ourselves_o that_o we_o may_v be_v patient_a in_o tribulation_n now_o follow_v the_o latter_a clause_n of_o the_o four_o meditation_n viz._n that_o god_n in_o all_o tribulation_n will_v give_v a_o seasonable_a and_o gracious_a issue_n if_o their_o be_v no_o end_n of_o tribulation_n it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o persuade_v to_o patience_n but_o nothing_o be_v more_o often_o mention_v in_o scripture_n then_o a_o end_n of_o trouble_n psal._n 34._o 19_o many_o be_v the_o trouble_n of_o the_o righteous_a but_o the_o lord_n deliver_v they_o out_o of_o all_o joh._n 16._o 20._o you_o shall_v be_v sorrowful_a but_o your_o sorrow_n shall_v be_v turn_v into_o joy_n how_o often_o do_v david_n confess_v that_o the_o lord_n deliver_v he_o out_o of_o all_o his_o tribulation_n ob._n yea_o but_o david_n and_o other_o complain_v that_o it_o be_v very_o long_o before_o the_o lord_n help_v they_o and_o the_o same_o complaint_n do_v many_o in_o these_o day_n take_v up_o insomuch_o that_o they_o begin_v to_o faint_v under_o the_o burden_n of_o sickness_n want_n disgrace_n etc._n etc._n before_o they_o be_v deliver_v ans._n this_o be_v true_a the_o lord_n sometime_o defer_v long_o before_o he_o help_v we_o in_o tribulation_n but_o he_o do_v it_o in_o wisdom_n if_o we_o have_v eye_n to_o see_v it_o to_o some_o he_o defer_v to_o grant_v their_o suit_n that_o he_o may_v make_v they_o more_o earnest_a in_o prayer_n which_o be_v a_o exercise_n wherein_o he_o great_o delight_v second_o he_o defer_v some_o to_o make_v they_o more_o sweet_o taste_v the_o benefit_n when_o it_o come_v whereas_o if_o it_o be_v present_o grant_v it_o will_v be_v quick_o forget_v three_o god_n delay_v to_o send_v help_n in_o trouble_n to_o put_v we_o in_o mind_n how_o we_o have_v put_v off_o from_o day_n to_o day_n to_o turn_v to_o he_o four_o most_o common_o god_n prolong_v the_o time_n of_o our_o tribulation_n because_o it_o have_v not_o full_o accomplish_v the_o work_n for_o which_o he_o send_v it_o our_o vain_a imagination_n be_v not_o cast_v down_o our_o rebellious_a lust_n be_v not_o mortify_v our_o mind_n be_v not_o humble_v our_o compassion_n towards_o other_o in_o affliction_n be_v not_o stir_v up_o our_o heart_n be_v not_o wean_v from_o this_o world_n wherefore_o if_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n at_o any_o time_n be_v upon_o thou_o present_o enter_v into_o examination_n with_o thyself_o and_o deal_v impartial_o with_o thy_o soul_n and_o humble_v thyself_o mighty_o if_o thou_o expect_v deliverance_n for_o god_n delight_v not_o in_o thy_o tribulation_n but_o delay_n only_o until_o thou_o be_v prepare_v for_o deliverance_n object_n i_o have_v examine_v all_o my_o way_n and_o humble_v myself_o great_o and_o be_v very_o earnest_a in_o prayer_n long_o and_o yet_o i_o see_v no_o end_n of_o trouble_n ans._n perhaps_o thou_o do_v make_v too_o much_o haste_n whereas_o
