good_a blessing_n and_o benefit_n of_o god_n together_o with_o his_o holy_a people_n as_o follow_v verse_n 4._o yea_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v great_a thing_n for_o we_o already_o whereof_o we_o of_o the_o gospel_n namely_o because_o they_o be_v the_o people_n of_o joy_n and_o gladness_n as_o these_o word_n declare_v therefore_o we_o rejoice_v consider_v now_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o pope_n and_o the_o horrible_a abomination_n thereof_o in_o the_o which_o there_o be_v nothing_o hear_v see_v teach_v read_v or_o exercise_v but_o man_n tradition_n man_n dream_n which_o of_o their_o own_o nature_n can_v do_v nothing_o else_o but_o discomfort_n and_o afflict_v the_o conscience_n for_o one_o tradition_n bring_v forth_o another_o one_o observation_n follow_v another_o and_o that_o worst_a of_o all_o be_v they_o be_v not_o only_a burden_n to_o the_o body_n but_o be_v now_o become_v snare_n to_o the_o conscience_n wherefore_o there_o be_v not_o one_o jot_n of_o this_o doctrine_n in_o the_o pope_n kingdom_n that_o minister_v any_o occasion_n of_o joy_n or_o gladness_n to_o the_o poor_a conscience_n great_a cause_n have_v we_o therefore_o to_o be_v thankful_a unto_o god_n for_o this_o inestimable_a benefit_n that_o we_o now_o know_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v the_o doctrine_n of_o consolation_n and_o salvation_n through_o the_o which_o doctrine_n look_v how_o much_o joy_n thou_o feel_v in_o thy_o heart_n so_o much_o thou_o do_v enjoy_v of_o life_n and_o salvation_n but_o if_o thou_o feel_v thy_o heart_n still_o oppress_v with_o heaviness_n the_o devil_n have_v not_o yet_o give_v over_o to_o vex_v thou_o wherefore_o thou_o must_v have_v thy_o heart_n well_o instruct_v in_o the_o true_a use_n of_o the_o law_n and_o of_o the_o gospel_n as_o we_o have_v say_v before_o that_o thou_o may_v know_v that_o the_o law_n ought_v to_o be_v use_v only_o against_o the_o obstinate_a and_o impenitent_a and_o that_o therein_o consist_v the_o true_a and_o unto_o we_o in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o to_o this_o effect_n we_o must_v beware_v of_o the_o subtle_a sleight_n of_o satan_n who_o to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o may_v spoil_v we_o of_o this_o comfort_n in_o trouble_n endeavour_n by_o all_o mean_n either_o to_o quench_v the_o light_n of_o god_n utter_o in_o our_o mind_n or_o at_o least_o to_o darken_v and_o obscure_v it_o by_o precipitation_n of_o our_o unbelieve_a heart_n therefore_o say_v david_n sure_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o fail_v his_o people_n nor_o forsake_v his_o inheritance_n again_o thy_o stand_n against_o so_o many_o assault_n of_o the_o devil_n prove_v that_o the_o least_o spark_n of_o christ_n lively_a grace_n in_o a_o christian_a be_v strong_a then_o that_o the_o gate_n of_o hell_n be_v able_a to_o prevail_v against_o it_o be_v therefore_o comfort_v o_o thou_o man_n of_o god_n for_o if_o it_o have_v be_v in_o satan_n power_n to_o have_v quench_v thy_o life_n he_o will_v have_v put_v it_o out_o long_o ere_o now_o be_v assure_v thou_o shall_v prevail_v and_o obtain_v the_o victory_n in_o the_o strength_n and_o might_n of_o that_o mighty_a lord_n the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n verse_n 5._o turn_v our_o spirit_n of_o grace_n the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n that_o be_v with_o the_o redemption_n which_o be_v wrought_v by_o christ_n the_o prayer_n of_o the_o faithful_a and_o of_o the_o redeem_a for_o although_o our_o redemption_n be_v full_o wrought_v and_o we_o redeem_v by_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n yet_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o we_o shall_v pray_v for_o this_o redemption_n as_o christ_n also_o in_o his_o prayer_n command_v we_o to_o do_v that_o god_n name_n may_v be_v sanctify_v 6._o mat._n 6._o which_o notwithstanding_o we_o know_v to_o be_v holy_a and_o sanctify_a inestimable_a gift_n of_o our_o redemption_n and_o life_n everlasting_a be_v easy_a to_o be_v utter_v with_o word_n but_o most_o hard_a to_o be_v believe_v with_o the_o heart_n for_o we_o have_v in_o this_o life_n not_o the_o ten_o 8.23_o rom._n 8.23_o but_o the_o first_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n but_o the_o flesh_n live_v full_o and_o whole_o in_o a_o manner_n strong_a and_o lusty_a true_a it_o be_v that_o we_o have_v enter_v one_o foot_n into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n and_o have_v thereby_o obtain_v the_o assurance_n of_o the_o promise_n 4.1_o thess_n 4.1_o but_o we_o must_v not_o there_o rest_n we_o must_v draw_v the_o other_o foot_n after_o that_o be_v we_o must_v continual_o increase_v and_o go_v forward_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o grace_n and_o of_o faith_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n the_o prophet_n zacharie_n say_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n be_v pour_v forth_o upon_o we_o which_o spirit_n require_v this_o increase_n in_o us._n and_o s._n paul_n say_v 8.22_o rom._n 8.22_o that_o the_o spirit_n sigh_v with_o sigh_n that_o can_v be_v express_v yea_o and_o that_o every_o creature_n also_o groan_v for_o the_o deliverance_n of_o the_o child_n of_o god_n wherefore_o while_o we_o be_v in_o this_o body_n which_o press_v we_o down_o as_o a_o heavy_a burden_n and_o hinder_v we_o that_o we_o can_v full_o apprehend_v these_o thing_n we_o have_v not_o only_o we_o believe_v and_o yet_o shall_v not_o cease_v to_o pray_v that_o god_n will_v make_v perfect_a in_o we_o that_o he_o have_v begin_v satan_n never_o cease_v to_o assail_v our_o faith_n hope_n and_o other_o virtue_n which_o god_n have_v plant_v in_o us._n prerogative_n satan_n prerogative_n and_o this_o prerogative_n have_v satan_n because_o the_o grace_n which_o be_v begin_v in_o we_o be_v not_o happen_v to_o david_n in_o his_o adultery_n 11._o 2._o sam._n 11._o wherein_o they_o have_v need_n of_o help_n to_o raise_v they_o up_o again_o as_o christ_n answer_v to_o paul_n my_o power_n be_v make_v perfect_a in_o infirmity_n the_o infirmity_n be_v they_o and_o remain_v they_o while_o they_o live_v but_o the_o power_n and_o strength_n be_v christ_n alone_a one_o dram_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o christian_a make_v he_o more_o precious_a in_o the_o eye_n of_o god_n than_o any_o remnant-corruption_n in_o he_o can_v make_v he_o odious_a therefore_o be_v it_o that_o the_o lord_n give_v unto_o they_o the_o name_n of_o his_o belove_a his_o servant_n his_o son_n his_o saint_n who_o be_v so_o only_o in_o part_n both_o these_o be_v true_a those_o that_o for_o their_o humiliation_n when_o they_o feel_v it_o they_o so_o abound_v in_o joy_n that_o all_o the_o terror_n and_o threaten_n of_o satan_n all_o his_o promise_n and_o allurement_n be_v despise_v that_o with_o spiritual_a medicine_n we_o may_v cure_v they_o chastise_v ourselves_o every_o morning_n and_o examine_v ourselves_o upon_o our_o bed_n in_o the_o evening_n god_n the_o first_o fruit_n
