their_o own_o ill_a example_n and_o word_n there_o be_v other_o also_o who_o though_o they_o seem_v to_o have_v some_o care_n to_o keep_v holy_a the_o day_n themselves_o and_o have_v indeed_o yet_o either_o through_o ignorance_n or_o negligence_n do_v not_o once_o look_v to_o their_o household_n whether_o they_o come_v to_o church_n or_o no_o and_o sit_v there_o attentive_o and_o continue_v there_o with_o profit_n to_o the_o end_n nor_o how_o they_o spend_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o day_n but_o be_v demand_v where_o their_o servant_n be_v how_o chance_v they_o come_v not_o to_o church_n etc._n etc._n they_o answer_v secure_o and_o as_o they_o think_v sufficient_o as_o though_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n mere_o impertinent_a unto_o they_o that_o they_o can_v tell_v they_o do_v not_o hinder_v they_o from_o the_o church_n they_o may_v come_v if_o they_o will_v they_o be_v of_o age_n to_o look_v to_o themselves_o and_o be_v past_a boy_n now_o and_o i_o can_v tell_v what_o etc._n etc._n but_o they_o must_v consider_v beside_o that_o which_o have_v be_v already_o speak_v concern_v this_o matter_n that_o they_o do_v too_o foolish_o and_o gross_o imagine_v to_o stop_v as_o it_o be_v the_o mouth_n of_o the_o lord_n with_o that_o simple_a answer_n in_o his_o business_n which_o they_o will_v not_o receive_v at_o their_o servant_n hand_n in_o their_o own_o for_o in_o the_o six_o day_n when_o their_o servant_n be_v in_o their_o own_o business_n they_o will_v not_o let_v they_o come_v and_o go_v at_o their_o own_o pleasure_n and_o content_v themselves_o with_o a_o bare_a imagination_n that_o they_o be_v at_o their_o work_n but_o will_v be_v sure_a of_o it_o and_o therefore_o set_v they_o to_o it_o look_v upon_o they_o in_o the_o do_n of_o it_o and_o call_v they_o to_o a_o account_n for_o it_o which_o if_o it_o be_v well_o do_v in_o themselves_o because_o they_o know_v otherwise_o they_o will_v be_v negligent_a how_o must_v it_o not_o then_o needs_o be_v a_o great_a unkindness_n and_o unthankfulness_n
in_o they_o unto_o god_n that_o upon_o this_o day_n which_o be_v but_o one_o among_o seven_o his_o service_n shall_v be_v so_o slender_o look_v unto_o that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o diligence_n use_v towards_o their_o servant_n that_o they_o may_v perform_v it_o and_o how_o must_v it_o not_o needs_o be_v a_o great_a injury_n to_o their_o servant_n who_o be_v natural_o and_o for_o the_o most_o part_n more_o negligent_a and_o careless_a in_o god_n service_n by_o reason_n of_o their_o corruption_n than_o they_o can_v be_v in_o the_o service_n of_o man_n to_o be_v deprive_v of_o that_o benefit_n of_o their_o governor_n which_o be_v the_o chief_a and_o for_o which_o cause_n especial_o they_o be_v commit_v to_o their_o government_n namely_o to_o be_v further_v by_o they_o in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n but_o use_v they_o more_o like_a beast_n than_o man_n even_o that_o they_o may_v be_v serviceable_a unto_o they_o &_o then_o care_v not_o whether_o they_o serve_v god_n or_o the_o devil_n we_o know_v that_o servant_n look_v to_o be_v prefer_v by_o their_o master_n and_o so_o there_o be_v good_a reason_n when_o they_o have_v serve_v they_o faithful_o but_o what_o kind_n of_o reward_n be_v this_o when_o have_v bestow_v some_o earthly_a benefit_n upon_o they_o by_o have_v no_o care_n to_o make_v they_o serve_v the_o lord_n and_o sanctify_v the_o sabbath_n they_o do_v in_o the_o end_n not_o only_o make_v they_o lose_v the_o everlasting_a reward_n but_o preserve_v they_o to_o eternal_a destruction_n moreover_o there_o be_v a_o company_n of_o idle_a servingman_n servant_n who_o in_o spend_v their_o time_n all_o the_o six_o day_n have_v almost_o nothing_o therein_o to_o do_v be_v seldom_o look_v unto_o upon_o the_o seven_o day_n but_o permit_v to_o bestow_v it_o as_o vain_o as_o the_o other_o and_o as_o they_o never_o almost_o do_v any_o good_a day_n work_v to_o their_o master_n so_o much_o less_o do_v they_o spend_v any_o sabbath_n in_o the_o lord_n service_n but_o they_o especial_o be_v leave_v to_o go_v and_o come_v at_o their_o will_n other_o that_o have_v any_o office_n of_o great_a charge_n and_o attendance_n as_o the_o cook_n butler_n and_o such_o like_a in_o great_a house_n seldom_o or_o never_o come_v to_o the_o church_n and_o that_o but_o by_o piece_n either_o when_o half_o be_v do_v or_o else_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o depart_v before_o half_o be_v end_v &_o so_o both_o hinder_v the_o lord_n from_o that_o service_n which_o he_o shall_v have_v by_o they_o &_o themselves_o from_o that_o blessing_n which_o they_o shall_v idherit_v that_o way_n and_o both_o cause_n the_o name_n of_o god_n to_o be_v ill_o speak_v of_o and_o pull_v upon_o themselves_o &_o their_o master_n that_o curse_v which_o belong_v to_o the_o continual_a be_v with_o the_o continual_a danger_n of_o the_o soul_n of_o their_o servant_n beside_o the_o dishovour_n of_o the_o name_n of_o god_n when_o david_n have_v inconsiderat_o desire_v to_o drink_v of_o the_o water_n of_o bethleem_n three_o mighty_a man_n break_v into_o the_o host_n of_o the_o philistine_n and_o draw_v water_n and_o bring_v it_o to_o he_o but_o he_o will_v not_o drink_v thereof_o culpable_a of_o the_o same_o judgement_n before_o god_n see_v it_o be_v all_o one_o with_o the_o servant_n whether_o they_o live_v in_o the_o place_n where_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v not_o preach_v at_o all_o or_o if_o it_o be_v yet_o they_o come_v not_o unto_o it_o but_o whereas_o man_n be_v ready_a to_o object_n that_o in_o objection_n a_o great_a family_n many_o must_v needs_o be_v absent_a we_o grant_v it_o to_o be_v true_a in_o some_o part_n that_o be_v answer_n at_o some_o time_n &_o upon_o some_o occasion_n but_o so_o ordinary_o and_o so_o continual_o as_o they_o themselves_o in_o their_o own_o conscience_n be_v privy_a to_o who_o make_v this_o question_n we_o know_v no_o necessity_n that_o can_v excuse_v that_o nay_o we_o be_v sure_a that_o the_o lord_n have_v lay_v no_o such_o call_n upon_o any_o man_n that_o shall_v keep_v he_o in_o a_o continual_a breach_n of_o the_o sabbath_n and_o therefore_o both_o master_n and_o servant_n may_v suspect_v that_o he_o be_v in_o such_o a_o call_n as_o be_v not_o agreeable_a to_o god_n word_n or_o that_o he_o use_v it_o not_o aright_o when_o it_o make_v he_o if_o not_o whole_o yet_o for_o the_o most_o part_n to_o neglect_v the_o service_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o sabbath_n day_n and_o we_o know_v where_o there_o be_v great_a care_n to_o serve_v and_o please_v god_n by_o prayer_n the_o lord_n will_v give_v to_o they_o such_o wisdom_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o redeem_v if_o not_o the_o whole_a yet_o at_o least_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o day_n which_o otherwise_o will_v be_v mis-spend_v namely_o by_o let_v pass_v many_o needless_a thing_n by_o prepare_v so_o much_o before_o as_o convenient_o may_v be_v by_o rise_v so_o much_o the_o more_o early_o in_o the_o morning_n and_o by_o the_o interchangeable_a help_n of_o our_o servant_n especial_o when_o they_o will_v for_o these_o cause_n be_v content_v with_o so_o much_o the_o less_o though_o not_o in_o quantity_n for_o the_o relief_n of_o other_o yet_o with_o less_o exquisite_a and_o curious_a dress_n which_o especial_o take_v up_o the_o time_n and_o so_o we_o be_v sure_a and_o they_o that_o will_v try_v it_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o with_o a_o care_n to_o serve_v he_o and_o in_o a_o love_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o their_o brethren_n shall_v find_v it_o to_o be_v true_a by_o experience_n that_o many_o may_v keep_v holy_a the_o sabbarh_n which_o now_o do_v it_o not_o at_o all_o other_o may_v keep_v it_o more_o than_o they_o do_v which_o if_o yet_o it_o be_v think_v unpossible_a because_o we_o go_v not_o about_o to_o practice_v it_o let_v we_o but_o observe_v that_o which_o we_o shall_v see_v do_v in_o the_o house_n when_o the_o servant_n be_v very_o desirous_a to_o go_v to_o a_o fair_a and_o the_o master_n be_v as_o willing_a to_o let_v he_o go_v you_o will_v wonder_v to_o see_v how_o thing_n shall_v be_v dispatch_v up_o sudden_o and_o in_o good_a order_n they_o shall_v be_v absent_a many_o hour_n and_o yet_o not_o great_o miss_v if_o any_o thing_n be_v otherwise_o then_o be_v usual_a it_o be_v horn_n with_o because_o it_o be_v a_o day_n of_o provision_n for_o themselves_o and_o that_o day_n be_v not_o every_o day_n so_o then_o if_o the_o master_n be_v persuade_v of_o the_o lord_n day_n as_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v even_o that_o it_o be_v the_o time_n of_o make_v provision_n for_o the_o soul_n and_o be_v as_o careful_a for_o the_o soul_n of_o their_o servant_n as_o they_o be_v for_o their_o body_n and_o do_v esteem_v it_o more_o for_o their_o worship_n &_o credit_n that_o their_o servant_n be_v religious_a then_o that_o they_o be_v costly_a &_o well_o set_v out_o in_o apparel_n they_o will_v be_v better_o content_v to_o spare_v they_o during_o the_o time_n of_o that_o market_n where_o they_o may_v buy_v without_o money_n all_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n and_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n whereby_o they_o shall_v not_o only_o save_v their_o own_o soul_n but_o be_v make_v more_o fit_a to_o do_v duty_n to_o their_o master_n of_o conscience_n therefore_o to_o end_v this_o point_n it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o together_o all_o household_n governor_n to_o cause_v the_o whole_a family_n to_o be_v in_o a_o readiness_n to_o attend_v upon_o they_o too_o and_o fro_o the_o church_n and_o that_o it_o be_v not_o leave_v at_o every_o which_o be_v from_o above_o there_o all_o that_o be_v do_v tend_v to_o the_o ease_n pleasure_n and_o profit_n of_o this_o life_n wherein_o it_o be_v fit_a for_o bruit_n beast_n then_o for_o man_n to_o seek_v their_o felicity_n now_o that_o there_o be_v a_o good_a kind_n of_o govern_v of_o a_o family_n which_o they_o who_o follow_v wise_o may_v be_v say_v to_o govern_v well_o appear_v out_o of_o the_o first_o epistle_n to_o timothy_n 3._o verse_n 4._o 5._o one_o that_o experience_n guide_v his_o house_n well_o etc._n etc._n and_o after_o he_o that_o know_v not_o to_o govern_v his_o own_o house_n etc._n etc._n whereby_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o there_o be_v a_o way_n of_o order_v the_o family_n aright_o and_o there_o be_v no_o misgovern_v of_o it_o to_o set_v down_o this_o good_a government_n exact_o be_v a_o hard_a matter_n here_o only_o we_o will_v note_v some_o thing_n which_o do_v appertain_v unto_o that_o government_n which_o we_o speak_v of_o and_o to_o do_v it_o more_o orderly_o that_o it_o may_v be_v the_o better_o understand_v we_o must_v consider_v that_o as_o may_v also_o be_v gather_v out_o of_o that_o place_n of_o timothy_n there_o be_v two_o sort_n in_o every_o perfect_a family_n 1._o the_o governor_n 2._o those_o that_o must_v be_v rule_v and_o these_o two_o sort_n have_v special_a duty_n belong_v to_o they_o the_o one_o towards_o the_o other_o in_o consist_v the_o careful_a performance_n whereof_o from_o the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o consist_v the_o good_a government_n of_o a_o family_n the_o governor_n of_o a_o family_n be_v such_o as_o have_v family_n authority_n in_o the_o family_n by_o god_n ordinance_n as_o the_o father_n and_o mother_n master_n and_o mistress_n to_o who_o as_o god_n have_v give_v authority_n over_o their_o child_n and_o servant_n so_o he_o will_v have_v they_o to_o use_v it_o to_o the_o wise_a government_n of_o authority_n they_o not_o only_o for_o their_o own_o private_a profit_n credit_n or_o pleasure_n but_o also_o for_o the_o good_a of_o those_o who_o they_o be_v to_o govern_v for_o by_o a_o wise_a government_n much_o good_a come_v to_o the_o party_n govern_v if_o master_n then_o or_o parent_n do_v not_o do_v govern_v but_o let_v servant_n and_o child_n do_v as_o they_o list_v they_o do_v not_o only_o disobey_v god_n and_o disadvantage_n themselves_o but_o also_o hurt_v those_o who_o they_o shall_v rule_v for_o when_o as_o any_o have_v such_o liberty_n to_o do_v as_o they_o list_v it_o make_v they_o grow_v out_o of_o order_n to_o the_o provoke_a of_o god_n displeasure_n and_o curse_v against_o themselves_o whereas_o if_o they_o have_v be_v hold_v in_o by_o the_o bridle_n of_o government_n they_o may_v be_v bring_v to_o walk_v so_o 4._o as_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n may_v follow_v they_o in_o their_o course_n all_o government_n of_o a_o family_n must_v be_v in_o comeliness_n government_n or_o decency_n that_o be_v it_o must_v be_v such_o as_o be_v meet_v and_o convenient_a both_o household_n government_n and_o yet_o familiarity_n with_o such_o as_o be_v under_o government_n breed_v contempt_n again_o for_o the_o person_n govern_v all_o in_o the_o family_n be_v not_o to_o be_v govern_v alike_o there_o be_v one_o rule_n to_o govern_v the_o wife_n by_o another_o for_o child_n another_o for_o servant_n one_o rule_n for_o young_a one_o another_o for_o old_a folk_n the_o government_n of_o a_o family_n tend_v unto_o two_o thing_n special_o first_o christian_a holiness_n 〈◊〉_d and_o second_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n by_o the_o first_o god_n be_v glorify_v by_o the_o second_o this_o present_a life_n be_v sustain_v in_o such_o sort_n as_o god_n see_v good_a for_o us._n how-soev_a where_o humane_a policy_n be_v the_o rule_n of_o household_n government_n there_o man_n only_o have_v a_o eye_n to_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n yet_o they_o which_o fetch_v their_o wisdom_n to_o rule_v by_o out_o of_o the_o word_n shall_v understand_v that_o their_o government_n must_v not_o only_o be_v civil_a but_o godly_a also_o that_o be_v they_o must_v seek_v to_o have_v holiness_n find_v in_o their_o habitation_n whereby_o god_n may_v be_v glorify_v as_o well_o as_o riches_n get_v that_o they_o may_v be_v comfort_v this_o have_v be_v the_o course_n of_o holy_a man_n in_o former_a age_n abraham_n flect_v often_o from_o place_n to_o place_n 9_o yet_o he_o build_v a_o altar_n wheresoever_o he_o become_v yea_o and_o train_v up_o his_o family_n in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n he_o do_v not_o seek_v excuse_n in_o his_o unsettle_a estate_n to_o let_v pass_v the_o care_n of_o holiness_n holy_a job_n be_v not_o content_v only_o to_o worship_n god_n himself_o alone_o but_o sanctify_v his_o son_n that_o be_v 7._o prepare_v they_o to_o worship_n god_n the_o faithful_a when_o they_o themselves_o believe_v in_o christ_n labour_v to_o bring_v their_o family_n to_o the_o faith_n also_o parent_n be_v also_o command_v to_o bring_v up_o their_o child_n in_o the_o instruction_n 4._o and_o information_n of_o the_o lord_n by_o all_o which_o place_n it_o be_v evident_a that_o religion_n must_v be_v stir_v in_o christian_a family_n &_o that_o good_a government_n look_v to_o bring_v godly_a behaviour_n into_o family_n as_o well_o as_o thrift_n and_o good_a husbandry_n for_o want_v of_o this_o care_n many_o parent_n leave_v their_o child_n fair_a face_n and_o foul_a mind_n proper_a body_n and_o deform_a soul_n full_a coffer_n and_o empty_a heart_n for_o want_v of_o this_o god_n may_v dwell_v in_o church_n if_o he_o will_v but_o he_o have_v no_o abode_n allow_v he_o in_o private_a family_n for_o will_n god_n be_v where_o he_o may_v not_o rule_v but_o must_v be_v a_o underling_n and_o stand_v and_o look_v on_o when_o profit_n and_o pleasure_n shall_v be_v serve_v and_o aloft_o yet_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n say_v that_o god_n will_v come_v and_o dwell_v with_o they_o that_o love_v he_o and_o keep_v 13._o his_o commandment_n where_o therefore_o holiness_n be_v not_o seek_v for_o in_o family_n there_o god_n have_v no_o friend_n norlover_n nor_o walker_n with_o he_o howsoever_o they_o will_v sometime_o come_v visit_v he_o eat_v the_o bread_n of_o 1._o carefulness_n other_o thrive_v but_o it_o be_v a_o woeful_a thirst_n that_o serve_v to_o harden_v the_o heart_n and_o to_o bewitch_v the_o soul_n with_o love_n and_o like_n of_o this_o world_n for_o god_n just_a judgement_n be_v upon_o many_o this_o way_n because_o they_o will_v needs_o serve_v their_o own_o commodity_n chief_o at_o home_n the_o lord_n give_v they_o up_o to_o themselves_o they_o never_o serve_v he_o
but_o cold_o and_o for_o custom_n sake_n at_o the_o church_n and_o god_n accept_v no_o more_o of_o their_o worship_n they_o do_v there_o than_o they_o love_v and_o like_v of_o his_o government_n in_o their_o house_n the_o governor_n of_o family_n if_o as_o it_o be_v in_o marriage_n there_o be_v more_o than_o one_o upon_o who_o the_o charge_n charge_n of_o government_n lie_v though_o unequal_o be_v first_o the_o chief_a governor_n which_o be_v the_o husband_n second_o a_o fellow-helper_n which_o be_v the_o wife_n these_o both_o do_v owe_v duty_n to_o their_o family_n and_o duty_n one_o to_o another_o the_o duty_n they_o owe_v to_o their_o family_n both_o concern_v godliness_n and_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n belong_v either_o to_o the_o husband_n especial_o or_o to_o the_o wife_n especial_o the_o duty_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o husband_n touch_v holiness_n be_v such_o as_o they_o either_o he_o must_v 1._o perform_v to_o they_o of_o his_o family_n 2._o or_o require_v of_o they_o the_o duty_n which_o he_o must_v perform_v to_o they_o be_v first_o touch_v the_o public_a ministry_n of_o the_o word_n to_o provide_v that_o they_o may_v live_v under_o a_o be_v ordinary_a ministry_n of_o the_o word_n or_o else_o to_o take_v order_n that_o always_o upon_o the_o sabbath_n and_o at_o other_o time_n when_o it_o may_v be_v they_o resort_v to_o such_o place_n where_o they_o may_v have_v the_o word_n minister_v unto_o they_o for_o else_o how_o shall_v they_o be_v bring_v into_o the_o sheepfold_a of_o god_n from_o which_o natural_o 4._o they_o go_v 〈◊〉_d but_o by_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o chief_a shepherd_n speak_v unto_o they_o by_o those_o who_o he_o send_v how_o shall_v they_o believe_v 21._o and_o so_o be_v beget_v again_o by_o the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n except_o they_o hear_v such_o as_o god_n send_v 11._o for_o the_o beget_n of_o man_n unto_o he_o how_o shall_v they_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n but_o by_o hear_v his_o messenger_n into_o who_o mouth_n he_o have_v put_v the_o word_n of_o reconciliation_n how_o shall_v they_o grow_v in_o faith_n and_o increase_v in_o grace_n but_o by_o receive_v with_o meekness_n the_o engraft_a word_n lie_v upon_o the_o governor_n of_o family_n to_o provide_v by_o some_o mean_n that_o they_o may_v have_v it_o for_o where_o the_o word_n be_v not_o preach_v there_o the_o lord_n sabbath_n can_v be_v hallow_v as_o it_o ought_v now_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o only_o have_v master_n of_o family_n to_o keep_v holy_a the_o sabbath_n themselves_o in_o all_o the_o part_n of_o his_o worship_n public_a and_o private_a but_o also_o that_o every_o one_o shall_v in_o his_o several_a place_n and_o room_n careful_o to_o take_v order_n that_o so_o many_o as_o be_v commit_v to_o his_o themselves_o charge_n shall_v sanctify_v the_o lord_n day_n as_o well_o as_o himself_o which_o though_o it_o be_v true_a in_o all_o other_o commandment_n namely_o that_o whatsoever_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v ourselves_o we_o must_v be_v mean_n to_o further_a other_o in_o do_v the_o same_o because_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o of_o our_o neighbour_n spread_v itself_o over_o all_o the_o commandment_n and_o therefore_o though_o it_o be_v not_o express_v it_o be_v necessary_o understand_v yet_o in_o the_o four_o commandment_n it_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o require_v because_o beside_o the_o analogy_n for_o they_o to_o look_v that_o they_o under_o their_o government_n shall_v rest_v unless_o they_o sanctify_v the_o day_n of_o rest_n also_o which_o they_o must_v be_v so_o much_o careful_a of_o by_o how_o much_o the_o sanctification_n of_o the_o day_n be_v great_a than_o the_o cease_v to_o work_v upon_o it_o as_o the_o end_n whereunto_o this_o be_v but_o refer_v and_o therefore_o if_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n in_o they_o at_o any_o time_n not_o to_o have_v a_o sufficient_a regard_n unto_o they_o that_o they_o do_v not_o work_v than_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o great_a sin_n if_o that_o through_o their_o negligence_n they_o do_v not_o sanctify_v and_o keep_v holy_a the_o day_n of_o rest_n so_o that_o here_o the_o lord_n god_n require_v that_o in_o all_o place_n there_o shall_v be_v such_o good_a law_n public_o in_o the_o common_a wealth_n and_o private_o in_o man_n house_n establish_v and_o diligent_o execute_v as_o thereby_o not_o only_o the_o ruler_n but_o also_o all_o in_o subjection_n shall_v be_v compel_v to_o thereto_o sanctify_v the_o lord_n day_n and_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v sure_o they_o do_v it_o indeed_o and_o as_o he_o must_v not_o leave_v it_o indifferent_a to_o they_o to_o choose_v whether_o they_o will_v work_v or_o rest_n and_o so_o think_v it_o sufficient_a that_o they_o do_v not_o lay_v any_o work_n upon_o they_o so_o be_v it_o not_o enough_o that_o they_o hinder_v they_o not_o from_o serve_v god_n upon_o that_o day_n unless_o they_o procure_v all_o the_o mean_n unto_o they_o whereby_o god_n may_v be_v worship_v of_o they_o and_o see_v that_o they_o worship_n god_n in_o they_o as_o well_o as_o themselves_o therefore_o the_o master_n of_o family_n must_v provide_v as_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o they_o that_o the_o word_n be_v public_o preach_v where_o they_o dwell_v not_o for_o themselves_o alone_o but_o for_o their_o child_n and_o servant_n take_v that_o they_o may_v keep_v holy_a the_o day_n together_o with_o they_o and_o they_o must_v not_o only_o come_v themselves_o to_o the_o place_n of_o common-prayer_n and_o divine_a service_n but_o bring_v these_o also_o with_o they_o and_o spend_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o day_n in_o all_o private_a godly_a exercise_n themselves_o and_o cause_v other_o to_o do_v so_o also_o and_o here_o lest_o this_o may_v seem_v too_o heavy_a unto_o we_o and_o that_o it_o may_v not_o be_v grievous_a to_o take_v so_o great_a a_o charge_n upon_o we_o we_o must_v remember_v that_o as_o we_o have_v great_a help_n by_o our_o inferior_n in_o many_o thing_n so_o the_o lord_n will_v have_v we_o to_o help_v they_o in_o the_o chief_a and_o princîpall_a and_o as_o he_o have_v make_v they_o our_o servant_n so_o we_o shall_v make_v they_o his_o servant_n and_o when_o they_o have_v serve_v we_o six_o day_n we_o may_v cause_v they_o to_o serve_v he_o upon_o the_o seven_o and_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v prefer_v we_o above_o they_o with_o their_o service_n so_o he_o will_v humble_v we_o with_o this_o charge_n and_o care_n over_o they_o or_o rather_o exalt_v we_o in_o that_o he_o will_v have_v we_o to_o be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o overseer_n of_o his_o work_n and_o not_o only_o serve_v he_o ourselves_o but_o also_o see_v his_o service_n do_v by_o other_o commit_v to_o our_o charge_n which_o if_o you_o do_v not_o wherein_o shall_v the_o christian_a governor_n of_o household_n differ_v from_o the_o infidel_n and_o heathen_a and_o what_o great_a thing_n shall_v we_o do_v for_o our_o servant_n then_o they_o nay_o what_o shall_v we_o do_v more_o for_o they_o then_o
so_o rare_a in_o the_o world_n as_o it_o be_v and_o man_n altogether_o so_o unacquainted_a with_o it_o as_o they_o be_v nay_o so_o loathsome_a and_o tedious_a to_o flesh_n &_o blood_n that_o they_o be_v afraid_a once_o to_o begin_v with_o it_o yet_o let_v the_o bare_a commandment_n of_o god_n prevail_v more_o with_o we_o to_o take_v it_o in_o hand_n and_o to_o continue_v in_o it_o than_o all_o that_o can_v be_v say_v or_o think_v against_o it_o shall_v weigh_v with_o we_o either_o to_o keep_v we_o from_o it_o at_o the_o first_o or_o afterward_o cause_v we_o to_o give_v it_o over_o and_o man_n that_o servant_n and_o child_n will_v not_o be_v rule_v that_o they_o can_v tell_v where_o to_o find_v a_o good_a servant_n they_o know_v not_o who_o to_o trust_v but_o they_o see_v not_o the_o great_a cause_n of_o it_o to_o be_v in_o themselves_o and_o so_o go_v not_o about_o to_o remedy_v it_o for_o while_o they_o labour_v not_o to_o make_v their_o child_n the_o son_n and_o daughter_n of_o god_n by_o adoption_n and_o to_o bring_v their_o servant_n within_o the_o household_n of_o god_n that_o they_o may_v be_v his_o servant_n by_o grace_n and_o to_o make_v their_o wife_n the_o chaste_a spouse_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o all_o of_o they_o to_o serve_v he_o the_o lord_n just_o punish_v they_o make_v wife_n child_n servant_n and_o all_o disobedient_a unto_o they_o for_o how_o can_v they_o do_v duty_n unto_o man_n if_o they_o have_v not_o learned_a to_o do_v duty_n unto_o god_n and_o so_o of_o conscience_n for_o god_n sake_n to_o do_v duty_n unto_o man_n nay_o must_v not_o the_o lord_n need_v punish_v they_o with_o disobedience_n against_o themselves_o that_o by_o their_o own_o experience_n they_o may_v know_v how_o grievous_a the_o neglect_n of_o his_o service_n be_v unto_o himself_o when_o he_o just_o measure_v out_o unto_o they_o with_o the_o same_o measure_n that_o they_o have_v meat_n unto_o he_o before_o and_o whereas_o man_n be_v ready_a to_o imagine_v and_o we_o know_v it_o be_v that_o which_o many_o do_v object_n against_o objection_n this_o that_o to_o deal_v so_o straight_o with_o their_o household_n be_v the_o next_o way_n to_o rid_v themselves_o of_o all_o good_a servant_n and_o that_o then_o they_o may_v soon_o be_v master_n and_o man_n themselves_o they_o must_v again_o on_o the_o contrary_n understand_v answer_n that_o it_o be_v a_o great_a wickedness_n in_o they_o once_o to_o think_v that_o the_o lord_n shall_v require_v that_o of_o they_o which_o will_v necessary_o drive_v they_o to_o such_o inconvenience_n nay_o rather_o than_o his_o company_n for_o he_o think_v himself_o to_o be_v in_o a_o prison_n nay_o in_o hell_n all_o the_o while_n but_o in_o the_o end_n he_o shall_v perceive_v that_o he_o be_v go_v from_o the_o way_n of_o heaven_n unto_o hell_n if_o the_o lord_n be_v not_o more_o merciful_a unto_o he_o and_o why_o shall_v we_o be_v loath_a to_o depart_v from_o the_o service_n of_o they_o that_o have_v no_o care_n to_o serve_v god_n or_o can_v we_o look_v that_o they_o shall_v do_v any_o faithful_a service_n unto_o we_o that_o be_v so_o unfaithful_a in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n but_o as_o concern_v the_o rest_n if_o any_o be_v religious_a us._n this_o be_v the_o best_a mean_a to_o retain_v and_o keep_v they_o if_o they_o be_v but_o indifferent_a this_o may_v win_v they_o if_o they_o be_v fall_v away_o this_o may_v recover_v they_o for_o what_o shall_v we_o think_v of_o all_o the_o godly_a father_n in_o time_n past_a that_o when_o they_o vow_v diligent_o to_o look_v to_o their_o household_n
