draught_n of_o a_o act_n concern_v the_o mint_n our_o sovereign_a lord_n consider_v that_o by_o the_o act_n of_o parliament_n 1686_o entitle_v act_n anent_o a_o humble_a offer_n to_o his_o majesty_n for_o a_o imposition_n upon_o certain_a commodity_n for_o defray_v the_o expense_n of_o a_o free_a coinage_n and_o other_o matter_n relate_v to_o the_o mint_n the_o foresaid_a expense_n of_o a_o free_a coinage_n and_o several_a matter_n relate_v to_o the_o mint_n be_v indeed_o settle_v but_o neither_o so_o perfect_o nor_o so_o full_o as_o experience_n have_v since_o discover_v but_o that_o there_o be_v still_o need_n and_o place_n for_o a_o far_a regulation_n do_v therefore_o with_o advice_n and_o consent_n of_o the_o estate_n of_o parliament_n statute_n and_o ordain_v that_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v recommend_v by_o the_o say_a act_n to_o the_o lord_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n to_o try_v by_o some_o of_o their_o number_n every_o journal_n of_o coin_n by_o itself_o dictinct_o and_o that_o twice_o every_o year_n viz._n in_o the_o month_n of_o july_n and_o december_n yearly_a yet_o see_v the_o foresaid_a distinct_a trial_n of_o every_o journal_n have_v be_v find_v both_o a_o tedious_a and_o superfluous_a labour_n and_o be_v not_o practise_v any_o where_o else_o it_o shall_v be_v leisome_a for_o the_o say_n lord_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n to_o make_v the_o say_a trial_n by_o such_o of_o their_o number_n as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a not_o of_o every_o journal_n of_o coin_n by_o itself_o distinct_o but_o by_o take_v and_o make_v trial_n of_o any_o one_o or_o more_o single_a journal_o as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a and_o then_o to_o cause_n melt_v down_o in_o one_o mass_n or_o lignat_fw-la the_o rest_n of_o the_o journal_o to_o be_v at_o that_o time_n try_v and_o to_o take_v a_o essay_n of_o the_o mass_n so_o melt_v down_o as_o say_v be_v which_o shall_v stand_v for_o the_o whole_a but_o prejudice_n always_o to_o the_o say_n lord_n of_o council_n to_o make_v distinct_a trial_n of_o the_o hail_o foresaid_a journal_o as_o they_o shall_v see_v cause_n as_o also_o still_o recommend_v to_o they_o the_o exact_a trial_n of_o all_o matter_n relate_v to_o the_o coinage_n at_o the_o for_o say_v two_o time_n above_o specify_v in_o manner_n mention_v in_o the_o say_v act._n and_o far_o for_o the_o better_a ascertain_v of_o the_o fineness_n of_o the_o coin_n his_o majesty_n with_o advice_n and_o consent_n for_o say_v do_v hereby_o ordain_v that_o not_o only_o the_o principal_a or_o counter-warden_n be_v present_a at_o the_o take_n off_o all_o essay_n but_o that_o there_o be_v a_o plate_n of_o silver_n of_o the_o true_a standard_n fineness_n make_v by_o the_o essay-master_n at_o the_o sight_n of_o such_o as_o the_o lord_n of_o privy_a council_n shall_v think_v fit_a to_o appoint_v which_o plate_n due_o make_v and_o mark_v one_o half_a thereof_o shall_v be_v put_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o clerk_n of_o exchequer_n for_o a_o proof_n of_o the_o general_a essay_n and_o the_o other_o half_a in_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o principal_a or_o counter-warden_n that_o all_o the_o pot_n and_o pix_n essay_n may_v be_v thereby_o make_v and_o examine_v
