a_o proclamation_n for_o call_v out_o the_o heretor_n and_o other_o in_o the_o shire_n of_o perth_n and_o forfar_n and_o other_o beyond_o the_o water_n of_o tay._n at_o edinburgh_n the_o sixteen_o day_n of_o july_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o and_o eighty_o nineyear_n whereas_o his_o grace_n the_o lord_n high_a commissioner_n and_o the_o lord_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n be_v sufficient_o inform_v that_o there_o be_v some_o number_n of_o irish_a papist_n and_o other_o ship_v at_o craig-fergus_n in_o three_o man_n of_o war_n and_o that_o they_o have_v pass_v the_o mule_n of_o kintire_n and_o sail_v betwixt_o isla_n and_o jura_n and_o be_v probable_o before_o this_o time_n land_a in_o some_o place_n of_o the_o isle_n or_o highland_n about_o innerlochie_n therefore_o the_o lord_n high_a commissioner_n and_o the_o lord_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n have_v thought_n sit_v in_o his_o majes_n tie_v name_n and_o authority_n to_o certify_v the_o liedge_n anent_o the_o invasion_n and_o descent_n of_o these_o barbarous_a and_o bloody_a people_n who_o will_v certain_o join_v with_o the_o viscount_n of_o dundee_n and_o other_o rebel_n that_o be_v in_o arm_n with_o he_o and_o do_v require_v the_o liege_n that_o none_o of_o they_o take_v in_o hand_n to_o correspond_v with_o reset_v supply_v or_o any_o way_n assist_v these_o rebel_n and_o papist_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a all_o sheriff_n baily_n of_o regality_n or_o bailliaries_n stewart_n and_o all_o other_o magistrate_n whatsoever_o within_o the_o sheriffdom_n of_o perth_n and_o forfar_n and_o all_o other_o upon_o the_o north_n side_n of_o the_o water_n of_o tay_n be_v hereby_o express_o require_v and_o command_v to_o attend_v general-major_a mccay_n commander_n in_o chief_a of_o his_o majesty_n force_n in_o this_o present_a expedition_n for_o reduce_v of_o these_o rebel_n and_o invader_n and_o that_o they_o receive_v and_o obey_v his_o order_n from_o time_n to_o time_n either_o in_o conveen_v the_o heretor_n and_o other_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o respective_a shire_n in_o arm_n to_o his_o majesty_n host_n at_o what_o time_n or_o place_n he_o shall_v think_v sit_v to_o appoint_v or_o in_o furnish_v provision_n baggage-horse_n and_o what_o else_o may_v be_v necessary_a for_o his_o majesty_n service_n in_o this_o expedition_n as_o they_o shall_v be_v advertise_v by_o the_o say_v general-major_a mccay_n or_o his_o order_n require_v likeways_o the_o heretor_n and_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o several_a shire_n to_o obey_v punctual_o the_o order_n that_o shall_v be_v give_v to_o they_o by_o the_o respective_a sheriff_n stewart_n baily_n and_o magistrate_n to_o the_o effect_v foresay_v and_o his_o grace_n the_o lord_n high_a commissioner_n and_o lord_n of_o privy_a council_n do_v certify_v that_o if_o any_o of_o the_o magistrate_n or_o inhabitant_n of_o these_o shire_n of_o perth_n forfar_n and_o other_o beyond_o tay_n shall_v be_v negligent_a or_o refractory_a in_o conveen_v in_o arm_n when_o require_v in_o manner_n foresay_a or_o give_v their_o assistance_n for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o his_o majesty_n troop_n furnish_v of_o horse_n or_o the_o carry_n and_o transport_v of_o their_o ammunition_n provision_n and_o baggage_n at_o this_o time_n when_o the_o country_n be_v invade_v by_o barbarous_a papist_n join_v with_o intestine_a rebel_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v proceed_v against_o to_o the_o outmost_a extremity_n of_o law._n and_o ordain_v these_o present_n to_o be_v publish_v at_o the_o mercat-cross_n of_o edinburgh_n and_o at_o the_o mercat-cross_n of_o perth_n forfar_n and_o other_o mercat-cross_n needful_a beyond_o the_o water_n of_o tay._n extract_v by_o i_o gilb_n eliot_n cls._n sti._n concilii_fw-la god_n save_o king_n william_n and_o queen_n mary_n edinburgh_n print_v by_o the_o heir_n of_o andrew_n anderson_n by_o order_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n anno_fw-la dom._n 1689._o
