such_o a_o remedy_n be_v by_o far_o worse_o than_o the_o disease_n if_o his_o majesty_n shall_v legal_o accuse_v they_o to_o the_o parliament_n and_o they_o send_v in_o a_o legal_a manner_n for_o they_o we_o will_v venture_v our_o life_n to_o take_v they_o if_o need_n shall_v be_v but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o they_o be_v not_o fly_v away_o and_o we_o suppose_v they_o have_v little_a cause_n and_o that_o we_o be_v spoil_v and_o oppress_v by_o they_o and_o they_o enrich_v by_o we_o be_v never_o our_o complaint_n unto_o his_o majesty_n we_o can_v hearty_o wish_v there_o be_v no_o great_a spoiler_n and_o oppressor_n of_o the_o king_n subject_n in_o the_o kingdom_n than_o they_o be_v we_o will_v be_v very_o unwilling_a to_o have_v the_o cavalier_n to_o come_v to_o relieve_v we_o from_o these_o spoiler_n therefore_o i_o hope_v london_n will_v be_v as_o wary_a in_o deliver_v up_o such_o active_a and_o well_o affect_v member_n to_o be_v sacrifice_v to_o the_o malice_n of_o wicked_a man_n that_o have_v incense_v his_o majesty_n against_o they_o as_o the_o parliament_n a_o lead_a example_n have_v be_v in_o the_o very_a self_n same_o case_n and_o yet_o if_o his_o majesty_n have_v any_o crime_n against_o any_o or_o all_o of_o they_o there_o be_v no_o question_n but_o the_o city_n of_o london_n will_v as_o willing_o surrender_v they_o up_o to_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o law_n in_o a_o lawful_a proceed_n against_o they_o as_o the_o parliament_n be_v well_o in_o short_a we_o see_v the_o term_n upon_o which_o his_o majesty_n will_v grant_v our_o petition_n for_o peace_n and_o true_o if_o this_o be_v the_o way_n for_o peace_n viz._n to_o intimate_v unto_o we_o in_o general_a without_o any_o legal_a and_o orderly_a direction_n to_o seize_v upon_o the_o person_n of_o our_o chief_a member_n of_o the_o city_n which_o can_v be_v do_v but_o tumultuous_o and_o it_o be_v like_o without_o shed_v of_o blood_n we_o have_v rather_o be_v without_o it_o then_o have_v it_o we_o have_v rather_o wait_v for_o a_o better_a peace_n some_o other_o way_n as_o for_o his_o majesty_n promise_n upon_o this_o course_n take_v viz._n that_o he_o will_v come_v with_o his_o royal_a and_o not_o his_o martial_a guard_n and_o use_v his_o utmost_a endeavour_n that_o we_o may_v hereafter_o enjoy_v all_o the_o blessing_n of_o peace_n and_o plenty_n etc._n etc._n we_o believe_v then_o there_o will_v be_v no_o great_a need_n of_o his_o martial_a guard_n and_o his_o endeavour_n for_o our_o peace_n and_o plenty_n and_o the_o success_n thereof_o we_o may_v read_v in_o those_o country_n where_o his_o majesty_n have_v be_v with_o his_o force_n and_o make_v promise_n of_o this_o nature_n which_o will_v amount_v to_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o less_o peace_n and_o plenty_n then_o now_o we_o have_v and_o therefore_o for_o the_o last_o part_n of_o the_o author_n reply_n viz._n his_o majesty_n threaten_v if_o we_o take_v not_o this_o course_n if_o we_o continue_v to_o contribute_v our_o maintenance_n of_o the_o army_n under_o the_o earl_n of_o essex_n etc._n etc._n we_o reply_v only_o thus_o be_v in_o a_o great_a strait_n that_o we_o must_v and_o by_o god_n help_n will_v do_v the_o utmost_a that_o we_o can_v while_o we_o have_v life_n and_o breath_n to_o maintain_v the_o army_n raise_v up_o for_o the_o defence_n of_o our_o religion_n and_o kingdom_n under_o the_o command_n of_o the_o earl_n of_o essex_n but_o we_o have_v rather_o if_o god_n will_v please_v that_o no_o more_o english_a blood_n may_v be_v spill_v in_o this_o cause_n but_o we_o see_v how_o the_o case_n stand_v with_o we_o we_o must_v either_o join_v with_o the_o cavalier_n in_o fight_v against_o the_o kingdom_n the_o gospel_n parliament_n law_n and_o liberty_n or_o expect_v the_o utmost_a issue_n to_o our_o peril_n and_o sure_o we_o will_v rather_o stand_v to_o the_o issue_n of_o the_o lesser_a evil_n of_o sorrow_n rather_o than_o sin_n and_o fight_v for_o and_o not_o against_o the_o kingdom_n the_o author_n say_v his_o majesty_n hope_n his_o good_a subject_n of_o london_n will_v call_v to_o mind_v the_o act_n of_o their_o predecessor_n their_o duty_n affection_n loyalty_n and_o merit_n towards_o their_o prince_n the_o renown_n they_o have_v have_v with_o all_o posterity_n for_o and_o the_o blessing_n of_o heaven_n which_o always_o accompany_v those_o virtue_n and_o well_o consider_v the_o scorn_n and_o infamy_n which_o unavoidable_o will_v follow_v they_o and_o their_o child_n if_o infinite_o the_o mean_a part_n in_o quality_n and_o much_o the_o lesser_a part_n in_o number_n shall_v be_v able_a to_o alter_v the_o government_n so_o admirable_o establish_v destroy_v the_o trade_n so_o excellent_o settle_v and_o to_o waste_v the_o wealth_n so_o industrious_o get_v of_o that_o flourish_a city_n and_o then_o they_o will_v easy_o gather_v up_o the_o courage_n and_o resolution_n to_o join_v with_o his_o majesty_n in_o defence_n of_o that_o religion_n law_n and_o liberty_n which_o hitherto_o have_v and_o only_o can_v make_v themselves_o his_o majesty_n and_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n happy_a
