into_o a_o wilderness_n and_o you_o shall_v meet_v with_o the_o same_o strait_n that_o israel_n meet_v withal_o if_o you_o shall_v see_v no_o way_n out_o of_o they_o yet_o take_v heed_n of_o their_o sin_n remember_v that_o all_o their_o strait_n and_o trouble_n do_v not_o justify_v their_o distrust_n god_n will_v not_o pass_v by_o their_o unbelief_n though_o they_o be_v his_o own_o people_n and_o the_o only_a people_n he_o have_v in_o the_o world_n and_o they_o be_v the_o first_o that_o be_v so_o exercise_v and_o so_o may_v plead_v ignorance_n more_o than_o we_o can_v and_o if_o he_o will_v not_o spare_v they_o much_o less_o we_o who_o have_v their_o experience_n and_o the_o addition_n of_o many_o age_n beside_o to_o confirm_v we_o in_o our_o depend_v upon_o god_n if_o he_o punish_v their_o distrust_n sevenfold_a he_o will_v punish_v we_o seventy_o time_n sevenfold_a now_o it_o be_v my_o great_a design_n to_o prevent_v this_o sin_n to_o which_o israel_n of_o old_a be_v so_o incline_v and_o to_o which_o if_o i_o may_v judge_v by_o my_o own_o heart_n we_o be_v still_o too_o propense_a i_o shall_v lay_v a_o â—ew_a consideration_n before_o you_o and_o oh_o that_o god_n will_v speak_v so_o effectual_o by_o they_o to_o every_o one_o of_o our_o heart_n that_o this_o sin_n may_v be_v prevent_v first_o consider_v it_o be_v a_o provoke_a sin_n it_o be_v call_v in_o the_o text_n the_o provocation_n israel_n be_v guilty_a of_o many_o and_o grievous_a sin_n in_o the_o wilderness_n but_o none_o provoke_v god_n as_o this_o do_v he_o express_v his_o displeasure_n against_o other_o sin_n as_o their_o idolatry_n their_o whoredom_n with_o the_o daughter_n of_o moab_n their_o lust_a after_o strange_a flesh_n yet_o he_o do_v not_o set_v any_o such_o note_n of_o his_o indignation_n upon_o any_o of_o these_o as_o as_o he_o do_v upon_o their_o unbelief_n this_o sin_n bear_v the_o name_n of_o the_o provocation_n in_o other_o case_n he_o do_v show_v mercy_n and_o past_a by_o the_o transgression_n of_o his_o heritage_n but_o because_o of_o this_o sin_n he_o retain_v his_o anger_n till_o he_o have_v consume_v they_o in_o the_o wilderness_n yea_o moses_n who_o have_v give_v such_o notable_a proof_n of_o his_o faith_n and_o courage_n in_o egypt_n for_o one_o act_n of_o unbelief_n
