that_o will_v give_v their_o heart_n to_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n and_o think_v that_o they_o will_v go_v no_o further_o but_o thus_o and_o thus_o far_o a_o hundred_o to_o one_o but_o when_o once_o these_o thing_n have_v take_v up_o their_o heart_n they_o get_v more_o and_o more_o advantage_n till_o they_o be_v even_o drown_v in_o destruction_n and_o perdition_n a_o man_n or_o woman_n seem_v to_o despise_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n many_o a_o man_n through_o one_o lust_n will_v seem_v as_o if_o he_o will_v hate_v the_o other_o though_o the_o truth_n be_v he_o do_v not_o hate_v it_o as_o a_o sin_n but_o for_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o his_o heart_n be_v against_o it_o not_o i_o say_v from_o the_o dislike_n of_o it_o as_o a_o sin_n against_o god_n but_o because_o it_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n as_o such_o great_a thing_n they_o conceive_v if_o they_o shall_v be_v disappoint_v they_o shall_v be_v undo_v they_o look_v upon_o it_o as_o such_o a_o fearful_a unsufferable_a evil_n to_o be_v deprive_v of_o their_o estate_n and_o outward_a comfort_n in_o this_o world_n second_o they_o do_v look_v upon_o the_o mean_n of_o provision_n for_o themselves_o and_o family_n as_o have_v any_o certainty_n in_o it_o which_o be_v a_o main_a thing_n to_o be_v consider_v of_o as_o for_o outward_a thing_n in_o the_o world_n they_o find_v by_o experience_n there_o be_v uncertainty_n in_o they_o and_o then_o for_o any_o promse_n that_o there_o be_v in_o scripture_n that_o god_n will_v provide_v for_o they_o and_o their_o family_n alas_o that_o they_o dare_v not_o trust_v to_o that_o be_v a_o thing_n that_o of_o all_o mean_n they_o think_v to_o be_v the_o weak_a lord_n have_v mercy_n upon_o they_o say_v they_o if_o they_o have_v nothing_o else_o to_o trust_v to_o but_o only_o a_o word_n in_o scripture_n they_o think_v themselves_o most_o miserable_a and_o wretched_a but_o now_o it_o will_v be_v otherwise_o with_o the_o soul_n if_o it_o be_v not_o earthly_a mind_v it_o will_v not_o be_v at_o any_o great_a pause_n how_o thing_n do_v fall_v out_o here_o in_o the_o matter_n of_o the_o world_n it_o be_v true_a perhaps_o i_o may_v miscarry_v in_o such_o a_o business_n and_o my_o estate_n may_v be_v take_v from_o i_o by_o the_o chaldaean_n or_o sabean_o as_o job_n be_v but_o i_o shall_v not_o be_v undo_v my_o happiness_n be_v not_o go_v i_o shall_v have_v that_o that_o will_v comfort_v i_o when_o all_o that_o be_v go_v suppose_v the_o worst_a yet_o this_o will_v not_o undo_v i_o indeed_o a_o man_n that_o send_v abroad_o in_o a_o venture_n all_o his_o whole_a estate_n he_o be_v very_o solicitous_a because_o if_o there_o be_v ill_a news_n about_o it_o he_o be_v undo_v but_o another_o man_n that_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o riches_n house_n and_o land_n and_o a_o stock_n at_o home_n to_o maintain_v he_o and_o his_o family_n if_o there_o come_v such_o ill_a news_n i_o have_v a_o stock_n to_o live_v on_o he_o think_v therefore_o he_o be_v not_o so_o much_o solicitous_a so_o a_o worldly_a man_n all_o his_o stock_n be_v in_o the_o earth_n there_o be_v his_o only_a portion_n and_o if_o he_o miscarry_v there_o he_o be_v undo_v but_o a_o godly_a man_n though_o he_o have_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n yet_o he_o have_v something_o else_o treasure_n in_o heaven_n to_o rest_v upon_o beside_o the_o earth_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v not_o so_o solicitous_a and_o then_o for_o the_o second_o the_o uncertainty_n of_o mean_n and_o help_n if_o a_o godly_a man_n look_v upon_o outward_a cause_n he_o see_v all_o be_v uncertain_a but_o he_o have_v a_o promise_n to_o rest_v upon_o i_o will_v never_o leave_v you_o nor_o forsake_v you_o cast_v your_o care_n upon_o i_o for_o i_o care_v for_o you_o and_o this_o heart_n and_o endeavour_n of_o his_o life_n be_v about_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n he_o make_v it_o his_o great_a business_n and_o the_o strong_a endeavour_n of_o his_o spirit_n be_v exercise_v in_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n he_o eager_o and_o greedy_o work_v with_o the_o strong_a intention_n about_o these_o thing_n his_o whole_a soul_n the_o whole_a man_n be_v lay_v out_o about_o the_o world_n it_o be_v the_o adequate_a object_n of_o his_o soul_n you_o will_v say_v other_o man_n they_o be_v busy_a in_o their_o calling_n as_o well_o as_o these_o that_o you_o account_v earthly_a mind_a man_n i_o but_o mark_v they_o be_v busy_a about_o their_o calling_n in_o obedience_n to_o god_n and_o for_o outward_a thing_n set_v aside_o their_o obedience_n to_o god_n then_o i_o say_v all_o the_o thing_n that_o they_o busy_a themselves_o about_o in_o the_o world_n be_v it_o not_o under_o that_o consideration_n that_o they_o be_v obey_v god_n in_o it_o they_o will_v not_o be_v adequate_a object_n for_o their_o soul_n i_o mean_v by_o a_o adequate_a object_n that_o that_o be_v sufficient_a to_o take_v up_o the_o whole_a strength_n of_o the_o soul_n to_o lay_v it_o out_o full_o i_o and_o full_a table_n and_o all_o the_o delight_n that_o they_o have_v in_o the_o world_n come_v and_o possess_v the_o heart_n that_o the_o word_n be_v choke_v it_o can_v get_v down_o into_o the_o soul_n to_o sink_v in_o there_o and_o so_o to_o prevail_v in_o the_o soul_n to_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n oh_o the_o word_n be_v choke_v oh_o many_o of_o you_o come_v here_o three_o time_n on_o the_o lord_n day_n and_o have_v precious_a seed_n sow_v all_o those_o time_n and_o yet_o oh_o how_o it_o be_v choke_v through_o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n and_o through_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o a_o thing_n when_o as_o he_o may_v have_v it_o with_o less_o labour_n he_o be_v a_o fool_n sure_o certain_o if_o you_o be_v such_o as_o belong_v to_o god_n especial_o you_o may_v rather_o expect_v god_n to_o bless_v you_o if_o you_o keep_v your_o heart_n more_o spiritual_a you_o may_v expect_v that_o god_n will_v grant_v to_o you_o more_o of_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o this_o world_n if_o you_o be_v less_o earthly-minded_n than_o you_o be_v and_o it_o be_v your_o earthly-mindednesse_a that_o make_v god_n cut_v you_o short_a of_o these_o thing_n i_o be_o very_o persuade_v there_o be_v many_o man_n that_o have_v ill_a success_n in_o their_o earthly_a affair_n and_o it_o be_v a_o fruit_n of_o god_n displeasure_n upon_o they_o because_o their_o heart_n be_v so_o much_o upon_o worldly_a business_n do_v you_o go_v on_o in_o your_o employment_n in_o obedience_n to_o god_n and_o commit_v it_o to_o god_n for_o success_n you_o may_v be_v crown_v with_o more_o success_n than_o you_o have_v price_n for_o it_o than_o it_o be_v worth_a if_o you_o send_v a_o servant_n to_o buy_v you_o commodity_n and_o when_o he_o come_v home_n you_o ask_v he_o what_o it_o cost_v and_o he_o tell_v you_o it_o cost_v such_o a_o price_n which_o be_v ten_o time_n more_o than_o its_o worth_n you_o will_v say_v thus_o it_o be_v to_o send_v a_o fool_n to_o market_n so_o a_o earthly_a mind_v man_n manifest_v himself_o to_o god_n and_o his_o angel_n and_o all_o the_o saint_n to_o be_v a_o fool_n for_o why_o thou_o bestow_v that_o upon_o this_o world_n that_o be_v a_o thousand_o time_n more_o worth_a than_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n for_o thou_o bestow_v that_o upon_o the_o world_n that_o may_v bring_v thou_o to_o heaven_n i_o may_v say_v to_o a_o earthly-minded_n man_n those_o thought_n and_o benefit_n of_o walk_v with_o god_n it_o be_v that_o such_o find_v favour_n in_o god_n eye_n for_o grant_v their_o petition_n for_o to_o hear_v they_o in_o their_o prayer_n in_o the_o 37._o psal_n 4._o ver_fw-la delight_n thyself_o in_o the_o lord_n and_o he_o shall_v give_v thou_o the_o desire_n of_o thy_o heart_n walk_v with_o god_n and_o enjoy_v converse_n and_o communion_n with_o he_o so_o as_o and_o walk_v very_o close_o with_o god_n have_v it_o not_o strike_v a_o terror_n to_o you_o for_o there_o be_v a_o glory_n and_o beauty_n upon_o those_o soul_n that_o do_v walk_v close_o with_o god_n time_n the_o sun_n have_v not_o that_o influence_n to_o fructify_v the_o ground_n but_o at_o other_o time_n though_o the_o sun_n be_v cloud_v yet_o it_o have_v influence_n to_o make_v the_o ground_n fruitful_a so_o though_o god_n may_v not_o shine_v upon_o thou_o in_o regard_n of_o outward_a comfort_n yet_o he_o may_v shine_v in_o upon_o thy_o soul_n and_o make_v thou_o to_o increase_v and_o grow_v in_o goodness_n more_o than_o ever_o before_o five_o if_o thou_o can_v not_o see_v god_n face_n yet_o harken_v and_o see_v if_o thou_o can_v not_o hear_v his_o voice_n and_o follow_v that_o do_v thou_o come_v to_o the_o word_n and_o there_o hear_v his_o voice_n be_v not_o god_n please_v to_o speak_v to_o thy_o soul_n out_o of_o his_o word_n thou_o go_v perhaps_o into_o thy_o closet_n and_o can_v not_o see_v his_o face_n there_o as_o thou_o be_v wont_a to_o do_v yet_o bless_v he_o that_o thou_o can_v hear_v his_o voice_n and_o follow_v his_o voice_n though_o it_o be_v in_o the_o
