and_o therefore_o first_o to_o examine_v ourselves_o and_o then_o eat_v of_o that_o bread_n and_o drink_v of_o that_o cup_n what_o then_o shall_v hinder_v our_o approach_n to_o this_o holy_a banquet_n that_o we_o be_v wicked_a be_v no_o excuse_n for_o why_o be_v we_o not_o otherwise_o that_o we_o be_v afraid_a because_o of_o our_o unworthiness_n if_o there_o be_v no_o other_o reason_n but_o our_o fear_n be_v no_o excuse_n for_o it_o be_v not_o the_o sense_n of_o our_o unworthiness_n that_o shall_v hinder_v we_o but_o our_o resolution_n or_o unwillingness_n to_o be_v otherwise_o and_o that_o indeed_o will_v make_v we_o unworthy_a for_o ever_o for_o where_o shall_v we_o be_v wash_v if_o not_o in_o this_o fountain_n which_o be_v open_v for_o sin_n and_o uncleanness_n if_o none_o but_o such_o as_o be_v perfect_a can_v approach_v this_o holy_a table_n who_o then_o will_v venture_v to_o come_v near_o and_o what_o can_v we_o think_v of_o our_o saviour_n that_o can_v propose_v a_o snare_n to_o endanger_v our_o ruin_n no_o it_o be_v ordain_v for_o such_o as_o have_v a_o sense_n of_o their_o unworthiness_n and_o be_v sensible_a of_o their_o load_n but_o desire_v to_o be_v ease_v of_o their_o heavy_a burden_n well_o but_o they_o who_o come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n be_v oblige_v to_o live_v strict_a life_n than_o other_o man_n and_o some_o be_v afraid_a they_o can_v conform_v to_o a_o exactness_n of_o conversation_n why_o be_v they_o not_o as_o well_o afraid_a that_o because_o they_o do_v lead_v such_o life_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v punish_v which_o will_v be_v a_o argument_n to_o put_v they_o upon_o that_o trial_n and_o when_o once_o they_o see_v the_o pleasantness_n of_o the_o path_n of_o righteousness_n they_o will_v endeavour_v to_o persevere_v in_o they_o beside_o they_o be_v not_o oblige_v but_o to_o lead_v such_o live_v as_o be_v necessary_a to_o salvation_n and_o how_o dare_v any_o man_n that_o believe_v another_o world_n do_v less_o there_o be_v danger_n indeed_o in_o unworthy_a receive_v and_o there_o be_v as_o great_a a_o danger_n in_o stay_v away_o both_o of_o they_o be_v a_o contempt_n of_o the_o lord_n body_n and_o will_v receive_v their_o reward_n in_o short_a whatever_o our_o scruple_n be_v that_o hinder_v we_o from_o this_o ordinance_n let_v we_o with_o all_o speed_n endeavour_n to_o remove_v they_o for_o there_o be_v no_o excuse_n for_o our_o absence_n nor_o any_o objection_n but_o what_o may_v easy_o be_v answer_v if_o we_o be_v sincere_a in_o our_o inquiry_n it_o be_v the_o neglect_n of_o this_o sacrament_n that_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o our_o coldness_n in_o religion_n and_o i_o can_v tell_v how_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o though_o the_o church_n and_o state_n require_v all_o that_o be_v at_o the_o age_n of_o sixteen_o to_o communicate_v at_o least_o three_o time_n in_o the_o year_n that_o there_o be_v not_o one_o in_o a_o thousand_o observe_v the_o order_n there_o be_v a_o great_a many_o considerate_a person_n that_o never_o seem_v to_o have_v a_o desire_n after_o it_o till_o they_o come_v upon_o their_o deathbed_n and_o then_o be_v willing_a to_o have_v it_o to_o conduct_v they_o to_o heaven_n the_o ancient_a church_n refuse_v to_o administer_v to_o any_o that_o have_v not_o receive_v it_o before_o and_o if_o the_o discipline_n be_v maintain_v it_o will_v make_v we_o more_o circumspect_a for_o a_o great_a many_o think_v if_o they_o can_v have_v the_o minister_n to_o pray_v by_o they_o and_o give_v they_o the_o sacrament_n all_o will_v be_v well_o but_o if_o they_o who_o refuse_v it_o in_o their_o health_n be_v deny_v it_o upon_o their_o deathbed_n it_o will_v be_v a_o dreadful_a warning_n to_o other_o not_o to_o neglect_v it_o and_o those_o minister_n who_o venture_v now_o to_o adminster_n it_o transgress_v the_o rubric_n in_o this_o case_n but_o it_o be_v as_o indiscreet_a to_o trust_v to_o this_o now_o as_o to_o depend_v upon_o a_o repentance_n begin_v at_o such_o a_o time_n which_o be_v hardly_o possible_a to_o be_v sincere_a and_o if_o not_o they_o be_v lose_v for_o ever_o there_o be_v the_o same_o argument_n to_o bring_v man_n to_o the_o sacrament_n as_o there_o be_v to_o persuade_v they_o to_o a_o newness_n of_o life_n without_o both_o we_o be_v not_o assure_v of_o salvation_n and_o he_o that_o pretend_v to_o lead_v a_o life_n according_a to_o god_n holy_a word_n and_o yet_o refuse_v to_o eat_v of_o the_o bread_n which_o come_v down_o from_o heaven_n how_o can_v he_o hope_v to_o be_v raise_v up_o at_o the_o last_o day_n the_o truth_n on_o it_o be_v man_n be_v not_o willing_a to_o part_v with_o their_o lust_n and_o as_o long_o as_o they_o be_v in_o that_o mind_n they_o do_v well_o to_o stay_v away_o but_o do_v very_o ill_a to_o continue_v in_o such_o a_o resolution_n but_o what_o shall_v we_o say_v if_o neither_o promise_n or_o threat_n reward_n or_o punishment_n heaven_n or_o hell_n will_v persuade_v man_n to_o forsake_v suitable_a order_n that_o every_o prayer_n have_v a_o particular_a relation_n to_o what_o we_o be_v then_o a_o do_v our_o mind_n may_v be_v more_o move_v and_o our_o soul_n thus_o ascend_v with_o our_o devotion_n we_o may_v pray_v by_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o understanding_n also_o i_o be_o very_o willing_a to_o believe_v that_o all_o who_o come_v to_o this_o holy_a table_n endeavour_v to_o
