of_o trouble_n travail_n and_o anguish_n yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v a_o good_a day_n therefore_o strive_v not_o to_o get_v from_o under_o it_o neither_o to_o make_v haste_n for_o the_o true_a godly_a sorrow_n work_v the_o true_a repentance_n which_o be_v never_o to_o be_v repent_v of_o and_o after_o the_o true_a repentance_n follow_v the_o true_a knowledge_n of_o remission_n &_o forgiveness_n and_o so_o thy_o inquity_n by_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o lord_n god_n almighty_n come_v to_o be_v blot_v out_o and_o then_o the_o time_n of_o refreshment_n come_v from_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o from_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o power_n etc._n etc._n and_o as_o there_o be_v a_o faithful_a abide_n in_o inward_a watchfulness_n and_o continual_a obedience_n to_o this_o heavenly_a light_n in_o which_o the_o beginning_n of_o the_o work_n of_o god_n be_v know_v there_o will_v be_v a_o go_v on_o from_o step_n to_o step_n in_o the_o foot_n step_v of_o the_o flock_n of_o christ_n jesus_n and_o a_o grow_a from_o strength_n to_o strength_n over_o sin_n and_o the_o nature_n thereof_o and_o from_o one_o degree_n of_o grace_n to_o another_o and_o as_o there_o be_v a_o faithful_a perseverance_n in_o this_o divine_a principle_n the_o eye_n of_o the_o understanding_n will_v be_v single_a and_o here_o every_o thing_n which_o have_v or_o do_v let_v will_v be_v see_v and_o the_o soul_n never_o start_v aside_o from_o a_o inward_a travil_n until_o that_o which_o hinder_v be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o way_n and_o until_o thou_o see_v all_o the_o rule_n and_o authority_n of_o the_o enemy_n to_o be_v subdue_v under_o the_o foot_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v anoint_v and_o the_o government_n in_o the_o soul_n upon_o his_o shoulder_n who_o right_a it_o be_v to_o reign_v over_o all_o and_o here_o salvation_n redemption_n and_o restoration_n be_v effectual_o enjoy_v through_o the_o effectual_a work_v and_o operate_n of_o the_o almighty_a power_n and_o arm_n of_o god_n almighty_n
unto_o who_o be_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o own_o work_n forever_o and_o so_o here_o will_v be_v a_o grow_a and_o increase_v until_o there_o be_v a_o come_n into_o that_o precious_a state_n and_o image_n in_o which_o man_n be_v before_o he_o fall_v the_o by_o path_n crooked_a way_n wiles_n and_o snare_n of_o the_o enemy_n discover_v now_o when_o the_o mind_n be_v turn_v to_o this_o divine_a heavenly_a principle_n and_o that_o therein_o the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v begin_v which_o before_o be_v say_v be_v the_o bring_v man_n into_o a_o real_a sensible_a knowledge_n of_o his_o state_n and_o condition_n then_o will_v the_o same_o destroyer_n that_o bring_v man_n into_o bondage_n at_o first_o and_o have_v keep_v he_o in_o bondage_n begin_v to_o work_v cunning_o and_o every_o way_n endeavour_n to_o destroy_v the_o work_n of_o god_n begin_v in_o the_o soul_n and_o that_o he_o may_v accomplish_v his_o end_n he_o will_v go_v about_o every_o way_n seek_v a_o entrance_n and_o will_v lay_v his_o temptation_n suitable_a to_o the_o propensity_n or_o inclination_n of_o the_o creature_n if_o the_o heart_n and_o mind_n be_v bow_v down_o under_o the_o weighty_a sense_n of_o iniquity_n the_o sin_n commit_v come_v in_o order_n and_o the_o many_o transgression_n in_o sight_n through_o which_o the_o sorrow_n and_o bitterness_n be_v great_a here_o the_o enemy_n will_v work_v in_o his_o transforming_n and_o although_o in_o appearance_n like_o the_o light_n yet_o in_o nature_n contrary_a thereto_o for_o albeit_o the_o light_n and_o appearance_n of_o god_n give_v the_o certain_a understanding_n of_o the_o inward_a state_n and_o bring_v sorrow_n because_o of_o sir_n and_o show_v the_o mountain_n of_o iniquity_n and_o the_o exalt_a hill_n of_o transgression_n yet_o its_o working_n inward_o beget_v a_o secret_a hope_n of_o overcome_v by_o the_o lord_n strength_n but_o then_o the_o enemy_n when_o he_o see_v the_o soul_n bew_v down_o as_o aforesaid_a oftentimes_o afflict_v and_o bring_v down_o the_o mind_n into_o unbelief_n of_o ever_o overcome_v thereby_o endeavour_v to_o sink_v the_o soul_n down_o into_o despair_n know_v if_o he_o overcome_v he_o still_o keep_v under_o his_o power_n although_o in_o another_o appearance_n but_o all_o that_o be_v exercise_v on_o this_o kind_n wait_v on_o the_o lord_n single_o with_o the_o mind_n stay_v in_o the_o light_n this_o snare_n will_v be_v discover_v for_o as_o i_o say_v although_o the_o true_a appearance_n of_o god_n heavenly_a light_n and_o grace_n bring_v a_o day_n of_o trouble_n sorrow_n and_o anguish_n yet_o that_o sorrow_n it_o not_o a_o sorrow_n without_o hope_n but_o the_o enemy_n work_v be_v to_o bring_v into_o a_o sorrow_n trouble_v and_o anguish_n without_o hope_n and_o to_o draw_v down_o the_o spirit_n into_o the_o chamber_n of_o darkness_n where_o there_o be_v no_o order_n but_o now_o when_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o soul_n peace_n be_v discover_v in_o this_o his_o work_v and_o the_o heart_n and_o soul_n through_o the_o love_n and_o power_n of_o god_n be_v comfort_v encourage_v and_o refresh_v and_o raise_v up_o into_o a_o measure_n of_o the_o live_a hope_n satisfaction_n and_o content_a then_o the_o old_a crooked_a subtle_a serpent_n endeavour_v to_o lead_v from_o off_o the_o inward_a daily_a travail_n that_o so_o judgement_n may_v not_o be_v bring_v forth_o into_o victory_n and_o so_o draw_v up_o the_o mind_n into_o a_o false_a persuasion_n of_o obedience_n and_o diligeuce_n whenas_o there_o be_v not_o a_o abide_n in_o that_o which_o give_v a_o true_a sight_n and_o sense_n of_o the_o state_n and_o condition_n and_o as_o before_o he_o will_v have_v destroy_v the_o hope_n that_o be_v a_o anchor_n sure_a and_o steadfast_a so_o now_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n he_o will_v beget_v a_o fasle_n hope_n and_o confidence_n and_o so_o bring_v out_o of_o the_o daily_a cross_n through_o which_o the_o nature_n which_o have_v alienate_v from_o god_n shall_v be_v destroy_v and_o if_o the_o working_n of_o the_o enemy_n be_v see_v and_o overcome_v in_o both_o these_o wiles_n and_o snare_n on_o the_o right_a hand_n and_o on_o the_o lest_o and_o that_o the_o work_n prosper_v even_o until_o much_o be_v subject_v and_o that_o through_o the_o daily_a obedience_n to_o the_o heavenly_a power_n much_o be_v slay_v and_o that_o the_o heart_n and_o mind_n come_v in_o a_o good_a measure_n to_o be_v cleanse_v and_o that_o in_o pure_a obedience_n and_o constant_a faithfulness_n in_o this_o light_n of_o righteousness_n a_o good_a progress_n be_v make_v through_o the_o administration_n of_o condemnation_n that_o be_v glorious_a in_o its_o time_n and_o that_o something_o of_o pure_a peace_n and_o heavenly_a joy_n spring_v and_o arise_v in_o the_o heart_n and_o soul_n here_o again_o the_o enemy_n will_v be_v subtle_o at_o work_n to_o betray_v and_o lead_v aside_o in_o persuade_v to_o sit_v down_o now_o as_o if_o all_o be_v do_v and_o so_o lead_v out_o from_o the_o feed_n on_o the_o tree_n of_o life_n to_o feed_v on_o the_o tree_n of_o knowledge_n of_o good_a and_o evil_a and_o so_o lead_v out_o into_o a_o liberty_n to_o break_v the_o commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o here_o at_o first_o subtle_o and_o cunning_o draw_v the_o mind_n out_o so_o far_o as_o to_o take_v a_o little_a liberty_n and_o draw_v the_o mind_n somewhat_o from_o that_o diligent_a watchfulness_n dread_a fear_v and_o awe_n it_o be_v in_o before_o in_o the_o inward_a travail_n of_o spirit_n and_o here_o if_o the_o destroy_a subtle_a enemy_n can_v but_o prevail_v a_o the_o outward_a visible_a thing_n that_o may_v somewhat_o affect_v the_o mind_n and_o as_o here_o he_o prevail_v and_o cause_v his_o work_n to_o prosper_v which_o he_o do_v subtle_o gradual_o and_o hidden_o the_o eye_n that_o be_v open_v come_v again_o through_o disobedience_n to_o be_v in_o some_o meature_n blind_v and_o here_o loss_n be_v sustain_v even_o before_o the_o unwatchful_a be_v aware_a and_o so_o the_o work_v of_o the_o enemy_n first_o be_v to_o cause_v such_o to_o make_v shipwreck_n of_o faith_n in_o a_o little_a measure_n that_o be_v not_o to_o have_v the_o daily_a belief_n to_o stand_v in_o the_o power_n the_o daily_a enjoyment_n of_o which_o come_v to_o be_v leave_v by_o degree_n there_o will_v then_o be_v a_o turn_v from_o the_o power_n of_o godliness_n into_o the_o form_n thereof_o and_o although_o at_o sometime_o the_o eternal_a power_n of_o the_o lord_n god_n may_v be_v feel_v in_o this_o estate_n yet_o there_o be_v not_o a_o daily_a feel_n after_o it_o the_o enjoyment_n thereof_o as_o to_o true_a refreshment_n &_o consolation_n come_v to_o be_v lose_v &_o a_o image_n come_v up_o in_o its_o place_n and_o the_o enemy_n provide_v and_o present_v some_o object_n or_o object_n so_o to_o take_v up_o the_o mind_n as_o that_o by_o degree_n he_o may_v enter_v in_o and_o defile_v the_o mind_n and_o draw_v it_o out_o from_o its_o true_a guide_n so_o as_o also_o to_o make_v shipwreck_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o now_o if_o the_o enemy_n be_v discover_v in_o these_o his_o working_n before_o he_o can_v so_o effect_v his_o work_n as_o to_o bring_v death_n and_o darkness_n over_o again_o and_o that_o the_o power_n of_o the_o lord_n break_v his_o snare_n and_o give_v a_o true_a weighty_a sense_n thereof_o through_o which_o trouble_v and_o anguish_n of_o spirit_n come_v here_o he_o will_v again_o transform_v and_o begin_v to_o work_v as_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o work_n like_o the_o condemn_v power_n of_o the_o lord_n endeavour_v to_o lead_v the_o mind_n down_o into_o despair_n of_o ever_o recover_v again_o into_o the_o former_a condition_n and_o hereby_o endeavour_v to_o draw_v the_o mind_n to_o look_v at_o he_o that_o have_v sting_v that_o so_o the_o remedy_n the_o soul-ransoming_a power_n of_o the_o lord_n may_v not_o be_v feel_v after_o nor_o look_v at_o but_o here_o as_o there_o be_v a_o true_a regard_n to_o the_o lord_n and_o a_o wait_a upon_o he_o in_o the_o way_n of_o his_o judgement_n have_v the_o faith_n and_o confidence_n to_o stand_v in_o his_o power_n the_o backslide_a will_v be_v heaâ—ed_v and_o return_v and_o diligent_o keep_v in_o the_o light_n the_o power_n of_o the_o lord_n god_n almighty_n will_v work_v over_o that_o which_o have_v hurt_v and_o endeavour_v like_o a_o rear_n lion_n to_o destroy_v etc._n etc._n and_o so_o lead_v on_o the_o way_n again_o but_o when_o deliverance_n be_v know_v again_o from_o this_o deadly_a snare_n and_o the_o work_n again_o go_v on_o prosperous_o until_o the_o house_n be_v sweep_v and_o garnish_v and_o there_o be_v a_o passage_n
