i_o r_n act_z of_o council_n anent_o highway_n and_o bridge_n edinburgh_n the_o twenty_o second_o day_n of_o june_n 1686._o forasmuch_o as_o by_o the_o sixteenth_o act_n of_o the_o first_o session_n of_o the_o second_o parliament_n of_o king_n charles_n the_o second_o in_o anno_fw-la 1669._o the_o justice_n of_o peace_n in_o each_o shire_n be_v ordain_v to_o conveen_n at_o the_o head_n burgh_n of_o the_o shire_n the_o first_o tuesday_n of_o may_n yearly_o for_o order_v of_o highway_n bridge_n and_o ferries_n and_o the_o whole_a heretor_n be_v require_v to_o conveen_n at_o the_o respective_a headburgh_n the_o first_o tuesday_n of_o june_n yearly_o and_o to_o call_v for_o a_o account_n from_o the_o justice_n of_o peace_n of_o what_o be_v needful_a for_o reparation_n of_o the_o highway_n and_o bridge_n what_o expense_n be_v requisite_a for_o promove_v thereof_o and_o according_o to_o stint_v the_o heretor_n not_o exceed_v ten_o shilling_n scot_n upon_o the_o hundred_o pound_n of_o value_a rent_n in_o one_o year_n and_o see_v by_o a_o late_a act_n of_o this_o current_a parliament_n entitle_v additional_a act_n anent_o highway_n and_o bridge_n the_o last_o tuesday_n of_o june_n instant_a be_v appoint_v to_o be_v the_o first_o diet_n of_o meet_v of_o the_o justice_n of_o peace_n and_o commissioner_n of_o supply_n in_o the_o several_a shire_n for_o this_o year_n but_o there_o be_v no_o day_n appoint_v for_o conveen_v of_o the_o heretor_n to_o the_o end_n the_o reparation_n of_o the_o highway_n and_o bridge_n be_v so_o good_a and_o necessary_a a_o work_n may_v meet_v with_o no_o obstruction_n therefore_o the_o lord_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n do_v hereby_o authorize_v and_o require_v the_o whole_a freeholders_n and_o heretor_n of_o the_o several_a shire_n on_o this_o side_n of_o tay_n to_o meet_v at_o the_o respective_a headburgh_n within_o the_o same_o upon_o the_o second_o tuesday_n of_o july_n next_o for_o this_o year_n to_o the_o effect_v mention_v in_o the_o foresay_a act_n of_o parliament_n 1669._o and_o these_o beyond_o tay_n upon_o the_o three_o tuesday_n of_o july_n next_o and_o yearly_a thereafter_o conform_v to_o the_o act_n of_o parliament_n and_o appoint_v the_o sheriff_n of_o the_o respective_a shire_n or_o their_o depute_n to_o cause_n make_v intimation_n of_o the_o foresay_a diet_n of_o meeting_n at_o the_o several_a paroch_n kirk_n upon_o the_o sunday_n immediate_o precede_v the_o same_o and_o to_o the_o end_n these_o present_n may_v be_v more_o public_o and_o notour_o know_v to_o all_o the_o liege_n ordain_v the_o same_o to_o be_v publish_v at_o the_o mercat_n cross_n of_o edinburgh_n by_o a_o macer_n of_o council_n extract_v forth_o of_o the_o record_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n by_o i_o sir_n william_n paterson_n clerk_n of_o council_n will._n paterson_n edinburgh_n print_v by_o the_o heir_n of_o andrew_n anderson_n printer_n to_o his_o most_o sacred_a majesty_n anno_fw-la dom._n 1686._o
