forth_o pure_a stream_n out_o of_o a_o impure_a and_o filthy_a 14._o fountain_n q._n but_o how_o can_v god_n just_o punish_v and_o that_o so_o severe_o the_o posterity_n of_o adam_n for_o his_o sin_n other_o also_o that_o have_v attain_v to_o a_o high_a degree_n of_o assurance_n and_o be_v able_a to_o conclude_v and_o that_o safe_o that_o their_o sin_n be_v forgive_v and_o that_o christ_n be_v their_o righteousness_n unto_o justification_n yet_o see_v their_o own_o weakness_n and_o know_v that_o they_o be_v sanctify_v but_o in_o part_n and_o have_v a_o law_n in_o their_o member_n rebel_a against_o the_o law_n of_o the_o mind_n 19_o they_o have_v need_n and_o do_v pray_v for_o a_o further_a discovery_n of_o god_n love_n to_o perfect_v their_o sanctification_n that_o they_o may_v thereby_o have_v a_o further_a evidence_n of_o their_o justification_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v forgive_v we_o our_o debt_n as_o we_o forgive_v our_o debtor_n that_o be_v lord_n work_n in_o we_o such_o a_o holy_a frame_n of_o spirit_n that_o see_v thou_o have_v free_o forgive_v we_o through_o christ_n all_o our_o sin_n we_o may_v also_o free_o for_o thy_o sake_n forgive_v our_o offend_a brother_n his_o trepass_n and_o that_o our_o readiness_n and_o willingness_n to_o pardon_v other_o may_v evidence_n unto_o we_o that_o thou_o have_v forgive_v we_o so_o that_o we_o be_v not_o teach_v to_o pray_v for_o pardon_n of_o sin_n as_o though_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o forgive_v we_o until_o we_o pray_v for_o it_o but_o rather_o that_o god_n will_v manifest_v himself_o so_o to_o we_o in_o act_n of_o sanctification_n as_o may_v testify_v unto_o we_o our_o justification_n and_o although_o repentance_n be_v not_o necessary_a as_o a_o mean_n of_o remission_n and_o so_o of_o life_n yet_o it_o be_v a_o necessary_a consequence_n or_o effect_n of_o life_n as_o the_o fruit_n be_v not_o a_o mean_n or_o a_o condition_n of_o life_n to_o the_o tree_n but_o a_o effect_n or_o evidence_n of_o life_n in_o the_o tree_n for_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o christ_n shall_v be_v in_o the_o soul_n and_o not_o act_v like_o himself_o according_a to_o that_o degree_n and_o measure_n in_o which_o he_o manifest_v himself_o therein_o now_o repentance_n be_v not_o only_o a_o sorrow_n 27._o for_o sin_n for_o that_o may_v be_v in_o wicked_a man_n neither_o be_v it_o a_o bare_a confession_n join_v with_o the_o former_a for_o both_o these_o may_v be_v do_v for_o self-end_n but_o when_o a_o man_n do_v indeed_o apprehend_v the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n free_o justify_v and_o pardon_v all_o sin_n and_o transgression_n whatsoever_o without_o any_o desert_n or_o desire_v and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o also_o sanctify_v and_o save_v he_o from_o all_o sin_n for_o the_o future_a then_o his_o soul_n be_v melt_v and_o dissolve_v into_o godly_a sorrow_n 5_o mourning_n and_o grieve_v not_o for_o fear_v of_o death_n and_o hell_n but_o because_o he_o have_v walk_v so_o contrary_a to_o god_n nothing_o but_o wrath_n and_o condemnation_n and_o admire_v at_o the_o infinite_a love_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n thus_o pardon_v and_o sanctify_v he_o and_o pray_v earnest_o unto_o god_n that_o he_o will_v make_v further_a discovery_n 12._o of_o his_o love_n unto_o he_o in_o jesus_n that_o he_o may_v be_v more_o vile_a in_o his_o own_o eye_n and_o that_o he_o may_v now_o namely_o 18._o his_o word_n in_o the_o read_n and_o preach_v of_o it_o as_o also_o godly_a conference_n with_o one_o another_o and_o prayer_n q._n how_o can_v the_o scripture_n be_v but_o the_o write_n of_o man_n be_v of_o any_o force_n to_o help_v we_o grow_v in_o grace_n etc._n etc._n a._n although_o the_o scripture_n be_v write_v by_o man_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o the_o device_n of_o the_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n now_o no_o man_n word_n can_v work_v any_o effect_n upon_o man_n heart_n they_o may_v bless_v or_o they_o may_v curse_v and_o all_o to_o no_o purpose_n they_o may_v bind_v and_o loose_v at_o their_o own_o pleasure_n but_o there_o be_v nothing_o do_v in_o the_o soul_n but_o where_o this_o word_n come_v indeed_o in_o the_o name_n that_o be_v in_o the_o power_n and_o of_o christ_n a._n christ_n be_v indeed_o at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n that_o be_v the_o lord_n have_v advance_v â—6_n he_o into_o his_o own_o glory_n and_o give_v he_o his_o own_o power_n crave_v any_o thing_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n for_o christ_n sake_n for_o so_o a_o wicked_a carnal_a wretch_n may_v do_v but_o to_o pray_v to_o the_o father_n in_o the_o 18._o name_n of_o lord_n jesus_n who_o be_v the_o son_n of_o his_o love_n q._n see_v that_o man_n of_o themselves_o can_v pray_v aright_o and_o that_o the_o lord_n to_o who_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v know_v our_o want_n before_o we_o pray_v what_o need_n have_v we_o then_o to_o pray_v 32._o a._n as_o man_n can_v pray_v of_o themselves_o so_o neither_o can_v they_o live_v of_o themselves_o for_o the_o life_n which_o the_o saint_n now_o live_v in_o the_o flesh_n be_v not_o by_o any_o power_n of_o their_o own_o but_o by_o the_o power_n of_o christ_n live_v 20._o in_o they_o so_o that_o there_o be_v not_o only_o a_o necessity_n of_o life_n in_o they_o in_o who_o christ_n live_v who_o be_v the_o life_n but_o a_o impossibility_n of_o not_o live_v in_o like_a manner_n though_o man_n can_v pray_v acceptable_o by_o their_o own_o power_n or_o worth_n yet_o if_o christ_n who_o be_v the_o mediator_n and_o intercessor_n live_v in_o they_o there_o be_v not_o only_o a_o necessity_n of_o pray_v but_o it_o be_v altogether_o impossible_a 15._o that_o they_o shall_v not_o pray_v christ_n be_v in_o their_o heart_n the_o spirit_n of_o supplication_n and_o of_o adoption_n cause_v they_o to_o cry_v abba_n father_n yea_o in_o he_o they_o have_v access_n 12._o with_o boldness_n unto_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n and_o though_o the_o lord_n do_v know_v our_o want_n yet_o he_o have_v command_v we_o to_o 37_o pray_v ask_v and_o you_o shall_v have_v etc._n etc._n and_o you_o 2._o fight_v and_o war_n and_o have_v not_o because_o you_o ask_v not_o the_o lord_n will_v have_v his_o people_n to_o rejoice_v but_o they_o must_v pray_v ask_v and_o you_o shall_v receive_v that_o your_o joy_n may_v be_v 24._o full_a now_o although_o the_o lord_n command_v we_o to_o pray_v he_o do_v not_o intend_v that_o we_o shall_v not_o the_o least_o shadow_n of_o turn_v and_o if_o he_o have_v determine_v 17._o to_o bestow_v any_o favour_n or_o mercy_n he_o will_v do_v it_o without_o our_o prayer_n and_o if_o he_o have_v not_o if_o it_o be_v not_o quench_v with_o carnal_a work_n 19_o of_o the_o flesh_n as_o worldly_a care_n worldly_a sorrow_n worldly_a joy_n etc._n etc._n now_o if_o there_o be_v any_o time_n wherein_o the_o of_o the_o tree_n 10._o and_o if_o any_o tree_n be_v barren_a or_o do_v not_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n it_o be_v to_o be_v hew_v down_o and_o cast_v into_o the_o fire_n hereby_o give_v they_o to_o understand_v that_o unless_o they_o do_v desist_v from_o all_o their_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a way_n and_o course_n and_o amend_v their_o evil_a life_n 14._o there_o be_v no_o remission_n of_o redeem_v a_o people_n from_o all_o iniquity_n and_o conform_v they_o to_o himself_o in_o all_o holiness_n and_o so_o present_v they_o to_o the_o father_n in_o himself_o spotless_a and_o blameless_a for_o this_o be_v the_o good_a pleasure_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o it_o be_v prosperous_a in_o the_o hand_n of_o christ_n for_o he_o do_v it_o effectual_o yea_o christ_n do_v prolong_v his_o day_n
