not_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n nay_o 14._o 1_o cor._n 2_o 14._o he_o can_v receive_v they_o because_o they_o be_v foolishness_n to_o he_o so_o that_o there_o must_v be_v a_o preparation_n of_o the_o soul_n before_o christ_n will_v come_v and_o take_v possession_n of_o it_o and_o a_o empty_n of_o the_o soul_n before_o christ_n will_v fill_v it_o now_o this_o preparation_n dispensation_n on_o god_n part_n so_o there_o be_v something_o for_o the_o disposition_n which_o god_n work_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o all_o that_o he_o will_v prepare_v for_o christ_n and_o that_o be_v know_v in_o two_o work_n contrition_n and_o humiliation_n which_o we_o have_v already_o handle_v christ_n two_o thing_n keep_v from_o christ_n these_o be_v not_o thing_n of_o mere_a compliment_n but_o of_o necessity_n require_v as_o we_o have_v dispute_v and_o it_o be_v requisite_a that_o the_o soul_n have_v both_o the_o work_n of_o contrition_n and_o of_o humiliation_n for_o there_o be_v two_o main_a hindrance_n which_o keep_v the_o soul_n off_o from_o christ_n as_o first_o security_n in_o his_o own_o estate_n whereby_o the_o heart_n be_v blind_v and_o delude_v and_o set_v up_o his_o stand_n and_o be_v at_o rest_n and_o quiet_a in_o his_o condition_n and_o he_o see_v no_o need_n of_o any_o better_a and_o from_o hence_o natural_a man_n think_v it_o needless_a for_o minister_n to_o disquiet_v they_o and_o they_o say_v what_o will_v you_o have_v do_v by_o we_o and_o they_o think_v it_o a_o matter_n of_o curiosity_n either_o to_o have_v their_o heart_n change_v or_o their_o life_n reform_v now_o therefore_o the_o lord_n send_v in_o this_o work_n of_o contrition_n and_o pierce_v the_o heart_n through_o and_o let_v in_o the_o horror_n of_o his_o vengeance_n and_o make_v the_o soul_n see_v that_o if_o he_o will_v have_v his_o sin_n he_o must_v have_v his_o damnation_n too_o and_o by_o this_o time_n the_o soul_n come_v to_o see_v need_n of_o a_o change_n and_o he_o see_v joshua_n a_o type_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o egypt_n the_o resemblance_n of_o a_o man_n misery_n under_o sin_n and_o satan_n and_o their_o wander_a in_o the_o wilderness_n be_v like_o the_o humble_v and_o break_v of_o the_o soul_n that_o the_o lord_n may_v do_v it_o good_a now_o we_o be_v just_a upon_o the_o coast_n of_o canaan_n and_o hard_o by_o all_o those_o spiritual_a good_a thing_n that_o christ_n have_v purchase_v for_o we_o and_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v thus_o fit_v and_o prepare_v there_o be_v nothing_o to_o be_v do_v but_o to_o go_v into_o the_o good_a land_n and_o take_v
