and_o the_o love_n of_o ourselves_o 1._o therefore_o of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n 2._o of_o our_o neighbour_n and_o 3._o of_o ourselves_o 1_o this_o love_n of_o god_n be_v so_o glorious_a and_o joy_n ous_a a_o thing_n when_o it_o be_v express_v in_o word_n what_o joy_n i_o and_o glory_n shall_v it_o be_v to_o seel_v it_o and_o how_o much_o more_o to_o do_v it_o this_o be_v the_o holy_a work_n of_o love_n and_o to_o omit_v they_o will_v be_v a_o great_a hindrance_n to_o it_o for_o neither_o be_v the_o vice_n which_o be_v prohibit_v any_o other_o thing_n than_o the_o inordinate_a love_n of_o vain_a thing_n which_o do_v occupy_v that_o place_n which_o be_v dipute_v only_o to_o the_o love_n of_o god._n not_o do_v vertuae_n serve_v to_o any_o other_o purpose_n but_o to_o despose_v the_o soul_n to_o this_o love_n yet_o be_v they_o so_o necessary_a thereunto_o that_o it_o be_v great_a presumption_n to_o think_v to_o obtain_v it_o without_o the_o mighty_a exercise_n of_o such_o virtue_n that_o therefore_o we_o may_v fit_o speak_v of_o this_o precious_a love_n we_o will_v first_o declare_v the_o various_a manner_n of_o lover_n but_o withal_o judge_v that_o best_a which_o be_v most_o many_o be_v a_o testimony_n unto_o they_o when_o they_o have_v attain_v a_o great_a knowledge_n of_o truth_n namely_o that_o they_o have_v a_o long_a time_n love_v god_n as_o a_o most_o sweet_a lord_n who_o have_v communicate_v himself_o to_o they_o as_o a_o liberal_a benefactor_n in_o who_o service_n they_o be_v delight_v and_o often_o have_v ask_v of_o he_o many_o benefit_n with_o great_a delectation_n in_o the_o contemptation_n of_o his_o bounty_n and_o of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o excellent_a grace_n which_o they_o ask_v of_o he_o and_o that_o often_o they_o come_v unto_o he_o as_o to_o the_o fountain_n in_o which_o they_o find_v so_o great_a sweetness_n as_o that_o they_o think_v there_o be_v nothing_o a_o want_v to_o their_o love_n of_o god_n for_o they_o think_v that_o the_o greatness_n of_o that_o sweetness_n which_o they_o feel_v in_o the_o sensitive_a appetite_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o greatness_n of_o that_o love_n and_o will_v to_o god_n that_o all_o man_n who_o do_v not_o love_n god_n do_v so_o love_v he_o yet_o god_n forbid_v that_o those_o who_o love_n god_n shall_v be_v content_a with_o this_o love_n although_o it_o be_v very_o good_a and_o so_o good_a as_o that_o it_o suffice_v thus_o far_o that_o for_o certain_a day_n beginner_n do_v exercise_v themselves_o therein_o for_o they_o may_v so_o easy_o come_v to_o that_o more_o excellent_a manner_n of_o love_a god_n which_o follow_v it_o a_o argument_n that_o this_o love_n i_o have_v speak_v of_o be_v frail_a see_v that_o he_o who_o so_o love_v assoon_o as_o that_o sweetness_n be_v a_o want_v or_o go_v go_v on_o with_o a_o abject_a mind_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n and_o be_v so_o overcome_v of_o the_o frailty_n of_o his_o mind_n as_o if_o he_o never_o have_v have_v any_o such_o love_n for_o he_o do_v so_o much_o procure_v unto_o himself_o corporal_a delight_n as_o to_o feed_v on_o delicate_a viand_n to_o drink_v the_o most_o pleasant_a licour_n to_o wear_v most_o gorgeous_a clothes_n and_o such_o other_o vanity_n please_v to_o his_o appetite_n sensual_a friendship_n honour_n favour_n even_o as_o he_o do_v that_o have_v never_o begin_v to_o taste_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v of_o god_n nay_o oft_o time_n at_o such_o time_n as_o he_o be_v visit_v with_o such_o a_o apprehension_n of_o sweetness_n he_o be_v take_v up_o with_o many_o vain_a affection_n and_o very_o sensual_a be_v draw_v thereunto_o by_o the_o beauty_n and_o pleasure_n of_o some_o person_n again_o he_o desire_v to_o be_v see_v and_o to_o be_v account_v devoute_a and_o grieve_v if_o he_o be_v not_o repute_v for_o such_o nor_o do_v he_o rejoice_v when_o he_o understand_v that_o other_o be_v account_v more_o fervent_a in_o devotion_n and_o such_o other_o blemish_n he_o cast_v upon_o himself_o all_o which_o be_v so_o abject_a that_o they_o suffer_v not_o the_o society_n of_o that_o excellent_a
love_n of_o god_n of_o which_o anon_o although_o it_o have_v not_o that_o sweetness_n therefore_o we_o may_v conclude_v that_o such_o love_n be_v but_o frail_a see_v it_o be_v the_o love_n of_o he_o that_o love_v for_o his_o own_o benefit_n and_o comfort_n yet_o let_v we_o express_v the_o excellence_n of_o this_o sensitive_a love_n for_o albeit_o such_o love_n be_v frail_a yet_o be_v it_o very_a near_o disposition_n to_o bring_v four_o many_o act_n of_o that_o more_o sublime_a and_o excellent_a love_n when_o he_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o it_o there_o be_v therefore_o a_o more_o high_a and_o heavenly_a love_n then_o that_o former_a unto_o which_o many_o have_v undoubted_o attain_v if_o they_o have_v know_v it_o and_o the_o more_o of_o this_o love_n that_o the_o soul_n acquire_v of_o the_o great_a perfection_n shall_v it_o be_v this_o love_n we_o will_v describe_v with_o word_n rather_o declare_v what_o we_o ought_v to_o do_v to_o obtain_v it_o and_o be_v heavenly_a love_n namely_o that_o the_o be_v glory_n and_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v desire_v for_o god_n himself_o concern_v which_o we_o must_v consider_v two_o thing_n 1._o what_o it_o be_v that_o cause_v so_o excellent_a a_o thing_n to_o wax_v cold_a &_o to_o come_v to_o such_o a_o aguish_a fit_n see_v it_o be_v that_o divine_a heat_n itself_o 2._o what_o remedy_n be_v to_o be_v apply_v to_o this_o disease_n for_o the_o 1._o we_o will_v express_v it_o by_o this_o comparison_n if_o be_v induce_v to_o behold_v something_o which_o be_v of_o great_a value_n it_o come_v to_o pass_v by_o the_o defect_n of_o our_o knowledge_n that_o the_o same_o thing_n do_v seem_v unto_o we_o to_o be_v of_o small_a estimation_n and_o worth_n undoubted_o we_o find_v that_o our_o appetite_n grow_v cold_a whereby_o we_o desire_v to_o see_v it_o albeit_o in_o truth_n the_o thing_n be_v of_o as_o much_o worth_n as_o it_o be_v first_o commend_v for_o the_o same_o thing_n befall_v many_o in_o this_o same_o love_n of_o god_n whilst_o they_o both_o slender_o behold_v the_o thing_n they_o love_v and_o the_o adversary_n beside_o set_v upon_o they_o which_o thing_n chief_o chance_v unto_o they_o who_o be_v prevent_v with_o that_o sweetness_n and_o contentment_n which_o this_o love_n usual_o bring_v with_o it_o who_o hear_v that_o this_o love_n consist_v herein_o that_o we_o do_v desire_n and_o inward_o feel_v in_o ourselves_o a_o complacency_n and_o pleasure_n from_o all_o the_o good_a and_o glory_n which_o be_v in_o god_n wax_v very_o cold_a think_v that_o this_o work_n be_v not_o so_o high_a and_o excellent_a and_o judge_v that_o there_o be_v other_o thing_n as_o well_o corporal_a as_o spiriturall_a which_o may_v be_v have_v more_o sublime_a and_o worthy_a imagine_v many_o thing_n which_o they_o judge_v to_o be_v of_o more_o price_n and_o that_o it_o become_v the_o servant_n of_o so_o great_a a_o lord_n to_o do_v they_o as_o work_n of_o great_a corporal_a fortitude_n as_o for_o the_o point_n with_o one_o shock_n to_o cast_v down_o some_o mighty_a tower_n with_o one_o blow_n of_o a_o sword_n to_o cut_v in_o sunder_o ten_o squadron_n of_o soldier_n again_o to_o show_v some_o great_a sign_n of_o knowledge_n as_o to_o the_o purpose_n if_o one_o shall_v make_v all_o the_o heathen_n use_v all_o the_o science_n and_o knowledge_n they_o have_v to_o be_v speechless_a or_o some_o other_o great_a wonder_n which_o be_v of_o great_a admiration_n in_o the_o world_n as_o continual_a contemplation_n the_o work_n of_o miracle_n prophesy_v and_o such_o thing_n which_o be_v think_v by_o those_o that_o be_v thus_o tempt_v to_o be_v of_o much_o more_o excellency_n then_o to_o lift_v up_o the_o soul_n to_o god_n that_o it_o may_v rejoice_v that_o in_o god_n be_v all_o good_a and_o glory_n which_o he_o have_v and_o therefore_o they_o wax_v cold_a in_o direct_v all_o that_o they_o be_v to_o do_v in_o this_o life_n to_o this_o only_a end_n to_o attain_v to_o that_o love_n which_o in_o their_o eye_n seem_v not_o so_o excellent_a a_o thing_n albeit_o they_o believe_v it_o to_o be_v such_o because_o the_o sacred_a scripture_n affirm_v it_o and_o they_o do_v almost_o admire_v that_o god_n will_v prefer_v this_o love_n before_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o can_v be_v do_v but_o it_o be_v to_o be_v consider_v that_o as_o the_o appetite_n and_o desire_n of_o hurfull_a and_o loathsome_a thing_n for_o the_o most_o part_n proceed_v unto_o the_o sick_a from_o one_o and_o the_o same_o root_n namely_o from_o the_o infection_n and_o corruption_n of_o the_o palate_n so_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v in_o he_o who_o do_v value_v these_o sign_n of_o great_a corporal_a fortitude_n to_o be_v of_o much_o worth_n and_o this_o love_n of_o god_n not_o to_o be_v of_o any_o such_o esteem_n for_o this_o proceed_v from_o the_o infect_a pallate_n of_o the_o soul_n as_o have_v be_v say_v in_o the_o four_o instruction_n and_o from_o the_o assault_n and_o temptation_n of_o satan_n yet_o be_v not_o good_a meat_n more_o vile_a then_o evil_a meat_n nor_o the_o love_n of_o god_n less_o excellent_a
than_o other_o work_n but_o much_o more_o glorious_a and_o precious_a yet_o do_v such_o coldness_n bring_v no_o small_a benefit_n to_o such_o as_o be_v frail_a for_o neither_o do_v the_o greatness_n of_o the_o work_n invite_v they_o see_v they_o perceive_v it_o not_o nor_o yet_o the_o taste_n of_o the_o thing_n add_v any_o strength_n unto_o they_o and_o from_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o of_o these_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o in_o their_o labour_n their_o strength_n be_v defective_a therefore_o it_o be_v 2._o fit_n that_o we_o endeavour_v to_o apply_v some_o remedy_n to_o this_o sore_n have_v already_o see_v the_o cause_n of_o this_o coldness_n the_o first_o remedy_n and_o most_o common_a to_o cure_v this_o malady_n be_v to_o provide_v that_o the_o corrupt_a appetite_n as_o in_o the_o 4._o instruction_n may_v be_v heal_v and_o by_o and_o by_o those_o who_o before_o feel_v that_o coldness_n shall_v perceive_v their_o former_a work_n which_o they_o judge_v to_o be_v admirable_a to_o be_v indeed_o very_o abject_a if_o they_o be_v compare_v to_o the_o love_n of_o god_n this_o do_v the_o apostle_n who_o palate_n be_v most_o sound_a teach_v we_o save_v if_o i_o all_o to_o be_v of_o less_o value_n than_o love_n the_o same_o have_v the_o son_n of_o god_n himself_o teach_v as_o we_o have_v already_o say_v therefore_o it_o be_v manifest_v that_o love_n be_v the_o chief_a of_o all_o work_n and_o duty_n see_v without_o it_o all_o other_o thing_n be_v nothing_o and_o without_o any_o further_a proof_n this_o aught_o to_o suffice_v we_o that_o the_o eternal_a wisdom_n of_o god_n which_o can_v lie_v have_v will_v choose_a and_o command_v we_o to_o do_v this_o before_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o can_v be_v do_v in_o heaven_n or_o earth_n notwithstanding_o 2._o there_o be_v another_o remedy_n more_o singular_a which_o will_v make_v we_o something_o feel_v the_o inexplicable_a greatness_n of_o this_o work_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o the_o mean_n hereof_o be_v that_o we_o unite_v and_o most_o strong_o glue_v our_o will_n to_o that_o will_v which_o be_v of_o infinite_a excellency_n and_o that_o we_o join_v they_o in_o that_o manner_n that_o it_o be_v carry_v to_o nothing_o else_o but_o unto_o that_o which_o that_o infinite_a will_n will_v have_v it_o for_o than_o shall_v our_o will_n be_v of_o much_o value_n when_o our_o own_o will_n be_v abandon_v they_o have_v the_o will_n of_o that_o infinite_a will_n which_o be_v god_n himself_o for_o he_o evermore_o willl_v love_v and_o rejoice_v for_o the_o infinite_a good_a which_o he_o himself_o have_v beside_o for_o many_o cause_n god_n will_v have_v we_o to_o desire_v that_o which_o he_o so_o great_o desire_v 1_o for_o his_o only_a goodness_n whereby_o he_o vouchsafe_v to_o sublimate_v our_o will_n unto_o so_o great_a nobility_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v in_o his_o sight_n of_o great_a worth_n 2_o see_v he_o have_v create_v we_o to_o so_o great_a a_o good_a it_o be_v be_v imagine_v we_o say_v therefore_o that_o lest_o we_o shall_v be_v idle_a see_v god_n have_v no_o need_n of_o any_o thing_n nor_o can_v have_v more_o good_a than_o now_o he_o have_v it_o be_v very_o just_a that_o we_o as_o the_o obsequious_a and_o dutiful_a servant_n of_o so_o great_a a_o lord_n all_o our_o life_n long_o be_v herein_o employ_v to_o rejoice_v at_o the_o good_a and_o glory_n of_o god_n himself_o and_o indeed_o every_o one_o may_v easy_o see_v that_o it_o be_v most_o just_a and_o of_o great_a weight_n that_o all_o thing_n as_o well_o in_o heaven_n as_o earth_n omit_v all_o other_o thing_n shall_v evermore_o be_v herein_o exercise_v to_o rejoice_v at_o the_o good_a and_o glory_n wherewith_o god_n be_v infinite_o fill_v 3_o that_o for_o which_o god_n will_v above_o all_o other_o thing_n have_v our_o will_n unite_v unto_o he_o be_v for_o that_o be_v yet_o on_o the_o earth_n we_o shall_v begin_v to_o seek_v that_o infinite_a will_n from_o the_o fulfil_n whereof_o all_o the_o blessedness_n which_o we_o have_v or_o hope_v for_o in_o the_o heaven_n be_v derive_v unto_o he_o that_o be_v lead_v with_o this_o love_n for_o it_o be_v true_a that_o learned_a divine_n do_v say_v that_o gloria_fw-la nihil_fw-la aliud_fw-la est_fw-la quam_fw-la gratia_fw-la consummata_fw-la glory_n be_v nothing_o die_v but_o grace_n consummate_v to_o possess_v charity_n here_o in_o a_o which_o be_v heavenly_a may_v be_v perfect_v by_o this_o love_n wherein_o the_o excellency_n of_o this_o love_n will_v appear_v therefore_o we_o must_v consider_v which_o be_v also_o again_o and_o again_o to_o be_v read_v and_o ponder_v that_o all_o our_o joy_n proceed_v from_o the_o fulfil_n of_o our_o own_o wiss_v and_o by_o how_o much_o more_o our_o will_n desire_v any_o thing_n and_o by_o how_o much_o more_o perfect_o it_o fulfil_v that_o which_o it_o desire_v by_o so_o much_o do_v it_o obtain_v a_o great_a joy_n to_o these_o thing_n let_v we_o consider_v that_o the_o blessedness_n or_o perfect_a joy_n in_o heaven_n proceed_v from_o the_o vision_n &_o behold_v of_o god_n who_o in_o the_o same_o moment_n wherein_o he_o be_v see_v infuse_v into_o all_o that_o see_v he_o a_o most_o perfect_a knowledge_n that_o he_o be_v most_o worthy_a to_o have_v all_o the_o good_a and_o infinite_a glory_n which_o he_o have_v for_o assoon_o as_o they_o see_v he_o they_o become_v all_o prudent_a and_o wise_a so_o that_o every_o one_o may_v see_v what_o be_v convenient_a for_o he_o to_o which_o knowledge_n of_o god_n be_v join_v the_o love_n of_o god_n above_o all_o create_a thing_n together_o with_o a_o ineffable_a desire_n that_o he_o may_v possess_v all_o the_o good_a and_o glory_n which_o he_o be_v worthy_a of_o which_o desire_n and_o most_o intense_a and_o enlarge_a will_n of_o every_o man_n this_o clear_a vision_n of_o god_n do_v succeed_v whereby_o they_o know_v and_o see_v apparent_o that_o the_o same_o their_o desire_n be_v far_o more_o perfect_o fulfil_v than_o they_o be_v able_a to_o comprehend_v for_o they_o see_v and_o understand_v god_n himself_o who_o they_o so_o much_o love_n beautify_v with_o so_o great_a good_a and_o glory_n that_o for_o the_o infinity_n of_o it_o they_o be_v not_o able_a perfect_o to_o understand_v nor_o yet_o be_v able_a to_o come_v to_o die_v defect_n or_o increase_v of_o the_o glory_n and_o again_o that_o so_o much_o be_v every_o one_o joy_n the_o great_a by_o how_o much_o his_o desire_n be_v great_a and_o more_o perfect_o fulfil_v and_o here_o be_v open_v the_o largeness_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o bless_a see_v their_o desire_n in_o such_o a_o sublime_a manner_n be_v fulfil_v as_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v more_o excellent_a beside_o that_o desire_n be_v of_o the_o infinite_a good_a of_o god_n himself_o who_o they_o do_v more_o love_n and_o desire_n than_o they_o do_v the_o glory_n which_o proper_o belong_v to_o themselves_o bless_a be_v the_o man_n who_o on_o earth_n shall_v with_o a_o intimous_a will_v moment_n to_o love_n god_n albeit_o no_o sin_n concur_v with_o it_o we_o may_v consider_v that_o the_o most_o skilful_a workman_n make_v no_o gain_n but_o while_o he_o labour_v in_o his_o faculty_n so_o neither_o be_v the_o servant_n of_o god_n enrich_v in_o love_n but_o while_o he_o produce_v special_a act_n of_o this_o love_n now_o have_v this_o consider_v this_o most_o heavenly_a love_n it_o follow_v 4._o to_o show_v what_o course_n be_v to_o be_v hold_v for_o the_o obtain_n of_o it_o but_o before_o we_o open_v that_o way_n let_v we_o know_v that_o many_o have_v err_v herein_o think_v that_o the_o business_n may_v compendious_o be_v do_v and_o will_v present_o at_o the_o very_a beginning_n be_v full_o exereâ—sed_v in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n not_o sufficient_o prepare_v themselves_o to_o â—he_v work_n for_o look_v upon_o 〈◊〉_d or_o in_o some_o sort_n smell_v some_o thing_n concern_v the_o greatness_n of_o it_o it_o seem_v unto_o they_o a_o garden_n of_o such_o pleasure_n that_o not_o consider_v nor_o enter_v the_o journey_n which_o the_o holy_a gospel_n prescibe_v unto_o such_o love_n whereof_o we_o speak_v they_o will_v not_o enter_v in_o at_o the_o door_n but_o break_v in_o another_o way_n and_o whilst_o they_o provide_v not_o for_o themselves_o they_o find_v themselves_o wander_v quite_o out_o of_o the_o way_n sure_o god_n be_v so_o potent_a that_o he_o can_v at_o one_o leap_n place_v a_o man_n in_o the_o high_a room_n of_o the_o world_n yet_o he_o that_o leap_v be_v to_o fear_v because_o sometime_o he_o shall_v think_v himself_o to_o be_v lead_v of_o god_n when_o indeed_o he_o be_v lead_v by_o his_o own_o presumption_n and_o so_o may_v we_o think_v of_o he_o who_o leave_v the_o way_n of_o the_o gospel_n will_v by_o &_o by_o leap_v up_o to_o the_o high_a bound_n of_o this_o love_n nor_o yet_o will_v we_o have_v such_o as_o prepare_v themselves_o to_o this_o excellent_a love_n in_o the_o begin_n quite_o to_o forsake_v it_o but_o least_o in_o the_o beginning_n they_o shall_v cast_v themselves_o whole_o upon_o it_o they_o shall_v forget_v the_o preparation_n and_o way_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o the_o son_n of_o god_n have_v deliver_v unto_o us._n for_o so_o much_o more_o certain_a shall_v the_o preparation_n be_v by_o how_o much_o one_o do_v more_o high_o place_n himself_o in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n by_o such_o exercise_n as_o the_o gospel_n deliver_v unto_o we_o and_o as_o be_v say_v be_v necessary_a to_o that_o love_n therefore_o the_o humble_a servant_n of_o god_n who_o endeavour_n to_o receive_v into_o his_o soul_n so_o precious_a a_o liquor_n that_o through_o the_o sweetness_n of_o glory_n he_o may_v glorify_v his_o most_o high_a god_n must_v 4._o for_o many_o day_n exercise_v himself_o in_o the_o thing_n before_o speak_v and_o above_o all_o thing_n that_o he_o extricate_v and_o acquit_v himself_o from_o himself_o but_o when_o he_o shall_v see_v himself_o right_o or_o sufficient_o at_o least_o exercise_v herein_o if_o the_o lord_n be_v please_v to_o help_v he_o with_o the_o blessing_n of_o sweetness_n they_o shall_v be_v a_o great_a help_n unto_o he_o to_o love_v with_o facility_n but_o if_o this_o sweetness_n be_v a_o want_v or_o else_o whilst_o this_o sweetness_n offer_v itself_o he_o must_v of_o purpose_n work_n on_o this_o manner_n let_v he_o brief_o call_v to_o mind_n how_o great_a that_o good_a and_o glory_n be_v which_o god_n have_v consider_v he_o as_o the_o best_a and_o most_o worthy_a that_o all_o man_n shall_v joy_v at_o his_o good_a and_o present_o let_v he_o incline_v his_o will_n to_o desire_v the_o same_o thing_n and_o to_o rejoice_v at_o that_o so_o great_a good_a of_o god_n &_o let_v he_o persist_v in_o that_o will_v as_o long_o as_o he_o can_v and_o if_o he_o be_v a_o little_a distract_a or_o cool_v herein_o let_v he_o turn_v himself_o by_o and_o by_o in_o the_o same_o manner_n of_o do_v and_o so_o as_o much_o as_o be_v possible_a let_v he_o not_o omit_v to_o produce_v the_o act_n whereby_o he_o may_v desire_v or_o love_v that_o good_a which_o god_n have_v and_o in_o mind_n let_v he_o often_o leap_v for_o joy_n consider_v god_n to_o be_v most_o infinite_o replenish_v with_o infinite_a good_a from_o the_o long_a continuance_n of_o this_o exercise_n he_o must_v needs_o be_v lift_v up_o to_o that_o most_o high_a love_n nor_o be_v it_o any_o other_o thing_n to_o bring_v four_o the_o frequent_a act_n of_o love_n then_o if_o one_o hear_v and_o that_o in_o a_o hour_n space_n relate_v many_o stratagem_n of_o some_o singular_a friend_n or_o some_o great_a honour_n do_v unto_o he_o and_o rejoice_v at_o every_o one_o of_o they_o every_o one_o of_o these_o joy_n proceed_v from_o affection_n towards_o he_o be_v call_v the_o act_n of_o love_n see_v then_o the_o glory_n and_o honour_n of_o god_n be_v infinite_a and_o of_o infinite_a excellency_n and_o in_o like_a manner_n whatsoever_o he_o do_v or_o creat_v and_o every_o one_o of_o these_o show_v his_o singular_a dignity_n and_o honour_n nor_o do_v all_o the_o moment_n of_o our_o life_n suffice_v to_o hear_v or_o consider_v they_o it_o be_v our_o part_n at_o the_o least_o to_o cast_v they_o up_o under_o the_o name_n of_o infinite_a good_a and_o glory_n and_o to_o produce_v the_o act_n of_o our_o will_n incline_v it_o to_o desire_v it_o and_o rejoice_v at_o it_o all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n see_v we_o owe_v this_o unto_o he_o more_o than_o we_o do_v to_o any_o other_o friend_n in_o that_o of_o his_o great_a bounty_n so_o great_a a_o part_n of_o his_o glory_n do_v result_v and_o rebound_v upon_o us._n and_o one_o may_v so_o exercise_v himselue_n in_o these_o act_n albeit_o that_o sweetness_n which_o they_o call_v devotion_n be_v a_o want_a that_o in_o every_o business_n and_o in_o every_o place_n he_o may_v love_v god_n not_o need_v hereunto_o any_o secret_a place_n or_o any_o other_o sequestration_n of_o himself_o as_o it_o daily_o fall_v out_o that_o a_o friend_n rejoice_v whilst_o he_o hear_v that_o of_o late_a some_o good_a thing_n have_v befall_v his_o friend_n &_o so_o sudden_o joy_v at_o it_o without_o seek_v any_o other_o time_n place_n or_o sequestration_n unto_o the_o produce_v of_o these_o act_n it_o help_v much_o to_o consider_v the_o second_o and_o six_o instruction_n and_o also_o that_o in_o the_o chapter_n of_o the_o hate_v of_o one_o self_n whence_o we_o collect_v how_o these_o act_n ought_v to_o be_v produce_v and_o that_o it_o all_o must_v be_v do_v for_o that_o god_n be_v most_o worthy_a that_o we_o shall_v do_v it_o for_o he_o nor_o ought_v it_o to_o seem_v a_o labour_n or_o stay_n of_o we_o for_o these_o thing_n to_o have_v recourse_n to_o the_o foresay_a instruction_n for_o when_o as_o for_o a_o few_o day_n this_o thing_n shall_v be_v do_v one_o may_v then_o easy_o work_v yea_o without_o return_v to_o they_o any_o more_o happy_o it_o may_v seem_v to_o some_o to_o be_v a_o more_o easy_a way_n to_o come_v to_o this_o love_n if_o they_o do_v fervent_o ask_v it_o of_o god_n by_o prayer_n as_o we_o have_v speak_v in_o the_o tract_n of_o prayer_n together_o with_o the_o exercise_n of_o virtue_n whereof_o we_o have_v speak_v and_o if_o they_o be_v right_o examine_v they_o be_v almost_o the_o same_o but_o yet_o he_o shall_v more_o brief_o and_o more_o divine_o attain_v unto_o it_o who_o together_o with_o prayer_n shall_v know_v now_o to_o help_v himself_o with_o the_o act_n of_o the_o six_o instruction_n and_o that_o in_o that_o tract_n of_o the_o affection_n of_o the_o mind_n for_o in_o and_o desire_v the_o good_a and_o glory_n of_o god_n do_v yet_o find_v the_o will_n very_o dull_a hereunto_o therefore_o to_o give_v remedy_n to_o this_o disease_n we_o believe_v that_o this_o come_v so_o to_o pass_v because_o there_o want_v the_o holy_a hatred_n of_o ourselves_o which_o our_o redeemer_n teach_v we_o as_o in_o the_o six_o instruction_n or_o else_o some_o of_o our_o affection_n cleave_v to_o some_o earthly_a thing_n as_o the_o love_n of_o some_o delight_n not_o necessary_a or_o a_o affection_n to_o some_o person_n not_o right_o order_v he_o therefore_o that_o shall_v find_v himself_o so_o dull_a ought_v diligent_o to_o search_v out_o in_o himself_o such_o defect_n or_o affection_n and_o to_o take_v it_o away_o with_o contrary_a act_n nor_o be_v it_o any_o other_o thing_n to_o be_v willing_a to_o incline_v the_o will_n to_o bring_v four_o the_o act_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n above_o all_o thing_n not_o
have_v first_o obtain_v that_o holy_a and_o precious_a hatred_n of_o ourselves_o or_o die_v affection_n to_o some_o earthly_a thing_n remain_v or_o some_o other_o thing_n that_o may_v bring_v delight_n not_o order_v actual_o or_o at_o the_o least_o virtual_o towards_o god_n â—hen_o with_o a_o beetle_n or_o mall_n to_o be_v willing_a to_o clean_a those_o thing_n which_o do_v require_v a_o razor_n or_o a_o most_o sharp_a knife_n sure_o it_o behove_v the_o will_n that_o will_v bring_v four_o the_o act_n of_o true_a and_o sincere_a love_n to_o be_v so_o sharp_a that_o it_o may_v penetrate_v whatsoever_o oppose_v it_o until_o it_o do_v come_v unto_o god_n and_o such_o a_o will_v even_o in_o peace_n and_o without_o my_o labour_n will_v produce_v a_o thousand_o act_n of_o love_n and_o many_o more_o in_o one_o day_n whereof_o the_o least_o suffice_v to_o advance_v a_o man_n to_o a_o great_a degree_n of_o heavenly_a glory_n and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n he_o that_o endeavour_n to_o lift_v up_o himself_o to_o produce_v the_o act_n of_o love_n by_o a_o â—ill_n dull_v and_o blunt_v with_o a_o â—mall_a inordinate_a love_n it_o be_v so_o difficult_a for_o this_o man_n to_o love_n as_o it_o be_v to_o â—devide_v the_o heaven_n with_o a_o mall_n for_o the_o sublimity_n of_o perfect_a love_n suffer_v not_o together_o with_o it_o a_o thing_n so_o vile_a and_o abject_a nor_o ought_v any_o to_o admire_v that_o to_o the_o obtain_n of_o this_o love_n such_o circumspection_n be_v here_o advise_v say_v that_o many_o have_v obtain_v it_o without_o use_v so_o many_o caution_n and_o without_o this_o method_n and_o course_n to_o which_o i_o answer_v that_o albeit_o many_o have_v obtain_v this_o love_n long_o before_o the_o write_n hereof_o yet_o who_o will_v right_o weigh_v what_o our_o redeemer_n mean_v when_o he_o say_v that_o all_o the_o law_n hang_v upon_o love_n shall_v plain_o perceive_v that_o no_o man_n obtain_v it_o the_o common_a way_n without_o these_o course_n here_o prescribe_v which_o be_v no_o other_o but_o such_o as_o be_v draw_v from_o the_o sacred_a scripture_n according_a the_o declaration_n of_o the_o father_n which_o method_n and_o mean_n our_o lord_n god_n of_o his_o infinite_a bounty_n and_o goodness_n do_v manifest_a to_o all_o his_o elect_a both_o small_a and_o great_a who_o goodness_n be_v also_o please_v to_o grant_v that_o now_o at_o the_o last_o these_o thing_n gather_v together_o for_o the_o common_a instruction_n may_v be_v publish_v unto_o all_o that_o our_o frailty_n and_o misery_n every_o day_n increase_v there_o may_v ever_o abound_v the_o facility_n of_o know_v that_o which_o be_v so_o necessary_a for_o us._n and_o if_o they_o urge_v further_o affirm_v that_o they_o have_v attain_v unto_o this_o love_n without_o these_o course_n and_o mean_n i_o dare_v presume_v to_o entreat_v they_o to_o take_v heed_n least_o happy_o this_o their_o love_n be_v that_o cold_a and_o weak_a love_n whereof_o i_o speak_v in_o the_o begin_n of_o this_o treatise_n which_o see_v it_o suffer_v many_o blemish_n and_o blur_n to_o be_v in_o it_o there_o be_v no_o wonder_n if_o without_o either_o method_n or_o labour_n it_o be_v obtain_v 2_o from_o this_o view_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n we_o come_v a_o little_a to_o survey_v the_o love_n of_o our_o neighbour_n as_o a_o glimpse_n of_o that_o bright_a son_n and_o a_o little_a brook_n of_o that_o ocean_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n therefore_o as_o concern_v the_o thing_n which_o be_v to_o be_v speak_v of_o this_o love_n of_o our_o neighbour_n there_o be_v 〈◊〉_d rule_n to_o be_v observe_v which_o may_v be_v apply_v to_o every_o work_n namely_o that_o whosoever_o desire_v ever_o to_o please_v god_n must_v observe_v two_o thing_n 1_o what_o he_o will_v have_v we_o do_v 2_o how_o he_o will_v have_v we_o do_v it_o for_o he_o shall_v do_v very_o little_a that_o shall_v do_v what_o god_n will_v have_v he_o do_v except_o withal_o he_o shall_v do_v not_o this_o in_o such_o manner_n as_o he_o will_v have_v we_o as_o in_o the_o former_a tract_n be_v deliver_v it_o will_v not_o be_v acceptable_a to_o he_o nor_o worth_a the_o do_n there_o be_v another_o work_n like_o unto_o this_o which_o god_n will_v have_v we_o to_o do_v that_o be_v to_o love_v our_o neighbour_n but_o yet_o albeit_o god_n will_v have_v we_o to_o do_v it_o except_o we_o love_v he_o in_o that_o manner_n as_o god_n will_v have_v it_o do_v we_o shall_v not_o attain_v those_o sublime_a and_o heavenly_a reward_n which_o god_n have_v prepare_v for_o those_o that_o love_v for_o we_o that_o he_o may_v give_v unto_o we_o grace_n and_o glory_n and_o in_o this_o manner_n of_o love_v be_v he_o most_o of_o all_o give_v to_o love_n &_o the_o great_a enemy_n that_o can_v be_v of_o all_o vain_a love_n wherewith_o lover_n do_v love_v one_o another_o and_o whereof_o they_o make_v outward_a show_n which_o kind_n of_o love_n be_v very_o slippery_a &_o deceitful_a and_o we_o make_v the_o vanity_n of_o it_o appear_v by_o a_o familiar_a example_n thou_o have_v a_o friend_n happy_o who_o have_v a_o servant_n the_o love_n of_o this_o servant_n of_o thy_o friend_n do_v so_o captivate_v thy_o heart_n that_o it_o please_v thou_o much_o more_o to_o converse_v and_o talk_v with_o he_o then_o with_o thy_o friend_n if_o thou_o shall_v say_v that_o the_o love_n wherewith_o thou_o love_v this_o servant_n be_v for_o thy_o friend_n who_o will_v not_o laugh_v at_o it_o for_o although_o it_o may_v be_v that_o this_o love_n be_v begin_v in_o that_o he_o be_v thy_o friend_n servant_n yet_o that_o from_o whence_o this_o love_n so_o increase_v that_o thou_o delight_v more_o in_o his_o conversation_n then_o thy_o friend_n do_v show_v that_o now_o thou_o love_v he_o not_o thou_o shall_v say_v the_o love_n whereof_o we_o speak_v before_o be_v for_o god_n sake_n although_o happy_o it_o may_v have_v some_o part_n of_o spiritual_a love_n in_o
it_o but_o it_o suffice_v not_o he_o that_o be_v true_o addict_v unto_o god_n to_o give_v part_n unto_o god_n but_o the_o whole_a so_o that_o the_o whole_a affection_n must_v be_v employ_v in_o god_n or_o in_o that_o which_o be_v whole_o direct_v to_o he_o therefore_o whatsoever_o be_v vain_a in_o this_o love_n must_v be_v cast_v away_o see_v it_o be_v certain_a that_o nothing_o can_v be_v order_v and_o direct_v towards_o god_n which_o be_v more_o love_a in_o the_o creature_n then_o in_o god_n the_o creator_n our_o love_n towards_o all_o person_n ought_v to_o be_v carry_v with_o so_o great_a affection_n as_o can_v proceed_v from_o that_o affection_n which_o we_o have_v towards_o god_n all_o other_o affection_n be_v cast_v off_o that_o that_o affection_n may_v have_v place_n which_o we_o owe_v unto_o god_n and_o to_o the_o cast_v away_o of_o these_o thing_n it_o shall_v not_o profit_v a_o little_a to_o remember_v what_o we_o have_v speak_v before_o of_o vain_a joy_n together_o with_o the_o six_o instruction_n now_o therefore_o see_v in_o part_n we_o have_v speak_v what_o kind_n of_o love_n we_o ought_v to_o be_v and_o that_o we_o must_v cast_v away_o the_o love_n that_o be_v not_o such_o we_o will_v add_v a_o example_n to_o open_v this_o manner_n of_o love_a to_o which_o purpose_n we_o need_v but_o call_v to_o mind_n the_o example_n of_o that_o good_a son_n of_o who_o love_n towards_o his_o father_n we_o speak_v in_o the_o former_a chapter_n by_o who_o imitation_n we_o collect_v it_o be_v fit_a to_o love_v our_o heavenly_a father_n so_o now_o let_v we_o see_v in_o the_o imitation_n of_o he_o how_o we_o ought_v to_o love_v the_o servant_n of_o our_o father_n namely_o all_o that_o be_v in_o the_o world_n friend_n and_o enemy_n therefore_o we_o must_v add_v in_o that_o example_n that_o the_o father_n so_o belove_v of_o his_o son_n who_o yet_o expect_v no_o benefit_n from_o his_o father_n have_v a_o servant_n who_o he_o only_o love_v but_o yet_o want_v all_o kind_n of_o necessary_n as_o well_o for_o himself_o as_o for_o his_o servant_n save_v what_o his_o son_n do_v give_v unto_o he_o now_o this_o servant_n be_v odious_a and_o hateful_a to_o this_o son_n and_o in_o nothing_o profitable_a to_o he_o or_o to_o his_o mind_n and_o if_o the_o son_n shall_v only_o seek_v himself_o and_o his_o own_o benefit_n and_o pleasure_n he_o will_v cast_v off_o this_o servant_n yet_o unwilling_a to_o do_v any_o thing_n that_o may_v displease_v his_o father_n but_o rather_o seek_v by_o all_o mean_n to_o do_v the_o thing_n that_o may_v please_v his_o father_n induce_v thereunto_o by_o no_o other_o respect_n he_o maintain_v this_o serâ—ant_n in_o his_o house_n as_o one_o of_o his_o â—onnes_n or_o most_o dear_o belove_a servant_n and_o so_o speak_v unto_o he_o â—nd_n entreat_v he_o that_o if_o at_o any_o time_n he_o will_v seem_v to_o leave_v the_o house_n the_o son_n will_v be_v grieâ—â—ed_v and_o will_v entreat_v he_o to_o tarry_v fear_v lest_o his_o father_n shall_v be_v grieve_v for_o his_o absence_n such_o love_n must_v that_o be_v which_o we_o ought_v to_o carry_v towards_o our_o neighbour_n namely_o that_o consider_v they_o be_v so_o much_o belove_v of_o god_n that_o he_o give_v himself_o to_o death_n for_o they_o when_o as_o yet_o all_o of_o they_o be_v his_o enemy_n we_o also_o shall_v love_v they_o all_o so_o much_o help_v they_o in_o all_o that_o be_v good_a and_o necessary_a for_o they_o as_o well_o in_o body_n as_o in_o soul_n even_o so_o much_o i_o say_v as_o we_o be_v wont_v to_o love_v they_o who_o do_v much_o please_v and_o delight_v we_o and_o that_o also_o albeit_o their_o conversation_n be_v odious_a and_o grievous_a unto_o we_o &_o so_o to_o speak_v unto_o they_o and_o provide_v for_o they_o in_o all_o necessary_n even_o as_o for_o those_o who_o be_v much_o belove_v of_o that_o our_o father_n and_o lord_n who_o both_o will_v it_o shall_v be_v so_o and_o have_v also_o so_o command_v it_o to_o be_v do_v and_o all_o these_o thing_n we_o must_v do_v with_o as_o great_a and_o fervent_a a_o will_n as_o we_o be_v able_a because_o this_o be_v most_o acceptable_a unto_o god_n and_o he_o will_v have_v we_o do_v it_o and_o this_o he_o his_o infinite_a will_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o do_v of_o us._n let_v they_o who_o desire_v to_o serve_v god_n chief_o observe_v that_o whosoever_o do_v affect_v we_o with_o any_o injury_n give_v we_o great_a occasion_n to_o increase_v in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n for_o after_o this_o occasion_n of_o so_o great_a good_a which_o come_v unto_o we_o join_v with_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n who_o will_v have_v it_o so_o what_o excuse_n can_v we_o have_v if_o we_o do_v not_o with_o intimous_a and_o ardent_a bowel_n love_v then_o that_o load_n we_o with_o evil_n chief_o whilst_o we_o consider_v that_o god_n himself_o will_v happy_o afterward_o take_v from_o such_o our_o pierce_v cut_v we_o all_o excellent_a and_o high_a duty_n as_o it_o often_o befall_v many_o other_o sinner_n therefore_o the_o good_a servant_n of_o god_n he_o must_v never_o be_v account_v who_o rejoice_v not_o at_o the_o affliction_n and_o injury_n which_o be_v cast_v upon_o he_o for_o his_o lord_n if_o therefore_o he_o shall_v esteem_v himself_o happy_a when_o he_o be_v set_v upon_o with_o injury_n and_o adversity_n the_o only_a will_n of_o serve_v god_n make_v himself_o who_o observe_v these_o three_o rule_n 1_o that_o with_o all_o his_o strength_n he_o procure_v every_o thing_n whence_o he_o understand_v any_o good_a may_v come_v unto_o he_o 2_o that_o he_o shun_v every_o thing_n which_o may_v bring_v any_o harm_n damage_n or_o evil_n unto_o he_o 3_o that_o albeit_o many_o difficulty_n and_o rub_n to_o the_o attain_v of_o that_o which_o be_v good_a do_v offer_v themselves_o yet_o he_o shall_v not_o refuse_v to_o oppose_v himself_o against_o they_o of_o these_o three_o see_v we_o have_v often_o speak_v in_o this_o discourse_n we_o will_v only_o touch_v some_o few_o thing_n which_o be_v more_o necessary_a to_o be_v know_v that_o we_o may_v learn_v aright_o to_o love_v ourselves_o 1_o as_o concern_v the_o first_o of_o these_o we_o will_v observe_v that_o this_o cannon_n be_v every_o moment_n very_o necessary_a hereunto_o that_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v good_a may_v be_v make_v very_o good_a namely_o that_o in_o every_o thing_n i_o repeat_v it_o again_o in_o every_o thing_n speak_v general_o which_o we_o shall_v desire_v or_o obtain_v two_o point_n may_v be_v consider_v 1_o be_v the_o good_a which_o from_o this_o thing_n come_v unto_o we_o or_o may_v come_v unto_o us._n 2_o that_o it_o be_v acceptable_a unto_o god_n that_o this_o good_a thing_n shall_v come_v unto_o us._n therefore_o he_o that_o love_v himself_o and_o desire_v great_a good_a thing_n to_o himself_o must_v little_o esteem_v the_o good_a that_o may_v befall_v he_o from_o any_o thing_n he_o do_v or_o desire_v i_o say_v
he_o must_v little_o esteem_v that_o as_o it_o be_v his_o own_o good_a if_o it_o be_v compare_v to_o the_o second_o namely_o that_o it_o be_v the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o the_o fulsilling_a of_o his_o holy_a will_n flow_v from_o thence_o and_o to_o this_o point_n the_o second_o instruction_n serve_v well_o let_v we_o observe_v that_o every_o one_o whilst_o he_o love_v himself_o do_v great_o desire_v to_o better_o either_o his_o ornament_n or_o else_o all_o his_o household_n furniture_n and_o all_o thing_n else_o that_o he_o have_v if_o it_o be_v not_o such_o as_o he_o will_v have_v it_o and_o so_o must_v he_o do_v who_o spiritual_o love_v himself_o for_o our_o lord_n god_n have_v give_v we_o a_o precious_a ornament_n or_o pearl_n wherewith_o at_o all_o time_n to_o enrich_v ourselves_o this_o pearl_n we_o have_v but_o cover_v with_o brass_n or_o copper_n whilst_o we_o desire_v any_o thing_n to_o our_o own_o good_a or_o profit_n nor_o must_v we_o ever_o rest_v until_o by_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o the_o high_a there_o be_v such_o a_o change_n make_v that_o our_o appetite_n which_o be_v ever_o agitate_a and_o toss_v up_o and_o down_o in_o we_o wish_v our_o own_o profit_n may_v now_o only_o regard_v those_o thing_n wherewith_o god_n be_v delight_v chief_o that_o thing_n be_v such_o as_o that_o not_o only_a god_n will_v that_o we_o shall_v have_v it_o but_o also_o that_o we_o ourselves_o shall_v be_v more_o enrich_v with_o it_o for_o the_o more_o we_o do_v forget_v our_o own_o proper_a benefit_n that_o we_o may_v record_v it_o call_v to_o mind_v the_o shall_v rejoice_v to_o declare_v the_o wonderful_a thing_n of_o god_n to_o the_o whole_a world_n as_o in_o the_o psalm_n and_o every_o where_n in_o scripture_n be_v to_o be_v see_v and_o in_o all_o create_a thing_n of_o which_o and_n or_o every_o other_o thing_n which_o we_o shall_v relate_v speak_v or_o hear_v we_o must_v feel_v a_o new_a motion_n of_o joy_n such_o as_o worldly_a man_n do_v feel_v whilst_o they_o see_v themselves_o or_o those_o who_o they_o most_o love_n to_o be_v commend_v see_v then_o that_o they_o do_v vain_o rejoice_v at_o the_o commendation_n which_o be_v not_o due_a unto_o they_o it_o be_v very_o just_a that_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n shall_v mighty_o rejoice_v at_o his_o praise_n who_o heaven_n and_o earth_n suffice_v not_o sufficient_o to_o praise_v service_n without_o respect_n of_o other_o benefit_n or_o gift_n nor_o be_v it_o any_o other_o thing_n to_o give_v god_n thanks_n which_o thing_n many_o know_v not_o than_o a_o inward_a act_n of_o the_o soul_n whereby_o he_o who_o have_v receive_v the_o gift_n or_o benefit_n from_o he_o acknowledge_v that_o god_n be_v a_o infinite_a lord_n from_o who_o come_v cuery_n good_a thing_n rejoice_v at_o all_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o that_o by_o such_o gift_n he_o see_v himself_o more_o apt_a the_o more_o to_o love_n and_o serve_v he_o and_o by_o how_o much_o that_o which_o be_v say_v be_v enlarge_v see_v it_o be_v a_o thing_n of_o great_a moment_n we_o may_v observe_v that_o beside_o this_o recognition_n and_o joy_n speak_v of_o at_o the_o receipt_n of_o every_o benefit_n from_o god_n we_o ought_v to_o offer_v unto_o god_n all_o that_o we_o be_v in_o our_o own_o will_n annihilate_v ourselves_o whereby_o we_o may_v give_v ourselves_o whole_o in_o body_n and_o soul_n to_o his_o service_n produce_v then_o mosâ—_n great_a act_n wherewith_o for_o the_o great_a power_n &_o goodness_n of_o god_n we_o may_v rejoice_v from_o whence_o that_o benefit_n come_v for_o which_o we_o now_o give_v he_o thanks_n and_o that_o we_o may_v more_o clear_o understand_v that_o which_o i_o now_o speak_v of_o annihilate_v ourselves_o i_o will_v hereby_o signify_v that_o see_v we_o may_v ever_o increase_v in_o the_o diminution_n and_o despise_v of_o ourselves_o we_o ought_v as_o oft_o as_o we_o give_v thank_n unto_o god_n after_o a_o singular_a manner_n to_o disesteem_v of_o ourselves_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o benefit_n whereby_o we_o may_v the_o better_o give_v ourselves_o to_o his_o majesty_n therefore_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n must_v be_v very_o present_a to_o himself_o that_o as_o often_o as_o he_o give_v thanks_o to_o god_n for_o any_o benefit_n that_o motion_n of_o the_o mind_n &_o that_o will_v whereby_o he_o rejoice_v at_o the_o benefit_n receive_v do_v actual_o proceed_v as_o before_o be_v say_v that_o he_o may_v love_v god_n the_o more_o &_o serve_v he_o reject_v all_o consideration_n from_o this_o that_o hence_o it_o come_v unto_o he_o whereby_o he_o may_v of_o good_a from_o he_o that_o he_o know_v may_v come_v unto_o he_o thence_o so_o be_v make_v more_o strong_a in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n alone_o and_o more_o acceptable_a thanks_n may_v be_v render_v unto_o he_o and_o he_o must_v also_o have_v the_o eye_n of_o his_o soul_n open_a for_o sometime_o these_o thing_n will_v fall_v out_o not_o without_o some_o defect_n and_o we_o will_v think_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v right_o do_v but_o the_o groundwork_n of_o that_o which_o hitherto_o be_v speak_v be_v take_v from_o that_o which_o divine_n &_o prophet_n be_v wont_a to_o say_v that_o he_o who_o will_v be_v thankful_a must_v return_v to_o the_o benefactor_n a_o work_n of_o as_o great_a a_o value_n or_o great_a then_o that_o which_o be_v have_v receive_v see_v thou_o that_o all_o our_o good_a thing_n be_v receive_v from_o god_n whatsoever_o we_o can_v perform_v in_o his_o service_n be_v of_o little_a worth_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o least_o of_o his_o benefit_n therefore_o at_o the_o least_o we_o ought_v to_o give_v he_o thanks_n for_o they_o in_o this_o manner_n as_o we_o have_v speak_v and_o that_o with_o as_o much_o affection_n and_o endeavour_n as_o we_o be_v able_a by_o this_o very_a motion_n of_o our_o understanding_n and_o will_n and_o by_o all_o the_o foresay_a preparation_n of_o our_o annihilation_n we_o must_v every_o day_n give_v thanks_n for_o so_o great_a a_o benefit_n bestow_v on_o we_o namely_o that_o he_o that_o great_a majesty_n have_v receive_v to_o himself_o so_o great_a good_a as_o he_o have_v in_o the_o same_o manner_n must_v we_o give_v like_o daily_a thanks_n unto_o he_o for_o the_o benefit_n of_o his_o incarnation_n our_o redemption_n and_o the_o redemption_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n for_o the_o benefit_n confer_v upon_o all_o the_o company_n of_o that_o bless_a court_n of_o heaven_n and_o for_o all_o the_o benefit_n bestow_v upon_o his_o saint_n in_o earth_n but_o chief_o on_o those_o that_o do_v affect_v we_o with_o injury_n and_o
reioye_v at_o all_o these_o thing_n to_o give_v god_n singular_a thanks_n from_o who_o all_o good_a thing_n do_v proceed_v oh_o how_o true_o do_v he_o love_v himself_o who_o be_v ever_o employ_v in_o this_o give_n of_o thanks_n for_o assume_v as_o his_o own_o every_o good_a thing_n which_o be_v do_v to_o all_o other_o after_o a_o inestimable_a manner_n it_o cause_v his_o own_o proper_a good_a to_o increase_v yea_o it_o make_v the_o good_a of_o all_o other_o to_o be_v his_o own_o proper_a good_a and_o by_o so_o much_o more_o do_v his_o own_o good_a increase_n by_o how_o much_o he_o do_v more_o rejoice_v in_o the_o only_a love_n of_o god_n and_o give_v he_o thanks_n for_o all_o without_o all_o respect_n of_o such_o increase_n in_o these_o last_o word_n consist_v the_o sum_n of_o that_o which_o be_v require_v to_o make_v thanks_n acceptable_a to_o god_n and_o that_o we_o assuredâ—_n so_o do_v it_o be_v expedient_a that_o we_o be_v much_o accustom_v to_o do_v all_o that_o we_o do_v because_o god_n will_v have_v we_o so_o do_v as_o be_v express_v in_o the_o second_o instruction_n 2_o touch_v the_o second_o thing_n namely_o that_o he_o who_o love_v himself_o shall_v show_v and_o avoid_v all_o that_o be_v evil_a and_o damageable_a unto_o he_o i_o need_v say_v no_o more_o but_o god_n forbid_v that_o he_o who_o right_o love_v himself_o shall_v think_v that_o any_o thing_n can_v do_v he_o harm_v and_o damage_n save_o sin_n and_o the_o occasion_n thereof_o all_o which_o be_v to_o be_v avoid_v of_o he_o that_o love_v himself_o for_o every_o sin_n murder_v the_o soul_n 3_o the_o last_o cannon_n and_o rule_n to_o be_v observe_v in_o love_a ourselves_o be_v that_o he_o oppose_v himself_o to_o all_o kind_n of_o labour_n and_o difficulty_n for_o the_o obtain_v hereof_o and_o that_o be_v that_o he_o altogether_o exercise_v himself_o in_o all_o the_o foresay_a thing_n but_o chief_o in_o the_o hatred_n of_o himself_o in_o patience_n and_o in_o govern_v and_o subdue_a the_o four_a grand_a passion_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o all_o other_o passion_n as_o be_v former_o discourse_v yet_o beside_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v there_o handle_v it_o be_v not_o unnecessary_a in_o this_o place_n to_o join_v in_o manner_n of_o a_o example_n a_o thing_n which_o be_v somewhat_o grievous_a which_o although_o it_o often_o offer_v itself_o yet_o be_v it_o very_o necessary_a for_o the_o obtain_n of_o this_o true_a love_n it_o fall_v out_o daily_o that_o we_o do_v or_o say_v somewhat_o whence_o we_o may_v seem_v to_o be_v confound_v and_o ashamed_a and_o that_o those_o who_o hear_v or_o see_v we_o do_v contemn_v we_o for_o it_o whether_o it_o fall_v out_o by_o any_o natural_a defect_n as_o suppose_v that_o we_o have_v not_o well_o compose_v our_o sermon_n or_o that_o we_o have_v not_o so_o apt_o speak_v or_o so_o cunning_o sing_v or_o some_o such_o other_o thing_n or_o whether_o it_o fall_v out_o upon_o some_o of_o our_o unbrideled_a motion_n as_o intemperancy_v in_o the_o gesture_n of_o the_o countenance_n or_o in_o angry_a word_n or_o the_o like_a he_o that_o love_v himself_o must_v in_o every_o one_o of_o such_o contingent_n and_o chance_n consider_v two_o point_n 1_o the_o confusion_n and_o shame_n itself_o which_o in_o case_n be_v this_o offer_v to_o he_o 2_o the_o evil_a example_n of_o judge_v ill_o of_o he_o or_o of_o imitate_v the_o same_o which_o other_o happy_o will_v draw_v from_o thence_o 1_o for_o the_o first_o namely_o confusion_n in_o such_o case_n there_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v a_o common_a refuge_n whereby_o they_o comfort_n &_o animate_v themselves_o consider_v that_o other_o happy_o do_v not_o so_o much_o observe_v that_o word_n or_o deed_n of_o they_o as_o he_o that_o do_v or_o say_v it_o do_v think_v or_o if_o they_o do_v so_o observe_v it_o yet_o that_o themselves_o as_o well_o as_o other_o have_v fall_v often_o into_o such_o like_a defect_n or_o else_o that_o now_o they_o have_v forget_v it_o thus_o do_v they_o who_o cold_o love_v themselves_o but_o those_o who_o sound_o love_v themselves_o do_v quite_o contrary_a namely_o embrace_v that_o confusion_n with_o great_a love_n consider_v that_o other_o will_v despise_v they_o according_a to_o the_o common_a custom_n of_o the_o world_n and_o will_v think_v they_o to_o be_v man_n of_o small_a virtue_n and_o worth_n and_o profitable_a for_o nothing_o all_o which_o do_v make_v up_o a_o vehement_a act_n of_o patience_n and_o humility_n whereof_o as_o be_v before_o say_v few_o man_n suffice_v to_o produce_v excellent_a habit_n albeit_o we_o which_o yet_o be_v true_a will_v not_o say_v that_o in_o every_o of_o such_o act_n which_o be_v refer_v unto_o god_n there_o be_v great_a service_n do_v unto_o he_o and_o if_o we_o be_v attentive_a there_o be_v daily_o a_o occasion_n offer_v unto_o we_o either_o of_o operation_n or_o cogitation_n whereby_o we_o may_v do_v these_o thing_n all_o which_o thing_n they_o do_v loose_v that_o without_o method_n and_o negligent_o lead_v their_o life_n albeit_o they_o think_v themselves_o devout_a but_o how_o much_o he_o who_o true_o love_v himself_o ought_v to_o esteem_v every_o of_o these_o act_n the_o servant_n of_o god_n will_v very_o well_o observe_v turn_v himself_o as_o well_o to_o this_o place_n as_o to_o the_o thing_n before_o discourse_v in_o which_o there_o be_v mention_v make_v of_o these_o act_n of_o the_o will_n 2_o the_o other_o rule_n which_o i_o set_v down_o to_o be_v consider_v in_o such_o case_n as_o breed_v confusion_n and_o shame_n be_v the_o ill_a example_n that_o other_o may_v draw_v from_o thence_o and_o as_o to_o the_o consideration_n of_o this_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n must_v present_o produce_v the_o act_n of_o grief_n for_o that_o happy_o he_o have_v be_v the_o occasion_n of_o evil_a or_o of_o the_o less_o or_o worse_o serve_v of_o god_n then_o be_v fit_a and_o he_o that_o shall_v so_o know_v to_o love_v himself_o shall_v make_v benefit_n both_o of_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o therefore_o he_o that_o shall_v have_v all_o these_o thing_n i_o say_v that_o he_o love_v himself_o for_o refer_v all_o his_o love_n towards_o god_n and_o draw_v it_o from_o himself_o and_o from_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o it_o may_v be_v more_o capable_a of_o god_n love_n he_o shall_v both_o live_v in_o this_o life_n more_o comfortable_o and_o in_o heaven_n shall_v have_v the_o great_a glory_n albeit_o he_o must_v not_o do_v this_o for_o any_o other_o respect_n but_o for_o the_o lord_n alone_o who_o we_o more_o be_v then_o our_o own_o and_o to_o who_o we_o be_v more_o debtor_n then_o to_o ourselves_o and_o also_o who_o have_v more_o care_n for_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v fit_a for_o we_o than_o we_o have_v for_o ourselves_o and_o who_o have_v more_o labour_v and_o sweat_v that_o he_o may_v give_v we_o life_n than_o we_o have_v do_v that_o we_o may_v have_v it_o thus_o conclude_v this_o first_o part_n of_o the_o three_o general_a requisition_n in_o serve_v of_o god_n i_o will_v shut_v it_o up_o thu_o namely_o that_o happy_a be_v the_o man_n who_o do_v all_o that_o ever_o he_o do_v only_o for_o god_n and_o happy_a again_o be_v it_o into_o the_o break_a bag_n of_o the_o heart_n which_o be_v rend_v and_o tear_v with_o vain_a and_o wicked_a cogitation_n and_o desire_n if_o therefore_o thou_o will_v come_v to_o this_o heavenly_a banquet_n worthy_o and_o receive_v the_o comfortable_a fruit_n of_o the_o lord_n passion_n labour_v to_o bring_v with_o the_o holy_a life_n fit_a for_o such_o a_o place_n and_o purpose_n omit_v this_o and_o betake_v himself_o to_o the_o service_n of_o the_o creature_n &_o vanity_n of_o the_o world_n which_o do_v sudden_o vanish_v and_o bring_v much_o harm_n with_o they_o as_o if_o all_o be_v to_o be_v blame_v who_o serve_v not_o god_n in_o this_o exact_a manner_n how_o much_o more_o be_v they_o suable_a to_o a_o severe_a penalty_n who_o have_v dedicate_v themselves_o by_o a_o special_a function_n to_o his_o service_n as_o be_v in_o some_o sort_n his_o familiar_n in_o house_n and_o table_n how_o exact_o ought_v they_o to_o follow_v the_o step_n of_o he_o that_o have_v call_v they_o 19_o math._n 19_o say_v follow_v i_o which_o be_v speak_v to_o all_o sort_n of_o man_n we_o can_v but_o gather_v thus_o much_o of_o every_o man_n duty_n out_o of_o it_o that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o we_o do_v the_o thing_n we_o do_v with_o love_n but_o of_o love_n and_o for_o love_n for_o these_o be_v the_o footstep_n which_o he_o command_v we_o to_o follow_v so_o we_o must_v not_o fulfil_v something_o of_o that_o be_v write_v but_o the_o whole_a nor_o be_v it_o sufficient_a in_o his_o service_n that_o we_o do_v our_o duty_n with_o love_n or_o love_n accompany_v it_o but_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o do_v it_o of_o love_n and_o for_o love_n we_o see_v the_o servant_n serve_v his_o master_n with_o love_n who_o love_v his_o lord_n and_o master_n but_o yet_o do_v it_o not_o for_o love_n see_v he_o will_v not_o serve_v he_o except_o he_o expect_v a_o reward_n from_o he_o but_o he_o shall_v indeed_o serve_v he_o with_o love_n and_o for_o love_n if_o he_o serve_v he_o only_o for_o this_o that_o his_o lord_n desire_v it_o and_o hold_v his_o service_n grateful_a and_o because_o he_o love_v the_o goodness_n and_o society_n of_o his_o lord_n without_o any_o other_o respect_n and_o such_o obedience_n it_o be_v that_o we_o learn_v of_o our_o master_n christ_n say_v follow_v i_o which_o signify_v that_o we_o must_v do_v whatsoever_o we_o be_v command_v to_o do_v with_o love_n and_o for_o love_n for_o to_o follow_v christ_n be_v to_o do_v that_o which_o he_o do_v for_o our_o instruction_n and_o in_o the_o same_o manner_n that_o he_o do_v it_o but_o undoubted_o he_o do_v all_o thing_n with_o love_n and_o for_o love_n see_v that_o be_v the_o most_o sublime_a manner_n of_o work_v therefore_o so_o must_v we_o do_v albeit_o we_o can_v do_v it_o with_o such_o perfection_n as_o he_o do_v therefore_o we_o must_v not_o think_v that_o god_n command_v we_o to_o follow_v he_o in_o do_v only_o and_o not_o in_o the_o manner_n of_o do_v too_o see_v it_o be_v to_o no_o purpose_n to_o do_v if_o the_o manner_n of_o do_v aright_o be_v absent_a namely_o to_o do_v with_o love_n and_o for_o love_n for_o we_o can_v suspect_v that_o so_o excellent_a magnificent_a and_o liberal_a a_o lord_n as_o this_o will_v teach_v we_o a_o doctrine_n of_o small_a use_n and_o profit_n but_o of_o singular_a moment_n so_o that_o we_o observe_v therein_o as_o well_o the_o manner_n as_o matter_n 4_o instruction_n that_o the_o cruel_a slaughter_n which_o sin_n have_v make_v in_o man_n soul_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o such_o
great_a difficulty_n in_o serve_v god_n after_o this_o sublime_a and_o heavenly_a manner_n for_o this_o purpose_n those_o that_o will_v serve_v god_n aright_o must_v consider_v their_o own_o disposition_n that_o they_o may_v be_v able_a aright_o to_o meet_v with_o their_o own_o defect_n therefore_o they_o must_v know_v that_o the_o evil_a whereby_o they_o be_v draw_v from_o serve_v god_n after_o this_o most_o divine_a manner_n proceed_v from_o sin_n which_o have_v weaken_v the_o soul_n and_o subdue_v it_o to_o itself_o for_o if_o sin_n have_v not_o interpose_v itself_o we_o shall_v have_v do_v every_o good_a thing_n with_o much_o facility_n but_o sin_n once_o arryve_v in_o the_o soul_n all_o our_o desire_n will_n and_o appetite_n be_v become_v so_o dissolute_a disorder_a and_o rebellious_a by_o that_o grievous_a special_a disease_n arise_v from_o sin_n that_o now_o loathe_v that_o which_o be_v good_a we_o scarce_o love_v affect_v or_o desire_v any_o thing_n save_o the_o most_o abject_a worth_a less_o and_o vicious_a thing_n forget_v that_o infinite_a good_a unto_o which_o we_o be_v create_v as_o the_o thing_n wherein_o we_o have_v neither_o relish_n nor_o savour_n and_o hence_o proceed_v the_o confusion_n and_o perturbation_n of_o the_o soul_n which_o we_o feel_v in_o ourselves_o so_o much_o distract_v from_o the_o true_a god_n whereunto_o we_o be_v create_v that_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v absolute_o and_o only_o good_a be_v cast_v off_o we_o incline_v ever_o and_o greedy_o follow_v that_o which_o be_v evil_a yet_o must_v we_o know_v that_o howsoever_o this_o sin_n have_v make_v such_o a_o slaughter_n of_o grace_n in_o the_o soul_n that_o there_o be_v not_o one_o friend_n leave_v to_o take_v arm_n against_o it_o yet_o do_v not_o our_o obligation_n cease_v from_o bind_v we_o to_o do_v what_o be_v our_o duty_n and_o for_o which_o we_o come_v into_o this_o world_n for_o albeit_o this_o great_a infirmity_n do_v so_o enfeeble_v we_o that_o we_o do_v all_o good_a thing_n with_o great_a difficulty_n yet_o do_v it_o not_o make_v we_o altogether_o so_o impotent_a but_o that_o we_o be_v capable_a of_o grace_n and_o divine_a favour_n whereby_o to_o repair_v this_o our_o former_a overthrow_n and_o destruction_n beside_o we_o must_v observe_v that_o by_o so_o much_o more_o do_v we_o grow_v to_o a_o admirable_a disposition_n of_o serve_v god_n aright_o which_o disposition_n have_v ever_o remain_v in_o the_o soul_n unto_o all_o good_a thing_n if_o sin_n have_v not_o disease_v it_o by_o how_o much_o more_o we_o shall_v have_v our_o appetite_n and_o desire_n repair_v and_o dispose_v which_o by_o sin_n be_v former_o indispose_v and_o he_o shall_v have_v they_o repair_v who_o with_o a_o attentive_a care_n and_o profound_a consideration_n of_o the_o thing_n we_o speak_v of_o shall_v direct_v they_o all_o to_o the_o lord_n with_o a_o repugnancy_n to_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v without_o the_o will_n of_o this_o lord_n and_o a_o follow_v of_o all_o such_o remedy_n as_o be_v here_o describe_v and_o in_o that_o degree_n wherein_o any_o shall_v obtain_v this_o in_o the_o same_o shall_v he_o be_v advance_v here_o in_o sanctity_n and_o afterward_o in_o glory_n and_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n but_o herein_o one_o may_v so_o profit_v by_o assiduity_n and_o diligence_n as_o that_o he_o may_v do_v all_o thing_n with_o great_a faclity_n and_o delight_n to_o which_o he_o shall_v be_v the_o more_o easy_o advance_v if_o he_o often_o and_o attentive_o read_v these_o instruction_n 5_o instruction_n that_o we_o have_v in_o our_o body_n and_o soul_n sufficient_a mean_n for_o the_o reparation_n of_o this_o decay_n and_o ruin_n if_o they_o be_v stir_v up_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n as_o we_o have_v both_o body_n and_o soul_n so_o we_o have_v in_o both_o of_o they_o instrument_n wherewith_o to_o work_v for_o as_o the_o body_n have_v foot_n to_o walk_v hand_n to_o work_n mouth_n to_o speak_v and_o the_o like_a so_o the_o soul_n have_v the_o understanding_n wherewith_o to_o know_v the_o will_n wherewith_o to_o desire_v and_o diverse_a other_o faculty_n of_o the_o appetite_n but_o it_o must_v be_v observe_v that_o the_o more_o excellent_a the_o worker_n be_v together_o with_o the_o instrument_n so_o much_o more_o worthy_a be_v the_o work_n so_o that_o all_o thing_n concur_v to_o the_o act_n be_v suitable_a corporal_a action_n have_v so_o much_o more_o excellency_n in_o they_o by_o how_o much_o the_o instrument_n of_o the_o soul_n concur_v to_o the_o act_n be_v more_o excellent_a now_o that_o be_v call_v a_o singular_a instrument_n which_o to_o the_o production_n of_o the_o act_n be_v move_v by_o a_o good_a end_n therefore_o the_o most_o excellent_a instrument_n be_v the_o understanding_n and_o the_o will_n which_o can_v be_v move_v of_o god_n alone_o as_o we_o have_v say_v in_o the_o second_o instruction_n therefore_o of_o small_a worth_n be_v corporal_a thing_n which_o do_v not_o so_o proceed_v and_o this_o be_v it_o that_o saint_n paul_n say_v 4._o 1._o tim._n 4._o bodily_a labour_n profit_v little_a but_o the_o action_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v of_o another_o kind_n namely_o because_o of_o themselves_o they_o may_v be_v of_o great_a profit_n as_o if_o one_o exercise_v his_o understanding_n shall_v consider_v how_o base_a and_o abject_a the_o honour_n of_o this_o world_n be_v and_o of_o what_o value_n those_o thing_n which_o god_n command_v be_v and_o how_o unspeakable_a that_o glory_n be_v to_o which_o we_o aspire_v also_o to_o know_v how_o one_o may_v moderate_v his_o passion_n and_o the_o like_a again_o if_o one_o exercise_v himself_o in_o his_o will_n love_v that_o which_o he_o know_v be_v good_a and_o refuse_v that_o be_v evil_a such_o refusal_n of_o the_o soul_n shall_v be_v very_o profitable_a albeit_o the_o body_n be_v very_o idle_a for_o by_o such_o exercise_n will_v be_v produce_v excellent_a habit_n and_o the_o evil_a habit_n destroy_v which_o thing_n of_o itself_o be_v very_o laudable_a albeit_o do_v for_o the_o only_a love_n of_o virtue_n as_o philosopher_n do_v yet_o much_o more_o be_v in_o a_o christian_n who_o have_v faith_n but_o most_o of_o all_o if_o in_o every_o work_n we_o join_v faith_n with_o our_o intention_n actual_o direct_v unto_o god_n hence_o may_v it_o be_v observe_v how_o much_o every_o one_o ought_v to_o be_v exercise_v in_o the_o action_n of_o the_o soul_n which_o thing_n he_o may_v do_v whether_o he_o be_v employ_v in_o body_n or_o no_o in_o every_o time_n and_o place_n so_o that_o speak_v with_o another_o in_o any_o temporal_a affair_n yet_o may_v he_o in_o soul_n work_v by_o love_a god_n recal_v to_o mind_n some_o of_o his_o work_n this_o may_v seem_v difficult_a to_o he_o that_o have_v not_o attain_v the_o habit_n thereof_o yet_o custom_n will_v make_v it_o easy_a as_o we_o must_v remember_v that_o virtue_n be_v practise_v about_o difficult_a thing_n therefore_o violence_n be_v to_o be_v use_v to_o the_o will_n that_o thou_o may_v become_v a_o industrious_a workman_n to_o do_v singular_a thing_n with_o facility_n which_o if_o thou_o do_v not_o attempt_v no_o marvel_n be_v it_o that_o thou_o can_v not_o be_v more_o devout_a towards_o god_n see_v he_o be_v ever_o ready_a to_o assist_v thy_o desire_n unto_o that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o to_o withstand_v thy_o proneness_n to_o evil_a so_o that_o thou_o do_v right_o use_v the_o mean_n and_o be_v sure_a that_o if_o thou_o desire_v on_o earth_n to_o be_v a_o great_a and_o excellent_a friend_n and_o servant_n of_o god_n thou_o shall_v the_o soon_o attain_v unto_o it_o by_o how_o much_o thou_o do_v daily_o more_o and_o more_o use_v these_o instrument_n of_o the_o soul_n thy_o understanding_n and_o will_n at_o all_o time_n and_o place_n and_o this_o be_v it_o which_o advance_v the_o saint_n of_o god_n to_o so_o much_o glory_n in_o heaven_n the_o neglect_n whereof_o be_v so_o unblamable_a on_o earth_n see_v then_o our_o high_a glory_n consist_v herein_o for_o the_o most_o part_n that_o we_o work_v by_o these_o instrument_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o our_o ruin_n in_o the_o neglect_n of_o this_o exercise_n let_v we_o see_v what_o course_n we_o must_v take_v who_o have_v as_o yet_o be_v even_o liveless_a to_o use_v these_o instrument_n of_o the_o foul_a and_o that_o we_o may_v begin_v with_o the_o understanding_n leave_v the_o will_n to_o the_o next_o instruction_n we_o will_v premise_v this_o theological_a and_o philosophical_a fundamental_a rule_n that_o our_o natural_a appetite_n do_v natural_o desire_v that_o to_o which_o it_o be_v incline_v &_o seem_v pleasant_a to_o it_o not_o stand_v need_n of_o any_o thing_n to_o help_v or_o invite_v unto_o it_o but_o rather_o necessary_o &_o as_o it_o be_v coact_o desire_v it_o but_o so_o do_v not_o the_o will_v work_v burr_n first_o
