john_n towe_v and_o thomas_n andrews_n alderman_n or_o any_o two_o of_o they_o and_o the_o assessor_n and_o collector_n to_o be_v nominate_v by_o virtue_n hereof_o shall_v weekly_o report_v to_o the_o assess_n of_o all_o such_o person_n within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n and_o westminster_n and_o the_o

suburb_n thereof_o with_o the_o borough_n of_o southwark_n as_o have_v not_o contribute_v upon_o the_o proposition_n of_o both_o house_n of_o parliament_n for_o raise_v of_o money_n plate_n horse_n horseman_n and_o arm_n for_o defence_n of_o the_o king_n parliament_z and_o kingdom_n or_o have_v not_o contribute_v proportionable_o to_o their_o estate_n and_o ability_n and_o whereas_o it_o be_v though_o fit_a that_o some_o addition_n be_v make_v for_o further_a explanation_n and_o better_a execution_n of_o the_o say_a ordinance_n be_v it_o further_o ordain_v and_o declare_v by_o the_o lord_n and_o commons_o assemble_v in_o parliament_n that_o such_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v assess_v by_o the_o respective_a assessor_n in_o the_o say_a ordinance_n appoint_v and_o shall_v within_o six_o day_n next_o after_o notice_n give_v to_o they_o or_o leave_v at_o their_o several_a house_n within_o the_o say_a city_n suburb_n or_o borrough_n pay_v in_o the_o one_o moiety_n of_o the_o say_a sum_n of_o money_n so_o assess_v and_o within_o twelve_o day_n after_o the_o say_a notice_n give_v as_o aforesaid_a the_o other_o moiety_n thereof_o unto_o the_o treasurer_n of_o money_n and_o plate_n in_o guildhall_n london_n or_o unto_o the_o collector_n appoint_v by_o the_o say_a ordinance_n respective_o to_o receive_v the_o same_o that_o then_o the_o say_a treasurer_n or_o collector_n shall_v give_v acquitance_n for_o the_o same_o as_o have_v be_v do_v to_o such_o who_o have_v lend_v money_n or_o plate_n upon_o the_o proposition_n of_o both_o house_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o the_o say_a money_n so_o pay_v to_o the_o say_a treasurer_n or_o to_o the_o say_v several_a collector_n shall_v be_v repay_v upon_o the_o public_a faith_n as_o all_o other_o money_n lend_v upon_o the_o say_a proposition_n of_o both_o house_n and_o as_o for_o those_o who_o shall_v so_o far_o discover_v their_o disaffection_n as_o not_o to_o bring_v in_o the_o several_a sum_n of_o money_n so_o assess_v upon_o they_o to_o the_o person_n before_o appoint_v within_o the_o time_n limit_v that_o then_o their_o good_n shall_v be_v distrain_v and_o sell_v according_a to_o the_o say_a ordinance_n and_o if_o no_o sufficient_a distress_n be_v find_v that_o then_o the_o say_a collector_n shall_v respective_o have_v power_n to_o inquire_v of_o any_o sum_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n due_a or_o to_o be_v due_a unto_o they_o respective_o so_o assess_v from_o any_o person_n or_o person_n for_o any_o rent_n tithe_n good_n or_o debt_n or_o for_o any_o other_o thing_n or_o cause_n whatsoever_o and_o the_o say_v respective_a collector_n shall_v have_v power_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o ordinance_n to_o receive_v all_o or_o any_o part_n of_o the_o say_a sum_n due_a or_o to_o be_v due_a unto_o they_o or_o any_o of_o they_o so_o assess_v until_o the_o full_a value_n of_o the_o sum_n or_o sum_n so_o assess_v and_o the_o charge_n in_o levy_v and_o recover_v of_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v receive_v and_o satify_v and_o the_o say_v respective_a collector_n shall_v have_v further_a power_n to_o compound_v for_o any_o of_o the_o say_a rent_n tithe_n good_n or_o debt_n due_a unto_o the_o say_a person_n so_o assess_v respective_o as_o aforesaid_a with_o any_o person_n or_o person_n by_o who_o the_o say_a rent_n tithe_n good_n or_o debt_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v owe_v as_o also_o to_o give_v full_a and_o ample_a discharge_n for_o the_o money_n by_o they_o so_o receive_v upon_o composition_n or_o otherwise_o which_o discharge_v shall_v be_v good_a and_o effectual_a to_o all_o intent_n and_o purpose_n and_o if_o the_o sum_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n so_o assess_v can_v be_v levy_v by_o any_o of_o these_o mean_n or_o way_n than_o the_o person_n so_o respective_o assess_v shall_v be_v imprison_v in_o such_o place_n of_o this_o kingdom_n and_o for_o so_o long_a time_n as_o the_o committee_n of_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o for_o the_o examination_n shall_v appoint_v and_o order_v and_o the_o family_n of_o all_o such_o person_n so_o imprison_v shall_v no_o long_o remain_v within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n and_o westminster_n the_o suburb_n and_o the_o county_n adjacent_a and_o be_v it_o further_o ordain_v that_o all_o and_o every_o the_o assessor_n and_o collector_n of_o the_o say_v several_a sum_n shall_v have_v the_o protection_n of_o both_o house_n of_o better_a enable_v of_o the_o lord_n major_a to_o put_v their_o say_a ordinance_n in_o execution_n die_v mercurii_n 7._o decemb._n 1642._o resolve_v upon_o the_o question_n that_o the_o lord_n major_n and_o other_o person_n name_v in_o the_o ordinance_n shall_v have_v power_n to_o nominate_v and_o appoint_v six_o other_o person_n to_o be_v assessor_n in_o the_o several_a ward_n of_o farringdon_n novemb_n 29._o 1642._o whereas_o according_a to_o a_o ordinance_n and_o declaration_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o commons_o assemble_v in_o parliament_n of_o the_o 29_o of_o november_n last_o the_o
