lord_n day_n the_o sacrament_n the_o christian_n in_o the_o primitive_a time_n will_v receive_v it_o every_o day_n in_o the_o year_n and_o they_o keep_v their_o heart_n in_o readiness_n to_o such_o kind_n of_o duty_n let_v it_o be_v what_o work_n it_o will_v be_v you_o shall_v be_v patient_a in_o affliction_n if_o affliction_n come_v upon_o you_o and_o your_o heart_n be_v not_o in_o a_o readiness_n to_o alter_v your_o condition_n oh_o it_o will_v be_v a_o grievous_a burden_n to_o exercise_v patience_n it_o will_v be_v a_o hard_a thing_n for_o you_o now_o you_o shall_v keep_v your_o time_n and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o they_o trouble_v you_o when_o stranger_n come_v but_o keep_v they_o in_o a_o good_a order_n at_o all_o time_n and_o then_o you_o will_v have_v they_o right_o at_o those_o time_n so_o it_o be_v with_o the_o heart_n keep_v the_o heart_n prepare_v and_o ready_a to_o every_o good_a work_n and_o then_o every_o work_n will_v be_v easy_a object_n but_o you_o will_v say_v that_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o toil_n and_o labour_n to_o keep_v our_o heart_n always_o bend_v and_o ready_a to_o good_a work_n to_o that_o i_o answer_v at_o first_o it_o may_v be_v some_o labour_n and_o toil_n but_o those_o that_o have_v once_o get_v their_o heart_n into_o a_o readiness_n find_v it_o not_o so_o hard_a but_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n
the_o lesson_n that_o christ_n will_v have_v we_o indeed_o learn_v come_v if_o you_o will_v be_v my_o disciple_n you_o must_v deny_v yourself_o and_o take_v up_o my_o cross_n the_o word_n in_o the_o greek_a be_v more_o than_o deny_v yourselves_o you_o must_v thorough_o deny_v yourself_o deny_v yourself_o to_o purpose_n indeed_o if_o you_o will_v be_v the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n and_o indeed_o they_o that_o they_o will_v deny_v themselves_o 8._o a_o humble_a heart_n keep_v down_o itself_o that_o be_v he_o will_v be_v no_o high_o except_o he_o be_v worthy_a one_o that_o have_v a_o vain_a proud_a spirit_n still_o will_v fain_o be_v high_a and_o high_o and_o be_v not_o so_o solicitous_a to_o be_v worthy_a of_o a_o high_a place_n but_o one_o that_o be_v humble_a think_v thus_o i_o be_o that_o be_v without_o itself_o continual_o whereas_o a_o proud_a heart_n live_v altogether_o upon_o its_o own_o principle_n but_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o discover_v our_o humilty_n than_o this_o than_o to_o live_v upon_o nothing_o in_o ourselves_o but_o to_o go_v out_o to_o strength_n without_o ourselves_o 11_o this_o be_v the_o true_a behaviour_n of_o a_o humble_a spirit_n in_o respect_n learn_v in_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n to_o learn_v humility_n consequence_n 2._o second_o another_o consequence_n be_v this_o upon_o the_o consideration_n of_o these_o several_a working_n of_o humility_n in_o respect_n of_o ourselves_o we_o may_v see_v that_o the_o work_n of_o a_o christian_a be_v very_o much_o inward_a it_o be_v a_o work_n of_o reflection_n upon_o ourselves_o if_o there_o be_v nothing_o to_o do_v in_o a_o christian_n life_n but_o that_o that_o be_v external_a to_o perform_v some_o outward_a duty_n to_o come_v and_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o speak_v good_a thing_n and_o pray_v and_o make_v a_o outward_a profession_n the_o life_n of_o a_o christian_a be_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o easy_a but_o from_o this_o that_o you_o hear_v from_o the_o work_n of_o this_o one_o grace_n of_o humility_n you_o may_v see_v that_o the_o work_n of_o a_o christian_a lie_n much_o within_o door_n that_o christian_n shall_v be_v very_o busy_a within_o their_o heart_n there_o be_v many_o working_n within_o rather_o then_o without_o and_o therefore_o if_o you_o will_v profess_v yourselves_o to_o be_v christian_n and_o will_v indeed_o have_v the_o power_n of_o godliness_n in_o your_o heart_n you_o must_v work_v â—uch_o inward_o there_o must_v be_v much_o reflection_n upon_o your_o own_o heart_n consequence_n 3._o three_o and_o last_o another_o consequence_n be_v this_o by_o heart_n of_o a_o christian_a wheresoever_o grace_n be_v wrought_v jesus_n christ_n be_v very_o powerful_a and_o very_a strong_a in_o that_o heart_n certain_o these_o thing_n can_v never_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o poor_a wretched_a sinner_n yea_o in_o a_o heart_n that_o be_v natural_o very_o proud_a for_o so_o we_o be_v all_o and_o be_v not_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n very_o powerful_a in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o christian_a these_o thing_n can_v never_o be_v wherefore_o when_o you_o hear_v that_o these_o thing_n be_v in_o a_o heart_n work_v thus_o we_o may_v conclude_v sure_o the_o power_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v very_o mighty_a and_o very_o strong_a well_o thus_o you_o have_v the_o grace_n of_o humility_n present_v to_o you_o towards_o god_n and_o yourselves_o let_v we_o learn_v to_o be_v of_o lowly_a heart_n and_o be_v not_o at_o rest_n until_o you_o find_v these_o kind_n of_o working_n in_o your_o spirit_n chap._n cxxvi_o the_o first_o property_n of_o humility_n
