and_o well_o order_v prayer_n yea_o when_o we_o have_v rather_o sigh_v then_o speak_v for_o the_o lord_n in_o this_o case_n regard_v not_o so_o much_o the_o multitude_n of_o word_n as_o he_o look_v to_o the_o meaning_n of_o his_o spirit_n and_o grant_v that_o though_o we_o speak_v never_o a_o word_n for_o even_o as_o a_o father_n have_v a_o young_a infant_n sick_a of_o some_o sore_a disease_n though_o the_o child_n can_v speak_v never_o a_o word_n be_v ready_a to_o help_v it_o and_o if_o it_o can_v speak_v yet_o be_v full_a of_o pain_n can_v not_o call_v for_o thing_n as_o it_o ought_v yet_o if_o the_o mother_n can_v but_o by_o any_o sign_n guess_v at_o the_o meaning_n of_o it_o she_o will_v accept_v as_o much_o of_o it_o as_o if_o it_o have_v speak_v very_o plentiful_o yea_o though_o it_o shall_v say_v one_o thing_n and_o mean_v another_o she_o will_v give_v it_o according_a to_o the_o meaning_n of_o it_o so_o the_o lord_n that_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o bowel_n of_o compassion_n towards_o we_o in_o christ_n far_o above_o any_o father_n or_o mother_n though_o he_o delight_v to_o hear_v we_o pray_v unto_o he_o yet_o when_o as_o by_o the_o extremity_n of_o our_o misery_n we_o be_v oppress_v or_o distract_v so_o that_o we_o can_v not_o in_o any_o orderly_a manner_n pray_v unto_o he_o as_o we_o ought_v he_o allow_v of_o the_o sigh_n and_o sob_n that_o we_o thereby_o to_o perform_v better_a service_n unto_o he_o what_o can_v be_v more_o comfortable_a unto_o we_o then_o this_o in_o all_o our_o necessity_n let_v we_o then_o with_o great_a boldness_n go_v unto_o the_o lord_n by_o christ_n and_o though_o we_o can_v utter_v many_o word_n yet_o 〈◊〉_d we_o speak_v unto_o he_o for_o sure_o the_o acceptation_n of_o our_o prayer_n consist_v not_o in_o the_o multitude_n or_o well_o place_v of_o our_o word_n but_o in_o the_o request_n of_o our_o heart_n and_o therefore_o if_o we_o can_v pray_v but_o two_o word_n and_o say_v with_o the_o publican_n lord_n be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o a_o sinner_n with_o the_o apostle_n lord_n increase_v my_o faith_n or_o with_o the_o blind_a man_n o_o son_n of_o david_n have_v mercy_n upon_o i_o or_o with_o the_o thief_n whether_o it_o be_v simple_o unlawful_a for_o a_o man_n to_o desire_v any_o thing_n that_o he_o want_v and_o to_o wish_v that_o his_o estate_n be_v better_v or_o whether_o he_o must_v always_o remain_v in_o one_o estate_n i_o answer_v it_o be_v lawful_a for_o we_o to_o desire_v and_o pray_v for_o as_o many_o thing_n as_o we_o want_v and_o god_n have_v promise_v but_o in_o that_o manner_n compass_v it_o or_o make_v not_o the_o mean_n to_o prosper_v with_o i_o than_o i_o be_o assure_v it_o be_v not_o the_o will_n and_o pleasure_n of_o almighty_a god_n to_o bestow_v it_o upon_o i_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o the_o time_n this_o be_v not_o the_o place_n or_o mean_n whereby_o he_o will_v bestow_v it_o upon_o i_o here_o i_o must_v stay_v my_o desire_n but_o when_o i_o see_v the_o lord_n both_o to_o offer_v and_o bless_v the_o mean_n whereby_o i_o conclude_v it_o his_o will_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o or_o whilst_o i_o see_v it_o and_o so_o be_o in_o no_o doubt_n of_o it_o i_o they_o always_o bring_v with_o they_o the_o abuse_n of_o the_o thing_n we_o desire_v for_o as_o the_o people_n do_v inordinate_o desire_v any_o food_n save_o man_n so_o when_o they_o have_v it_o they_o glut_v themselves_o therewith_o as_o psal_n 78._o 29._o so_o they_o do_v eat_v &_o be_v fill_v for_o he_o give_v they_o their_o desire_n they_o be_v not_o turn_v from_o their_o lust_n but_o we_o to_o fall_v into_o the_o abuse_n of_o the_o thing_n therefore_o as_o we_o must_v always_o desire_v the_o thing_n here_o below_o but_o in_o that_o measure_n that_o we_o shall_v so_o we_o must_v pray_v unto_o god_n that_o together_o with_o they_o he_o will_v teach_v we_o the_o right_a use_n of_o they_o &_o we_o must_v not_o imagine_v that_o if_o we_o have_v they_o we_o shall_v be_v happy_a and_o bless_a but_o pray_v the_o lord_n that_o we_o may_v have_v they_o with_o his_o favour_n and_o blessing_n and_o that_o by_o abuse_v of_o they_o we_o never_o offend_v his_o majesty_n this_o we_o find_v to_o be_v true_a in_o all_o the_o commodity_n of_o this_o life_n by_o experience_n he_o that_o ambitious_o seek_v honour_n be_v proud_a when_o he_o have_v it_o and_o know_v not_o how_o to_o use_v it_o the_o covetous_a man_n as_o he_o care_v not_o how_o he_o come_v by_o his_o riches_n so_o he_o can_v tell_v how_o to_o spend_v they_o the_o voluptuous_a man_n as_o his_o desire_n be_v unsatiable_a so_o in_o his_o pleasure_n he_o observe_v no_o circumstance_n of_o time_n place_n person_n or_o end_n but_o only_o satisfi_v his_o lust_n therefore_o though_o to_o have_v these_o outward_a benefit_n be_v a_o singular_a blessing_n of_o god_n yet_o right_o to_o use_v they_o be_v a_o special_a grace_n proper_a to_o his_o child_n that_o ask_v it_o of_o he_o and_o the_o abuse_n of_o thing_n be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o careful_o to_o be_v look_v unto_o because_o the_o lord_n though_o he_o satisfy_v their_o unsasaiable_a desire_n to_o the_o full_a num._n 11._o 19_o 20._o yet_o for_o all_o that_o and_o for_o the_o abuse_n that_o follow_v upon_o it_o he_o send_v a_o most_o grievous_a plague_n among_o they_o v._o 33._o and_o in_o deed_n these_o two_o as_o they_o be_v most_o usual_o join_v together_o so_o the_o lord_n do_v many_o way_n punish_v they_o for_o as_o concern_v our_o inordinate_a desire_n even_o that_o be_v the_o thing_n many_o time_n that_o hinder_v we_o from_o obtain_v the_o desire_n for_o though_o in_o all_o heavenly_a thing_n the_o more_o earnest_o we_o desire_v they_o the_o soon_o we_o have_v they_o yet_o in_o earthly_a thing_n this_o only_o hinder_v we_o from_o they_o or_o at_o least_o wise_a cause_v they_o to_o be_v defer_v that_o we_o have_v they_o not_o so_o soon_o as_o otherwise_o we_o may_v whereby_o the_o lord_n correct_v our_o desire_n &_o teach_v we_o more_o earnest_o to_o desire_v heavenly_a thing_n or_o else_o if_o the_o lord_n do_v give_v we_o the_o thing_n that_o we_o thus_o desire_v together_o with_o it_o he_o send_v some_o grievous_a affliction_n as_o upon_o this_o people_n here_o and_o afterwards_o the_o same_o people_n when_o they_o will_v needs_o have_v a_o king_n &_o can_v not_o be_v dissuade_v to_o the_o contrary_a the_o lord_n give_v they_o one_o in_o his_o wrath_n but_o it_o be_v a_o cruel_a saul_n and_o there_o be_v great_a reason_n of_o this_o in_o all_o thing_n for_o beside_o that_o the_o care_n of_o they_o &_o seek_v in_o all_o thing_n to_o do_v they_o good_a even_o as_o he_o know_v what_o be_v commodious_a for_o they_o which_o be_v so_o much_o the_o great_a a_o sin_n in_o they_o by_o
