_n be_v under_o their_o direction_n and_o command_n or_o rather_o because_o he_o call_v
