XXXV PLead y u my cause O Lord with them that strive with me upright Fight on my side against them all that still against me fight verse 2 In my defence take hold of shield and buckler in thy hand And by thy mercies manifold up for my help now stand verse 3 Draw out the spear and stop the way ' gainst them that me to shame Thus persecute say to my soul I thy salvation am verse 4 Let them confounded be that see my soul to shame them put Let them turn back confused all that do devise my hurt verse 5 Let them as chaffe before the wi● be driv'n from place to place And let the Angel of the LORD them in his anger chase verse 6 Let still their way be slippry heer and dark that they may fall And let the Angel of the Lord ev'n persecute them all verse 7 For without cause they have for hid in a pit their net Which without cause ev'n for mys● they digged have and set verse 8 Let unawars destruction him take let his net withall Which he hid catch himself in the destruction let him fall verse 9 And things below who is like unto thee Who dost the poor deliver still from him that is too strong Yea both the poor and needle al 's from spoilers that him wrong verse 11 False witnesses Lord did rise up hypocriticall in feasts which them did fill In rage and fury with their teeth they gnashed on me still verse 17 How long Lord wilt thou thus my soul my darling dear From their destructions now rescu● and from the Lions heer verse 18 In the great congregation I will thank thee heartilie Among much people from mine ● I will give praise to thee verse 19 Let not my foes ov'r me rejoice that wrongfully are set Nor who me hate without a cause wink with the eye then let verse 20 For they of peace do never speak but still they take in hand Deceitfull matters ' gainst them that are quiet in the land verse 21 Yea ' gainst me in my greatest grief their mouths they op'ned wide Our eye now hath it clearly seen Aha Aha they cri'd verse 22 This clearly hast thou seen O Lord therefore not silent be O LORD in this my great distresse now be not far from me verse 23 Stir up thy self and now awake me judgement to afford Ev'n plead my cause against my foes my GOD and al 's my LORD verse 24 According to true fear of God before his eyes alway verse 2 For in his own eyes he himself doth flatter foolishlie Till his iniquitie most vile be hatefull found to be The words of his mouth are deceit and great iniquitie He hath left off for to do good and also wife to be He great mischief upon his bed deviseth ever still ●n wayes not good he sets himself he not abhorreth ill Thy mercy Lord is surely in the heav'ns above our search ●nd like wise al 's thy faithfulnesse unto the clouds doth reach Thy righteousnesse most surely is like mountains great and steep A great deep al 's thy judgements a● thou man and beast dost keep verse 7 How excellent thy kindnesse is O GOD which comfort brings Therefore all men their trust put in the shaddow of thy wings verse 8 They with the fatnesse of thy he● well XXXVII FRet not thy self because of those that evill doers be Nor yet envious be at such as work iniquitie verse 2 For soon ev'n like unto the grasse cut down shall they be all And like unto the herbe that 's green they surely wither shall verse 3 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and carefullie do good And thou shalt dwell into the land well fed with needfull food verse 4 Delight thy self in God also and
still in their course endure verse 6 He shall most graciously come down like rain that 's powred foorth On the mown grasse as pleasant shours that water all the earth verse 7 The righteous man shall in his dayes in all things flourish sure With abundance of peace so long as shall the Moon endure verse 8 From sea to sea dominion he shall have by his great worth And from the river al 's unto the ends of all the earth verse 9 They that dwell in the wildernesse shall bow before him thick And also all his enemies the dust shall surely lick verse 10 The Kings of Tarshish and the Isles shall bring him presents all Of Sheba and Seba the kings gifts to him offer shall verse 11 Yea all Kings here upon the earth that he may them preserve Shall humbly fall down him before all nations shall him serve verse 12 For he the needy when he cryes deliver safely shall The poor also and him that heere no helper hath at all verse 13 He shall the poor and needy all in his great mercy spare And also shall save all the souls of those that needie are verse 14 From great deceit and violence their soul he by his might Shall safe redeeme and precious sh● their blood be in his sight verse 15 To him shall Shebas gold be giv'n and so well live shall he For him still prayer shall be made he daily praisd shall be verse 16 Even in the earth there shal of co● a little handfull be Upon the bare and barren tops of mountaines that are hie The fruit thereof like Cedar trees in Lebanon most tall Shall shake those of the city al 's like grasse then flourish shall verse 17 His Name for ever shall endure last as the Sun it shall In him men shal be blest and him all Nations blest shall call verse 18 The Lord God alwayes blessed be ev'n of Isral the GOD Who only by his mighty hand doth wondrous things abroad verse 19 And blessed be his glorious Name for ever among men The whole earth let his glory fill Amen yea and amen PSAL. LXXIII GOD truely unto Israel is good as may be seen Even to all such as upright are and of a heart that 's clean verse 2 But as for me in my great grief my feet in ev'rie way Were almost gone my steps also had well nigh slipt away verse 3 For envious at foolish men I was most foolishlie When of the wicked still I saw the great prosperitie verse 4 For in their death there are no ba● as others feel infirm But in their health and wealth also their strength is ever firm verse 5 They are not as all other men in trouble as we see Nor yet like other men also on earth they plagued be verse 6 Therefore vain pride even as a chi●● doth compasse them about Even as a garment violence doth cover them throughout verse 7 Their eyes always with fatnes swol● stand out yea more then this They have more wealth among their hands than any heart could wish verse 8 They altogether are corrupt and speak most wickedly Concerning their oppression great they proud speak loftily verse 9 Against the heav'ns most proudly they do set their mouth and talk Their tongue reviling throgh the earth continually doth walk verse 10 Therefore soon hither do return the people round about And of a full cup waters great unto them are wrung out verse 11 And thus they say how doth at all GOD know the things that be And is there any knowledge now in him who is most hie verse 12 Behold those the ungodly are and prosper at their will Heer in the world alwayes they do increase in riches still verse 13 I verilie did say my heart I cleansed have in vain And in mine innocencie al 's have wash'd my hands with pai● verse 14 For all the day long have I been still plagued more and more And every morning early I have al 's been chastned sore verse 15 If I say I will surely thus speak as I did intend Thy childrens generation just behold I should offend verse 16 When I this thought to know the● too painfull was for me verse 17 Till to GODS Sanctuary I went then I their end did see verse 18 In slipperie places surely thou didst set them all at last Thou them into destruction all down shamefully didst cast verse 19 How into desolation they as in a moment be Thus brought They all with terrours are consumed utterlie verse 20 As a vain dream when one awakes even so O LORD likewise When thou awak'st most surely thou their image shalt despise verse 21 Thus was my heart griev'd I was in my reines pricked sore verse 22 So foolish I and ignorant a beast was thee before verse 23 Neverthelesse continually I alwayes am with thee By my right hand thou surely hast most safely holden me verse 24 Thou shalt me with thy coūsel wise still guide as I do crave And afterward to glory thou me surely shalt receive verse 25 Whom in distresse have I in heav'n but thee whom I require Besides thee also there is none on earth that I desire verse 26 My flesh and heart fail me but God who failes me neve● The strength is of my heart and ● my portion ev'n for ever verse 27 For lo they that are far from shall perish so and so Thou hast all them destroyed tha● from thee a whoring go verse 28 But for me to draw neer to G●● it 's good ev'n evry where I trusted have in God that I may all thy works declare PSAL. LXXIV O God why hast thou us for ● cast off in danger deep why doth thine anger smoak agai● ev'n thine own pasture sheep verse 2 Thy congregation dear to thee in good remembrance hold Which thou ev'n in thy mercie g● hast purchased of old The rod of thine inheritance which thou redeemed hast This Mount Sion wherein alwayes thou dwelt m time bypast To desolations lasting still lift up thy feet anone ●'n all that in the Sanctuarie the enemie still hath done Amidst thy congregations all thy enmies still do roar They also do set up for signes their ensignes in great store A man was famous and renown'd in their societies ●ccording as the axes he did lift on the thick trees But with sharp axes and also strong hammers which they take ●e carved work thereof at once in furie down they break They fire into thy Sanctuary have cast by casting down ●hey have defil'd the dwelling place of thy Name to the ground verse 8 They said in heart Let us destro● together all their band GODS synagogues they have burnt that are in all the land verse 9 Our signes we see not no more a Prophet us among Nor yet among us any is that knoweth well how long verse 10 How long Lord shall th'advers● thus us reproach with shame Shall th' enmie fierce for ever thus blaspheme thy holy Name verse 11 Why

LXXV TO thee O God do we give tha● we doe give thankes thee ●or that thy wondrous works declare thy great Name neer to be When I the congregation great to govern shall receive ● all affaires as Judge I will me uprightly behave The earth and the inhabitants that in the same appeare ●●gether now dissolved are its pillars I up bear I surely said unto the fools Deal not thus foolishly ●●d to the wicked men also Lift not the horn so hie Lift ye not up your horn on high speak not with stiffe neck thus For not from th' east nor from the west nor south promotion is But God 's the Iudge he puts down one and sets another up For in the hand ev'n of the Lord of red wine is a cup. LXXXIX FOrever I 'll God 's mercies sing and with my mouth I shall ●ake clearly known thy faithfulnesse to generations all For mercy I have said shall be built up for ever sure ●hou in the heav'ns thy faithfulnesse shalt stablish to endure A cov'nant with my chosen I have made not to deceive To David my servant in truth solemnly sworn I have verse 4 Thy seed I stablish will most sure for ever not Justice Judgement of thy throne are made the dwelling place Mercy and truth together join'd shall go before thy face verse 15 Blest is the people that doth kn● the joyfull sound aright They of thy evermore to last My Cov'nant al 's alwayes shall stan● with him for ever fast verse 29 His holy seed al 's I will make for ever to endure And as the days of heav'n so shall his Throne be stablish'd sure verse 30 If his children my law forsak● and walk not in my wayes verse 31 If they my statutes break and not my precepts keep alwayes Their great transgression with the rod I will then visit still the field Which may at last most plenteously the fruits of increase yeeld verse 38 He also blesseth them so that they greatly do increase And suffreth not by any hurt their cattell to decrease verse CXXVI WHen God the Lord did turn agai● Zions captivitie We like unto men in a dreame did seem alwayes to be verse 2 Then was our mouth with laughte● fil● and tongue with singing soone Then said the heathen God the Lord for them great things hath done verse 3 The Lord hath done great things for● which makes us glad in heart verse 4 Turn back Lord our captivitie as streams in southern part verse 5 They that do sow their seed in tear● and sigh with sorrows deep When after grief is past and gone they in great joy shall reap verse 6 He that go'th foorth weepeth so●● still bearing precious seed Shall doubtlesse come again with joy and bring his sheaves with speed PSALME CXXVII THey build in vain except the Lord the house build and maintain Except the LORD the city keep the watch-men wake in vain verse 2 It 's vain for you early to rise to sit up late and bread Of sorrows eat to his belov'd he giveth sleep in need verse 3 Loe children are an heritage which GOD with great regard Gives unto men and of the womb the fruit is his reward verse 4 As arrows in the hands of him that mighty heer we see So children of the youth always unto their parents be verse 5 Who hath his quiver full of them is in a happy state They not asham'd shall boldly speak with th'enmies in the gate PSAL CXXVIII SUre every one that fears the LORD most blest is all his days That with a straight and upright hea● still walketh in his ways verse 2 For thou the labour of thine hands shall eat most chearfullie Thou shalt be happy and it shall be alwayes well with thee verse 3 Thy wife shall like a fruitfull Vine by thy house side be found Thy children like green Olive plants about thy table round verse 4 Behold that thus the righteous ma● shall ev'n be blessed heer That with his heart without deceit the LORD doth truely fear verse 5 The LORD thee out of Zion still shall blesse assuredlie And of Jerusalem the good thou all thy dayes shalt see verse 6 Yea more thy childrens children tho● shalt see with great increase And also upon Israel a most desired peace PSALME CXXIX THey many a time afflicted have me troubled every way ●nd that ev'n upward from my youth may Israel now say They many a time stil from my youth with troubles did assail ●et they have not had strength at all against me to prevail The plowers plow'd upon my back they made their furrows long The Lord is righteous he hath cut the cords of wicked strong Confounded heer on earth let them all be in their estate And turned back most suddenly that still do Zion hate verse 6 Let them be as the grasse that grows upon the houses top Which parched withreth with great heat afore it groweth up verse 7 Where with the mower doth not fill at any time his hand Nor yet he that doth bind the shea● his bosome on the land verse 8 Nor yet say they which then go by Gods blessing on you be We in the name of God the Lord do blesse you heartilie PSAL. CXXX OUt of the deepths I still O Lo●● have cryed unto thee verse 2 Lord hear and to my sutes thine ea● let them attentive be verse 3 LORD if thou mark iniquities who shall before thee stand verse 4 But that thou mayst be fear'd wi● th● forgivenesse is at hand verse 5 I wait for GOD my soul doth wai● and I hope in the Lord verse 6 More thē they that for morning wat● my soul waits for the Lord. I say yea more then they that watch the morning for to see verse 7 Let Isra'l hope in GOD for with the LORD great mercies be ●ith him also redemption is most plenteous for us all And from all his iniquities Isra'l redeem he shall PSAL. XXXI MIne heart O Lord not hautie is mine eyes not loftie be ●eddle not in matters great or things too high for me My self I have behav'd and still'd as of his mother mild child that 's wean'd yea even my soul is as a weaned child Let Israel all ev'n in the LORD still hope and him adore ●om hencefoorth as their duety is and so for evermore PSAL. CXXXII NOw David and his troubles Lord remember and him spare How to the Lord ev'n Jacobs God he vow'd and also sware I surely to the Tabernacle of my house will not go Nor yet to get my rest and ease go up my bed into verse 4 I surely henceforth will not give unto mine eyes a sleep Or yet a slumber suffer will on mine eye-lids to creep verse 5 Untill I find out for the LORD a place to make abode An habitation well prepar'd for Jacobs mighty GOD. verse 6 Lo we of it at Ephrata

CXXXIII BEhold how good a thing it is and pleasant for to see That brethren should together dwell in peace and unitie verse 2 Like precious ointment on the hea● that on the beard did fall Ev'n Aarons beard that to the skirts went of his garments all ●'n Aarons beard who was a man by GOD almighty sent ●●t down from thence unto the skirts of all his garments went ●ike Hermons dew like dew which down the Zions hills ran o're ● there the blessing God ordain'd ev'n life for evermore PSAL. CXXXIV ●Ehold and blesse the Lord all ye that serve the LORD aright ●●ich in the house of God the Lord to serve him stand by night Your hands lift in the Sanctuary and bless the Lord in this The Lord that made the heav'n and earth thee out of Zion blesse PSAL. CXXXV ●Raise ye the Lord praise ye also his Name with one accord ●●aise him with heart and voice O ye the servants of the Lord. CXLV O Thou who art my God King I will extoll thy fame ●●r ever and for ever I will blesse thy holy Name Ev'n ev'ry day I live on earth I with thy saints together ●ill still thee blesse and praise I will thy Name for ever and ever Great is the Lord and greatly to be praisd by great and small And his excellent greatnesse is unsearchable to all verse 4 One generation still shall praise thy works unto another And clearly also shall declare thy mighty acts together verse 5 I of the glorious honour of thy divine Majestie Will alwayes speak and of thy w● that still most wondrous be verse 6 And of thy acts most terrible men shall speak of the might And I likewise thy greatnesse will declare with heart upright verse 7 They utter shall aboundantly of thy great goodnesse all The memorie of thy righteousne● most sweetly sing they shall verse 6 The LORD is gracious and full compassion ev'ry way To anger slow and also is of mercy great alway verse 9 The LORD his goodnes doth ex● unto both great and small ●is tender mercies alwayes are his works ev'n over all Thy works al shal thee praise O Lord thy Saints shall blesse thee all Thy kingdoms glory tell shall they of thy might talk they shall To make known to the sons of men his acts that mighty be ●●d of his kingdome excellent the glorious Majestie An everlasting kingdome is thy Kingdome firme and sure 〈◊〉 thy dominion always doth through ages all endure By his almighty hand the LORD upholdeth all that fall ●●d those that low be bowed down up high he raiseth all The eyes of all things on the earth wait on thee as is meet ●●d in due season always thou giv'st unto them their meat verse 16 Thy hand thou op'nest very wide great blessings for to bring And the desire dost satisfie of every living thing verse 17 The LORD is ever righteous still in all wayes that are his And also he in all his works most truely holy is verse 18 The LORD to all that call on him is nigh in ev'ry part Even to all those that on him call in truth with all their heart verse 19 The good desire he will fulfill of them that do him fear He will them save he also will their cry in trouble hear verse 20 The Lord preserves them who 〈…〉 that nothing them anoy But all the wicked in his wrath he surely will destroy verse 21 The praise of the Almighty Lor● my mouth shall still proclame And let all flesh for evermore still blesse his holy Name PSAL. CXLVI PRaise ye the Lord his servants all and that with one accord O thou my soul most chearfully praise the almighty Lord. hide and I will now see ●heir end they are a froward race in whom no faith can be verse 21 With that which is not GOD the● hav● me mov'd to jealousie To anger they have me provok'd with their great vanitie I them also to jealousie with such as are no flock Will move to anger them with fool● I surely will provoke verse 22 For in my wrath fire kindled is such as no tongue can tell It shall not cease alwayes to burn even to the lowest hell It shall consume the earth all with her increase mans desire And the foundations of the mount shall surely set on fire verse 23 Upon them of mischief a heap I certainly will send I also on them in my wrath mine arrows now will spend verse 24 They shall consumed be and burnt with pain of hunger great ●nd suddenly shall be devour'd with a most burning heat ●nd with bitter destruction I will also on them thrust ●he teeth of beasts with poison al 's of serpents of the dust The sword without terrour within destroy shall and not spare ●he young man kill verse 34 Is not this wickednesse laid up in a great store with me And up among my treasures al 's even sealed secretly The fourth Part. verse 35 To me belongeth vengeance and recompence for their crime Their foot shall slide assuredly in due appointed time For their day of calamitie is surely neer at hand And the things that shal come on them make hast and shall not stand verse 36 For the LORD who is mercifull shall when he is content His people judge and al 's himself for his servants repent When that he sees their power al gone and them of help berest And that in their calamitie there 's none shut up or left verse 37 And he in his great wrath shal say where are their gods of might Their stable rock in whom alwayes they trusted day and night verse 38 Which ate fatlings wine offrings in drink did not reject Let them rise up with their strength you help and al 's protect verse 39 See now that I am he even I no god there is with me I kill I also make alive I wound heal as yee see Nor is there any that how can out of my hand deliver verse 40 For I lift up my hand to heav'n and say I live for ever verse 41 If on judgement my hand take hold and glistring sword I whet I 'll render
