report_n so_o i_o wish_v they_o false_a if_o they_o be_v true_a i_o desire_v to_o have_v they_o punish_v with_o severity_n &_o then_o shall_v you_o show_v yourselves_o religious_a &_o zealous_a our_o day_n and_o time_n be_v grievous_o sick_a withal_o there_o be_v none_o wherewith_o they_o be_v either_o more_o general_o or_o more_o dangerous_o infect_v than_o with_o this_o that_o the_o most_o part_n of_o schoolmaster_n like_v as_o father_n and_o householders_n think_v it_o no_o part_n of_o their_o duty_n to_o meddle_v with_o instruct_v their_o scholar_n and_o pupil_n in_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n &_o principle_n of_o christian_n religion_n whereas_o without_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n there_o be_v no_o wisdom_n neither_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o youth_n to_o go_v well_o forward_o in_o virtue_n and_o good_a manner_n thing_n as_o necessary_a as_o learning_n which_o without_o these_o be_v but_o a_o ring_n of_o gold_n in_o a_o swine_n snout_n if_o they_o be_v not_o train_v up_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o word_n for_o most_o true_a be_v that_o in_o deed_n golden_a say_n of_o the_o psalmist_n wherewithal_o shall_v a_o young_a man_n redress_v his_o way_n in_o take_v heed_n thereto_o according_a to_o thy_o word_n harken_v harken_v all_o you_o that_o be_v schoolmaster_n there_o be_v no_o other_o mean_n to_o have_v your_o youth_n to_o profit_v in_o virtue_n and_o godliness_n but_o by_o take_v heed_n to_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o what_o parent_n be_v he_o that_o set_v his_o son_n to_o school_n but_o that_o he_o will_v have_v he_o as_o any_o that_o have_v other_o end_n in_o put_v their_o child_n to_o school_n these_o be_v contemn_v your_o school_n be_v better_a to_o be_v without_o they_o than_o cumber_v with_o they_o from_o whence_o come_v the_o general_a complaint_n of_o the_o ungraciousness_n and_o unhappiness_n of_o scholar_n but_o from_o this_o that_o you_o never_o teach_v they_o their_o duty_n out_o of_o the_o book_n of_o the_o lord_n some_o of_o you_o think_v over_o much_o gentleness_n to_o be_v the_o way_n and_o other_o continual_a and_o tyrannical_a scourge_n and_o whip_a to_o be_v the_o way_n whereas_o in_o deed_n you_o be_v both_o sort_n far_o and_o wide_o out_o of_o the_o way_n for_o the_o one_o with_o too_o much_o levity_n encourage_v they_o to_o a_o lewd_a licentiousness_n and_o looseness_n of_o manner_n the_o other_o think_v by_o cruel_a and_o butcherly_a beating_n to_o win_v reformation_n engender_v in_o they_o such_o a_o mislike_n and_o lothe_a of_o learning_n that_o they_o abhor_v with_o as_o deadly_a hatred_n the_o school_n house_n as_o we_o do_v those_o thing_n which_o be_v most_o loathsome_a and_o noisome_a unto_o we_o i_o like_v well_o of_o gentleness_n if_o it_o be_v such_o as_o by_o it_o manner_n be_v not_o corrupt_v &_o spill_v and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n i_o allow_v of_o reasonable_a correction_n so_o as_o it_o be_v use_v as_o the_o last_o remedy_n that_o be_v when_o no_o other_o will_v serve_v but_o the_o first_o the_o best_a and_o the_o chief_a way_n be_v to_o begin_v with_o teach_v your_o youth_n the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o that_o be_v as_o solomon_n say_v the_o beginning_n of_o wisdom_n but_o you_o fear_v peradventure_o that_o it_o shall_v be_v to_o little_a profit_n to_o speak_v unto_o child_n of_o religion_n i_o hear_v you_o and_o think_v of_o that_o who_o common_o be_v so_o liberal_a or_o rather_o in_o very_a deed_n prodigal_a and_o lavish_a as_o be_v hypocrite_n that_o in_o give_v greedy_o hawk_v and_o hunt_v after_o the_o praise_n &_o commendation_n of_o man_n and_o therefore_o as_o christ_n say_v blow_v a_o trumpet_n before_o their_o alm_n but_o they_o have_v their_o reward_n neither_o shall_v the_o great_a sum_n that_o they_o distribute_v and_o bestow_v ever_o come_v into_o this_o reckon_n before_o the_o lord_n that_o he_o will_v accept_v and_o take_v it_o for_o alm_n that_o be_v for_o such_o a_o work_n as_o do_v please_v he_o because_o it_o be_v not_o do_v in_o such_o sort_n as_o he_o command_v that_o therefore_o which_o we_o give_v shall_v then_o go_v before_o the_o lord_n for_o alm_n if_o it_o be_v as_o the_o holy_a it_o be_v wonderful_a to_o consider_v the_o craft_n and_o subtlety_n of_o our_o common_a adversary_n the_o devil_n who_o like_o the_o cunning_a cook_n that_o for_o his_o gain_n prepare_v sundry_a sweet_a and_o pleasant_a dish_n to_o procure_v appetite_n when_o as_o the_o stomach_n as_o it_o be_v gorge_v already_o invent_v many_o kind_n of_o vain_a exercise_n for_o that_o day_n to_o pull_v they_o from_o hear_v of_o the_o word_n lest_o by_o it_o they_o may_v be_v win_v from_o his_o kingdom_n to_o the_o service_n of_o the_o lord_n &_o so_o be_v bring_v into_o a_o hatred_n of_o such_o kind_n of_o lewdness_n and_o like_v as_o heretofore_o in_o this_o land_n he_o use_v persecution_n to_o keep_v we_o in_o idolatry_n so_o now_o when_o as_o the_o lord_n in_o mercy_n have_v send_v we_o the_o gospel_n with_o peace_n &_o quiet_a he_o use_v pleasure_n &_o prosperity_n to_o draw_v man_n unto_o vanity_n how_o this_o way_n he_o prevail_v both_o in_o country_n &_o city_n our_o present_a time_n afford_v too_o plentiful_a example_n and_o the_o time_n to_o come_v in_o a_o other_o world_n will_v yield_v unto_o the_o frequenter_n of_o such_o kindness_n plentiful_a punishment_n there_o
